Found henrys kangaroo finally and had a bit of a search until it unexpectedly started to rain (none really predicted today). I took shelter nearby but then a friend who lives locally wanted to meet for a coffee while I was over this way, so took a break in the weather to makes tracks. I'll have to come back again sometime and look again. So close but no final cache Sad was fun all the same.

This was more a "Did Not Look" early enough as it was dark when I finally found Boomer. A very unusual place to put this guy! I tried by phone-torch light, but without specific coords, I may have been in the wrong area.

However, I did thoroughly enjoy this wherigo. A great story and some history I had no idea of. Along with the geodog Zelda, we wandered around a very busy Manly on this beaut Autumn day. When I return to have a better look in daylight, I will definitey give this a FP.

A fun walk around Manley.
I completed this cache over 2days as the path lead me by our hotel and I got pulled away to do other things. This morning I woke up uncharacteristically earlier and completing this cache immediately sprung to mind. I tackled the last few WPs and soon found Boomer standing still and admiring the view.
It took longer than expected to find the container. At first I mixed up my directions and accidentally increased the T rating. Once I was in the right area, I still couldn’t spot it. In desperation I sent a message asking the CO for a hint. I promptly found the cache 2m away from me.
TFTH. FP for the well put together Wherigo and great site seeing.

An early start to the day. This was a nice surprise to find. No idea The Boomer was hiding here in plain sight. Thanks for the tour and the wherigo experience.

Today was a long time in the making. In fact, it was a long over-due adventure north of the -34th parallel to do Wherigos that held out great promise, and now that the day has finally come and gone we're happy to say we weren't disappointed.

This was the third of the day. By the time we finished our tour, the sun was well and truly high in the sky so there was no blinding sunlight heading to GZ. Once there, we were surprised to discover just how large Boomer is! And the view is great too.

Thanks for the fun wherigo.

Dropped a couple TBs.

Tyreless I found your cache Henry and the Boomer on 22/10/20, 1:05 pm. This is my find 2780 and find # 2 today. A great Wherigo experience, enjoyed the walk around Manly learning about the history. Found the bonus cache at the end after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

Great cache. Introduced Rama497 go whereigo caches.
We wandered around following the trail - although a little guess work errors on our behalf had us scratching our heads for a little bit.

Didn't know this was here and a great spot to come to.

This is my very first Wherigo.
I completed it with Smurfyguy.
It was a great walk around Manly and another great location at the finish point that I never knew about.
We found the cache container and signed the log.

When we arrived at the wherigo we had planned to do we discovered it was archived during our trip to Australia. But luckily Manly has free wifi at the beach so we could look online if there was another wherigo nearby. This one was nearest and reading the cache page we immediately were enthusiastic so we downloaded the cache.
The hunt for Boomer could begin!

We chased it in another direction than we had thought, so we skipped the other caches we had planned. During our chase something special happened: the local fire brigade came to help us! They seached the roof of the wharf building, but where there is smoke there is no boomer.
So we had to continue our search on our own. Being from the Netherlands turned out to be of great use when specific knowledge was needed on windmills. But it also had its disadvantages since were are used to flat terrain. Still we managed to catch up with Boomer and completed the wherigo at a very surprising location.

We then could search for the cache, which we did thoroughly. We didn't find the cache but burned trees and an empty ziplock bag might indicate the cache is gone. A pity there is no hint or photo in the wherigo at completion. But as a consolation prize we found a 5 cents coin, maybe left by a previous cacher?

Thanks for the adventure and the very special final location. Happy holidays!

I checked the cache on 11 November and it was there - I will check again next time I am in Manly. In the meantime, just expand your search a bit and you might be rewarded.

#1705. (Catching up belatedly on some logging (Jan 2020). I had been coming to Manly off an on over the last couple of months for work and back in mid November I got as far as the ph # bit before I got stuck and also ran out of time. Messaged CO who gave me the details and subsequently I realised that they were on the cache page for all to see all along. (Doh!) So now to Dec 2 and I had a bit of time to spare before heading off to work again so hoped I would get this completed. Got to the final spot only to find something completely unexpected but of course completely relevant to the cache theme. Just seems to be a really random thing to find in a location like this.... Anyway with the cartridge completed it was time to find the cache itself. I think I spent almost 10 mins gradually widening my search area and keeping an eye on the clock as I needed to be getting to work when I finally spotted the cache, well and truly protected. (BTW there was a fair amount of broken glass in the whole area around GZ so tread carefully) Had a great time doing this Wherigo and it ran pretty well (bit of a hiccup when I selected the wrong answer at one point but nothing terminal but I did get a bit worried, TNLNSL. Thanks for an excellent cache Tyreless, a fav as well.

#6045 (1 of 2 today)

The Geowife is on the Central Coast for lunch, so I headed to Manly for a few caches. Decided to target a WhereIGo - despite my utter failure at another of the same CO’s WIGs. But I do need one more WIG for a Challenge Cache. So...
After that cache I had time before my parking ran out, to retry a previous DNF.

Got both. Yay!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Parked close to the published coordinates and fired up the cartridge - which performed flawlessly on my iPhone.
Worked through the various tasks and made all the right decisions first time until I just couldn’t match an item near the end. I’m positive it was... well got there in the end.

At GZ I checked a few spots, but I just knew it would be right under a plump cache guardian. And it was.

Completed signing duties and replaced, then walked to my next target.

Excellent adventure and history. Gets a favourite.
And this cache puts me over the top for the final *Cache Carnival* souvenir. HUZZAH!

This has to be the best-written WIG I've done. Lots of variety and interesting, informative spots. I vaguely remember childhood walks near GZ with my Dad as he'd lived there almost a century ago. Thanks Tyreless, a worthy effort!

Was out early on Wednesday morning before another day of conferencing when the gps ran flat and geocaching was offline, luckily I was near the start of this Whereigo and that app was running! After a slow start I strolled through most of the tasks easily enough, until the last couple, but eventualy got to the final location and a curious little spot it is. Running short on time and breakfast had touble finding the cache. So I ventured more directly back there early this morning, located and signed the log after searching a little further. Thanks for a well constructed, surprisingly long cartridge Tyreless

Collected this nice wherigo on our walk around Manly and Fairlight. I had a fairly good idea of where the final would be, having run a couple orienteering races in the area. My initial bet was confirmed as we were closing in on GZ.

While searching for the elusive Roo, we stopped to wait for some Fairy Penguins to show themselves near the wharf, but alas they did not want to come out tonight. We arrived to GZ eventually in the dark, but the cache revealed itself fairly quickly after we established the final location.

Another cracking Where I Go by Tyreless. Even better than Bubbler Dash this one! A great tour of Manly and fantastic justice to GZ. I've actually been here before but forgot I had until I arrived. The itinerary today was the (long, tiring) Fisher's Bay coastal walk all the way to Manly Beach. The sights here were not as spectacular as at Bondi yesterday, and the weather was quite a bit warmer, but we still had a good time on the hike. More caches perilously close to cliffs, and more wonderful views of property we will probably never in our life times be able to afford Wink Thanks to all the COs for hiding and maintaining these caches -- we had a few DNFs, but were successful on the most part. Individual remarks are under the line.

An entertaining WIG with an interesting final. We were huffing and puffing a bit at the last leg of the cartridge, earning our T 2.5. Cache was found after a short search. Thanks for the little history lesson -- the boomer has been retrieved safely!

#2079 (streak day #245)
After not having been to Manly for quite some time, today is my second visit within a week. This is partly due to my muggle neighbour suggesting a motorbike ride, to which I suggested we find a WIG cache that I noticed last week.

Possible brief showers were forecast and as we approached Manly, the sky was threateningly dark. Always easy to get a park for a motorbike and we were soon at the posted coordinates. We didn't get off to a good start as my iPhone hung just after starting the app, but I'd never had a problem with a WIG before and wasn't expecting one here either. Everything was fine on the second attempt and we were soon off on our adventure to find the wayward roo.

Experienced a bit of a head scratch moment at one point where we had to type an answer. For the life of me, I couldn't see where the answer should be entered and when this was solved, we made sure to spell it exactly as per the sign, but it actually wanted a less punctuated version. From there it was smooth sailing on a day that was quickly warming up and getting very muggy. Had time for a short break to watch a surf competition in action, but the waves were pretty tame which didn't provide much of a spectacle.

Very surprised by what we found near GZ. Followed the final set of instructions and of course I immediately went for the higher terrain search. A few minutes later my muggle friend shouted out that I wouldn't find it where I was looking. He then watched with a grin while I tried to find what he already had. Needless to say, my name is now in the log book and we stayed and chatted for a while enjoying the scenic view. Awesome job Tyreless putting this together and including so much history (not all of which we read unfortunately). Really enjoyed the morning's adventure and happy we didn't get wet.

Out with JJCC, phlphotos and alnic39 today on a cache run targeting some caches for the day in order to fill in some requirements for a challenge cache series (USG) down in Canberra. This particular cache was high on our radar due to it being a wherigo cache and after working our way through we ended up locating boomer (who would have thought that was here). We started searching down, around, under, here, there and up and finally we spotted what was needed. With the cache in hand we all signed the log before replacing as found. The cache container and log are in an good condition. Thanks for this special cache type Tyreless.

The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust) & Vanlith The Youngling.

With the guidance to the team leaders, I get myself more qualifications for the UGC. Studying for a university degree is hard, but it's great when you have good tutors. Pacgirl and I flew up to Sydney to visit Snoopy for a few days. The trip included sightseeing, socializing, and just a 'little' caching Wink. My geopartners sometimes got a little impatient - they're obviously more muggles than they are cachers Smile.

I don't know why I struggled so much to find this one earlier this year. Today, within 1 minute - Boom! Henry was found! Go figure.
It was a fun wherigo with a great appropriate GZ.
Thanks, Tyreless.

While visiting Sydney for a few days I drove to Manly today specifically to do this cache.
While I found Boomer alright, Henry wasn't too generous in rewarding my find with info - not enough for me to find the cache anyway. After 30minutes at GZ turning over logs, rocks and grass (at times making it a T4.5), I eventually ran out of light and had to admit defeat.
TFTH, Tyreless.

We have been geocaching for almost 3 years, but have never done a Wherigo cache because we lacked the necessary tech equipment to run the Wherigo games. But we recently acquired an ipad (with GPS) so could finally have a go. This was to be our first ever Wherigo cache so, after loading the app and cartridge, we all headed down to Manly to try it out.

Found a parking spot in Bolingbroke Parade, and then walked down to the starting coords. Followed the instructions and found ourselves heading off on a really fun little adventure around Manly. Being long-time locals most of the information, and all of the locations, were already familiar to us, but it was fun answering the questions and figuring out the mini puzzles. Geoson#1 said it was very “Professor Layton” (computer game) like, which was an aspect he really enjoyed.

Anyway, after stopping mid game for ice creams, we eventually arrived at a familiar GZ. Had already guessed where it would be before we started off, but we hadn’t been here for many years so it was great to be back for the views and a cache.

After snapping a few photos with “the Boomer” we set to work searching for the cache container. Eventually found the well stashed container in a spot we had checked early on in the search, but obviously not well enough, so it ended up taking us much longer than it should have. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found.

Thanks Tyreless for setting up this Wherigo cache, a great introduction for us to Wherigo caching, and a most enjoyable historical walk around Manly. Well worth a Favourite point from us.

We spent the day on the northern shores and specifically the The Spit to Manly walk which I must say was lovely walk even though today was a little windy.
We started doing this wherigo as we made our way along the shores and things were going really well till it came to putting our hands on the cache. Unfortunately it alluded us but the views from here made up for it...... Maybe next time.

Stayed in Manly, down from Canberra. Got up early and jogged to the start point. Everything loaded fine and I headed off on a trot. At one stage, I thought the system was playing up, chasing the waypoint, but it was already ahead of me, waiting for me to ask the characters some questions. Should've realised when I heard the familiar WhereIGo beep.

Ran to each waypoint and enjoyed the unfolding story, culminating in the GZ spot. Nice view. Soon located the container and signed. Then onto the hotel for a well-deserved egg and bacon roll and a coffee. Great fun. TFTC Tyreless. A favourite for the effort and the fun field puzzles. It's given me inspiration for a Canberra-based WhereI Go.

Today I walked part of the Spit to Manly walk with the geo dog. Much to my surprise, dogs are allowed off-leash in most parts along the walk. Only close to the small beaches the dog must be on-leash.

The walk was very enjoyable, with nice sunny weather and fantastic views across the water. Needless to say the walkway was full of muggles and their dogs. At the end of our walk we logged 8 caches and walked 11 kilometers.

This Wherigo cache was perfect to be combined with the other caches on our walk around Manly. The Wherigo is well made, with nice waypoints and puzzles. I always enjoy the Manly area and I prefer it any time of Bondi.

From past experiences I knew that it is important to save the game after completing each waypoint. That proved to be smart, as the Whereyougo app on my Android phone froze a couple of times and I then I had to get out and back into the zone.

Thanks for the excellent Wherigo cache and the enjoyable walk around Manly. Worth a favourite!

Geowife and I had a few hours to kill while Geodaughter was at some school play nearby. We parked the Geobeast near GZ and not in a 2 Hour parking zone. We made our way to GZ and I had a problem trying to get anywhere with the Iphone. After 5 Minutes I knew what my problem was, It helps to have your location set on for the Wherigo app. Dohhhh. Anyway we got going with the new info and learnt stuff about the history of the area and stopped at a certain Ice cream shop before continuing on with the puzzles and waypoints. We met a celebrity swimmer along the way and enjoy the views before turning into a street where on might to stay overnight. Got the final piece of puzzle solved and having a bit of a laugh when we arrived at the final GZ. Found the cache easy as it was just sitting out in the open, very exposed. I did the legals and replaced it back in a place about 1m from where we found it. Thanks Tyreless for a fun Wherigo, Get a fav point from us.

Companions: 3 Geokids
Muggles: Yes ...
Weather: Pleasant autumn day
Cache condition: Good

My wife is currently overseas, so I am looking after the rugrats, and wanted something fun for the day as an respite to the the go-go-go days we've been having. The weather forecast looked good for a walk (sunny and 19C), so we headed across town to Manly after morning tea. We parked near the posted co-ordinates (I was slightly worried about the 2 Hour Parking signs, but luckily didn't have a "present" when we got back) and walked down to the start. Geogirl8 carried my phone, while Geoboy11 had his phone too, so we had 2 copies of the game running, while Geoboy5 carried the GPS (without the wherigo loaded, but he enjoyed following on the map).

We followed the story along, enjoying the puzzles, and the great views. The Manly Food, Wine and Sustainability Festival was on, so I was worried we may have troubles getting to some of the waypoints, but other than crowds it didn't impede us. We had some lunch at a pizza restaurant and the kids had a play at a playground and on the beach, until we eventually got to the final spot. Nice spot and very relevant! 2 muggles came and sat down nearby to enjoy the view, but we were able to find the cache without any problems (kids are great cover in places like this). After that we headed down for an ice-cream before we returned to our car, finding a few caches enroute. It took about 4 hours overall, of which about 2 was directly related to the WIG.

Thanks for a well-made wherigo, with accurate co-ords for the zones and a smooth experience all round. I have made one myself, so I know how much work goes into them.

After my planned canyon trip up at Newnes was cancelled due to the rain, one of my mates suggested the Spit to Manly walk instead. As I haven't done the walk before (and there were plenty of caches I hadn't found there) I was keen to come along. I was lucky that with the big gap between fitness level, age and injuries I had a few moments to duck off the track and grab a few caches along the way while waiting for the slow ones to catch up.
I had only gotten through the first three waypoints before I had to stop due to heavy rain. We all went and had lunch, before heading our separate ways, in which I could go and find that kangaroo. The journey was much longer than I expected, but what I found at the last waypoint was really impressive.
The final instruction of where to find the cache could have been a bit clearer, but with a bit of fiddling with some tools on my gps I worked out the general area of GZ and found the cache in the first spot I looked.
Thanks for the cache.

Second whereigo cache chasing a lost kangaroo in 8 days, what is it about these marsupials don't they like us? This one was much more urban the plus side of which meant that geodoggie could come along for the walk - which she thought was just sensational.

I love walking around Manly as it was where I did a lot of growing up, although that is debatable. I took a few photos and just managed to beat the sunset back to the car. Picked up a coin.

Another great cache with a grand finale from the indefatigable one. You managed to tire both of us.

Streak day #241 - What a beautiful day in Manly. This morning I was down here with my sister and nephew. My sister has signed him up for a mixed sports group nearby. After watching him run around for a while it was time for lunch at a Swedish café called Fika, which I have since found out means coffee. Although it was only lunch time we decided to have some of the Glögg (mulled wine) with our brunch. It was all delicious. After lunch it was time for our adventure, at least that is how I sold the idea of a wherigo cache to my sister and nephew. We walked up to the starting point then chased that boomer all over town. We talked to all the locals with my nephew helping decide which actions we took. Although I think he had the most fun walking along the rocks towards the start of the cartridge. My sister and I enjoyed all the historical information. At my nephews walking pace I think it did actually take us a couple of hours to find our way to the end. I had no idea that spot was up there, though my sister said she remembered the spot from when she was younger. At GZ we were unable to make a find straight away as some kids were hanging around there. We decided to meet a friend who was working at Skater HQ and try again on our way home. My nephew was exhausted by the time we got back to the car. Not sure if the kids would be there still I jumped out of the car on my own to check things out. I wandered in circles for a while, then 10 mins later realised I was looking at the wrong compass point from what I was told. oops. Once I was looking in the correct area I made a quick find. Walking over to the edge of the rock I held the cache out so that my nephew could see the treasure had been found. I signed the log, dropped off a geocoin then hid the cache back where I found it. This has definitely been a fun cache to find. I'm definitely enjoying the wherigo caches. I will have to find another I can take my nephew on too. TFTC.

coming with the ferry out today to manly in the morning, i knew that i probably will walk back the ame path, which i just took to the very start of your fine wherigo Smile indeed...

my assistant Mr iphone5 did the main ob to catch boomer, he obeyed to all orders, twists, marked items, and never refused once ... good boy

it had been an enjoyable walk through manly filled with many memories - loved the part with the tree , am still grinning

came to GZ after mr assistant fed me with the necessary coordinates and here i struggled for a moment as i couldn't decipher the last question, had been painted over, but then i had the glorious idea to take a picture which i then enlarged, et voila got the code and the box and signed and had a good time!

Lots of fun. A great way to learn the history of Manly. A definite favourite from me. Did it on my razor (scooter) with a friend from school.

Hot and sticky today but very fun. Mrs Gaztek did the rounds on our first WhereIGo geocache. Has taken a little while to get our act together to get the iPad app, read the advice about how to download and to actually try it out. I know this area very well as I swim down here regularly with the Bold and Beautiful and Mr Gaztek found a geocache near the Boomer several years ago. We laughed our heads off when we first saw him. Imagine a creature this size that hardly anyone knows about!

Enjoyed all the friends I met along the way including the five swimmers and the four tricky men and learning about Henry's contribution to Manly. The best was William Gouger who paved the way for all of us at the beach. Thanks for putting this together, Tyreless. Now on to more whereigo caches. SL TFTC

Cheers.... Gaztek

PS My cartridge didn't offer me any choices when I got to the windmills. I tried from both the front and back and still no luck. It didn't matter because I worked out where to go next anyway.

Busy, busy, buying fish, feeding cat to warning guests inside a certain stay but we eventually caught the elusive kanga.
Must say, the idea to make the artwork up here is bizarre and seems he did it for this whereigo as not too many people would know of it here. How did he know it would work so well.
Great long cartridge that earns a hard earned fav, thanks Tyreless

It took time. Very imaginative wherigo! Difficulties in getting inside some zones but liked it a lot nevertheless. Tftw.

Great fun. Nice track. Best wherigo I have ever done. Thanks

I don't normally chase the GeoCaching souvenirs too much, but with the upcoming Zargfinder event, all I was short was a whereIgo. However, fate stopped me a number of times from being able to attempt one, so I decided it had to be a night time raid or nothing.

For reasons best known to myself, I didn't 'talk' to everyone at the start. Then the whole way around I was nervous that I might have missed something and mean Mr Tyreless was going to make me walk all the way back to the start! But in the end, everything was good - although in the dark I couldn't see one sign, but google got me the answer.

Appreciate the effort put into this one

Well a beautiful Sunday afternoon walking around manly. My first Wherigo and my 800th cache. Thanks to all those people who I've had the pleasure to find there little treasures. Smile

Another great Wherigo around Manly here today. It was a great day out and some nice little spots. Of course GZ was unexpected but fitted in so well with everything. Some nice views too! TFTC!

That was a surprise to find that there. made for a good finish. Lost me when we had to buy fish and definitely not interested in walking around cities but this was okay just really annoying when you get to the end and realise how was only DT 1.5. Loved stopping at the midnight oil exhibition half way. Now to hopefully spot a whale. Tftc

Visiting Australia for the first time with Votkalat and logging few caches on the route Smile

Today we visited Manly and walked to few of the closest caches. Only problem with this one was to locate the final cache.. but luckily we discovered the box and where able to log this one also Smile

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Finland.

Quick check on the cache this morning. Still there - all good.

Despite our best efforts, The Rats, steeba and I could not turn up this cache during our tour of the Northern Beaches.

Really have no idea what we did wrong here. However where we ended up as GZ and searching for some time did not really seem to match the clie. Oh well, there is always next time.

Cheers

This was a fun cache to do. I have to admit, I am skeptical of WhereIGo caches because sometimes the directions have you going around in circles. Not so with this one, much to my relief! Nice and uni-directional! And, you can't go wrong with Manly as a backdrop. I love this area. AM and I learned some interesting local history along the way too. Thanks for a great cahce, Tyreless!

Awesome experience and cache Tyreless! CJ and I found this one with this morning and really enjoyed the whole walk around Manly and learning some history. I especially was interested to learn about how the Norfolk Pines were planted along the beach front.

We have been chasing down many and local caches for the past few months on a calendar grid chase. There are still a few nearby that are on our list that we have not done. This whereigo is now ticked off, but there is another Tyreless one which we'd like to do as well. The final GZ is a clever hide despite growing up on the north side, I'd never have know this spot was here. You really need to be a local from Manly to know about this spot. Very clever and it seems so appropriate for the GZ. Like Tyreless wrote the cache are still there and it good nick.

We signed the cache and replaced it exactly as we found it. Thanks Tyreless for another of your caches. We enjoyed this one particularly and it gets a fav point Smile SL TNLN TFTC

Second wherigo and same result. I found all the tasks, found the way to the final, But could not find the container.
Sad, when there is no chance to look again. I am a tourist and I left Sydney.

I had put this on my list before leaving home. hubby just laughed as I walked in circles while my phone got the whereigo working. We had traversed many of the places before today but enjoyed the whole tour again. We found the kangaroo and the cache. A great way to end my caching in Austrailia. tftf.

Very enjoyable couple of hours stroll around Manly taking in a couple of schooners on the way. We used an Oregon which was fine, but slowed considerably towards the end. A saving of the cartridge and resume after switching the Oregon off resolved the situation. Surprising and
lovely final cache area. Only our second Wherigo. The first was "bubbler". Not exactly hooked, but great fun nevertheless.

Beautiful day out on the beach. Roomed a bit through Manly before heading out to North Head and Q-Station. Thanks for the great Cache. Lots of fun.

Found on Sunday, 29th December 2013 before the NYE @ Sydney
(Log may be signed as ADI, short for AlphaDeltaIndigo)
GC Buddy for the day: "JordsAU & Goughy2012
Cache condition: good
Log condition: good

This was an interesting cache. Quite a long walk from starting point. Interesting puzzles on the way. Had to use logical thinking too! At gz, the statue was an interesting point. Never seen such a statue before. Thank you for bringing me to this point.
It was JordsAu who found the final cache.

Geocache # 1,058.
Found on Sunday, 29th December 2013 at 3:08 PM.
Conditions: sunny.
Current streak # 151 days.
Today's finds 1 of 8 (total of 9 during the trip).

There were good intentions all round to head out early in the morning to fit a few caches in before the NYE @ Sydney Event in the afternoon but both Goughy2012 and AlphaDeltaIndigo overslept so we were delayed in our start. Goughy2012 came to my place and we drove over to Broadway Shopping Centre to pick up some supplies for the event before collecting AlphaDeltaIndigo as we passed through. We then crossed back over the bridge towards Manly to try our luck with the Henry and the Boomer Whereigo cache. It was a longer walk than we were expecting so we stopped off about half way for a late lunch then continued on our way. We chased Boomer all around Manly and eventually caught up to him at an amazing location with great views! With a little bit of searching we soon had the Cache In Hand and performed the signing duties before returning the cache and its cammo to the original hiding spot. Signed Log, Took Nothing Left Nothing. Thanks for the adventure and for bringing us here, and Thanks For The Cache Tyreless!

29/12/13* 9:59 AM. Cache #1167. More clearing out caches in Manly this morning. From start to finish it was about 3.5 hours but there was a big pause in the middle. I started by parking, sometime between 6:30 and 7 AM very close to this cache's GZ. (Without knowing it, and without paying much attention to the topical street name. It just seemed a good central point from which to tackle this cache and others around). Walked to Fairlight to start this off in what began as a very blustery morning.

Kicked off the cartridge on my iPhone some time towards 7:00 and made good time through most of the waypoints, getting to North Steyne within an hour. First came unstuck at the windmills (I approached along Smith Street and could see the windmill but couldn't get close enough. Made my way to the back and that was close enough).

Then I got really stuck trying to give one of the characters a phone number. Contacted the CO, kept looking everywhere else for another number, but getting nowhere. I left, and went off to find a couple of Doctor Whos ("Sky Sharks" and "Wishing Well"). Then headed towards "The Bower" but decided on breakfast instead at the Mambo shop/café near Fairy Bower. Tyreless got back to me, so I abandoned "The Bower" and walked back with my breakfast to the last waypoint. The number was still not present but the cartridge is going to be updated with the numbers that are visible from this spot. Anyway, I was able to proceed, got to the end and found the cache pretty quickly after all that. So, like I said, most of the time taken was actually during the pause.

Great whereigo, Tyreless, and worth all the time I took and the time you would have taken putting it together. Thanks for the help and a fave point for sure! TFTC }:)

(* I kept thinking it was the 30th all day so that's probably what's in the log book).

Thanks KRS. One of the clues had indeed gone missing. I have updated the cartridge with the replacement clue.

If you had previously downloaded the cartiridge you should delete the version you had and install the new version (version 1.5 or later). If you are stuck in the field with the old version contact me and I'll give you the old (missing) number.

This was our first stop today all be it a lot later then we planned. After sleeping through alarms I events
Oh joined forces once again with the infamous Jordsauband AlphaDeltaIndego and off we went. We started this one around 1pm. By the time we were making the way off to north style we decided enough was enough and had to stop for food. Ate at a great little fish and chip place called "Four Fish" was great quality food and very reasonable. After lunch off we went. Unlike KRS we had no issues finding the number required it was there all be it not as big as the other number in the sign. Continued on our way until we found boomer. What a view what a great statue. Not many lisk that around these days. SL at 3.08pm in good time. Took a few shots will post later and make the 1200m walk back to thencar at the start of this cach.

Who this marks my first whereigo cache. Fave point awarded for this cache I thoroughly enjoyed it big walk but made great by good shoes and good company for a great cache. And also the fish and chips was amazing. TFTC

I have updated the cartridge to improve the compatibility with Garmin devices following Team Canary's glitches. This should make it run smoother on those devices. There is no change to the iphone/android version.

Today I returned armed with the iPhone Wherigo app.

It was a fun enjoyable cache, especially when I knew the answers from yesterday!?!

How could I not have noticed the final location in my trips to Manly?

A failed Wherigo as the Cartridge kept freezing on Waypoint 8,9 and then for good at 10 on the Oregon.

Another fun adventure by Tyreless. After finally earning my smiley for Mr Funder's Rotunda I decided to try a few more Wherigo caches. I really enjoyed the stroll around Manly and it was great to learn a bit more of the history of the area. The puzzles were fun (and luckily not too hard), I got to see some new parts of Manly and GZ was a nice surprise (not what I was expecting at all). Once I located the final cache, I signed the log and left the TB I'd picked up earlier in the day. Congratulations on another well put together Wherigo Tyreless - have a favourite point.

Reperio at 1500.

I came down from Newcastle today for matters other than caching...however there was always time to find a few, and I was looking forward to checking this one out. Today was a perfect day for a walk around Manly, and the views looking out to see while walking around completing this cache reminded me why I always love returning here. As I neared the end of the cache, I must admit I did have a thought of 'where is this all going'...but as I approached the final point, a big smile came across my face as not only did I learn where it was all going, but it was the perfect end point for the cache. Not only was this a well put together wherigo, but the history learned along the way and the final waypoint all came together nicely to make one of the better wherigo's I've completed. An easy favourite point to give.

Gratias Tyreless.

My very first Wherigo Cache.
Had the most fun on this one, met some locals and revisited some places I have been before, my sone came with me who is doing history at school so it was also educational for him.
I had a little trouble with accuracy on my iPhone but it was not hard to work out.

I think I will be looking for more of these type of caches. Thanks heaps Tyreless.

We have had our eyes on this one since it came out, trying to find a nice day with some free time so that we could get it, and that day was today - we also managed to make this cache our 300th, a day before our first anniversary of starting geocaching!

When we set off from home for a long walk, and reached Location 1, we began our quest to find Boomer. We had no problems until Location 5, where the GPS on our iPad wouldn't register where we were, even though we knew we were in the right place! After about 10 minutes of waiting, Geoboy had to run back to Location 1 at the beginning to restart on his phone, so that we could use that instead.

After the delay we had no more problems, enjoying the tour around Manly. The final location was really suitable [^], and the storyline was really fun to follow. It was lucky the Geokids had played the puzzle game from where some familiar pictures and questions came Wink!

Overall, thanks heaps Tyreless for the great cache, we can tell lots of effort went in, definitely worthy of a fave point. It took us just over two hours after the delay at the start.

TFTC Tyreless!

P.S. It seems we missed Team Manahan by just a few minutes as they weren't in the log when we found the cache, yet 15 minutes later at the bus stop they had already logged the cache! So close!

Yayyy! STF and my first Wherigo! (European caches often list FTF, STF, and TTF, so I'll claim my silver medal even though Aussies don't seem to reward also-rans.)

I have wanted to try a Wherigo for some time, but didn't have an appropriate player. Then I recently got the iPhone app, and waited for a good Wherigo to come along. Returned a few days ago from a trip to the Barrier Reef, delighted to see this one had popped up in my absence. Many thanks, Tyreless! Setting one of these up is no simple task, and you did it very well indeed!

Had a few glitches along the way, but they were mostly of my own doing. One waypoint led me to a wrong phone number, but I think that was the satgods farting and I soon saw the correct one, which was OBVIOUSLY the one to use. It took me just under two hours to the end--and then I had to hustle back to my car, because the end of this cache is about a 15 minute walk from the start, where I'd parked in a 2 hour zone. Be forewarned, future finders.

This won't be my last Wherigo. The tasks were fun, the walk was nice, and I liked the history. I had never seen the place at the end, but it gave me a chuckle. Now I just want to know, if instead of picking the nice options in the tasks, I picked the mean ones, would I still find the kangaroo??!

18-Mar-13
You can submit as many wrong answers as you like - you will be taken back to the question and asked to try again. You will still be able to find the kangaroo so long as you eventually put in the correct answer. Actually, half the fun of creating the cache was making up the responses to the wrong answers - I'd encourage people to put in wrong answers at first to see what happens! Plus, remember to drink plenty of water....
