Decided to head to Geraldton to pick up all the new caches that had recently come out and also rectify some of our previous DNFS. Had a good days caching with 57 finds and amazingly only 1DNF. Most of the caches were quickly found. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches
Thank you! In Geraldton for the last day of a mini holiday. Happy to make the find here.
Finally removing the Blue Sad Faced DNF Blip from my map and claiming a smiley for Separation Point. This has been a nemesis for some time and I have had several visits. This is my first visit since relocation and replacement and I'm more than happy to see the Happy Face. Thanks for maintaining this TeamBastholm
Touring from Tasmania and stopped here after a big shop in town. Quick find on cache.
Clever hide. Found by our overseas visitor friend who was brand new to geocaching. Think we have a new member!
We awoke to another beautiful day in Geraldton, fantastic after the two windy, wet days when we first arrived. so what better thing to do than to head out geocaching again.
Yesterday we worked in the central art of town and down round the port so today we decided to head out a bit to the south, along the top of the rise first then returning along the coast.
It was a mixed day with a number of well crafted caches, a number in need of maintenance and some great hides. With the outstanding views it was a great day.
As a D4 we both got out of the car to look for this one. We expected a long and possibly unfruitful search. Fortunately for us something caught our eye as we approached that was quite similar to a hide we have at home so we were most fortunate to make a relatively quick find.
A well crafted hide which we appreciated.

After a morning doing domestic chores and grocery shopping we finally got to head off caching again.
Parked up the top and then walked down for a quick find here.
A nice spot to visit and a well placed cache.
Thanks.

Another container that had buried itself after so long without a find. Not a soul in sight here this afternoon. Thanks for the hide.
Found on our first full day of our caching trip to Geraldton for the annual International Geocaching Day Event.
We arrived late Friday night, getting in just before midnight due to one of us finishing work about an hour later than planned! Stopping for a couple of simple Park and grabs along the way to keep our caching streak alive and enjoyed a quick feed for a late dinner in Jurien Bay.
We started the day with a bit of a later start after a small caching foray to find the new letterbox hybrid cache in town so we got up around 830 to start the caching day.
We curled up locally and headed around the suburb of Tarcoola, and had a large number of DNFs there, sitting around 40% find rate through the area, which was quite frustrating. We cached around the area attempting every cache on the Tarcoola Map before heading out to Bluff Point for the IGD event at the wintersun hotel, which we knew quite well having stayed there on our last trip whilst heading to the northwest.
We had a great pub lunch and enjoyed a cold beer whilst chatting to local cachers squash2 and reticbob regaling stories of some of the infamous caches around town that they either own of have had the pleasure of finding. Reticbob told us of his and others caches on the Moresby Range, which had only just been re enabled after the property changed hands.
We had to make tracks after the event to get the find rate up so teamed up with Team Ruphace who are from Melbourne but are staying in dongara and cached out bluff point with a significant amount of success before thinking we weren't that far from the Moresby Range so made the call to the land manager (this is a must - please respect this great spot so others can continue to enjoy it) and got the all OK to head to the northern side of the property, with the south off limits.
This would be my favourite part of our caching day, the Moresby Range is simply amazing, a MUST do if you come to Geraldton. Views forever. I won't say too much, you can get here and see it for yourself. Just please ring ahead (read the cache listings)
After the Moresby Range caches we headed back towards the centre of Geraldton where we kept finding cache after cache except for a few which need some serious CO attention. We managed to tick off a few nemesis caches including bluff point lighthouse, out and about erosion, tanked at the RSL and a few others, which was most satisfying.
We bid farewell to our companions after finding twenty odd caches together, which was most enjoyable and made finding it a bit easier with four sets of eyes at most caches.
We had a nice noodle dinner and got prepared to find a few more caches by torchlight around central Geraldton. The highlight of the evenings caching was another trip to the HMAS sydney memorial which is my favourite spot to visit in Geraldton. We followed the map around collecting the answers some of which I knew off the top of my head given my love of history and "the Sydney" we collected the puzzle cache for Cravo10 who somehow hadn't found it.
Overall a big day attempting around 60 caches with 40 finds, in around 12hours. Looking forward to finding some caches along the Chapman river tomorow on our final day of our short Geraldton getaway. Thanks to the local COs for their caches.

Out on IGD in Geraldton for the 3rd year in a row with Barnzy12.
We started the morning a little late compared to a usual geocaching weekend however we did only get into town at midnight so a 8.30 start was early enough!!
The morning started with a extremely poor Find rate at around 40% found. We then headed to the Event and enjoyed a pub lunch and a pint of beer and that would see the luck turn there after.
After the event we headed off with Team Ruphace Matthew and Cathy finding around 20 caches with them.
The highlight was following the lead of reticbob and getting the caches in Moresby Range, going through private land that offered sensational views.
Overall a great day out in Gero, looking forward to seeing some of you again soon at WA Goes Big in Rockingham on the 9th September

At last! We can finally say we have found Separation Point geocache, it's been a long time coming! We tried many times to find the original cache to no avail- this morning while down around town we decided to try again. After a short hunt the cache was found!
Thanks Team Bastholm

Great little hide here.Had to go fetch a tool to extract though as it was wedged in quite firmly. TFTC,Teambastholm.
Stopped at this cache whilst on a roadtrip with Eliktrisiti. We didn't find as many caches in the Geraldton area as we had hoped for, and after being home for a week or so, I have decided that the motto I would adopt for these logs would be this: It isn't the destination that is important, it is the journey!
In a nutshell, we had fun and that is what it is all about. Great company, lots of interesting locations, good variety of caches, even got to meet one of the local geocachers while out and about, and of course, we came home with a whole swag of smileys.
This cache was found early on the second day. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache TeamBastholm and for showing us around the Greenough/Geraldton area.

Another smiley added here today on our way towards home from a 5 week Kimberley and Pilbara break TFTC
We are heading out of Geraldton today but couldn't resist grabbing a few more caches before we hit the highway south. Good camo and co-ords pretty good too. Would have liked to have grabbed a couple more caches along here but the muggles were out dog walking, jogging or just gawking. Thanks TeamBastholm
The last day in Geraldon and just time for a last few cache find. Thanks TeamBastholm
We were traveling down the WA coast, having left Adelaide and up to Darwin, when we stopped a few days in Geraldton.
Today as Di rested I found and signed a few caches along the beautiful coast.
I am giving this one a favourite point, but on reflection it probably have two.

We are up here from mandurah for IGD 2016, after starting work at 7am yesterday, finishing at 2.30pm and then a 7 hour drive because of geo-pup and her frequent stops we finally have GC in hand!

Hi there TeamBastholm.
We found your cache **"Separation Point"** at 11:00:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14302.
We have travellied from Darwin to Geraldton via the inland route - Newman, Meekatharra, Mount Magnet, etc. Now ew are here we plan to cache the area for a week or so.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today, even if we did have a few DNF's. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 4 metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Day 4 of our road trip to Geraldton and a wet miserable day in Geraldton not conducive to getting out and exploring the area and doing allot of caching. So we looked up the high FP caches and targeted those with a couple of others near to other places we visited. Ended up seeing a few of the sights and frequent visits to coffee shops kept the cold at bay .
A quick find once we got the correct GZ. Nicely done hide.
Thanks for the cache TeamBastholm [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry .
This was find # 5 of 8 and 1 today giving us a total cache count of 3184.

Had to take a step back on this one to see the bigger picture. A very nice spot for morning tea and watching the sunrise over Geraldton. TFTC
Very fiddly to get this one out. Once found, turns out I had been looking at GZ but not realized you could move the thing blocking the entrance, so to speak.
Great hide, great spot. TFTC!

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks TeamBastholm (F=757 H=55) for placing this cache.

Found with micaparamedic. A quick find as some damage has been done to the hiding spot I am afraid.
Found by Mary & David at 1615. Loved the area and the views. Our thanks to TeamBastholm.
I rolled up to GZ on the pushbike
And found the cache in about 10 seconds flat
Sometimes I think that the pushbike just knows where the cache is hiding,
and makes me lean it on the cache hiding place ...
... then I normally go wandering around looking for the cache elsewhere,
before returning to the bike to grab a can of fizzy cola and spying the cache next to the pedal
No delays this time.
The cache hide was obvious
TFTC !!
PS: Cache notes need updating
There is no "low fence to be crossed".

Unfortunately Mother Nature has struck and our cache has completely been covered by sand. We will rethink this hide and hopefully have it up and running again soon
Yet another fruitless attempt at this nasty critter. I'm even in direct contact with the CO who is almost holding my hand to find it but still no success. Have saved this for our 800th find so we are determined.
The only thing I got while hunting for this cache was a truck load of sand in my eyes
Checked on this cache with the geograndkids as there were a couple of DNF. Definitely still there.
Finally found this one thanks to a certain young lady for a wee hint

Out to get a few more finds after doing tour guide duty at the HMAS Sydney II memorial. Found this one quickly by following the last finds footprints.
Phoned a friend on this one because we were running short on time before we had to make our way home! We have really enjoyed your caches on our visit here to Geraldton this one was recommended for us and we weren't disappointed! What a sneaky bit of camo your attention to detail with your hides is to be commended they make this game a lot of fun! Have another favourite point from us! TFTC

Have had a look a couple of times and can't find this one. New fence is plastic so not sure if it's been replaced recently. Was hoping to make this our 150th find.
Out and about exploring Geraldton today and collecting some smilies along the way. We approached this with some trepidation and as GeoJ and GeoR discussed the GZ and possible hiding spots GeoL popped his head up with a "I think this could be it". We have heard that many times before however this time he was right! Amazing work here! TFTC TeamBastholm! A fave from us
Woooohoooo finally got this one. First day I went to get it was when the put the fences up. Amazing cami. Tftc. My international geocaching day pen is getting a workout today
No luck here on our first visit, but hoping to gleen a clue at the event and we will return
In town for Geraldton's International Geocaching Day Event. After the event we collected a few more caches unfortunately this wasn't one of them, even with help from the CO. Will try and have another look in the morning before we leave town.
Thank god this didn't take me as long as most TB caches do! Great hide, the co-ordinates were spot on for me today TFTC
Yay the fence has been taken down so the cache is up and running again in its original location.
Since this area has been fenced off for nearly a year and we can't see that being different any time soon we have decided to move this cache. Stay tuned for the updated coordinates in the next couple of weeks.
As mentioned in prevous posts, the area is fenced off due to erosion so even if we do archive it nobody else can place a cache here. We are keeping an eye on it and when and if they remove the fence our cache will be up and running again.
We are temopararily diabling this geocache while we wait and see what is happenning about the erosion.
We were amazed about our self. A cat. 4 and many DNF's and we found it within a couple of minutes. Great camo though. Good start of the day for us . TFTC TeamBastholm, a favorite comes to you!
FTF at 3.20PM 9.04.13.
An appointment at the dentist was over quicker than I thought so I nipped over to have another go at this one. Sat on the bench for 10 minutes acting like a tourist while waiting for the real tourists to finish their photos and leave. Actually turned out to be a quick find this time, after 2 previous DNF visits. A well executed hide, gets a favourite point for sure. SL TFTH TeamBastholm, your getting sneakier and sneakier.

In town today so we had a look for this which was difficult with all the people coming and going. They are on you without any warning which can embarrassing
Had a look at all the obvious and not so obvious within 10 metres of what we thought was GZ but no luck. Will try again. TFTH TeamBastholm

We went back today to check on it, we triple checked the coordinates and our GPSs were within 5 metres of it. It is a difficult one so have a good look.
BOO
Where is everyone?
I'm wondering why this is still undiscovered.
I made some time early today hoping to be able to look without interruption by hopeful kite surfers, board-riders, lunchtime lookers, lovebirds or anyone else just passing. I managed quite well scrambling around until the point where I had my head in a rather smelly place and I happened to look up to see a rather amused woman walking her dog. Bit hard to know what to do, where to look next or what to say in a situation like that. Rather embarrassing.
Didn't see anything at the new coordinates but that didn't surprise me knowing how creative TeamBastholm can be. It must be there somewhere.
I wandered to the old coords and checked out anything in between. Still no luck.
Will try again when I can acquire the services of a sentry.
