A lovely spot out of the way I kept struggling to find the GZ But then looking at the logs, they gave me the final clues Realizing that Id almost been on top of it a number of times.Again, lots of flies out today and a good find on a sunny and warm afternoon TFTC
Left home early for a day's caching in the Gawler to Bolivar area to see if I could achieve a Personal Best month. Most caches were in good condition, but there were some on the Gawler to Port Adelaide trail that needed maintenance that I didn't have with me. TFTCShort walk to a nice find.
After a nearby event, doineedthis and I headed into the wilds of the Gawler Belt where we had solved a mystery or 40 and just had to find them As we are driving by here we decided to stop and find this cache. I wonder how many people drive by here and dont realise there is a cemetery hidden in these trees.TFTC NibsKeep smiling
In the middle of the Anna Tommy series theres this one. Not what I was expecting when we stopped here. I can see why it has so many favourite points. Thanks for bringing us here, heres another favourite point
A trad tucked amongst other cache types, and a nice hide here. A rustling in the bushes had me hopeful of a lizard sighting, nope it was a red fox, much bigger than the British counterparts. All good with the find, nice container too. Thanks for highlighting this interesting place. After starting the day doing the first 10 in the PATOGs I found 3 more at the Gawler end before attempting to reconstruct Anna, or Tommy. Good to be caching over this way again. I will put specific cache-related comments as I post. I seemed to mostly sign in just behind NZ cacher bullertrout. I also signed alongside some geo-stamps which took up 4 or 5 lines. Sad to see so much fly-tipping on the quieter back roads, some wasn't even dumped off the road but on it. A nice day to be out and about though. The last full day in town after my original plans to stay til Monday were changed. I had some admin stuff to tidy up before I could think about doing anything for myself so those were attended to via some messaging to and from NZ. I headed out for a walk along the cycleway besides the Expressway and managed a first few PATOG caches, esp nice now the weather has dropped to a much more palatable 19 -25 degrees for the daytime, yay. Following that it was back for some more work stuff before heading out to Gawler to head around the delightful Anna Tommy series of caches (and collateral extras). I was lucky that a recently made acquaintance was able to help me with the series of solves, thanks sooooo much for that. Then it was time to cache in the richness and make the finds, I was not disappointed. And so South Australia, so long and thanks for all the cache(s). I think this March will be my most bountiful month since I started caching, not bad considering I missed out on 3 days, by choice, and today is only 20th of the month. Alas my NZ pickings are slim so back to a more sedentary pace of finds. One last time, thanks to all the COs whose finds make this game so awesome.
#14,416. After a big day yesterday doing the wherigo art series, Infoferret and I stayed overnight at Lyndoch Hills. Lovely rooms and setting. Highly recommend this accommodation provider. We are heading south today to stay at Robe. At this stage I had no idea how far away that was!!! But I digress. Today we were targeting caches to fulfil the requirements of the A-Z and 0-9 challenge and wanted a cache starting with 6. So we drove way a long way across the landscape to get this one. Interesting little reserve and cemetery. Although the cache was obvious once seen it still took quite some time to see it. Two of spent probably 10 minutes wandering around until we saw it. Guess it depends on which way you approach GZ. Thanks Nibs for hiding it here.
Found in the middle of doing the Anna Tommy series. An interesting little side excursion. A Garden of life?? Then how come all the graves??A tree had fallen over almost on top of the cache, so getting to it meant taking the long way around. Yeah, okay, it was only another 15 or 20 metres!Found with NZ_B and MrMcgoo, who signed themselves as mmnz.
5 March 2024 11:52 TFTC Nibs for placing this cache, number 13497 for me. A much needed 6 for a challenge, wandered around, taking in the area for a bit. Then GSEL spotted it in an area I had overlooked.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.
(9675) Today is the last full day of our Adelaide excursion. NZ_B and myself got this while completing the Anna Tommy series then drove to Adelaide. Signed the log as MMNZ.Thanks Nibs for taking the time to place this and for bringing me here.
Today Mr Mc-goo and I are completing the Anna Tommy series. It was hot yesterday so we decided to complete the Unicorns. So we are here today with the Seagnoid before we head to Adelaide and fly home to New Zealand on Wednesday. Some caches will be good for the 81 grid challenge and for challenging module of the [GC30AD8](http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC30AD8) DGSC Challenge (West Coast) challenge in NZ - known as the Doctorate of Geocaching Science. Each log is signed MMNZ.Mr-Mcgoo and I are visiting Adelaide for the Mega GCA1DNA The Great Leap Forward on the 29 February. We are finding caches for the fun of finding them, or we are targeting specific caches - puzzles we have solved and caches that will help us complete challenges. Of course, there will be lots of laughter, no doubt at my expense .A huge thank you to all the COs who have placed the caches we find and log today.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Nibs.

Out and about after the One day Mega and an early morning event we are heading up to the Barossa for a day of adventure in the geoarts.Caching with and signing as the group 'QANVT' and having a great day.TFTCache Nibs
TFTC smile19766 ?? out and about on a Sunny day Caching with friends After the Event this morning picking up LGAs on the way signed as QANVT Thank you Nibs for placing this cache for our enjoyment ????
I was in the state for the Leap Year Mega in Adelaide and a group of us from Queensland, ACT, New South Wales, NT, Victoria and Tasmania decided to travel to the Barossa to do the Geoarts plus any other caches that we came across. This was one of those. to save space in the logs we signed as QANVT being the acronym of the states and territories represented. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Im visiting SA for the first time since 2018, here for the Great Leap Forward mega (my first) in Adelaide. Today I was part of the QANVT group finding and signing caches in the Barossa Valley and Gawler area. It was a fantastic day. Tftc
Attending the Great Leap Forward Event in Adelaide, we have travelled down from Brisbane Qld and are having a great time caching in and around Adelaide. Today we have ventured out to the Barossa Valley to tackle the GeoArt caches out here. Beautiful countryside and enjoying the drive.Interesting cemetery cache, love reading the graves especially the age of the people.Log signed as QANVT to save space. All caches were found in good condition. Many thanks for placing these caches.TFTC Nibs
Find # 11674Well here it is, time for another MEGA, and an extra special one to. Its a leap year! ?? ??????? ??So before the main event I decided Id head down to Millicent and surrounds to collect some geoart, and some of the all important (to me) SFE challenges?? Day 7 and another not so hot day today. Today is an out and about around Gawler day, mainly for some geoart with puzzles long ago solved in anticipation of the mega time.Quite a group today, a convoy even, so lots of laughs and fun time that these caching events bring. Signing as QANVT as representative of the States and Territories here today. Thanks Nibs for 611 Parkers Road ??
Signed as part of QANVT, super stoked to be on this mission with this great group.I want to say thanks to the CO fit the placement of this cache series. It was a big drive from Corryong, in the North East of Victoria.I collected a couple of geo caches along the way to fill in some new LGAs. I have collected the south Australia souviner plus the leap year souviner too YAY!! It has been a big few days enjoying Adelaide and the surrounding areas. .So glad to be here
Out and about caching with a group of cachers and to save space on log boos we signed as QANVT. We completed the Barossa and Anna Tommy GeoArt as well as a number of other cachers, which are not part of the GeoArts. Thank you to CO for the placement of the cache. TFTC
A Leap Year Mega drew us to Adelaide. Now that it is over, it's time for some good old group caching. After a lunch break, it is off to find a few more caches. We are using the Acronym QANVT to cover participant from all states. And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 1st March 2024. TFTC, Nibs. I loved being out in the bush.
Attended the Leap Year event in Adelaide yesterday and today was the day set aside to visit the Barossa region to collect the grape geoart, visit Anna Tommy and also a few other interesting caches along the way. Our caching group for the day was Team QANVT.Thanks to all the COs whose caches we visited today and showing us around this lovely region.
Joined the expedition to the Barossa today with Contesta, Cybergranny and Icybeetas in the car and joined up with others covering all the eastern states plus NT. Signing caches as QANVT standing for Queensland, ACT, NSW and NT, Victoria and Tasmania. Great company and great fun and some great caching for the day. Started with the Barossa geoart and collected a few other local caches on the way. Tftc
Ive headed to SA to attend the Great Leap Forward mega in Adelaide. So far our journey has found us in Bendigo, St Arnaud, Halls Gap and Mount Gambier, Millicent and Victor Harbor and lots of places in between. Ive targeted some geo art on the way over including the GV2020 and crayfish series, wine glass and wine bottle and challenge series. We are targeting another geo art series today, signing as QANVT which represents Queensland and ACT northern territory, Victoria and Tasmania
The Leap Day MEGA drew me here to this lovely State, and gave many of us the opportunity of completing the GeoArt trails Id solved months ago in preparation.Participating with the QANVT team we had 4 different States in our car. Thanks to Contesta, our wonderful chauffeur from ACT, plus barb2E representing Queensland, icybeetas from Tasmania and Cybergran V from Victoria, we had a wonderful trip today. All caches logged as QANVT.Thanks for placing and maintaining this traditional cache found amidst the GeoArt.
After attending an early morning event in Walkerville I headed out as part of Team QANVT to attack the Barossa Geo Art series. This is the first time Ive completed a piece of art as part of a team, a lot of fun and a great crew of people. Picked up a few additional caches along the wayA big thanks to the cache owner for making this series available to be found.Cheers
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.We signed as the large group called QANVT to save room in the logbooks.Thank you, Nibs, for this good hide.
Found while over for the Mega Event with tmann421Heading inland to get some more of the trails, picking up whatever gets in the way.Enjoyed the hides. Thanks to the cache owners for their efforts
Plans were made to attend the SA mega although our plans changed as both of our team couldn't go due to other commitments. So with that being sorted we booked everything and only made it a short visit to SA this time. Flew into SA this morning with Rapidlywild and being neither one of us is a fan of city caching we headed out to do this Anna Tommy series that we have had solved for quiet awhile now. Feeling back at home on the dirt roads although a bit of a rougher ride not being in a 4WD but our hire car still did the trick. All caches were found safe and sound unless mentioned and all logs were stamped. While in the area doing the series we picked this one up along the journey. Thanks for the hide Nibs and thanks for a fun short stint away caching Rapidlywild.
Plans were in place with FurfacesLL #1 to attend the SA single day mega. So bookings for flights, accommodation and car hire were made and off we went. Flew in this morning and our first target for today was the Anna Tommy series. Have had this series solved for quite a while now, however we never seem to be in this area to do them. We made sure that changed today. Was in the area for this one too, so we parked up and went for the wander. You would never know from the road that these graves were here, so its a pretty cool find! No issues with the cache, stamped and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache placement Nibs and thanks to FFLL for another awesome couple days of caching away from home. Looking forward to the next trip.
Found with Jamesta18 today on Australia Day, What a better way than to spend today exploring our beautiful countryside This one has been in my favs for a while, happy to tick this one off the list I love checking out all the old cemeteries, fascinating Seen some lizards along the way, blue tongue and a bearded dragon out basking in the sun TFTC
TFTCOut with geo hubby Animal62 on this the last day of 2013! Hoping to gain a few more smiley faces for our maps before the end of this year.
With some free time before the busy festive period, combined with todays good weather, I decided to head out for a day of caching. The plan was to head out to Two Wells, to target a couple of specific caches, before making my way towards Gawler to attempt some of the Anna Tommy series and a few other surrounding caches. Having found the caches I was after in, and around, Two Wells, I stopped at this cache before starting the Anna Tommy series. Initially, I was not sure about this caches location, it looked like it was hidden between two pieces of private property. If it was not for this cache, and the information given on the cache page, I would have never known that this place existed. Having read the hint, I approached the cache from the right direction and, after a short search, the container was soon in hand. the log was signed, the cache replaced, and I was on my way to the next cache.Find #8191, at 01:49 pmTFTC
Found it! Spent a good 10 minutes plus wandering around the bushes before finally locating this one! #226 TFTC
finally I snaffled this elusive critter. Fourth time lucky. Thanks to a PAF I was talking to about an FTF I had missed by a tail light.Previous two times was with my geodog, who would be laughing over the rainbow bridge somewhere cos he actually sat on it or close near it TWICE! A slightly different and well concealed cache yet, once it was seen, cannot be unseen. No wonder the poor CO just shakes their head in bemused annoyance! Ok so you can have a fave for the adventure. TYFTC SL TN LN
This cache should have been a quick find and it possibly could have been had we put the correct coordinates into our GPX. Once our error had been fixed, we quickly located a different style of cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Nibs for the cache and for bringing us to this interesting resting place and refuge.
A quick stop here whilst completing the Anna Tommy trail. A peaceful and secluded little spot away from the road.
A favourite point from me.
Thanks for the cache Nibs.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 48. Mid North section of SA trip Day 19. Gawler Day 7. Today was a mixed day starting with some more Anna Tommy caches that were difficult to solve, but fun to find. Next was a set of Unicorn caches. The area was still quiet, even though it was now a weekday, and I found the ones I targeted without any problems. I then i wanted to get back on the NEXY bike trail with my scooter, so I selected a set of them to do from Bolivar. It did not go as smoothly as I had hoped, but I made it back to the car without having to walk. After fueling up I headed back to Gawler.
This little reserve that turned out to be an old cemetery was quite an interesting place to visit. A mixture of habitat and old items to look at. Plus a cache.

A quick find, sign and return
Don’t know why peeps are struggling to find this cache, it’s big enough and in the open (e.g. not tucked away in a hidey hole). I guess some cachers are just lazy and not willing to open their eyes

After 3 DNFs in a row, GC HQ emailed me and advised that there might be a problem with the cache.
This cache seems to suffer from bouts of invisibility, and from memory I think this is the third time I have gone out to check it after a bunch of DNFs, only to find it is in EXACTLY the same place I left it, 14 years ago.
And that was exactly what I found when I went out today.
That in itself is pretty odd - 14 years with absolutely no cache-creep is amazing.
I wonder if the clumps of DNFs align in any way with solar flares??
I DID note that my GPSr (not a smart phone) had me 7m from the published GZ today, and I contemplated updating the coords, but decided against it. The cache is not hidden in any way, nor is it camouflaged at all, save for it being a olive-green colour. It is simply placed on the ground, under the branch of a medium-sized bush, and is easily visible from 2-3 metres away (see picture). Many of the 153+ finders have described it as an easy cache - so perhaps just look a bit harder and get yourselves an ACTUAL GPS that has a decent antenna.
I'll add a Noddy's guide as a hint on the cache page.
As a slight aside, you should always keep in mind when hunting caches that NO civilian GPSr is capable of accuracy better than 3m, but the vagaries of the system and the geometry of the satellites at any particular time will almost always mean no two readings will be identical.
And I can't even guess the EPE (estimated position error) that a mobile phone brings into the equation.

I haven't been caching for ages and thought I'd have a go as the weather is so beautiful but I am having no luck at all. I know once I find one I'll be off and running but it is not happening today. Going to try one more spot and if it's a bust I'm calling it a day
#19292. Day 16 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. Our 2nd day staying in Tanunda (and already we have extended our 3 night stay to 5). With a wet forecast for the day we decided caching by car was preferable to caching by bike and I think that was the right choice.
Well, what a surprise this cache was. A tiny, historic cemetery with several graves laid out but no headstones and also a few tiny crosses. The ones with headstones always make interesting reading. Thanks for bringing this piece of history to our attention.

Day sixteen of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
With a crappy forecast we set off to Gawler to do the Anna Tommy series and some shopping.
The morning wasn't too bad, but we still got soaked shoes and pants due to the long very wet grass and Oxalis. This combination also made the finding difficult.
This was an unexpected find. There is not sign at the entrance to suggest what can he found here.
Enjoyed the short walk in this area.
Thanks, Robmc.

We've made a nice early start to our geocaching day given how hot it's going to be today. This was one we targeted and found. Thanks Nibs a great location. Took us a while to spot the cache the flys were trying to help but they weren't . Fav point alloc
Found by Mary and David at 15:22. Still a FP from M before she set foot down from the GeoPrado. She loves these places for the graveyard architecture, the carved symbolism and social history that can be seen on the headstones. A bit bizarre having a table and seats there. Our thanks to Nibs.
An interesting cache visited while I’m in the area to pick up a few puzzle caches. You wouldn’t know about what’s in here without this cache bringing you in. I had trouble with the gate, so just straddled the wires. Cache wasn’t in what I thought was the likely spot. Thanks for bringing me here Nibs.
Wow what a charming hidden gem of history. Note to self. Work shoes not the right footwear.
Found on the way home from an orienteering event at the Roseworthy campus. Wow, if it wasn't for the cache here I never would have stopped. What a great location and the old headstones where worth a look after the cache had been replaced. Definitely worth a favourite point!
Thanks for the cache Nibs.

Thanks for the cache Nibs. I circled the tree at GZ for no result. Widened the search and spotted it from a distance. The right angle was required. Btw coords spot on. Great cache and spent some time reading the headstones. Significant history. 226 years incredible What a great spot thanks for bringing me here
After a previous DNF here in the dark, this time I returned in the daylight. A search around areas I walked the previous time saw me spotting the container this time. Glad to clear up a blue frowny.

So after 28 days of quarantine after I arrived back in Australia from the UK it was definitely time for a big caching day out.
Spent a while in hotel quarantine solving the newish Anna Tommy series so this seemed like the perfect group of caches to head to today. Added in a few trads to make for a full day of caching.
In the end found 55 caches and 2 dnf for the day. After doing not much for a month I was cream crackered by the end of the day.
It was a glorious day for caching, perfect winter day with sunshine and blue skies.
This was a random place for a cemetery/park. Wished I had brought my lunch from the car and enjoyed at the picnic table. Nice find here TFTC
