Took a while for this find. The winter weeds had done a good job of camouflaging the critter
Last one of the trail! Thanks a lot for hiding it was great fun! Took me a while to find this one, but mainly because there was so much wildlife arround.
New this was the place but the pest was a little elusive. Couldn't believe it had taken me so long once i spotted it. Found with XavMat.
This cache did a great job t helping me get my 10 000 steps today. AusLoron, cachestro and I were working together to grab caches in the park, and had been taking turns at being the chief navigator. Our approach to this cache could accurately be described as circuitous, literally. We followed the paths looping around GZ, walking circles around the cache. At one stage I decided to split off into the bush, which resulted in me being at the top of the limestone gorge and cachestro and AusLoron walking the expected path through the bottom. We managed to meet up at GZ eventually (and without bodily injuries). AusLoron and her keen eyes found the cache after we all hunted for a few minutes. Thanks for creating a fun adventure through the bush which even gave us an excuse to yell "marco!" ... "polo!" back and forth at each other. Cheers
Geohubby was being very galant here & insisted that I did not try this one as he thought that the terrain was too difficult for me....having said that he didn't find it!! I will have to sneak back without him & have a look.
Checked this one and moved it a bit. The next cacher should be able to spot the pest peeking out from it's nook.
Looks like someone has been living in the gorge. Quite a strenuous climb and hazardous descent, but we eventually spotted the critter. TFTC
Out for a few smile in the manning lake bushland
First one for the day, was a bit worried with all the rustling in the bushes but spotter the creepy critter and was on my way

With Jimmytherat after a bit of a search found the little critter behind us. Thanks for the creepy cache
I reckon the critter was watching and laughing at us while we were trying to find this one.thanks again Firnsy.
I was looking for a good series to complete today that would allow me to find my 500th, and decided that the Manning Park caches would be the ones to go for. I borrowed my dad's Garmin eTrex 20 GPS during the week, and thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to try it out. Had to use my iphone for this one though, as I had accidentally missed it when loading the caches on to the GPS. I approached this one from the top of the hill, so didn't access it via the gully. and it took a while for the phone to settle. When it did, I spotted the critter quickly. TFTC.
Headed out to find a few caches today & our destination was Manning Park. This one turned out to be a bit of a mission Probably because I had put the wrong cache in my GPSr!!! Jase was adamant about the way to this cache, but of course I argued that he was taking us the wrong way After doing some crazy miles, I realised my error & was soon sheepishly following along behind [:o)]
TFTC firnsy... This was a very interesting location & I have since taken the time to find out some history of the old ruins here [^] Cache was quickly found once we got to GZ when I had the feeling that some little critter was watching me!

Another great cache in the series. I filled in the final log entry and didn't have a spare sorry. Thanks for the cache
Found straight away today after a recent DNF must have just been having a bad day last time, thanks for bringing us here its a great area with a lovely park for the kids also.
Tried this one earlier today, but after doing some of the others today i caught on to how this might look. So swung by on way back to car for another look, and voila, cache caught. TFTH
We were not having a good day today with only 1 find out of 4, we will be back though to finish off this series. thanks for bringing us here firnsy.
Woo! All puffed out after racing Connor101 up the hill. Awesome find. New fav spot
An enjoyable day following the Manning Bushland cache trail. Very peaceful today. Well placed caches.
Thanks for the series
Thanks for the series
This series has been on my radar for some time now and today was the day for a stroll around these paths. Most of the caches were easy to find due to spot on coordinates and there was a nice variety of containers and terrain.
Final cache in the series and a favourite from me. I spied the wee fella pretty quickly although the vegetation he is attached to did not want me to sign the log. A couple of scratches later I was on my way again. TFTC and series firnsy it was a pleasant mornings caching

After making our way to GZ, we stopped for a quick breather before commencing our search. I used this time to check over some previous logs (I'm getting really hot and bothered now)
With a fair idea what we were searching for we started looking. I think we spent close to 30min here and were unable to locate the cache.
Im sure its there somewere, everyone else has managed a find. Perhaps another day.
Thanks for the hunt Firnsy.
(We will continue this series another day, we'd had enough for today by this stage.)

Increased difficulty to 2 as people seem to have trouble with this one. Will take the geo-dog up there for a walk this week and check the cache.
We spent a lonnngggggggg time searching for this one.
GPS kept taking me to same spot for GZ but for the life of me I couldn't see it.
Widened the search a little but still no luck......didn't help that I left my glasses at home.
Really had enough of the heat & sun by now, so its time to leave and wait for the weather to cool before coming back to finish what we started.
TFTH anyway firnsy

The cache had become dislodged from it's hiding spot ... I found it on the ground and reattached it to the host object. It's good to go, but I will come back with some more wire to make it more secure.
Out for an early morning walk / bike ride in Manning Park. My first time in the area and was quite surprised by how hilly and rocky the area is. Nice gorge here. It took me ages to find this one. I almost gave up about five times before having one more look in the place I was most certain it should be. TFTC firnsy
With a cool day forecasted, we decided to do a couple of small trails in the area.
We started with the Manning Bushland Trail, which was an easy walk with good
views of the surrounding area. They were all well hidden and in good condition.
Thanks for the hunt today, firnsy.

So here we are at Manning Bushland to try our luck. This is the first time over this way, we're usually over in the hills somewhere.
Started at #7 for some unknown reason so now we're on a countdown. Had a quick find here, signed the log and proceeded to #6.

WE have had this series of caches on our "to do" list for some time and today was such a lovely day for a stroll. This was number 8 for the day for us and as the coordinates were spot on it was a easy find. We were not looking forward to a day searching for nanos and bilson tubes in the bush but the CO has gone just that step further to make the experience a pleasurable one. Please accept a well earned fav for your efforts in setting up and maintaining this series.
TFTC Good job firnsy!!

Yeah have to agree Tadpole114 was a fav of mine too. Love the suspense of discovery! Thx for a great day out firnsy!
Have been walking our dog in this area for quite a few years and kids used to called this little canyon the fairy grotto. This one gets a favourite point from me! That camouflaged bug is a very cute critter indeed!! Was leading the way with fifthdegree bring up the rear and when I reached GZ, fifthdegree said "I can already see it, just step back here!" Ha! very cute, I had walked straight past him with my eyes firmly fixed on the GPS, counting down the numbers, while he had his eyes firmly fixed on me, watching the whole proceedings! We stopped our run on this one, still have a couple of the series to go, thought we would save some for next time. Thanks firnsy....we will return to conker the rest of the critters!
Checked this one while walking the dog in the park. Secured it a bit more tightly in its location. All good.
Found with richlink in the steady rain. Some interesting hides thanks firnsy.
Mr iluvtrekking accompanied geo-hubby to do most of this series. After completing the Gnome series the previous weekend this was apparently pretty tame in comparison although a bit of bush bashing was involved. They met us at the other end of the reserve thoroughly drenched in the now steadily falling rain. Thanks firnsy
[:(!] Went for a six hour caching run and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GC37DH1 ( K & C 043 - Manning Machinery Madness) and then walked the circuit of Manning Park, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

It was with some trepidation that Mistraluna and I set off to do this series, as the darkening clouds were getting lower and lower. But we braved the weather and set off on an energetic circular trail around this Manning Bushland, picking up quite a few caches on the way, to make it all a great fun way to get some exercise. The rain held off for about half of the journey only, but we were tough, and eventually made it back to the comfort and warmth of the car with 10 caches under our belt!
Thanks for this well set out series of caches firnsy.
Thanks for this well set out series of caches firnsy.
As per urch's log entry, the weather wasn't the best, but we thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the caches around here today. Not even the rain could spoil it for us. Will be back for the last one when it is replaced. Thanks firnsy

After belng cooped up in the house for most of the last week, decided to take the opportunity on cache around Fremantle today. Lots of fun revisiting some of these spots again.
A great walk this morning around the trails and paths of this bushland. Found the pest after looking at lots of other spots,
[:o)]
Thanks for the cache Firnsy[^]

Oh Firnsy, you ar a tricker. I am just happy to see you don't only do nano's! And the cache container gave us a giggle. I am a sucker for a bushwalking, so when we saw the series in this area I knew it was for me. We thought we could nick off a few before nightfall. We loved the ruins on the way in, and will look up more about this area!
Down the limestone bit, up the other side. Tangled in a spider web, had flashbacks of gnomes. Then after a few ungnome like words made the find. Loved the camo here. Clever. A fave for this one. TFTC Firnsy.
OK, fairly bucketing down now.
trevkevred found some shelter and I went on the hunt alone.
By the time I got near GZ I was soaked, my glasses were fogging up and
I couldn't read the screen. Well that's my excuse.
Have to come back another time.
Thanks for the series it was fun.

Enjoyed walk series and extra 2 = 9 caches in Manning area. Start at Manning Bushland Trail #1 - approx over 2 and half hours to comeplete all 9 caches - plenty of time - took photos etc... Last cache for the day. Very impressed to see gorge limestone and historic Davilak homestead (so big homestead) - found pest one and signed the log at 13:40pm. Thanks firnsy
Well, I had done a little bit of homework before leaving home ( just a LITTLE) Loved the entry to this cache. A bit puzzled once I got close to GZ. ( beautiful rock formation & greenery en-route). So to cut a long story short : I thought that I would have to climb a big cliff face & felt a bit puzzled when I could not find one: puzzled & a little disappointed. I had nearly given up, read previous logs & found the really cool cache ...

A lovely morning for a run through the bushland, everything is sparkling in the morning sunlight after the overnight rain but my shoes did get quite soggy.
This was my first one so I wasn't quite sure what the description meant and I was searching all sorts of possiblities but it eventually jumped out at me and the find was made.

A free morning with Keego in Manning. Nice sunny weather made the walk very pleasant.
Our last one for the day. Saw the cache container and not the creature it was attached to until Keego moved it.

Out and about with AmstradKid and Jazl the wonder dog, in the Cockburn area and decided to scout out the new series around the Manning Lake. A short walk up the track to this GZ, wow AK spotted the container first, then I did as well, but it look us a second glance to notice the great attached container. I wish I could attach 2 favs for this one and one for the series.
SL TFTC firnsy
This area is rich in history, we gathered the large limestone gorge is a probably where they mined the stone for the nearby homesteads. AK also spotted a large open bees nest in a large open limestone hole.
A nice series in a rich historical area, a Fav point for the series and this attached container.

I missed it at first even though I had an inkling of what I was looking for the cache blended well with the object it was on.
Out caching with the dogs and Etching today in perfect weather to get some smilies.
We ran into yonnie33 here again after after a quick chat he went on his way home while we moved on to do the last ones of the series.
Gave this one a favorite for the series for the way you have to get to it, nice.

I notice this is attributed "bikes allowed". I'm sure they are, but I'm glad I didn't have mine today. I took the "firnsy approach" which involved walking a direct line from one cache to the other. This helped minimise time on sandy tracks. Thanks for the micro cache firnsy.
With a new set of batteries of to this one and it did have me looking for a while well I did have the sun in my eyes ? soon spotted. TFTH Firnsy SL.
Headed south with the bike for a ride and to grab some of these new caches. Quickly spotted at the GZ. Lizzar, if you lost your sunglasses I have them. SL TFTC
Joint 2nd to find at 9:23 am with oohyeh and benwas1992!!! Thought we would get out here early to get some first to finds but clearly someone else had the same idea hahahaha TFTC
Second last one for this morning. Initially missed it on arrival at GZ but having stepped back from GZ I then saw the cache.
Thanks firnsy for the cache.
Thanks firnsy for the cache.
I saw this series get published last night and couldnt resist going out there this morning to go and find them. I grabbed geodaughter kristybelle and her boyfriend ben-was-1992 and off we went. I did them in reverse starting at 7 back to number 1 and i definately did number 7 the hard way...I think i thought i was still looking for gnomes as i saw we had to go up so i climbed the rocks then bushbashed to the cache. Once we finally got there we found the cache quickly. We were 2nd TF at 9.20am TFTC firnsy
FTF. Stuck out just nicely for an easy pick up.TFTC The whole series took me just over two hours getting some great exercise.TFTC Fave point added for the whole series!!
