Good cache,good clue(s),good spot/walk.Good clear clues at each stage.Good spot(s)/walk.
Each caching day has an agenda and today I had 2 main targets. One was a multi beginning with the letter Q which I need to qualify for a challenge in the UK in August, the other was a BBTC which would also tick one of my DTs off in the quest to loop 10 times. Well 345km driving and 23,000 steps (according to my fitbit) I ended up with 1 out of 2.
This was the cache I needed to finish my multi A-Z challenge. I set off up the trail at a fair pace, pacing a lady walking her dog on the way. With the way the multi wanders around I'd bump into her a few more times before I was finished. Stage 1 was easy so on to stage 2. I was far from convinced I'd seen all the iron at 2 but as it turned out I needn't have worried. Stage 3 was straight forward and it was time to reverse direction to the crossroads. Stage 4 was equally easy. Stage 5 was a little tricky as the item is very overgrown, well it was, it isnt now. . Stage 6 was an Indiana Jones moment, "Steps, why did it have to be steps".
I have a track record of being out of step with the COs when it comes to counting steps, usually being one over or one under. In this case I must have got it right. On to stage 7 and another straighforward number. The checksum worked first time and the calculated coordinates looked viable.
Arriving at GZ I thought this is where the wheels come off, its all going too well but no, less than a minute of searching with reasonably good coors turned up the cache. It helped that I thought it was in an "obvious" place. But there are lots of potential obvious places.
Enjoyed the walk on a warm but not too hot summers day.

Very enjoyable multi-cache and an example of what a multi cache should be like. Although it was getting late when I started the hunt for the waypoints I managed to get all the answers easy enough. The final cache had to looked for with a torch though and took a bit more time, but was found in the end. TFTC!! +1 FP for the multi and the surroundings!
Second DNF - I thought I'd give this one another go but still no joy. The undergrowth is well cut back from last vist but that didn't help me.
I'll have to re-think my next visit.
