So we looked at the info sign at the base of the hill and it said 500m return, like the cache description, but suggested it would take a tad longer than the cache listing said! Nonetheless, we ascended and ascended and ascended, finally reaching the flagstaff at the top, puffing like a pair of steam trains! From here it was clear that this was an even trickier port to access than it had spread from sea level - why havent they built a much longer jetty?? The hint made for a quick find, thanks. TFTC, endeavour3. =^.^=
On a two week holiday on Norfolk Island stunning vistas everywhere I look, unfortunately the camera doesnt do it justice!Hard to look for caches when the scenery is so stunning and this was no exception. This cache was found in the presence of endeavour3, TeamAstro, Kahlua14 and OzRob. Great company and lots of fun Thank you endeavour3 for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
Cache is a bit wet, tried to dry it out but rain is on the way.Cool facts about the flags too
Worth the walk up the hill. Plenty of seats if needed. Found 7/9/24 but unable to log until home. TFTC
A nice slow walk up the hill saved my heart from splattering. Fabulous view. Quick easy find. A few muggles. Tftc
Slow climb, easy find. Almost certainly our last find on the island during our stay. Thanks to those who have placed, and maintain, all the caches on NI. CheersBundy
Climbed the mountain, saw a great view, could not find the cache. Oh well, 2 out 3 not bad.
You never know when its going to be windy, it comes and goes, but it was a bit of a breezy afternoon which came with accompanying afternoon rain. But the cache was found easily and the hill gives an excellent view of the whole 2nd settlement layout.
Last trad on the island for us to find. Hooray! Retrieved 2 trackables which we will move on. TFTC endeavour3.
Great views were the reward for the effort here.We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Another uphill trek, but the reward of the views was worthwhile. The container was found and the log was signed. Thank you for this cache placement go to endeavour3.

#7524 - NI Day 1After months of anticipation it was great to finally touch down on NI with a group of 30 keen Aussie geocachers. After being shuttled to our accommodation and sorting out the paperwork, there was no time to waste before heading to Mt George to celebrate jackscruff's 6000th cache. The weather was a little drizzly but the scenery was still spectacular overlooking a historic location. Great to get the first run on the board and looking forward to the rest of the week. Thanks for placing endeavour3.
Found it. A wonderful spot to celebrate Jackscruff's 6000 find. Beautiful views and a lovely walk to the top. TFTC
(1 of 4 today)Day one of the Sydney invasion of Norfolk Island - Geocachingly speaking. Our group arrived this afternoon and some took little time before heading off for a find - or two.I was after four today for my calendar, and managed to get them without too much trouble.HUZZAH!###END OF CIT AND PASTE SECTION###With a decent sized portion of our group, came here to celebrate the 6000th find by **Jackscruff**.Made the climb to witness her make the find. Then celebratory photos all around before the rest of us added our names to the log.And what a fantastic view from GZ. Congrats to **Jackscuff** and thanks to the CO.A great start to the week here.SLTNLNTFTC
After well over a year of planning our group of crazy Aussie geocachers have finally reached Norfolk Island. A while ago I realised my 6000th find would occur sometime during our week here so over the last couple of weeks I carefully managed my cache finds and worked it so my tally sat on 5999 when I landed on Norfolk.I wanted to make this find at a memorable place so I asked local cacher endeavour3 for suggestions of the special views. After some research I chose Mt George for its views of the island's historic area which I find so interesting. The weather was overcast with misty rain but I set off with a much larger group of geofriends than I expected in tow as we headed up the track. At the lookout they waited for me to be first to make the find. The views - fantastic!!! Even better than I imagined. The rain didn't dampen the afternoon. It was all so much fun ??.Thanks everyone for sharing this special milestone with me. It made my day!Favourite point for firstly placing a cache at this great location and for all your help in preparation for my milestone find, endeavour3.TFTC # 6000
OCW OzGeoFriends. First cache upon arrival at Norfolk Island. Great view from up here. ?? TFTC endeavour3 ??
Here as part of a large Geocaching Group. On landing we head Jackscruff was heading for 6000 finds and this would be the spot. Despite some less than favourable weather a good sized group made our way up to see the views and watch Jackscruff make the find. Congratulations!Signing duties completed and back to town for the first event. TFTC
After spending some time in 2 of the museums, and then completing the AL locations in this area, I did the walk to the top of this fantastic lookout after having my picnic lunch on the pier below, watching the waves roll in and the surfers riding some big ones. The walk up gives a number of outstanding views but the top certainly is fantastic to spend some time here. I had no problems findng the cache. Also another great spot with some interesting history.
We searched everywhere with 3 people and still couldnt find it so we may try another day
Day 2 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. Lucky Im not scared of cows. Ive seen plenty wandering around Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12056find.Thankyou endeavour3 for placing and maintaining this cache
Lovely spot for a cache, although theyve let the trees grow up to spoil the view. Found while wandering over part of the historic buildings - lots more left to see! TFTC
Last cache for the day. A beautiful view up there, well worth the walk up all the stairs.
I came to Norfolk on a huge 108000 tonne beast called a cruise ship which quickly overwhelmed the island population. Upon arriving in the main town, and a quick coffee it was time to cache. We went for a walk to Kington to see the sights down by the ocean, and found caches along the way. Then after a friendly local drove us back to town, there were more caches near the tender port, cascade. Loved Norfolk, bon voyage. Views, nice cache location, found before the other tourists clambered up the steps. Tftc
Took a little longer than I care to admit, I had cachers blindness where I couldn't stop looking in what I thought was the best spot haha. Thank you endeavour3, it's a beautiful view and with the walk
No.16 for my NI 2023 adventure! What a view!! Phillip is certainly showing off today. Tftc!
# 8954 Norfolk Day 3, team "Dem CBR" myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had another fantastic day of caching and exploration. We started down at Kingston with our host for the morning: Endevour3. It was cool and very blustery today, but not enough to discourage us. Then it was off to east coast to grab some more difficult caches. Lots of climbing today, but always stunning destinations. Finally off up to Captain Cook Pt for a couple of amazing spots. So many steps in this place. Some logs signed collectively "Dem CBR".Thanks endeavour3 for the Traditional Cache

T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge After my event in town this morning we headed to Kingston to attend the CITO, collect all the caches and adventure labs, and take in all the history. It took us most of the day to get it all done! I had trouble with my phone's battery, so by the time I got to GZ the cache was already discovered. TFTC, and giving me an extra reason to take the walk, endeavour3.
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]Another great location where today the wind nearly swept us off our feet TFTC endeavour3
The lookout structure where the cache was hidden has been replaced. And the builders did not leave a nice little nook for a cache on the new lookout. I am disabling until I can find a suitable location to place a cache in this scenic location.
During July my wife and I took a break from Melbourne and spent a wonderful week on the Island - the first time for me (but hopefully not the last) and the second for her. Such a delightful place! I took my GPSr, with the traditionals downloaded (I don't really make the time to do puzzles or multis) and figured I would find a few as we went around the place. I never had any intention of finding all 41 of them, but somewhere around day 5 I realised it was actually feasible.
In the end it was a close call - one quite tough-to-get-to cache (Bird Island) I had to visit twice after not reading the description before my first visit and discovering it is really a multi and then stuffing up the calculations so I had an almost blind search for the cache; another (St Barnabas) was out of its hidey hole so took three visits before I found it among some fallen leaves nearby). But I got there and managed to claim them all.
In the interests of saving the limited data on my phone, I only look placeholder drafts during the week and am completing them back home, a month later. So with all due apologies, they are going to be pretty generic for the most part. But I will add comments about those that I particularly remember. No matter how detailed the final logs, I want to say a big thanks to those who have placed the caches and those who continue to maintain them. I had great fun finding them and they really helped make sure I saw as much of the Island as possible. So - a big and sincere TFTC

A lovely little walk up to here for some early morning shots. I had planned to wake myself early the previous day, but it was just too windy and cloudy during the night to make a sunrise visit feasible. I tried again the next day, only to find that the sunrise time I had Googled was wrong and it was already well past the right time. I ventured out all the same, managing some photos that were not quite sunrise, but still very satisfying.
After the photography I looked for the cache for quite a while. I eventually found it lying out in the open, two metres away from where it should be. It was all a bit wet, but I was able to sign and return it to where I figured it should be.

The walk up to GZ was not as bad as I was expecting but good or bad, the view from the top is fantastic. Mrs Gunnie and I spent a bit of time up here enjoying the vista and taking a breather. I gleaned the lab answer, then relocated for a quick find on this one. Log out, I etched my name and tucked it back as found.
Can't argue with a view like this, a favourite point form me.
Cheers endeavour3.

Luckily I had this place to myself as it took ages to find. Turned out my navigation skills were incorrect. Geohusband always says I don’t have a great sense of direction.
The view was fantastic and worth the walk up. Favourite point here and TFTC.

Ah, it would help for us to know our east from our west.
Anyway, found it in the end by middle child who expanded our search area.
Thanks for giving us something to look at other than the magnificent view.

We were excited to find swag for swaps in this one, shame we left our swaps in the car. We’ve found this one after finding the answer to an adventure lab. Em and I are Visiting from NZ
What a lovely lookout over Kingston. Nice seats on the way up cut out of NI Pine trunks.
I was wandering up to the lookout with Biggles303 to get the answer for the AL when I thought there must also be a physical cache at this location. Sure enough, when I checked I could see that there was one here, but I couldn’t get any details or assistance from the hint etc because my list hadn’t downloaded properly and I had no mobile data. Both of us got down & searched from all angles before finally coming up with the goods in a likely spot. Fortunately no other tourists were at the lookout or on the path to disturb us, so no suspicions were aroused. TFTC - my first physical one at NI.
After some huffing and puffing we ascended to the treasure
Learnt some history and took some great photos

Day 2 of exploring the Island, last cache of the day, with wazza9, quick find, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO. Also found 1 AL while up the hill.
On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 4 nights and and countless days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
The cache blocking guards informed the caching prisoner that solo day release had been approved for this day. The muggle contingent would continue to look for escape methods at the old Kings Town allowing the main planner to solve mystery and other puzzles on escape possibilities.
A climb up Flagstaff to survey the area, check for arrival of new vessels and gather intelligence was the first action for the morning.

Great views from up here of the bays and other islands and ruins, Nice quick easy find very late in the afternoon. TFTC. SL. Left a few swaps for the kids to find. Great for us too as we picked up a Travel Bug from this cache to take back to Aus. Thanks for putting a nice little cache up here for us to find while on holidays here. Cheers.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
A short hike up Flagstaff Hill for a straightforward find. Another nice view and TFTC endeavour3
Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places athey have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

After lunchtime, we've shed Mum and Oliver, and are leaner now.... and the rain is even lighter, we headed out to Ball Bay and Kingston, remembering to fire up the Adventure Lab app too this time, grabbing another 20 smilies for the afternoon, and another GA locationless.....
Another trip to the wharf!
We had the trip up and back to ourselves, struggled a little at GZ, even with the hint! Eventually got our direction sense worked out - I still think the corners are on the cardinal points...

After dropping Mum and Oliver at home, me and dad headed out to do some more caches around Ball Bay and Kingston. Had a nice time caching around the area. After finishing the AL, we headed. We decided to head up here to get the AL point and this cache. Lots of stairs to get up here then we got confused about the hide up the top.

Found this cache after watching the reenactment this morning of the Pitcairn Islanders arrival. We followed the well-made path all the way up to the top of the hill. Fabulous view over the old settlement. Worth the walk.
Thank you.
