We didn't have a lot of time in Wedderburn so decided to do this one Multi and see where it took us.
It was very well constructed and we had no problems getting the required numbers. Once we did our sums we headed off to GZ, but missed the first turn off in so took the long way around. This turned out well as it took us through a very interesting area. GZ was very interesting and we wondered if it was laid out by the C.O. or someone else.

After a bit of a drive around I had the coords to GZ calculated. Some satellite work had me on the right track and once I arrived well let's just say it took a while to make the find. Very sneaky here, old blokes! I dropped a TB safe in the knowledge that only commited cachers would find this one judging by the unlove on it.
A road trip up to St. Arnaud for the standard trio of events plus a bonus event on the Sunday. I hadn't made it up last year and I was looking forward to the new series (including night cache) plus the socialising.
Well Tyred'n'Cranky and FUF009 didn't disappoint. I had a great time at the events and the caches comprising each year's series were of the standard that attracts so many caching teams to this small country town annually. I only wish I had had more time to appreciate them as I was on a bit of a mission to find at least fifty for the day on the Saturday which meant minimal time at each one observing the quality of the metal work. Next year, with any luck, will be different.

We had hoped to look for more caches in Wedderburn last evening but we ran out of time. So we spent the first hour or so this morning in the area. The Churches of Wedderburn has been on our radar for some time but we when passing through previously, we didn't make the time. Having stayed in Wedderburn last night, this was an ideal opportunity. Data collection was straightforward. When we saw the location of GZ we wondered if we had made a mistake in the data collection. After double checking and deciding that all was well, we headed off. The next task was to find how to access the area - that took a few minutes. We were able to park within about 250m of GZ. It was a pleasant and easy early morning walk. Once near GZ we saw the task that lay ahead - there were just so many potential hiding spots. However given our experiences with other caches by the old blokes, we had confidence in the accuracy of the coordinates and that helped to focus our search. After a short hunt the cache was located in a very good hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks the old blokes for another very enjoyable caching experience. It earns a favourite from us. Now we can finally take this cache off our "to do"list.
The muff1 team do enjoy doing multi's, we like the info we learn, we enjoy the fact that it slows you down so that you can appreciate the area, it gives you the opportunity to have a chat as you go. We are doing this cache with our dear friend Speedmistress from Queensland, who by the way was the cacher who introduced us to this additive hobby, and we do not get enough chat time, a multi can help fix this.
At GZ we looked, checked the GPS and looked again. We started to question our answers when we heard the call we all like to hear 'found it'. What a very interesting and clever way of concealing a cache container. SL TFTC

A great tour checking out the info needed. Calculations made and off we set. Very interesting destination. Would love to know the history behind it. Also checked out the local fish and chip shop for our evening meal before continuing with our excursion into this area. Thank you.
A great day of Geocaching with my mates Muff1 who supplied the transport and local knowledge today. Started with the St Arnaud CITO and finished back home at 11.40pm. SL TNLN TFTC.

Found with FUF009. This has taken me 3 goes to get to the final. The 1st time I got the coords but didn't have time to go get it. Then lost the coords. The 2nd time it was too boggy and I wasn't up to the walk. This time we had dry weather and FUF's new truck! Tftc
18/02/2017 - 2.20 pm - No. 850 - 5th of 17 finds & 1 dnf for the day - with Surefoot24 & Darren on a Geocaching weekend to attend the weekends 9 month to event event & find others while in the area & with additional caching partner of jtnsilo .
Thanks to preparatory work done by jtnsilo we were quickly able to go to the required location to make this find. We arrived at gz as one lot of cachers were walking back to their vehicle with "innocent" looks on their faces & before our deed was done another lot of cachers turned up. Great hide, had us going for a little bit before I thought "what about .... Found it!" Signed & retuned to it's home. Thanks for the cache. Tricky!!!

Loved it. Found while attending a caching event in town. My timing was impeccable as I had no sooner signed the log and replaced this excellent cache to its well camouflaged hide when a stream of 3 cars arrived loaded with like minded event attendees. A mob of kangaroos bounding past as we arrived at GZ also helped make this a very memorable adventure.

I had worked out the co ordinates for this multi maybe a year ago but was in town for just a short while and on foot. today I remember to bring the co ords with me and teaming up with surefoot24 in their 4X4 we headed off to collect the prize. sure gets busy around some of these caches! we had just signed the logsheet and replaced cache when we were swarmed with other geocachers.. what fun! so pleased to sign off on this one with company.
TFTC. We had been around town yesterday collecting the information to find the final GZ. This flyer on fete the event we head out to GZ. It was certainly a busy place. Other teams also taking the opportunity to cache in new areas.
Great final. Fossicked around for a really long time and just couldn't find anything, so you old blokes are too clever for me. An enjoyable multi nevertheless.
Found, SWM and I dont go for many Multis. We thought we should finish off Wedderburns caches.
Track was rough from recent rain and the mozzies were thick as thieves.
Easy clues, good co-ords, left some bling in the cache. Thanks old blokes, loved the hide.

After a full afternoon of caching with TR! and honeysucker we hunted out a few more before hitting the local fish n' chip shop for a well earned dinner. With all our numbers scouted out around the town we found the crazy GZ area and enjoyed searching for this cache. Nice work.
Thanks the old blokes for an interesting multi.

Today was the day we decided to clean up the township of Wedderburn and turn all green boxes into yellow smillys. This one was on our list to be changed.
Had fun looking around the town, and working out the details for the final.
We were in the company of TheTritonz and Honeysucker today.
Thanks for bringing us back to the town every year.

Did all the hard work on foot , but got to see lots of Wedderburn. Fantasic idea for a cache multi.
Your caches always leave us with a wow factor. So another fav. Point from us. We actually got taken to the final co-ords by some fellow cachers in their 4 WD. Thanks again the old blokes for a terrific adventure.

We did the first part of this on the Saturday after the event, and done the last bit of signing the
log on the Sunday this is a great multi,
And with this many Churches in Wedderburn, no wonder the old bloke had good weather for their
event on Saturday. worth a FP

An enjoyable wander to these churches and the rather different final location!! Found with locuscache and Goodlook on a weekend in Victoria. The main aim of the trip was to attend the Old Blokes events in Wedderburn and to grab as many of the caches in the area. We also found quite a few on the way there and the way home and had some “interesting” experiences 4WD ing on some back tracks!
Out caching with Fergzter this weekend, after getting all the needed information we were able to make the find. Thanks for the cache.
Finally found this cache in the company of LionJRB. Each year we went to Wedderburn we ended up attempting this cache right on Sunday morning when there were crowds at Church. So each year we decided to focus on other hides. Well THIS year we managed to do it on a Saturday and avoid the crowds and collect our information in peace. Armed with all the relevant info we made our way to the GZ and after a short hunt we had the well concealed cache in hand and signed. Many thanks to the old blokes. This was a nice multi.
Day 2 of the roadtrip with GoodLook and CPwanderer started with attending the A Day Out in Wedderburn event and ended with us attending the A Day Out in Wedderburn. The Evening Meal event In between that, I found 10 caches and we had a great day catching up with lots of other teams in the field or at the events
We had a ball and found some great caches and I finally got to do the multi in the middle of Wedderburn instead of having to drive past as usually happens[^]
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
Finally I got to undertake this multi and it was great fun
Directing GoodLook in contradiction to CP's directions made the WP searches fun
We gathered the info and then worked out GZ and when we got near GZ later, we used part of If's log to confirm that we were in the correct spot for GZ and then we searched and searched!
CP eventually made the find of the sneaky and evil hide!

Yet another cool multi we completed in Wedderburn. Wow so many church sites to visit.
Day 2 of 3 - Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache from Adelaide to Wedderburn, Victoria. The aim of the trip was to attend "A Day Out in Wedderburn 2016" all day caching event (TICK [^] ) and then enjoy the Evening Meal event (TICK [^] ).
During this weekend we found some fun and creative caches and caught up with our Victorian geofriends once again.
The funny one-liner comments flowed all weekend and my belly hurt from all of the laughter!! [:o)] [^].
Unfortunately we had a minor car accident last night whilst traveling to Wedderburn [B)] - lost control of the vehicle (fortunately we were traveling very slowly) and we got bogged on a wet and slippery Victorian country dirt road [xx(]...ummmm.....at the time we may have been heading toward a possible gold which we missed , however we did eventually get out of the mud after a long wait and exchanging a fair bit of cash [:(!].
I LOVE geocaching [:X], but I HATE mud [:(!]!! LOL
Thanks for the cache

It is always enjoyable to check out the churches in country towns. In the good company of au.fait we collected the numbers amidst other caches, then headed to our calculated GZ. Thinking we could be in a graveyard, after finding the correct spot we smiled as we added our names to the log. Image added.
Our thanks to the old blokes for placing this cache.

With a a little help we soon had a final set of numbers to work with
Thanks the old blokes for putting this cache out for us to find

They changed the phone number on the Uniting Church notice board. All fixed up now......I hope!
Travelling around Australia with our Cat.
Staying longer in St Arnaud, than we first thought, today we headed back up to Wedderburn to try and add to our existing smilies. Hmm well we tried, but there are soo many caches up here. We fell short of our mission again today, think this is our 4th day caching in town.
What an amazing day in this amazing area. Just love the history and the scenic places geocaching has taken us to in this region.
Sunday morning might not be the wisest time to be attempting this cache. Thankfully the final was away from the main churches. Like others we struggled being unable to find waypoint c but walked the line to get lucky.
Thanks for placing your cache to assist with our touring of the area, and feeding our geoaddiction. the old blokes

This cache gave me problems back in February,
I couldn't find me way to GZ [:o]
Today I was back in towne and determined to try again.
But, and it is a big butt.
Not mine on the bike though
I had somehow lost the original coords for GZ !!
I vaguely remembered where GZ was and set off on me ride through the historic area to retrace me steps from me last visit.
I found a very likely area, but with so many hiding places and vague recollections of GZ's actual location, I had to give up looking after 20 minutes
After me ride around the towne, this cache was not getting away again !!
So I visited the churches again
Oh dear !! The sign board at "C" has gone missing !!
But that should not stop the determined cacher actually finding this "Holy Caches Batman !!" [:o]
Na na na na nana nah !!
To the cachemobile Boy Wonder !!!
Or rather the bike again for another ride through this quiet bit of towne
And I soon tracked down a cache, cleverly hidden, must be the work of the Riddler [:o]
As I left GZ with me name safely ensconced on the cache's logbook, I noticed a strange looking religious edifice nearby.
Ha, ha, ha !!
TFTC, fave dance time, thank Dog !!

Picked up all the information on foot Friday when I got into town, worked out the coords and was of but I somehow missed to track into the area. Today I had much better luck and was able to get my name in a well camped log. Thanks for the great cache
This one takes the prize for my favourite point today. After a drive around Wedderburn collating the information and converting it to coordinates, we set out to find the cache.
This was easier said than done because the first and second tracks we took were leading into private houses. Third time lucky and we found what we were looking for. I loved ground zero and was particularly impressed with the inscription on the cross. You old blokes have a sense of humour as warped as ours. Thanks for a great multi with an excellent finale

Drove around town collecting then double checking the required numbers, then headed off to find the cache. The Geo-Truck navigated the bumps in the road easily until we neared GZ, then we enjoyed the fun of locating the cache. Thank you for this multi Old Blokes.
We really enjoyed the tour of the churches of Wedderburn gathering clues. We had a couple of goes at getting to GZ when we finally realised the way in. We took it slowly and once we reached the rise, it was plain sailing. At GZ, a lot of things looked the same but one was different!! Glanville Girls spotted it. This is an excellent camo and the multi gets a favourite from me. Thanks the old blokes.
I Loved this multi that took us on a walking tour of Wedderburn. Getting to GZ proved trickier than we expected. We were unable to find a way into GZ at first. Then, after a look at google maps we spotted a better way in. Thanks for the hide. Another favourite added.
Quite enjoyed the tour of churches. So many for a small town. Nice multi. At GZ quickly found the tricky hide TFTC
Day 2 in Wedderburn, doing some sightseeing while caching around the area.
Collected the required information, but took some time to find the correct track to GZ.
Then searched for a while, before locating the well placed cache.
Many thanks for placing this cache, the old blokes, for us and others to find.

First up today on me bike ride around the Wedderburn was to visit a few places of worship
And it was not long before I had a GZ worked out
Hmm. Not quite as close as I expected, so I will leave visiting GZ 'til later in the day
And later in the day, I could not work out how to get to GZ [:o]
I could get close-ish, but somehow I think I may have given up on my stroll to GZ a bit early
Reading past cache logs has me sorta convinced I was on the right track after all [:o]

Out in the area caching today, as usual had a great day and enjoyed the hunt. The find gave a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Many thanks the old blokes for placing this cache.
After a pleasant day in Wedderburn yesterday we decided to do a few more cache here before heading home with Micaparamedic and The Coffees.
The Coffees had gone into town to fuel up as they had previously found this cache so Mica and myself were looking for this one.
We found ourselves in a likely area but were unable to locate the cache, we phoned The Coffees and they returned to give us a hand and confirm that our co-ords were correct.
We finally located the cache, not sure how we missed it on the first pass.
Thanks again for the cache.

The day after the event day in Wedderburn - a damp drizzly day. We were very fortunate to such great weather over the last couple of days. BettyBoo3747 and I got stuck into a few multi's around town, and a few other outliers.
The town certainly is well endowed with places of worship. It was Sunday morning, but only one seemed to have any customers!
We drove around (it was raining!) and collected the required information.
The Anglican church is particularly flash.
We went to GZ (further away than we thought it would be) and walked the track to GZ.
The rain had made a bit of a mess of the track so we figured we wouldn't add to it by driving on it.
Interesting area at GZ - cute sign.
BB soon had her hands on the final.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 6350. Sunday morning dawns and what a wet, miserable day it is too. However, with no mad dogs out and about today, it is only mad cachers we are likely to run into - and we didn't. Robmc and I did manage to find 10 or 11 caches though and then enjoyed afternoon tea and a puzzle-solving session with The 2 Wanderers and Mischieff18 back in a warm cabin at the caravan park.
We enjoyed driving around looking at the various churches. The Anglican one is a beauty with its buttresses and solid stonework. We were surprised where GZ was leading us and were dismayed by the Olympic-sized pool at the start of the track. Out we hopped and walked to GZ hoping that we were correct. Had to chuckle when we saw the sign and lo and behold I had the cache in hand in seconds. An interesting little area here. Left one of my Mask Pathtags today.

Geogetters were going to attempt this multi and I had already sussed out that it shouldn't be too painful so Crazy Paul and I decided we'd go too. It was a beautiful day and the stroll around the streets was lovely. After gathering the required information we decided morning tea at the local (and very good) cafe would be just the thing before proceeding to GZ. It was good to find excellent coffee in a small town and GZ didn't disappoint us either. TFTC the old blokes.

Came up for the weekend, this was the first cache we attempted. Walked the churches with Crazy Creels, stopped for morning tea at the local cafe and then drove to GZ. Liked the signage. TFTC
Found with Eminor93. As Eminor mentioned I messed entering the coordinates and after realising our mistake and a short walk later we finally found the cache. Thanks.
Spent some time completing this multi with DoorMatt during an arvo of caching in Wedderburn. We made a small mistake somewhere along the line and ended up at "not gz". Adjusted the co-ords and retread the hints to realise we were off track. Upon finding the accurate gz, it took us a little while to discover the appropriate comment regarding the "sign". Very clever. Suscoe had a day out in the Wedderburn and St Arnaud area today.
We started nice and early and enjoyed a day of beaut sunshine and almost no breeze.
This was the 11th find of 34 for today.
We enjoyed the countryside and the green grasslands looked delightful, we hope the farmers are pleased.
Thanks to the old blokes for an entertaining wander around the streets. GZ was quite nice to see.

Being on holiday I started to get a bit antsy. I needed to get out there and do some caches, so I decided to make tracks to Wedderburn and grab a few before tea time.
The first of these caches was the Churches of Wedderburn. Like my hometown of St. Arnaud, Wedderburn has more than its fair share of churches. One would think that the goldfields was a hotbed of sin or something.
I have to admit, I did cheat doing this cache. Two of the churches I didn't navigate to via the GPS, I just drove around and picked them out. Can I be forgiven for cheating? Being a church cache I am sure that this wouldn't be too difficult.
Soon a small expedition found me at GZ, but was this the right place? I saw a sign and had a laugh, this had to be the right place. Good coords saw a quick grab. Thanks for the tour around Wedderburn Old Blokes, 'twas fun.

Our last for the weekend - time for the teen to get home and do some study. What an entertaining multi with a great GZ - lovely to finish off a nice weekend with a laugh. Thanks for all the fun B&B
Headed out this morning with Alansee to find some caches before the event.
Thanks The Old Blokes for the cache,

Enjoyed driving around in the car to complete this one. Thanks for the opportunity to see the different styles of architecture of the churches in Wedderburn. GZ had me puzzled, so glad I had the opportunity to ask the question next day. Wish I had seen "the sign" at the time of finding the cache. Well done to the Two Old Blokes. Found with Kinkell1, TilleyTB, Highrod, k1w1kiwi and the 2 Wanderers while in Wedderburn for the event. TFTC
Find No. 312. Found with FUF009 at 2.51pm. Find No. 12 for the day.
A nice drive around the churches. Very thoughtful by not requiring us to hop in and out of the car to find the answers. Was intrigued by the hide and the rust site.
Took spider and blue bug. Left dalmation and green soldier. TFTC The Old Blokes

After a slow start to the day, The Coffees and I had time for one more cache before the lunch event and it was this one. Everything fell into place well enough and at GZ the cache ws found easily with three of us on the hunt.
Find #628 @ 1451H
Found with Tyred n Cranky.
A nice tour of the old churches in town. after getting all the answers we were heading back out a road we had been on a couple of time today. As we got to GZ 3 cars were leaving. After finding the Clever hide, with so much rust around Mr Tyred n Cranky just had to add a couple of more decoys to the area.
Took Scorpion
Left Rubber lego Block

The finding of this one was due to the patient navigation and calculating of Mr Comrade. Who would have imagined all these stately Churches in Wedderburn that I reckon well reflected the ethos and inclination of the creeds. And some of the Churches have been erected and lovingly maintained and worshipped at for over 100 years. This cache is well suited to walking as you get a good perspective of the township as well. Cache was quickly to hand as for a change we did the mathematics and clue deciphering without error - to our collective astonishment.
Thanks to The Old Blokes for a thoughtful cache in the series and well planned as well.
With Gyspy Mackay, The Possum Lady, The Comrades and Dylan 7a.

Had fun working out the answers for the final WP, I actually attended Sunday school at one of the churches when I was a little girl while staying at my grandparents for a holiday. At final destination I was amazed at the site and Tamzy, HolzCotz, cbjh1990 and Aunty Lill and I were quick to get into action, Aunty Lill had grabbed the cache with lightning speed TFTC it reminded me I must update my tetanus shot
Had a ball going around all the churches of wedderburn with the help of a local muggle we soon had cache in hand
Found by Mary & David at 1545. We enjoy multis like this. Give us some facts, figures and history and we're delighted. Amazing that there were so many churches, 150+ years ago in some cases. Some were very simple, reflecting an austere spirituality, while others were quite ornate, perhaps a sign of the mining successes of the day. A true snapshot of social history and, perhaps, a sad reflection of how religion has declined and congregations have diminished. Loved the rusty cross! Our thanks to the old blokes.
Had a local muggle tag along with us for this one so didn't need the coordinates to each church just told her to show us all the local churches! So quickly gathered the required coordinates and made our way to the final! So many churches in such a little town, said goodbye to my great grandma at the Anglican Church only last year so found that one easy enough! TFTC
Wedderburn revisited and another stack of terrific and very creative caches.
We gathered some of the numbers before the event then the remainder after the event then were able to make a relatively quick find at GZ as we headed out into the bush caching plastic boxes.
Thank you the old blokes for this cache.

A shared find with Iain & Daff, our friends The Swaggies.
This proved to be a very pleasant way to end a memorable days caching with our dear friends as we journeyed around all these churches gathering the required details.
Although we are inclined to CITO wherever practical this just wasn't one of those opportunities as all these items rusting peacefully form a very necessary part of the cache theme!
Thanks again the old blokes for this ecclesiastical tour of town.
Cheers,
from Roma and max.

Just before we were dropped of at the motel, we decided to tackle this cache as it was probably better done at night than day. Once again we found a blank log book and so we were able to log our 6th FTF with Romax tonight.
