As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Seven months since disabling?!?
Any chance this is being replaced, or time to archive?
In Tauranga to visit rellies, and this is the closest cache to home - and disabled.

02-Oct-15
It looks like this cache has been taken away, so are temporarily disabling it till we get home and can replace it.

01-Oct-15
Huhugrub we suggest you widen your search a couple of metres then start to look up, not down. Happy caching.

30-Sep-15
We had high hopes to find the Animal House, but it was not to be. Found what might be part of the cache, but not the cache itself. Disappointed.

27-Sep-15
It is a bird house!

20-Sep-15
Lorriebird spotted this one, then sent ZSteve in to do the heavy lifting. Took: Brony love and Hopping Around TBs. TFTC.

20-Sep-15
Given my name, I have a special affinity for cache containers like this one! Thanks for the nice smiley!

20-Sep-15
Out for a day of caching fun with Lorriebird and Agazo. I really enjoyed hiking down this trail. Great container! Thanks for the fun!

13-Sep-15
Last day in New Zealand and some TB's to leave behind. Had a quick check and saw this one would be big enough. Off to GZ a quick find but it took a couple of mins to open. Old signed TB's left. TFTC. Favourite point for something different and not a NANO.

We spent the morning in this lovely setting and picked up some caches on our wander. Great cache for the kids to find, we let them work out the 'animal house' clue. tftc

This was one of nearly eighty Geocaches I found in the company of HKCB and 11hpg11, we signed the log HI1, an anachronism made up of the first initials of our Geocaching handles to save on log space. This was our second trip to the Bay of Plenty. A few weeks ago we conquered The Mount and Papamoa and were back today on another infamous mad mission. We left Hamilton at 4:30 am and I was back at home in time to read my two boys a story and tuck them into bed at 7:30pm. We had a fun day exploring the area and got to see lots of parts of the area we hadn’t experienced before. A big thanks to all the cache owners who took the time and effort to place so many high quality and well maintained hides. Thanks also to HKCB for organising the day and driving. I think it was fitting to undertake these trips during the ‘Geocaching Road trip’ Groundspeak promotion, as it typified all those things that make a good road trip, most importantly good company. There were plenty of laughs and some memorable shenanigans.

This is a nice high quality hide, one my boys would have enjoyed. I grabbed a smiley badge from the swag to give to Hamilton Geocachers SteedandPeel who have some smiley themed caches in our area.

Another all day mission with 11HPG11 and iammrwalk, this time focusing on the other side of Tauranga. I had just finished logging the all the caches we had found in Papamoa when I looked at the map and thought why not have a crack at the other side as well!

A early start as we were on the road at 4.30am as we needed to be back not to late otherwise we'd be in the dog box when we got back home. Another fantastic day out with lots of the usual laughter and this time the weather was much better behaved. In total over 80 finds, with only a couple of DNF's and we got back in time to stay out of the dog boxes, just!

We signed the log books with Hi1, an acronym of our caching handles. A big thanks to all the CO's for all the placements, and for taking us to places we hadn't been before.

A nicely constructed cache. HPG had already found this one on a previous trip, though this time we parked much closer to the cache than she did. A quick find at GZ and no trouble getting to the logbook.

Wow this was a cool cache, was a little hard to get into but managed to fix it up, my nan was with me and said it hadn't been put back together properly last time. When I get enough points I will have to put a favourite on it. Many Thanks.

Also needed that high favourite number for the souvenir so this was perfect. The cache took us a little while to find but fun and LOVED the container. Fav from me for sure. TFTC

Really enjoyed a short walk in this beautiful setting! MidiK was quick to discover how to reveal the cache, and even had an animal in her cache bag to swap. TFTC.

06-Nov-14
NOTE: Found the spot though looks like container has been removed. All that is left is two types of bracket thingee on the tree trunk. Bit disappointing as took a while to find!

23-Oct-14
It truly is an animal house. We now have a little chicken travelling with us Smile love it. tftc

06-Oct-14
Found during a walk with the dog. Clearly there was more to this cache at one point.

02-Oct-14
Oh No! it's been taken...... oh wait, what's that? Ah Ha! Success. Must have been a previous placement? Never the less, nice hide, full of toys! TNLNSL, TFTC

06-Sep-14
Found the old cache first, or what is left of it, then found the bird house! Our last one here today, great walk we have enjoyed it TFTC

17-Aug-14
My daughter ran straight past this one. Too much enthusiasm! Many goodies but nothing to swap still.

02-Aug-14
Visited this cache today to replace the log but found it needed more than just a new log. No wonder the last few log entries had not made sense. I will revamp this cache. In the meantime the cache is still find-able and log-able, although not as exciting as it was. I had to take part of it home.

01-Aug-14
Thank you for a exciting find . Nana found it first .

31-Jul-14
What a nice quiet spot to cache in. The log book is full, sorry I didn't have a spare with me.

06-Jul-14
Retrieved the first part for the second part but we couldn't figure out why we would have needed it as the cache was easy to get to without it. TFTC

05-Jul-14

19-Apr-14
Wouw... what a nice cache here in Tauranga. This is definetly a favourite point from us.
I would say it would be more a multi and not a traditional. None of the visitors wanting to come with us. I think we looked strange......Left another animal to be find for next finder. Hopefully it will be released soon.
Great keys hahaha

27-Feb-14
Yes, yes, yes definitely a favourite. Found the cache guarded by a woodsman with a slingshot and a horrible hairy Hound. But once I answered his riddle about the fish I was able to pass unmolested. Spied the green dragon and .... But don't hang about reading my story get down here.

and cords were spot on. Neat idea for a cache soon had the log book signed

31-Aug-13
Great cache!! Full of surprises. A real favourite for us. TFTC

20-Aug-13
Only realised I hadn't logged this when I looked through my collection of souvenirs for the month......20 was missing (today is the 24th).....racked my brain.......could not for the life of me remember where I had been on Tuesday.....all these caches turn into 1 when you are on day 24!!! Had the idea of looking at the tracks on the gps (strangely I can now remember thinking I should turn them off as I was walking around the 'lake'...good job I didn't!). Quickly found the 'tickling' equipment and had to be furtive as several dog walkers ambled passed. The walk out proved to be the most difficult part, followed the track and "where has the bridge gone".....thankfully the boots I had on proved adequate for the stream crossing and homeward bound.....to forget to log until today.

Another great idea for a cache - twice now I have been beaten to an idea!! Will have to bring the junior members of the family to this - they will love it!

TNLNSL TFTC

26-Jul-13
Loved this one! The dragon was reluctant at first and it took us a while to figure out how to free the prisoners. Released a couple of prisoners and replaced them with others. TFTC.

20-Jul-13
A little bit of drizzle today so no one around. Nice cache and area for walking. Thanks

08-Jul-13
Driving into Tauranga early in the morning and thought that there was time to grab this one.

11-Jun-13
Quick trip to town to visit friends so went with them for a short walk.

08-Jun-13
Popped out this afternoon after mowing the lawns to find this cache. I have had my eye on it for a while and today was the only "caching day" for me in June. Got to GZ easily enough and then got my first surprise. Resolved that and found the next surprise. A great cache, cleverly crafted and worthy of a favourite from us. Swapped geocoins.

06-Jun-13
Sprayed for creepy crawlies and added a few more prisoners. Dropped off TB.

02-Jun-13
Great fun find!! Thanks!

Wondering if anyone collected the I Hate Nanos trackable placed in the cache by Bridgeaway? It was a tag attached to a station wagon toy car. Looks like it is missing in action Sad

Out for a run while waiting for winter sport practise to finish.

A very cool cache. Will have to bring the kids back for this one.
