In the Mount for a weekend of fun, caches and laughs, with Doctor Owl.
We enticed Bower bird out for a few caches before Church.
Alas another DNF.
We enticed Bower bird out for a few caches before Church.
Alas another DNF.
Searched the bushes without success. Might be under all that leaf litter, but it was too wet to be enthusiastic about it.
Lunch nearby and didn't even need to move the car to get to this cache, hmm, if only all caches were so conveniently placed for us food lovers.
Another Mountopoly knocked off our list.
Thanks SE SA Geocachers for the cache. YNLNSL

An easy find pn a Saturday afternoon. Convenient parking nearby. Left pathtags. TFTC
Found it but lid was off and no log book just had to write name on a normal peice of paper. Near by was geocaching label. Tftc
When we saw the vegetation we decided not to spend too much time at GZ as we were not keen to bashing through plus 1 mtr high bushes. And it is a high muggle area with the liquor shop close by.
Staying in Mt Gambier for a few days of relaxation with the hubby and geokids (age 4 & 6). Naturally I had to pick up a few caches in this cache filled town! We came to the nearby pub for tea as it had a playground for kids. Luck had it that there was also a cache here! We soon found cache but retrieval was a little harder. Very very prickly. Hubby did the deed in thongs (he's a keeper). A smilie for us then a most yummy dinner followed. Many thanks
Taking the geo kids caching during the school holidays, while towing a 24 foot caravan. We'll grab every opportunity to grab a cache.Up early with no muggles, this made for an easy find.
Thanks again SE_SA_Geocachers for placing this cache for us to find.

Day 2 of our trip to Mount Gambier and while geodad worked, geo mum slept in and so geobro and I went caching in Naracoorte for a short while prior to picking up Moneydork and then Tounga and so with the geo family back together we all headed for the Mount.
We cached together on the way but once at the Mount, geodad was back to work and geomum shopped then rested so geobro and I cached again until we picked up Moneydork and Tounga and then we all cached until later that night.
All up, I had only 5 DNFs for the day and 37 cache finds
With the whole geofamily in the car after tea we came and found this cache.
Took just a while to find the right way in but there it was

Initially we went to the wrong side of a fence. Once on the right side, a short hunt soon had the cache in hand. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache SE_SA_Geocachers.
On the way past to pick up the biggeo-son from a birthday pool party (yes in the middle of winter! Ha ha!!) Thought we'd stop and grab a cache! Dodgy phone GPS put us on the wrong track to start with but a peek at the hint and a couple of logs and we were on to it! Sent the little geo-son in for it!
Made a little swap and left a calling card TFTC

Catching up on some very late logs.
This was our last day of our caching visit to South Australia but still hoping to grab a few more before getting to Portland.
As we have said before we are really enjoying this game a great concept with the different hides in different locations.
It may take us longer than most to finish this game but we enjoy collecting a few each visit.
Thanks once more SE_SA_Geocachers

Found this one this morning. This is find number 200 for us. TFTC. We must come back to Mt Gambier soon to do a few more caches.
Found! Parked the car with no other muggle mobiles around but once the hunt started 2 blokes who were behind a big truck talking came around the other side. I found the cache fairly quickly but had to wait until they turned their backs so I could walk out. Nothing to see here

Not many muggles so nobody noticed us scrabbling around in the bushes, although it was not where we first thought. Took Franz TB to keep hubby Frans company for a while. TFTC
Found on our "Making Memories" tour of Mainland Australia.

Thanks for the hint, but I still found the pickly bush, then the cache. Gee time for a drink after a long day at the Hospital LOL, then heading back home after working here for the week.

Loved buying up the Green ones as a kid.
Cache found on the Joy of SECS tour with four-fun, Freddo, thewhitedoggang and Team Waldron. There were a stack of boxes to find so we pushed on. We even had a quick round of Mountopoly and a couple of Powertrails to add to the fun. The weather was cool and sometimes icy so wet boots were the order of the day.
Thanks to SE_SA_Geocachers and clear skies from TeamAstro.

Apologies for the generic log but we did a few trails and some of the Mountopoly series. We also did most of the BLE series.
The mozzies were full on at times and it rained most of the first day.

Visiting Millicent for the space event and visiting family for a few days we did some caching while we were here, ouch ouch and double ouch them prickles are hell, after looking in the wrong spot i changed spots and soon had the cache in hand, no TB was there and i do believe this is a bottle brush and not a banksia so this threw me off as to where to look, was there a banksia there at one point ? cache is in good condition and we now have one more of the mountopoly series marked off TFTC
Geo dad went out to find this one quick and easy find now for a quick refreshing drink
Working my way around the game board.. a good excuse to 'whip up to the Mount' to fill in calandar days.. Loving the series thank u.. TFTC

We drove right past this cache on Friday night when we went to dinner at the South Eastern Hotel, but didn't have the GPSr with us then. This morning I ducked out of the motel to log a couple of close caches as Mrs J was packing ready to head back home.
All nice and quiet here today, but it still took some time to see the cache amongst the undergrowth. A bit of a trail is starting to form here. Signed the log and recorded the clue, then off to claim House #3 before checking out and heading back to Morphett Vale.
Thanks SE SA Geocachers.

TFTC. Absolutely love this series. You have put a lot of effort and time into this series. It was appreciated today (especially by the kids).
Day 30 of August Challenge. Left early this morning as geokids had a "student free day", we started with this one that we had on our list of mountopoly's to do. Quick & easy find this morning after muggles had left the area. TFTC
This one proved very difficult as it was done at night, following a brief rainstorm... So clever haha. All of this as well as doing our best to stay on dry land proved worthy when we plucked the GC from the cold, wet, prickly, itchy position. Thanks SE_SA _geocachers for my wet socks attained during this one
Found @ 02:29 AM (under the close supervision of one of our fine members of our local police department; apparently 2 grown men snooping around in some bushes out the back of a pub looks suspicious :/ haha)

This one took a little bit of time to find for us..Lots of muggles around ready to get on a bus to a function so had to hold off for a while. Sent the Geokids in to find and they resurfaced with the cache in hand. Thanks for another good hunt!!

Visiting the Mount once again and this trip was mainly for a friendly game of Mountopoly. We had heard some good things about this series, and it didn't disappoint. By this point we were doing night caching with the help of mogni. TFTC SE SA Geocachers.
This one took a lot of finding in the dark. Eventually we made the find... and.... and... wait a minute.... we think we may just have enough information to give the Final Bonus a crack. Roll the dice... double sixes.... lets go for it.

What a time, to come for this one, as all the staff were finishing work, at the same time. We waited about 10 minutes, for them to go and claimed the prize. Tftcsl. 10/05/13 22:12 Find #388
