Time for someone else to use the area.

14-Jul-22
Required info was quickly gathered but at GZ no luck finding it unfortunately. There are a few trees that have fallen over so maybe that could have affected it.
Nice spot anyway that I never knew existed.

14-Jul-22
Maybe this could do with a checkup.

14-Jul-22
Need to check hiding spot.

14-Apr-21
Sorry but this one left me very disappointed. Navigated to the decoy like every one else but after an hour of searching left empty handed. The many fallen dead trees may have obscured any other logical hiding spots in the area. Perhaps a hint might be useful given the co-ordinates aren't!

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age. Bloody decoy.

Easter 2020 was supposed to see South Australia Geocaching hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find with two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

After making the effort to get here for an anticipated fun multi including the view of the funky fence, it was disappointing to fail to find - how far can it be from a decoy. This is a D2! Fallen timber did not help my confidence. Maybe I can return one day.

14-Jun-20
Lived in Launceston all my life and never been here so thank you for placing and maintaining the cache so we can all see these magnificent view.

12-Feb-20
I love a good multi with info and resolution that are not ambiguous. And I love your sense of humour! You had me thinking there for a bit, but CIH, SL and returned as found. I needed a diversion as I had dropped me CoTE at her regular appointment and needed to stay close to take us both to the next one. This multi was the closest "yet to be found" on the map. I took the long way around between WP1 and WP2 which is not unusual for me and once I had the final co-ords, I thought I knew where the hide would be. Not so, it was much better than I had imagined. Thank you for bringing me to a place in my home town that I have not seen before.

01-Dec-19
Found the decoy cache straight away...then hunted and hunted around in a massive circle trying to find the cache with the log. No luck for us. Thanks anyway...eatmorchikin from Brisbane

05-Sep-19
In town so was heading up to see the gorge so spotted this multi on the way. The car GPSr had a different view about WP1 but a walk around and we got the info.
WP2 was easy enough and we saw a rabbit on the way which is usually a good sign for us.
On to nearby GZ with lots hunting plus the decoy!

10:12:00 AM: (7 of 36) Find#11493
Caching around Launceston today with the morning at the gorge
finding the numbers was as hard as finding the container... lol but I stumbled up cache , found with carlo.
On a Geocacing trip to Tasmania with Tankengine, hello from Canberra

thanks Tassie2Heads

12-May-19
Found with Mtrax and Carlo on our mini holiday in Tassie! Now in Launceston - before heading back to Hobart tomorrow. A nice multi cache here, but the GZ is 6m out! Sadly, the decoy coords are SPOT ON! So this lead to much frustration before finding the actual cache!. - thanks T2H. You should move the cache to the decoy location!

07-Apr-19
Day 21 of my trip from Adelaide and my penultimate day in Tasmania.

I spent the day pottering around the broader Launceston area seeking out a few caches that I had targeted. There was plenty of walking and plenty of ups and downs. The weather was a bit variable - mostly cloudy and drizzling on and off. I finished up finding a nice variety of caches including traditionals, puzzles, multis, a wherigo and an earthcache.

I had no difficulty collecting the required information at the waypoints, but finding the cache was another matter. I quickly located the decoy and then spent a long time searching in increasing circles around GZ. I was ready to give up when I thought I’d give it one more go. I returned to a spot I’d previously been and gave it another good go. And this time I found the cunningly hidden container.

Thanks Tassie2Headsfor the cache.

22-Sep-18
Out for a run. Had a thorough search after finding the red herring but no luck. Will be back.

26-Aug-18
Hello Tassie2Heads thank you for the cache.

Out and about caching with EeePees in the Launceston area while JunEeePees was at training.
There was a bit of hesitation on wether we were going to have a look at this one due to it been a little of our original route and not knowing where we going to end up. But a pretty straight forward multi with an interesting finish.

Very well done Tassie2Heads on the nice twist at the end. Made us smile! Glad we decided to tackle this multi on our lap around the Gorge today. Thanks too for showing us the old building at WP1.

#1057 @ 1240hrs Sunday 26th August 2018

Up from Hobart on a caching plunder with AlbyDangles, after dropping off a couple jnr Refs at training this morning.
Parked above the Gorge Tea Rooms, walked down to Kings Bridge, and back via the ZigZag Track and Suspension Bridge, with a few deviations and side trips along the way.
Plenty here to keep us occupied until we had to collect the jnr Refs later this afternoon.

18-Aug-18
That was a sneaky hide. This was the our second attempt. On our first hunt, we found the decoy container but didn't know where to look after that. With a little hint from a fellow geocacher, we had it in our hands.

16-May-18
This is one of the best multis that I have found, everything worked for me today so that could be why...what a sneaky little hide that was. This is definitely a favourite. TFTC.

21-Apr-18
Outdoing some late night caching with dad, found the little gympic and kept searching found it TFTC

25-Mar-18
Found it. Epic hide.

25-Mar-18
Wow what a good multi! We found the decoy & had us scratching our heads hmmm where is the actual log?

02-Jan-18
I made it look so difficult just getting to WP1 that I had to wonder how long I had been doing this. Eventually I parked myself somewhere near and walked to the end of the street. And that’s all there was ‘an end’. There must be another way around. Eventually I made it to the right side of WP1. A beautiful property. After this everything flowed well. Great final. Fav point from me and TFTC

26-Jul-17
Great little multi, love the quirkiness and the twist at the end SL TFTC

17-Mar-17
Couldn't find the year at wpt1....blind or not there?

28-Nov-16
Two Norwegian travellers on vacation/geocaching in Australia. Travelling by car from Brisbane to Adelaide with stops in interesting and not so interesting places. We have been travelling almost 5000 kilometers before we returned the car in Adelaide last week. Then we flew over to Tassie, hired a new car and will do a rouindtrip the next 2 weeks. Started in Hobart and went to Saddle Mountain and then to Stanley. After two nights in Stanley we are heading for Launceston.
Arrived yesterday. Today we are going by foot to Cataract Gorge and will log caches on our way.
Lots of construction works in the area around old Hydro Electric Dept building.
But we found all infos and found the new GZ. Clever cache. Fav. point.
TFTC

04-Nov-16
Started today's cachig with this one. First I had trouble finding the year, but moving some meters to this or that side helped. The next waypoint was easily found and I hoped for as quick a find for the final. Of course, this took a little longer and a second thought (or was that a third one, too?), but finally, I was able to sign the logbook.
Thanks a lot for the multi and the different views, Tassie2Heads!

06-Oct-16

AT LAST,

out thanks to the CO for replacing the prize. I feel redeemed. I was looking in the correct spot all the time. As we say :

Bloody Nanos! Spawn of Satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who sells Nanos.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xeh4-RNZEs

The views at night were brilliant. Well worth 3 visits!! Or was it 4..... Sad

Clear skies from TeamAstro.

06-Oct-16
Finally nabbed this one after some very welcome intervention from the owner. You nearly broke Astro, lol
Many thanks Tassie2Heads from the Wacky one Cool

01-Oct-16
You pwned us n00bs for a second time.

We will return.

After a hint from the owner, I reexamined an object I found on my first visit. I could not see a cache container or log to sign, hence another DNF. Love to know if I missed the obvious - or if it has gone. Sad

Love you work - great multi. next time.

Thanks to Tassie2Heads and clear skies from TeamAstro.

27-Sep-16
Well I know I got to GZ and I was pwned like a n00b. Found the decoy and kicked a few things around but failed. I will return. You are only as good as your next find! Clear skies.

*8/09/2016, Found @ 1:42 PM, Find # 5636.*

While on my trip around Tasmania looking for caches, this one was found.
I thought that it was about time for another multicache so I gave this one ago but it did give me a it of grief.
I headed to the first waypoint but I wasn't seeing the numbers that I was needing so I headed to the second which was found nice and easy.
I decided to go for a walk around the streets and I found the front of the said building but I still could not see any numbers of a year.
It was now time to consult Google and I soon had what was needed, now we the sums done I headed over to GZ, found the cache so I though but upon opening it I was wrong, a further search and I was soon signing the log.

**Thanks to Tassie2Heads for placing this cache.**

14-Aug-16
Found with Grumbligrot (Pop)

14-Aug-16
Went rummaging around with POP's Geomonkey and cursed spit and sparked when we found the fake cache. But kept looking and bingo cache in hand and souvenir rewarded. TFTC.

02-Aug-16
TFTV. The dog is friendly.

30-Jul-16
Enjoyed this cache a lot and took us 2 goes at final way point. Not sure final log is in its original spot though

24-Jul-16
First premium cache

08-Jun-16
Good one! Could have easily missed it.

08-Jun-16
May the way of the Hero lead to the cache!

29-Mar-16
Had my doubts about finding this one, but after the initial distraction of the red herring, thought like a geocacher & soon had cache in hand. Love your work Smile TFTC

31-Jan-16
Found all the way points, got to the final location, found the tricky fake cache too, but no luck on the real cache. We found a lone magnet without anything attached and wondered whether this is where the cache once was. We searched the ground and dug around for a long time in the area - not sure if it's still there. Doesn't look like it's been found since October!!!

30-Jan-16
Checked cache today. It's still there. If you find it don't forget to "log" it.......

07-Nov-15
Contrary to previous comments, wp1 is still clearly visible. The property it's on is privately owned and there is no need to trespass. Approaching from Argyle St will help.

14-Oct-15
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.

Finally feeling well enough to cache, Mr Felix declared today was to be a full day out and about. Big Grin

So having been in this area for 5 weeks we decided today was the day to visit Cataract Gorge and surrounds. Funny day overcast and cool 1 minute sunny and warm the next so jumper on jumper off was the big game of the day! [:o)]

As previously logged wpt1 is no longer readily available, but google helped there. Wpt2 no problems then the sums done and off to GZ. Cache was soon located with accurate coords. Razz

Looking forward to meeting local cachers at the Event on 17th October.

TFTC a multi with great views. Thanks for taking me to these places. Carlin&Sondra wanted to do a multi so as there was not many left to do in Launceston - this was the one to do. We were soon at the final spot but we were stumped - thought we had found it straight up but no a nasty trick!! We left empty handed. I returned several days later and was rewarded with a smiley face. A great hide well camouflaged but retrieving the log proved tricky for me. Hint for others after me - take a log extraction tool.

16-Aug-15
Nice scenic walk. Tftc. Hunted, tagged and released by activehunters.

25-Jun-15
Enjoyed the challenge and the physical workout as approached via the zig-zag. Great views were had and I gained a new perspective of an old town. The finale was a little evil and frustrating for a time, however, with persistence and applying my limited intellect and logic got there in the end.. thanks..!!

31-May-15
I spotted this cache before leaving home for Tassie as I always enjoy a multi. With some spare time I arrived at the start only to be puzzled as I tried to identify the the date. I could see the building but not the date. It is currently under conversion to a house. I resorted to a technological solution based on the address and found the date, thankfully! The next WP was fine and then after some calculations off to GZ and the twist at the end. Fortunately I surmounted that hurdle and then signed the log. Thanks for an interesting and challenging cache.

01-Apr-15
found it.
TFTC

24-Mar-15
Interesting cache, loved the hunt for this one.. Took me to a few spots I never knew existed before now.. I didn't know there was a Trig point up here until I stumbled on it tonight.
Great cache
Cheers

Tricky hide! We almost wanted to give up when we found it.

04-Feb-15
TFTC. Wasn't an easy find though.

11-Jan-15
Totally enjoyed this one despite some frustration at the end. Enjoyed the different views and the final twist. A favourite from us for this gem. A lot of people dont take the time for a multi but we find them very rewarding. TFTC

24-Dec-14
Out for a walk along the gorge and saw the close multi. Rather glad we didn't drive like the dinner party cacher. Entered the co ords wrong at first and were beside a very large hole in the middle of a field. Since we didn't have a shovel we rechecked how we'd entered the co ords. Corrected. Searched long and hard but even though we were certain we were close couldn't SL. Feeling something was amiss we contacted the co and explained what we'd found. Beyond the call of duty he visited GZ on Christmas Day and we are logging with permission. Loved the 3 points of view. Not ones many tourists probably see.

08-Nov-14
Lol love it great little twisty tricky cache Smile

08-Oct-14
Despite the fence at GZ, you can see the required information still on the side of the building, which at present has no scaffolding [^]
It's a relief to get away from the workmen and to the much prettier WP2 ! Wink
All coords worked out fine , and nice little hide too !
Thanks for the cache, Tassie2Heads ! Big Grin

30-Aug-14
I'll have to admit I made a bit of a meal of this one. A full 3 course dinner in fact. First off, not being ultra-familiar with W L'ton streets I stupidy allowed TomTom to get me in the vicinity. Tom, being equally stupid told me to drive through a dead end street & eventually, many turns later plonked me at the end of Hill St where I sallied forth, only to find WP1 was now behind me. Found the right track & got the numbers (still visible through the security fence) & continued on to WP2. Now I'm at the end of Quarry Rd & WP2 is only 70m or so away - up there! Good thing this isn't snaky season (least I hope not). Some time & much effort later I have the other numbers. Sat down to do the workings out & off I go (accidentally disturbing a young couple canoodling in the bushes in the process). Once at GZ I soon had something in my hand but the search continued. Much poking & the odd moan of "oh dear I think this is going to be a DNF" later & I had the logsheet inscribed. Rather than retracing my steps I succumbed & took the easier route back to the geotruck. Phew - worthy of a FP I think. Thanks Tassie2Heads for the fun, the exercise, the views & the cache. Oh, & for "dinner". Wink

21-Aug-14
Wow this has been a long process. I had the original info for a long time. When I finally got around to finishing it off I struggled to locate it. Finally neighbor Choppersrule helped me sufficiently to find it. Then I forgot to log it for 5 months. All good now TFTC

19-Aug-14
Couldn't find this time Sad
Seemed to be protected by about 1000 cache guardians.

06-Jul-14
This had us searching for quite some time. Eventually got there. TFTC

13-Jun-14
Called in to check on the cache today after seeing a DNF. It was still there but not where it should have been. I have replaced it to it's intended position. Please make sure that when you find this cache it is replaced as you found it. Thank you and happy caching!!

08-Jun-14
Frustrated feel close but can't find it

23-Apr-14
#5414. Extended the round the gorge circuit to get to these nice waypoints. Good views. Finding the final was both easy and hard. Good coordinates made it easy. But finding the actual cache container required a short search, and in the end was almost by accident at GZ. Replaced as found. TNLNSL. TFTC.

06-Apr-14
Tricky hide. Got to GZ easily enough but the real cache had us fooled for quite a while. TFTC.

01-Mar-14
Thanks far from grey for keeping the kids amused

01-Mar-14
The old decoy in a box trick. Kids where excited but Broken hearted when I said I have the real thing here. TFTMC

TFTC and greetings from Germany

Awesome hide, we each picked it up one lol

01-Oct-13
Lol good one

06-Jul-13
Elcato 6/7/13 tftc with great help from our friends Choppersrule

21-Jun-13
Oh, what a mean find!
But what an excellent hide!
A multi-cache that was great fun to walk around and notice things in areas I've walked since I was a kid.

Thanks, Tassie2Heads for a great little multi-cache and a wonderful hide Smile

10-Jun-13
Another cruel cache. Getting the first number was difficult but with permission of the land holder it was grabbed easy enough. Then to wp2 then on to the cache container. A really cruel hide. Tftc. 10/06/13 11:10 AM

19-May-13
Wow! 2 for the price of one if you grab the trig up here. The rabbit warren of streets in this area made getting to the WP's a bit tricky and the GPS took us up a few dead end streets that were marked on our maps as going through [time to update I think]. Once there we had no trouble getting the required info and finding the nicely made cache. Thanks.

04-Apr-13
Hi Tassie2Heads
I think for your first multi you've done very well! Congrats!!

Found the cache quickly near another at 1252hrs this morning.

TFTC and the fun of a find
Cheers OldSaint.

29-Mar-13
This was our 2nd cache find in the caching run & we found it at 12:08
So this now makes our total find count 6061.

[blue]
What a day it's been. We were originally supposed to meet some friends at McDonalds, but somehow we each ended up in different ones. After we sorted that out, and after a good (??) coffee we were off and running on our cache hunt for the day.

Today must be a good day for caching, because we have been able to meet and chat with three teams during the day.

It looks like the building is undergoing some renovation works. Thanks ChoppersRule for letting us know about this great cache. This one gets a favorite point from us for ingenuity.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Under 2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks Tassie2Heads for the hunt today.

26-Mar-13
As we approached waypoint 1 we wondered how much of the building was still standing as partial demolition, cleaning of old bricks and pallets of reclaimed bricks were around the area. Thankfully the required information was still in place. The coordinates for waypoint 2 were spot on and the required information quickly obtained. At GZ we first got a little sidetracked but then quickly located the cache in an excellent hide. The coordinates were spot-on. Thanks Tassie2Heads for a good multi in an area we had not visited previously.

25-Mar-13
Wow a cache wright out side my back yard doesent get any better than this was going to put one here my self but missed out. Great first multi t.f.t.c

25-Mar-13
Nice to find a multi just outside my back fence. Would have found it sooner but had sick family members and pelting and freezing rain. Got the first two WP yesterday between rain spurts and got the tricky cache this morning. TFTC

24-Mar-13
good find

23-Mar-13
Well done Tassie2Heads, what a great multicache. A couple of great view points leading to a very clever hide. Never been up here before. The kids worked out the maths for me. Obviously you have put a lot of thought into this one. TFTC.
PS is there such a thing as STF (second to find)?

21-Mar-13
Woo Hoo Smile *FTF* Smile @ 19:00hrs. Braved the wind and horizontal rain as we ventured out to find this cache. We made our way around the waypoints, the second waypoint was 44 metres out, but due to the question it was easy to find, till we reached the final cache after a false start, yep it was blank Big Grin. We were rewarded with a FTF. This was a great cache with a difference, well done Tassie2heads. TFTC.

21-Mar-13
Well done Tassie Trekkers!!! Glad you pointed out an error with the coordinates, slip of the finger. Fixed now. Thanks Smile
