No sign of a cache anywhere.

26-Aug-16
Uh oh. Two DNFs now from experienced cachers. Looks like this one is missing again. Given that this is an ever increasing occurrence, I can only surmise that it has become known to locals. No point replacing in the same location.

Will archive on this basis. I hope another JPGORDO tribute cache gets published soon!

19-Aug-16
No prickles, no webs, no wasps and for me no cache. Maybe I'm not looking properly.

10-Jul-16
Found still alive and well thanks to geo hubby height

Roma day 2, we have set up camp at the Gun Club
Today we cached on the outskirts of the town.
After contacting the owner, we have replaced the container. Called by here yesterday but a very enthusiastic game of footy was in progress.
Thanks for placing this cache 5Meerkats

It is with great sadness that I write this. That was the second earnest DNF from cachers I know and respect. So I must declare it missing. Let's see what I can arrange.....

26-Mar-16
A little disheartened with no cache find. Lots of prickles, webs and wasps though.

26-Mar-16
We have to add our names to the DNF list, unfortunately. Our devices took us to a structure which we searched as best we could but some of it was under inches of thick spiderweb and we just weren't going to go anywhere near that. Copious prickles made it hard to search low, and a serious wasps nest inside the structure discouraged further searching there too. No people around, at least! A pity not to pick up the cache for the most prolific cacher around here. Thanks anyway, 5Meerkats. =^.^=

28-Feb-16
Sadly after some time spent searching we came up empty handed. Next time.

06-Jan-16
Looked high, low, in, out, under & over & for despite gps & phone telling me I was on top of it & yet for the life if me I couldn't find Sad

On our way to Barcaldine today over-nighting at Mitchell - catching up on a few we had to miss last trip out here. Got it this time - we ventured inside the gates! Surprised

Found at on 21st August 2015. TFTC.

02-Aug-15
Found after a bit of a search - clever hide!

Although I am wondering if I have found the right one - the last log date is 21 April?

Thanks for the cache 5Meerkats. I have seen a few of jpgordo's caches on our travels. Smile

By golly, Meerkats. I'm reminded I still haven't found that Binary closer to home!! No matter, I found this one with a little help from Mrs George. TFTC, even if I had to drive hours to find it.

29-Jun-15
I swung past this one to check on it on Monday. The cache is still there; exactly as expected.

I am sorry to hear about the last seeker wasting an hour. It is certainly not intended to be a tricky one. Go try again if you are in the area!

27-Jun-15
Could not find it, looked for an hour, think it might have been taken.

23-May-15
We arrived relatively early this morning at 7.50 am. The gates were open, but when getting to GZ as suggested by two GPSrs, the fence was down on the ground after the mowing and whipper-snipping. We couldn't find anything - so will keep this on a watch list for our next western geocaching adventure

21-Apr-15
Still enjoying time caching and camping with FelixII. Today we had a ball while visiting the Roma Saleyards.

The whole setup is very interestng to us city folk and we watched the proceedings with great interest for going on two hours. I particularly enjoyed watching the riders on horse back directing some of the cattle where they needed to go.Big Grin

Nice to see a cache dedicated to someone who has hidden so many cachesthat we have enjoyed finding.

Well done 5Meerkats[^]

I stopped past this one yesterday. It is, indeed, missing. I will procure a replacement container and install upon my next trip to Roma.

Another unsuccessful find in Roma. We have had a few blue sad faces from this visit. We spent quite a while looking for this one. Some cars were going in to the Leagues Club all of which stopped to look at us. We didn't speak. I guess we were conscious we were being watched so this probably hindered our hunting. I'm glad this cache has been put out in honour of jpgordo as it would be boring out this way if it wasn't for all his caches.

20-Apr-14

Easter 2014 (April 17-21) saw Jimmyproject and half of Cat&Mouse head West, ultimately to Adavale http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adavale) just under two hours from Charleville, to hopefully [?] claim a 21 month old FTF http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3MRHK_adavale-1949-migrants?guid=3bce4eb1-1b4f-417a-9c65-065b5f5ebb4d

The first leg of the journey was Brisbane (leaving at 4.30am Surprised) to the first stop at Dalby and for breakfast (need coffee [|)]!!!!!!) then westward to Roma for late lunch. A short stop and we pressed on to Charleville for dinner, which was no mean feat given we rocked into town on Easter Friday. Special thanks to Fat Freddies who were open and fed us all nicely, albeit a little hysterically (on our behalf) due to the long drive and tiredness.

Saturday we spent at Adavale and then back on the road to Roma. Dinner in town and an early night to catch up on some sleep, then up on Sunday morning to conquer the caches in Roma and surrounds.

Up at a decent hour on Monday and we cached our way back to Brisbane tired and thoroughly happy with our “Bush” long weekend.

Arrived at GZ and while the gates were open and signs indicated there was to be a game there today, we managed to be there before all the festivities began. A short search and we were able to add our name to the log. TFTC

No luck here and muggles everywhere so had to leave it. Sad

Found it after a good search. Clever hide. TFTC 5Meerkats

10-Mar-14
Parked safely and began my search. I could not find it and was about to drive away when I noticed the attribute NA 24/7. OH NO it is inside the gate. No one around so I began my search in the most obvious spot close to the co ordinates on the gizmo and soon had the cleverly hidden container in hand. All good with this one. Signed log YOF as that is what I use on small logs to save space. TFTC 5Meerkats.

16th find for the day and the first for Mrs Beetle. 2 muggles were there practising their skills at 4.47pm. Think we got this one just in time as when we went back past 20 minutes later the players were beginning to roll in for practise. Thanks.

Had to return to this one a second time today as we were being watched suspiciously earlier on. It took us a while and we almost giving up, but alas, geohubby came up with the goods. Thanks 5Meerkats for the cache. 221 for us now and 8 days in a row for August Challenge.

# 6077 Found on the way north on our 2013 winter escape trip to Qld.
We are here at Roma for a few days and a look around the sights as well.
No muggles around here today but then one arrived just as I was leaving.
A nice hide that almost had me beat until I spotted it at the right angle.
Thanks for the cache 5Meerkats,
Roostaman.

North Qld 2013. Day 4 was Roma to a rest area west of Emerald. A very wet afternoon. There was a party on here last night so I came back in the morning. I don't know about your fiend, but it took me quite awhile to find this one. Thanks.

Found at 3:20 PM GAFF1. When we looked up the internet to see what Roma had to offer, a list of half a dozen famous people was listed a coming from Roma - and they were nearly all rugby players!
This cache was a simple, but effective hide.
Thanks 5Meerkats.
Feedback: We are not sure what he hint means - is it supposed to help us find the cache?

I didn't want to leave Roma without a crack at the cache placed by my geo-bud, Mr 5Meerkats. My group was travelling together in a mini-bus so opportunities would be limited. Hence a late-night walk and thank goodness I was at the Great Western and not the other side of town. I soon discovered no one seems to walk around Roma: everyone drives, so personal safety became less of a concern. I was almost upon the GZ when I noticed the 'not 24/7' attribute. Uh oh!
Following the fence-line up, I was relieved to see the gate was still open and then it was time to get down and dirty, which proved fruitless. I paused to munch more M&Ms and enjoy a thinking iced coffee, hoping no one noticed my phone light. I don't think they did.
At last I found the little fellow in the last possible spot! All in fine condition so TFTC 5M and I agree: well done to jpgordo on your great efforts out this way.

Had a quick look but no joy for me today.
Maybe on another trip I can try again.

Found today - this may have been embarassing if we had not found it. Looked high and low but not low enough!! Was it suppose to be there ? or had it fallen. John is going to speak to you as it is in flood country. Thanks so much to you for thinking about us in the hide. Cheers
