Logs
As I am not present in the ACT at the moment, I would appreciate a local cacher replacing the log in the interim please?
Out for drinks & a catch up with some friends and remembered that I had previously attempted this one but was not up to the task... I consider myself relatively tall, but not tall enough, so brought along the Tealby B Team to assist. He made an easy retrieval and I was able to find a space inside the log book cover to sign my name. TFTC.
Looked for awhile but couldn't find it sorry!

Smurfette and I came back again later in the day with a fellow geocacher and managed to find it this time!

Decided that I needed to keep the caching streak alive, and was in the area with a fellow cacher, so we decided to have a look for this one. He'd had a DNF on it earlier in the day, so we thought a second pair of eyes might help.
Spotted quickly, but the trick then became the retrieve. But managed to get to it in the end and signed our names in the last tiny space. Will need to have a new log for this one.
Thanks for the cache VikingOlly.

As said in my 'Found it' log, the cache's logbook is full. There is only 1 place to sign on the back cover in the logbook.
This was a nice find for my daily cache. We parked near GZ and walked over. It was drizzling but that didn't bother us. I quickly spotted the cache and with a bit of difficulty I managed to grab it. I signed my name on the back cover in the logbook - it's full. I replaced the cache back with some difficulty (again).
Our thanks to VikingOlly!!

Geoteen's driving lesson was little short trips of at least 161m today. This one was a bit out of reach but muggle free on a Sunday afternoon. The tool that helped grab it assisted to push it back into place and the strong magnet was appreciated. TFTC.
Could see it, but not retrieve it... back to car for retrieval aid, but a curious bus passenger made me detour via the shops until she departed. Mission accomplished!

After checking out the wrong feature for a couple of minutes I finally had the right spot. Getting it was easier than putting it back.
It earned its terrain points! And lots of curious muggles to avoid! Found with angelG27 and a very useful muggle friend. Tftc

Found with Elekra48 and Muggle Friend who came in very handy! After finding a couple of the other Good Food caches nearby, I made the first mistake of thinking this cache would be around the same difficulty. The second mistake was being at the GZ at lunchtime, so there were a lot of muggles walking, driving and having smoko near by...sigh. After retriving the cache (and this is where Muggle Friend must be thanked for her assistance), we had some interesting muggles watching us closely. So we went for a drive and collected another cache (729 lashes if you must know) and came back a few minutes later to replace the cache. Elekra48 may have banged her head in the effort, but Muggle Friend was a trooper!
Thanks Viking Olly for the excitement! TFTC.

On my way back from the Fyswick markets and decided to take a short detour, and I'm glad I did, I haven't been to Griffith shops before a nice place to visit perhaps one evening.. found quickly

Found while out on a family caching afternoon. A tricky hide, but a good one. TFTC
This one took a bit of hunting, but eventually was found. And then the retrieval was the next problem to encounter. But we got there in the end... Thanks for the cache!!
Great day out for caching with Everlasting & skyejam - enjoyed this area. Thanks for bringing us here ★★★
Accompanied with skyejam and sevabo for the day, we enjoyed search, found, signed the log. Thanks VikingOlly.
A friend and I swung past here to buy the kids an iceblock - cold weather just seem to make them like iceblocks more! I only had the cruddy phone as my gps today and after a bit of wandering around, I looked at the terrain rating and found it quickly. Geokid assisted in retrieving the cache. Log signed, cache replaced and then I let geokid down.
Thanks VikingOlly - I seldom do urban caches and this was a nice one.

So after another DNF in Manuka (there seems to be a trend going on here, one DNF then I make a find hmmm) I headed over to this one. Read previous logs in the warmth of the geomobile and I wasnt too confident on getting this one. I seem to be vertically challenged for these types of caches.
Anyways ill give it a go.
Hmm that was way too easy, surely that cant be the correct placement? Being a shorty like me, I made the find very easily..... I will email CO with an image of where I found it to identify if its the right placement though based on previous logs, I really dont think it is.
Signed log, returned to where I found it and resorted back to the car for some warmth.

Today is a niceish day at the moment, and it's Saturday. I've been a bit crook, and a bit depressed because yesterday was the first anniversary of my wife's funeral. I'm not wasting a nice day for Geocaching, particularly in view of my aim to reach 1000 finds before my first Geocaching anniversary.
The GeoSchnauzers are looking appealingly at me as I pack my Geocaching kit. C'mon, GeoSchnauzers!!! They need a walk, and they're getting used to short parks and grabs. That's all I'm intending to do today, because my mate Knightech is doing some home maintenance, and I'm going to give him a hand. At the start of today, I'm on 703. This is number 7 of 12 I found today. .
This was a quick park and grab, with no walk. TFTC!!

Was too dark last night to have a decent look but no problem today, just the retrieving and replacement, TFTC
Found with Renwallz, who reached up and grabbed it without too much fuss. Tks VikingOlly! Headed off to find another VikingOlly cache nearby.
Found with tripperOutThere. This is one of those awesome caches that is right under people's noses, but no one ever sees it unless they're looking for it. Thanks for the cache.
Nice hide and camo .
We found and logged quickly.
Many thanks for the cache invite.

Quick find after some delicious food at nearby Rubicon. 5+ years in Canberra, and it's only on my 2nd to last day that I finally made to this great institution.
Originally was going to head up Red Hill to walk the dog but just as I arrived the thunder started and it was looking ominously grey so instead we opted for some urban caching. I had been unable to attempt this last time I was here as it was for a work Christmas party and let's just say that my attire that night, when combined with the consumption of champagne was not going to result in a graceful attempt.
Today I was wisely in shorts and runners and having just done a Step class it seemed a natural progression. So up I went, although it needed to be a little more graceful for those of us that are significantly closer to the ground than others. Thankfully the grace was sufficient to make the move, sign the log and return it in between cars, buses and other dog-walkers.

A very nice spot to have a break and nice shops and restaurants near by. Easy to take it down thanks to dogs toys, not so easy to get it back on, but I took the step. TFTC
The search 'Vietnamese canberra' brought this out-of-towner to Griffith, and thus this cache. TFTC TNLN SL
Happened to be picking up Friday night takeaway from our favourite Thai restaurant in Canberra and admired the nearby park thinking, "I don't remember ever getting a cache here. Surely there must be one." A quick check of the phone, a 60m walk and the cache was easily in hand. Signed log: TNGD. TFTC!
A quick find with Cachehunter, but took ages to retrieve. Had a suspicious muggle eyeing us off, but no big hassles.

After a lovely meal nearby tonight, it seemed only appropriate to "step Up" to the challenge of this cache at the end of our great night out. Griffith shops has long been home to some great restaurants, and our meal tonight was no exception.

Just visited my cousin nearby then had a great coffee and toasted Sami at the Griffion cafe
#1323 - 16:25; Collected the geomobile from the mechanics and took the opportunity to bag a few caches on the way back to the city. Still deep in Viking country here. This was the second of four this afternoon, along with a another in the gourmet series I bagged this morning, which all belong to VikingOlly! TFTC VikingOlly
Found today while out caching with GrimRaider. I am trying to get my numbers up so I can grab my 1000th cache tomorrow. We had a bit of fun with this one and it took a little while and a search of previous logs to get to gz. Nice hide and a bit of a reach but we soon had the cache in hand. Getting it back between muggles was tricky too. Thanks for the cache - nice one
Quick find after some great, tasty brunch nearby. Thanks for the cache, enjoyed the hide
Picked this one up just before we lost the light today - had us zig-zagging in all directions, then we settled on a 44.7 metre call - gave me a chance to boost Binni Thanks VikingOlly
Thought this would be much more tricky than it turned out to be with late afternoon muggles still around. TFTC VikingOlly
Quick grab with an assist from the geofiance. TFTC really love the food at Gryphons.
Found @ 6:24pm
Had to make two trips to GZ, the second time after collecting a tool from my car to retrieve the cache (I'd only just put the tool back in my car today!).
The cache was a bit harder to replace but I got it there in the end.
Thanks VikingOlly

Geocache #535.
Found on Saturday, 7th September 2013 at 9:13 PM.
Conditions: clear.
Current streak #38 days.
Today's finds 9 of 10.
My 434th find for The Great Scouts Australia Geocaching Competition 2013. With just over a week of the competition remaining, I had some leave owing and decided to take it for a geo-adventure in the Australian Capital Territory and Canberra. What a way to celebrate Canberra's centenary, as well as the Federal election!
After checking into my hotel, I went for a drive to pick up a few more caches before calling it a night to get ready for an early start in the morning. Armed with my torch in hand, it took me a few minutes until I managed to spot the little critter and reaching it was even harder! TFTC VikingOlly.

This was my second visit, last time lots of work going on, anyway I found it and moved on.
Saturday 31 August 2013 - another magnificant warm sunny winter's day. Spent the afternoon delivery wedding invites while also geocaching with GeoGrandma around Red Hill. Quick and easy find. TFTC.
Hadn't considered myself short until tried to retrieve and then return this one. Quick find and relatively quick to get but used what was around to replace. TFTC
Finally Got this one. Been here a number of times previously but each time I've had to call off the search either due to it getting busy or to dark to see anything (I figure using a torch probably isn't the smartest thing).
Was able to just get the cache but it wasn't easy. TFTC

7205 + 863 = 8068. Found during the monthly search for caches....
Found with GSC2000 and Stardust2410. In fact without their help it wouldn't be a smilie !! I love the story here about two caches - funny as. Even saw the evidence on the cache container ! 10 out of 31 tick !!
Thanks VikingOlly !!

Well, there are actually two caches here now ! Probably the old one and now also the new. Still didn't help me initially and it took a few laps before I spied them. TFTC!
Mmmm. What a classic! Due to the last two logs I decided to investigate, knowing that the local council had done a lot of work around GZ soon after the cache was placed. When the container went missing, I replaced it in the original position. In fact the council had painted the cache at the same time as they did their cleanup! And it was moved a lot. So now there is one cache container only, maintained and camped by the council with their roller paint brush. Cache on!
It must have been the late afternoon shadows because we looked and looked here, before getting direction from a friend and there they were in view - two caches in fact. Thanks VikingOlly.
7141. [green]Interesting logging after others and the CO although finding it before them. When I walked up I could spot the cache straight away due to thew sticker on the end. But I thought that was a bar so left it and grabbed the other container. It was only when I was replacing the first cache that I noticed the bar was another cache so for good luck signed the log in it too. Better to sign more often than to have not signed the logbook at all..... [/green]
[blue]Thanks for the cache VikingOlly and the mirror. [/blue]

this cache has been muggled probably by the construction workers who have cleaned up all the trees and cables around GZ. I will replace it today.
There is some work ongoing opposite the street. And some fresh truck marks on this side. Is it still accessible ?
