Thanks. Lucky we looked at the log as was uncertain if we could touch it. Fyi the log book is a bit soaked so couldn't log anything.

Dont want to give the cache away so all I'll say is that it's very sneaky and well crafted. TFTC
On arrival at gz there was only one likely spot this size cache would be, but I wasn't sure I should touch what I found. However, plucked up the courage and yes, that was it. Lovely views from here today, even some snow on the mountains in the distance. tftc and bringing us up here.
I'm in Christchurch for a few days for work so of course I have to get some geocaching in. I came down a day early so I could get a rental car for the day to target some specific caches in the surrounding area.Fantastic hide! I was a bit worried at first but the signs were there. All good here and TFTC+FPFind #6423 at 25 February 2024 3:05 pm
With a rental car only for one day, my plan for Rolleston and Lincoln changed due to the weather. Instead of getting lots, I focused on high fav numbers and to get only a few. Still trying to rain, and I'm not getting too wet without a coat. Quick find, and another fav point given!
We hunted for this awhile ago and finally had a chance to look for it again. Thank you!
Our family moved to Christchurch a few months back, and since then we have had the privilege of hosting some of my Wellington Puzzlers group members for caching weekends. This weekend was TwigNZ's turn.Since we were in the area having just chased a FTF, we decided to get this and a few other caches in the immediate proximity. Really enjoyed this one. We spotted something and had a look but at first glance disregarded it as TwigNZ wasn't sure we should be touching it. After a few moments we went back and had a closer look and I noticed an identifying factor. Thanks for the cache.
I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.This is Day 4, my last day before catching my flight back to Wellington this evening. I wasn't sure what my plans actually were for today, but whatever they may have been was soon forgotten with the publication of a new cache. ThatDarnBear, who has kindly been hosting me for my visit, and I sat down and tried to solve it. We did well, but not quite well enough for a quick solve. A few discussions with friends soon had it sorted out and then we jumped into the car...We missed out on that FTF, but whilst we were in this area we took the opportunity to do some other caches including this one.I cottoned on to where it might be pretty quickly, but initially dismissed it once I'd taken a look. However, in the absence of anything else we came and took a second look. I was still reticent about investigating further, but TDB spotted a little clue which gave me the confidence to open the container. No issues to report here, so once we had signed the log it was all replaced as found. Thanks for setting this one up. FP for the creativity.
#3,998: Armchair Smiley!I came out to this one on a mission to reach 4,000 finds by the end of 2023. Since I am a "quality over quantity" cacher, I decided to (a) bike to most of the ones I do for the rest of the year, (b) favour caches placed by caching mates and (c) try to find caches with high fav points. This one fits the bill!I've never been to this part of the Port Hills, and it is indeed a nice, different view. At first I didn't know what to look for, spotted the eventual box, but though: "Naw, that couldn't be it." So, I turned on the "Chirp" function of my GPSr, just to see if something did indeed "Tweet" to me. But nothing. Finally, I trusted myself to look deeper, and found the prize. Things are quite soaked, but luckily, I had some materials with me. I put a fresh log in a baggie, and put that inside a pill bottle, and put that back in the container. And put everything else (including the original log inside a new baggie, for posterity) back in the container, and sealed it up. Hopefully it stay dry!Two more finds to go! I think I'll wait until New Years Eve Day for those.Fav point for the hide and occasion.SL/TFTC!!
Tftc! Really nice spot, very wet log though and did what I could to write my name and air it out.
Enjoying the challanges of cache finds on day 4 of my trip away with tmann421.Thought we were heading into some bad weather but fortunatly turned into a hot sunny day,Signed all logs tm/ww NZThanks to all the cache owners for their efforts Workers here today but they were taking no notice of us. Soon were in and out with the log signed
Down in the Christchurch area with woolwood9. Day 4 - another very nice day out.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thank you for the reason to visit this cache and location *Good find here, nice construction.*
This is probably one of the coolest caches I've found so far. Thought I was gonna get sprayed with water but turns out it was the right place! TFTC
Came by with Gummi_Venus to avenge my DNF. After a good hard nudge from the CO, I was able to go straight to it. This thing is a beauty! FP well earned. Log is wet and difficult to sign so photo sent to CO. Did our best to scratch our names into the log.
Bit of a mission to find this one today but I was determined!!! It took two of us around 15 mins! Overgrowth and then recent mowing made searching difficult but once I was sure I knew what I was looking for and better focused in on the area, I finally made the find. The walking pole we had in the truck came in handy as I ended up feeling rather than seeing the cache, and reading previous logs definitely helped. Luckily GZ was fairly quiet and muggle free on a Monday lunchtime. TFTC- it certainly deserves all the favourite points.Unfortunately the log and other cache contents are very wet. I managed to scrape the date and my initials into the mushy log, but have also provided a photo as proof.
0 takes me to a fence that doesnt seem quite capable of housing a regular size cache (it also has recently been weeded). Poked around a dodgy looking pole. Poked around some gorse. Read some logs. Gave up. This area is a DNF black hole for me.
# Very Cheeky Cache #
When we got to cache location, as usual we searched around. Found nothing but normal utilities. Then looked at previous logs, and opened the cache. Thought about how cheeky this hide was. Nice cache, TFTC

Had some time in Christchurch without Ball so grabbed a few high favourites I was passing. Nice cache with a lot of time put into its making. Thanks for the cache.
Girded my loins and made the find. I didn't think there were many muggles around, but as soon as I returned the hide and made good, people and cars turned up. Felt rather relieved.
The road works are gone! I was nearby and decided to come up and have a look for this one since it has so many favourite points. I'm glad I did! I read the logs thoroughly before heading to the area, had to reread the description when I arrived as my phone GPS wasn't cooperating well enough at first, but on second attempt it did and I spotted something that fitted in with what I had read. Very cool cache! To future searchers - read all the logs if you're having trouble!
Came up here today to find that GZ is currently, literally, in the middle of active roadworks.
It's one lane with stop/go sign people at the top and bottom of the hilly corner and workers directly opposite the hide so not only are you not allowed to stop but you wouldn't be able to search without questions being asked and several pairs of eyes on you.
I was really looking forward to looking for this cache- I will be back!!!

Nice and sneaky. Would have missed it but reread the log and one word (not saying which one) put me on the right direction.

I couldn't find it! Although I found a tipped over rubbish bin. Might try again some other day
Had a look for this one just the other day, but no luck... But wouldn't you know it? Meet up with CO found at a FTF further up, so he stopped of with me and Greg, and pointed is in the right direction. Very clever. Nice to meet you.... Cheers
Found GZ..... looked, but Mumbo11 didn't think it was...... I thought it must have been...... After another 2 mins searching, we tried it again and I was right..... Log filled and donation left.... Cool disguise.....
Finally looked opened where we thought it should be (with the clue) but it’s empty! Has it been taken?
When I first spied the cache had the uneasy feeling this may not end well if I'm wrong, fortunately, I had guessed correctly; TFTC

A nice quick find here with my partner in crime... Claire.E.G. The log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in it's spot all ready for the next hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
A beautiful day to explore a part of Christchurch I've never been to. Thanks for the cache, found with Sherlock the Puppy
Pleased to have found this cache as I tried a couple of years ago with no luck.
Well this wasn't a quick easy find! Thought I knew what I was looking for but had no luck. After 15mins I TaF and TCO with both giving the nudge and I eventually "uncovered" the right spot. This is a very clever container well hidden and the name finally clicked. Thanks for such a cool clever cache.
On holiday from Taupo with family and had a visit to the Christchurch Adventure Park. What an amazing place. Very impressed with all the wonderful facilities there. On way home found this cache after a frustrating look. A big stick was handy. TFTC
Back for another attempt after a dnf 3 years ago. I'd figured out what to look for in the meantime and confirmed with the CO but still found this very difficult to locate. Luckily found an onsite tool that helped with the find as cache was well covered. Awesome cache though, thanks for the effort put in to create this Team_Gaters!
Managed to sneak away from work while it was still light, and got to the top of the hill to enjoy a beautiful view of the sun setting. I sniffed around several likely looking spots, trying to dodge the gorse, before pausing and re-thinking my approach. Managed to get my hands on the cache shortly afterwards, in between dog-walking muggles. Nicely hidden! TDTC
Clever cache though I think the words geocache should be on the white container. Left travel bug
What a fantastic cache so very clever. Don't understand previous log yesterday as everything was there nice dry log book, bag of swaps for children. Thanks for the fun, definately an arm twister great title. Will give a fav from us. Thanks Team_Gaters.
Found where cache was ment to be this time but nothing was there hopefully it will be returned
In Christchurch for the weekend with Gadget169 in search of some high FP caches for the Carnival Souvenirs. This one had us stumped for a bit but then after reading previous logs we soon had cache in hand. What a great hide this was! TFTC
Came up to CHCH with KJR to find caches with high FP for the carnival souvenir this was not an easy one to find but KJR with the help from the logs found it. TFTC
Replaced logbook and plastic bags and added a few wee toys. All fresh and good to go again.
Clever. The logbook is a soggy mess in the large plastic bag so we added new paper to the tiny bag. TFTC
Making the most of a longer daylight after work. Mind you, by the time I got here, the city lights were on, making for a nice view, and by the time I found the cache, it was pitch dark. Not sure if the darkness falls too quickly nowadays, or if it took so long to locate Great hide!! TFTC!
This has taken me a good 40min to find this one, after giving up and going back to the car I start reading logs, this time i follow my GPS instead and boom i find it with ease.
Great cache the bag was full of water but cleared it out. Favorite point from me

After a few years off, I thought we were going to start with a DNF, but with support from kids & thinking 3 times harder, we found the cache & gave Santa a brief dry respite in the car. Thanks for a fun find.
Driving close by so thought we would detour to pick this up. Great views and enjoyed the cache - gets a fav from us. TFTC
Most excellent cache. Struggled a bit to physically retrieve the log book after second guessing ourselves. Great time with my Dad searching for this one. Thanks for this caching adventure. +favourite point from us.
I dot think I'd ever have found it had my cachelette not been jumping up and down begging me to give up.
It's good to finally cross this one off my list. Last time we looked with our eyes, this time we searched with our feet. We were a little cautious when we saw it, but pushed ourselves into opening it. Very nicely done. Tftc.
Found with injeanious, we signed the log as jeje. We had been here before with no luck. This time we found what we were looking for quickly but were a little scared to take it out. Tftc!
Thanks for the hint last night, TG. Much easier to spot today. Some judicious weeding last night helped! Thrilled to get that one off the dnf list.

At the closing of the event, the words were spoken and, as I'd had a DNF on this one just a couple of days ago, I too gave in and came to see what is this all about.
Yes, turned out that it was exactly the thing I suspected when I was first here and it was at the same exact spot, but somehow, the second time I was here, I totally couldn't find it anymore. The nature does wonders sometimes with cache camoing.
Well, there you go, all's dry that ends dry. I guess, favourite is well deserved here.

It helps when the owner is there to point out where it was. After two DNF's it was time to give this another go but when two others at the event mentioned they couldn't find it either, TG decided to join us for a looksie. Well, it even took him a wee bit to find it (phew) but there it was, plain as my right arm. Doh. Cheers, glad to not be haunted by this one any longer
DNF
My second attempt, on the first one I didn't even log a DNF. I think it was because there were muggles around and I didn't check one suspicious feature because of that. This time - no muggles but I couldn't find the feature I wanted to check anymore! Weird.

Third DNF of the day, but something tells me this one is still here. Intrigued to see what it is. I'll be back next time I'm in Chch.
No no no, not again. Around and around in circles I went, knowing what I was looking for and still no dice. Time to give up caching me thinks!
Ah - the satisfaction of a successful grab, just like a Christmas present And I was almost going to flag for another day, but persistence paid dividend TFCT!!
