It's the time for Mr Hunters' to take his big annual leave chunk for the year, 1.5 years into his first full time social work role in his home city of Canberra. This year, I decided to jump on my parents' holiday to Perth (next week) but beforehand, I wanted a solo geocaching splurge. I spotted the LGA series not too far from Perth, so I soon booked accommodation for 5 nights in Boddington with the intention to finish the entire series within that time. I was really looking forward to some quiet time for solo geocaching and to have simple pub meals in a quiet country town, I've been extremely busy over the past few months and given my job involves a lot of emotional energy, I wanted to visit a secluded location as far away from home as you can get, absolutely brilliant.I leave Boddington tomorrow so today, I took a lovely country drive to the mines, Quindanning, Williams and Wandering to collect some of the caches near the LGA series that I skipped during my big run on the series, plus some extra ones that I wanted (i.e. virtual and AL). Quick find at GZ after navigating through areas of shorter and longer grass, and spider webs. TFTC!
Thanks! This was a nice end to our geocaching detour adventure. And lovey swappable placed by someone- didnt take it as we hadnt brought something to swap it with but I love seeing iniquities swappables that people have put effort into.
Day 5 of my WAGB23 trip. My final day and with the rain pelting down I am forced to slow down today. This however will not stop me grabbing a few more hides while in the area. Many thanks Keego_and_Chil for placing this hide for me to find and adding to an awesome weekend at WAGB23. This will be my 6492 find.
Day 5 of our Narrogin WAGB23 long weekend. Up for some more fun with Geotrakka grabbing a few smiles between our Westoz commitments. The weather has turned, it’s raining and a bit chilly, but we have raincoats so I’m sure we can find a few today,

Most caches found today were quick finds with a few requiring some searching.
It got to 35 degrees today and lots of dust on the side roads.

From Narrogin we continued today to Wagin. After a stroll with LAB in Nagin we went a little powertrailing... but soon the joy was gone. So we decided to continue to Wagin to visit the giant sheep.
Thanks for the caches on the way.

1st of 32 finds on Marradong Road. Walked in circles through the bush until I spotted the familiar shape of a sistema container. Thanks for the hide.
Find 1 of 223 with 6 DNFs on our biggest ever day of caching. Back in June after hitting 9000 finds, we set a target to get to 10000 before our 10 year anniversary of starting caching which was back in September 2012. This series along with a three week trip to Europe were always going to be key to getting our quickest thousand and after today we are a lot closer.
We started out early (not as early as some) and cached from 915 till 5ish with a long break in Boddington for lunch. We soon got into the rhythm of leapfrogging with Mrs O in the car and Mr O on a mountain bike covering 55km across the day, up hill and down dale, on gravel, sand and tarmac.
This awesome series is the pre-eminent power trail in WA and we are so happy it is almost on the doorstep. Thanks to everyone involved in the organisation, placement and maintenance of these caches.
Started here as a warm up. TFTC K&C!

A big weekend finishing off the LGA series and finding caches in the surrounding areas with the BODS11 crew (Meme28, Burns345, I C Nothing, Kapelula, Cirrus_WA, Sir Fancy, Leg5, Lachlan1.77, geotrakka, PilotJen and PilotMal). Sorry about the generic logs.
Our plan on Day 2 of our big bods weekend had the BODS11 team hitting the road straight for the LGA’s. Of course we Picked up a few others during the day! Cheers K&C!
Down for the weekend in Quindanning to knock off the Boddington LGA series with a number of Perth cachers. This was one of my stops for the weekend. Apologies for the generic logs. Cheers Keego_and_Chil!

Today the geocaching mission for TaurusSix and myself is to tackle as much of the LGA series as practical. We have viewed and studied this series for a little while now and made the decision that in the cooler months we would give it a go, mindful that it will take a good few goes to collect the whole series. Having lived all over Australia we are familiar with many of the LGA’s around the country so that adds lots of extra interest from our perspective.
We have set ourselves some ambitious personal geocaching goals for today, such as: i) aiming for our highest amount of cache find in a day which is currently at 120 ii) aiming for our highest amount of cache finds in a week which is currently 136 iii) our highest cache finds in a month which is currently 250. With this in mind we made our way to Boddington last evening so we can make an early start on what will be a big geocaching day. The day started off wet but soon picked up to a nice coolish geocaching day.
Appreciation and gratitude to The Fellowship of the Trail for placing and maintaining this wonderful geocaching series.
This is our 199 cache find of the day along this fabulous trail. Obviously this is a stand alone cache but great to collect along with the others.

Started our 2nd tour of WA now touring around the south . Did your Patrick . 3 February 2022 3:23 pm Tyfc Keego_and_Chil total caches now 4146 .
We were on our way back to Boddington after completing the last caches inn the LGA series and stopped to find caches on the Albany Highway. This was one.
We enjoyed the short walk to this cache as there were many clumps of native iris flowering - a beautiful splash of deep mauve in the green. We made a quick find of this cache. The container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for this cache Keego and Chil. This was another Bushranger that we were not familiar with.

Last time I come past here, the parking area was a lay down area for the road work crew.

We missed this one today as the area is now used as a temporary road side lay down yard and site office.
Couldn't pass this one up. Was out doing the nearby LGA series and called in here to make a quick find. TFTC
Great morning for a walk. 2 degrees and caches to find. 2nd Bushranger find and more to go. TFTC
Driving back all the way to Perth on the Albany Hwy could have been boring, very boring. Luckily, there were loads of caches to find.
We were ambushed several times by bushrangers, yet all they wanted from us was to listen to their stories before they let us go again. Interesting stories of lives and destinies in violent times.
We hadn't known any of these men - apart from Ned Kelly, of course.
A great series, would have loved to find them all. However, quite often we missed the opportunity to stop, some we didn't find, so in the end we didn't find that many, but we definitely had fun.

Thanks for the interesting history of Patrick Daley. I always enjoy historical caches that create a sense of place. Interesting to imagine the time in which Patrick Daley lived.
Nicely done cache that was easily found.

Found it. TFTC Keego_and_Chil. just passing heading south so I thought I world try for a few smileys on this Bushranger series
After flying 'over West' and spending a day and a bit in Perth it was time to sample the wares of the extensive LGA power trail. Despite a late start that target of 100 caches was reached with only a handful of DNFs. At least a couple of those DNFs were most likely due to not having sufficient time for a thorough search.
The caches that were found were almost all in good order. My thanks to the Fellowship for having used the particular container - small enough that muggles won't notice but the lid did the trick on more than one ocassion. Thanks for a long but fun day out. My hope is to repeat the feat tomorrow.

Day Twenty of our holiday in Western Oz.
Bettyboo3747 and I loitered around Quindanning, and we did a few more of the LGA series, again!
A very variable day with howling winds, pissing rain to bright sunshine, several times!
The road, although wet, was still fine for 2WD.
Our last day on the LGA series. We just completed a short string of NSW that we had previously missed., and a few caches around Williams (where we had lunch at the Woolshed)
Patrick had a very young and short career as a bushranger!
Our first Australian Bushranger for today as we made our way to lunch.
Thanks, Robmc.

#13439. Day 20 of our WA holiday and our last caching day here as we fly home tomorrow.
This morning Robmc and I went out once more to finish off the LGA Series. Once that was done we started to round up the outstanding caches along the Albany Highway and around Williams itself.
The weather was not at all kind to us today, howling winds, slashing rain and gutters running deeply along the roadside. Eventually, we beat a retreat to the warmth of the Woolshed for lunch and internet access before continuing on to find a few more.
The first of a few bushranger caches gathered today.
Thanks Keego_and_Chils

Found by Mary & David at 0917. Another find in this series, and another FP. At least no Mary here. Our thanks to Keego_and_Chil.
A beautiful day and had to drive over to a friends farm so decided to take a slow drive and pick up as many caches along the way until the daylight ended. Visited a number of historic sites that I have driven past many times and not known they were there and also visited a few spots that were on the to do list.
An enjoyable afternoon
Last one for the day as daylight had gone - will be back to do some more Bushrangers in the future.
Thanks for the cache Keego_and_Chil [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry .
This was find # 14 of 14 and 1 today giving us a total cache count of 3384.

In Victoria there is a roadside slogan STOP – REVIVE – SURVIVE. We followed this advice today on the drive from Albany to Perth. This is one of the forty stops we made, learning and laughing along the way and adding our name to the log and collecting a smiley token! We survived!
Thanks Keego_and_Chil for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

On a mission to try and find 300 caches for the month so a nice drive to Williams via Albany Highway picking up a gang of Bush Rangers and a few others was the order of the day. A great day with 58 finds, 2 dnf's and one drive by as it was too tricky to pull off the road. A big thanks to the CO's involved and sorry for the mostly generic logs.

Hi there Keego_and_Chil.
We found your cache **"Patrick Daley - Australian Bushranger"** at 1:33:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15578).
We started the day off by moving our caravan to Williams. Then we spent the afternoon traveling up and down the Albany Highway logging 'caches.. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 21 caches today & DNF'd 0. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,

My Challenge cache for December was 'Hidden Dates' tracking the last one down on the 23/12. For January I am Hunting down numbers to complete a 300 finds in a month challenge cache. Yesterdays came mostly from the periodic table. But with the hot forecast today and plans this morning was unsure what today would bring.
I was chatting to PommieParkin2 this morning and said ' Where shall I cache to today in this heat?' The reply 'Park n grabs, I'll come'. So we decided to tackle the Australian Bushrangers series.
Starting just after Lunch from Jarrahdale, PommieParkin2 drove while I navigated the trip to Williams and back. We ended up finishing our afternoon adventure at around 7pm. The temperature made it into the 40s and so did our cache numbers most of them bushrangers with the odd extra thrown in now and again. Luckily for us though, most were nice and quick park and grabs before retreating back to the coolness of the air conditioned car. The bonus was no DNFs which we were proud of and a huge thank you to the COs and others for maintaining all the caches.
Find #19 on the return journey. Held up a store at Big Wombat - I wonder if thats where the name Big W came from [:p]

Me & the Mrs are about to embark on a 7 day trip to see a bit more of our vast state & hopfully collect a few more LGAs towards A certain challenge cache. This one is neither a new place nor a new LGA but I thought we'd grab a couple of bushrangers on route. TFTC
Thanks for the cache! Great late arvo grabbing several of these albany highway ones. .
Today was my trip from Albany back to Perth, marking the beginning of the end of my WA Goes Big 2016 Geocaching trip. A long drive made interesting (but also made much longer) by all of your cache hides.

Out today with xPertCach3r caching our way to Williams and back. The plan was to finish off the Bushrangers and grab anything else close to the highway.
We had a great day with 54 finds and 1 DNF. Most caches were found quite quickly, and the weather was perfect.
Thanks to all the COs for their caches.

Cached my way down to Williams and back this morning to rack up the numbers on some Australian Bushrangers plus a few others. 46 finds and 1 DNF not a bad mornings 'work' I reckon.
A quick find after finding a nice parking spot off the main drag.
Keego_and_Chil I found your cache at 10:47am, this was the 36th of 46 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 2827. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

heading from katanning to perth to catch up with a cacher up there and decided to grab a couple smileys along the way.
Have been meaning to do part of this series for some time now, so today was the day. Had an early start to the day and it was a relatively quiet day for traffic on the highway. Most were easy to locate, a few caused a bit of head scratching and a couple were spoilt by the rubbish left lying around close by to the caches. A bonus today was the most caches found in one day since I commenced caching in 2008.
Geo R is our driver today, Geo T is navigator and cache retrieval artist! The rest of the robroy_co caching crew have decided to stay in the car and watch movies!! Haha! TFTC
Tftc quick pull off and find again by geo granny on this one. It's about to rain so I'm taking cover quickly
