24/6/16 Out caching today with Marina25 to grab the needed caches for a certain monthly challenge. As we have now found the needed caches and we have time to spare, we were able to grab a few more. We looked high and we looked low...but all we could see was a gorilla. Hopefully just a case of cache blindness. TFTH jadhoo
Spent quite a bit of time looking for this one but finally conceded to log it as a DNF, will keep an eye on it to see if it does turn up.
Around and around and around the tree milltitz has his eyes on the prize while stephfannie should have worm her glasses today.
Found at 0935. A quick find. Log was wet to the point that it was risky to sign. TFTC.
I was here with lisylou years ago and had no luck. Back today for an easy find.
Today I decided that I really wanted sushi for lunch. My favourite sushi place is the nearby sushi train so we hopped in the subaru and headed over. To my shock and disbelief they had decided to remain closed today. We decided to go and find food elsewhere but first Captain Terror knew a way to cheer me up.
We pulled up at this cache and after having a laugh at the Gorilla across the road I headed over to GZ. It was a quick find as blue seems to stand out quite a bit in this environment. I signed my name in the dampish logbook and replaced the container as found. Thanks for the cache jadhoo.

Found this one quickly. Was a very quick park and grab at this nice dog park. Log was completely soaked so I added a dry piece of paper as a temporary log sheet
quick find log needs replacing as it is saturated temporary log signed and placed in cache which was restored with some extra padding to hopefully keep it dryer
Last time we were here, we came away empty handed. Tonight we were hoping for more accurate satellite positioning. It was working for me, and I went almost straight to GZ and called hats off. Cache signed and replaced. All good. We tried not to disturb the Gorilla. Found at 9.00pm on 4th September 2015. TFTC.
Out with RoddyC to visit some caches in the area.
We came by here on the way home.
We all searched for this one and Mr RoddyC came up with the prize.
It is dark now and the streets are quiet.
Interesting feature across the road.
May come back in daylight to photograph him.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks jadhoo All good with this cache

Last stop for the day near the end of quite a decent walk. But glad to finally be able to get here at a good time when no one else was around to take a look for the cache. I started in one spot but soon moved to another and sure enough soon had the container in hand. I got my name in the log and all replaced before going to find some lunch.

Before jumping out to look for this cache, we sat by the road looking at which tree we thought it would be in, and which one provided the best places to hide. For ages we searched this one tree, finally moving on to another before geodad jumped out of the car, walked up to the original tree we were looking at and found it straight away. Was an easy find after all, we were just looking too hard!
I'm pretty sure the lady with the dog thinks I'm very strange indeed. Luckily I should not see her again as I'm on the other side of town.
After spending way too long leaning against the wrong tree and pretending to be doing something on my phone, I decided to try another tree and quickly had the cache in hand.
Mmmm. Coordinates are definitely off. And now I smell like stink bug. Yuck.

Took a bit of digging but we found it. Had to allow for a little inaccuracy on the iPhone. Found with the 2 boys. They watched the gorilla to make sure he wasn't looking.
Much to the amusement of the dog walkers, we did not find this cache today. We looked high and low in all trees in the radius and no joy. We resorted to looking in previous logs and were a little concerned about the gorilla across the road, and then I looked. I was expecting the world's biggest dog and yet I find a gorilla. If I had brought my camera with me I would have taken a photo. Priceless.
A great day of caching with Swellerfungus. Our original plan for the day had involved climbing a hill or two but with the weather looking unfavourable we tossed about a few ideas and initially agreed on a trip to the Gold Coast to grab some caches to fulfill various Jasmer, DT and old cache requirements as well as picking up some solved puzzle caches. The morning started at 5am in rainy conditions but by the time we hit the coast the weather had turned lovely and we both wished we'd brought our swimmers. As we picked up a few caches we realised they all seemed to be different DT combinations and our thoughts turned to chasing the 25 unique DT challenge. So totally unplanned and unscripted we started the countdown required, steadily progressing through the grid, slowed up every now and then by the odd DNF. After 14 and a half hours we had completed our 25 different DTs and picked up some great caches along the way.
Another cache Swellerfungus had found but as we were passing by he assured me this would just be a quick drive by and we would be on our way. After the mess I had made on the other Fungus-found cache today, I wasn't so sure. So gritting the teeth I jumped out and commenced the search. I looked in every possible hiding spot indicated by the GPSr and in frustration returned to the car to confirm I was searching in the right vicinity. Turns out I was slightly off so started again in a different spot. I was obviously channelling the spirit of Mr Magoo today as I still failed to find it. Finally I located the cache. I blame the pool of water it was sitting in from the recent rain rather than inept cache blindness. All dry inside though so I signed my name and retreated to the car with my tail between my legs. TFTC.

On the way home from Brissy we made an impromptu ice block stop at the local servo, so I took the opportunity to find some caches. We weaved our way through the back streets and were soon parked along side an empty dog park, thankfully. We affectionately call our daughter monkey and upon exiting the car I noticed a handsome looking devil across the road. Without thinking I said "hey monkey look at the monkey". We all had a bit of a laugh once the girls spotted him. While they enjoyed the last of their ice blocks I headed for GZ. A bit of a search but it couldn't hide from me. I retreated to the nearby rotunda to add a new name to the log.
Thanx again jadhoo

This great little cache was tucked away nicely in its hidey hole just waiting for little geokid to lay eyes on it first, once again! What an asset As others have mentioned, the letterbox across the road is worth a look, the littlies loved it, very unusual. Thank you!
I was heading to a meeting at St Marks Daisy Hill and had time to grab a few caches along the way. It was a rainy Saturday morning which made the GZ clear, but wow, this would need vast amounts of stealth at other times. Look at all the windows!
I left the phone in the car because the targets seemed clear so I worked my way along and soon found a bright little target. All was fine inside... And though it seemed a bit weird to leave it in a wet spot, the container should be able to handle it. TFTC.

Out for a wander while my wife shopped at the big blue and yellow store on the other side of the highway.
I had limited time so the "wander" became more of a jog for a few parts of the trek.... but I did grab two caches and made it back on time.
Is that a large yowie staring at me from across the road?
Thanks for the cache Team Zener. Cheers!
Find number 1972.... so here is something you didn't know (or maybe did know) about 1972...... 1972 (MCMLXXII) was a leap year starting on Saturday (link displays the full calendar) of the Gregorian calendar, the 1972nd year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 972nd year of the 2nd millennium, the 72nd year of the 20th century, and the 3rd year of the 1970s decade. Within the context of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) it was the longest year ever, as two leap seconds were added during this 366-day year, an event which has not since been repeated.

wow went to school just up the road and never knew this park existed. Easy find although co=ords were off. TFTC
A nice quick find here. Monday afternoon meant thankfully there weren't too many dogs exercising nearby today. TFTC. SL.
Tried to find the other night when we were walking the dog, but forgot the torch..went back today and found it....TFTC
TFTC for some reason my coords had me wanting to frisk a different tree. Tried my luck at another and bingo!
Was in the area today looking at some known stores nearby. This was not too far away. Got to the park and there was a muggle with his dogs and I casually walked around the trees. He came up to me and asked if he could help etc. I then explained GC and showed some interest and amazement how many cachers are out there and how many caches could be found! So hechecked out the website etc. He let me continue my search and having some nimble fingers retrieved it. Log signed and returned the cache to its lair with some extra camo to secure it. TFTC
This one proved much easier than anticipated as the park was empty of people. TFTC
After an all day meeting I thought I treated myself to a fe nearby caches, and then this one was pretty close, so i cleaned it up too. The park wss empty, so I searched without worry and wuickly came up with the cache....it helped that it was a little exposed. I signed the log and tucked it back into the hidey hole, making sure it was covered up, and went on my merry. TFTC!
Arriving at GZ the cache was quickly spotted as it was in place but uncovered. Problem was there was a muggle letting his dog have a run in the off-leash area right next to GZ
Time for a bit of role-playing - while I pretended to take serious interest in a nearby tree to distract the muggle my partner quickly made the grab
Fortunately after returning to the car to sign the log the muggle left and we could replace the cache with a little more care and cover so it wouldn't be so noticeable.
TFTC.

Quick find, was a bit worried as it was lying in water, but log book nice and dry! Replaced it out of the water!

Today I was up Strathpine way finding a cache or three.
And particularly, a challenge cache up there.
After that I found a few more up that way. [^]
But now it is time to head home, but not before finding a few more caches. Will I ever get home. [?]
I stopped in for dinner and realised this one was just off to one side. A quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Another run up into the south east Brisbane area with three of the kids, being James, Jemma and Marindah. It was an excited car, the kids were bouncing off each other for most of the day.... We hit the Daisy Hill area and a stack of Thunderbirds caches, even had a picnic lunch in the bush after a nice walk. The day featured 25 finds and 1 DNF, and lots of walking in general. Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining their caches.
This one was submerged, but otherwise no water in cache.... Log dry, signed and put back. TFTC.

Had an appointment just down the road and arrived with sine time to spare.
Walked down here and found the cache pretty quickly.
Sat down in the shade to sign the log.
TFTC all in good nick.

Such a great feeling, 31 days of geocaching down none to go!
After a quick bit for lunch I took the whole family to grab a quick cache in the area.
Interesting sculpture across the road too?!

Having managed to not find this one, I was keen to head out and grab it when I saw it was re-enabled. But good things take time and it was only today I got back to it. I was avoiding traffic and within easy drive of this park again so swung in for another look.
I was glad there was a tap here. After a drink, onto the cache at the new GZ. My GPSr indicated a likely tree, but no cache. Hmm, I looked further afield and spotted the beast. Ah, nicely hidden. I signed my name and recorded the co-ords that worked for me today. Glad to have this one sorted out now. TFTC jadhoo

In the area for work today, so thought I would make a quick detour to see if I could save my darling Penelope. As usual she didn't need any help at all. She is safe and well, though I am glad I got lucky and spied her poking out in a likely spot, otherwise this might have taken a considerable amount of time longer. Thanks for the hide. Goodbye Penelope.....
We were up dropping off a relative and visiting some friends so as we do we took the opportunity to see if there were any caches close by.
Because we visit this area so often we had exhausted possibilities but thanks to Jadhoo there were 2 popped up on the map very close by.
Geo Wife still had a few things to do so she released me to have a bit of fun.
I didn't need anymore prompting they just had to be converted to smilies.
As I approached GZ there were 2 possible targets but I quickly eliminated the first and as quickly found my prize in the second.
Thanks Jadhoo TFTC SL

GPS had us a few metres away. Had to wait a few minutes for a mugglemut, and it owners to move on, and we then had the cache in hand. TFTC.
Out for the afternoon with Gummy Dales, Mastamak, Sar Bear, Fairybum, KidzJCT and Trenton8tor. We had been to netball and now it had finished so now the party was on the hunt for some more caches.
Penelope I cannot believe you would do that to us! I was in Peril so many times at this one, NOT! We had to wait for someone to leave the dog park before we attempted this one. It was not well covered when we found it and tried to cover a little better, but the logbook was in good condition.
This was the 13th find of 24 finds for the day.

Back again tonight while in the area with Nyssaflutterby. Two sets of eyes, brighter torches, but again no cache. All we managed was to cop a spike or two from the bouganvillea and to get a flash photo of the 'feature' across the road. Either I am having a massive cache blindness attack here or something is amiss.
When I was learning to drive, my instructor took me up this odd back road, I wondered why but he was simply showing me the 'feature' across the road. What a hidden gem! Since then a few times I've driven friends past, afterall, only a 1 block detour from the main drag, to have a look at the private primate.
As a result, when this cache popped up I knew it was near said feature and thought it great someone had hidden a cache near it.
This afternoon after work I headed out to tick a box on my calendar and caches close to home are perfect for this, especially in a series that has proved to be enjoyable. About 10 at night and with my underpowered torch in such proximity to houses was to do the heavy lifting. the GPSr was sure of an obvious spot but despite about 15 minutes of looking I found no cache. A block of cement, lots of prickles and much bark but no cache. I started feeling like I was being watched and left this one. Hopefully I'll get it next time.

needed a cache to fill in a gap in the calendar. This was not too far away from where I needed to be today. I took a bit longer to find it than i hoped. Way too close to houses for my comfort. I eventually got the job done, hopefully without attracting too much attention from the neighbours.
I decided to make today the day I logged #900, but not entirely sure which cache that was. It seems likely that it was a Thunderbirds cache
A neat trail, with minimal driving inbetween locations, and could probably have biked it quickly but I was out and about in Sooty the cachemobile today, to meet Nurseyjulie and Charlie the geodog a bit later.
Always that one muggle who turns up at the same time, at GZ! I started to wander about aimlessly which seemed to scare off the lady with the fluffy little orange dog
A quick find, although the location is near someone's back fence, which means stealth cacher mode should be engaged.
TFTC, and the cool series jadhoo! I didn't get time to do them all and suss out the puzzles, so will be back soon!

Out and about with Brother Colin We drove around to this one and I was hoping that we would get it, because I really liked Lady Penelope However, we searched all over, then made a PAF, who confirmed our GZ and the hiding spot. Still no find
Out and about with IolantheK today in this part of the world.
After quite some searching we had our suspicions it might be gone so I phoned a friend and confirmed the hide.
It is gone.

Given IolantheK & Brother Colin's recent Did Not Find, I will head out soon to see if Penelope did meet her peril.
I was thankful for a deserted park when I arrived this morning and moved in for a quick find. Over to the bench for business and I was all done in a minute or so. I dropped the container back and added some paperbark to the top, just to keep it out of sight... Wasn't sure on its safety being in plain sight...
As I was leaving, I noticed I was being watched from across the road... Not to be alarmed, I took a picture of the observer (see attached) and kept moving.... I don't think there will be any more bother...
Cheers jadhoo.

This one couldn't have been easier. I parked the car and then checked out Penelope's Peril at the gate of the house over the road. He certainly looks ferocious.
A couple of steps and I had the cache in hand. Not sure how long it will last without some cover but you never know.

*JOINT FTF* with The Hunting Rabbit, approx 11:37am. We knew culture50 was probably hot on our heels. Ran towards GZ. Panicked when we couldn't quite decide which tree was closest, but after thinking logically noticed a very suitable little spot - and yippee! There it was. TFTC jadhoo
Joint ***FTF*** with Dansync.
Dr Hunting Rabbit was working from home this morning and just before he had to head to a lunch meeting on the Gold Coast -- bing, bing, bing. A whole bunch of new caches appeared. In minutes Dansync and I were out the door.
After getting one FTF and knowing how long these had been out there for we knew others would be in hot pursuit. Whilst this cache was clearly residential it's lucky that no muggles were around. After a quick search the cache was in hand, signed and we were off to the next one.
