OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa This one took a bit longer than it should have but an interesting spot to visit. Tftc
Wow what a great cache kathieb, and such fun to find. Buddy the geodog helped us with this one. Found on September 18, 2024. # 9692
We finally found it! Took a little more searching than we anticipated... started this search 2 months ago, took a break, came back and found it instantly! Although, not where we expected, we still enjoyed the search. We signed the log book, added in some mini Lego pieces for anyone that's down to create something out of nothing a joker card for company, a little corgi cut out named G.O and some other funky trinkets for y'all to happily re-home or re-gift.As locals to this area, we love that there is more we can do around here..and we can't wait for more Geocaches to be placed.
Looked for this one yesterday but didnt have any luck as GPS was all over the place. Came back today and bingo, walked straight to it. Thank you.
Found at 2:09 PM GAFF1.Such a small well, but obviously of immense importance to the aborigines and early settlers.Couldn't see any water in the well - looked to me like it had been filled in!Thanks to kathieb
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine, Edith Falls, Kunnurra, Bungles Bungle, Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now again on the sealed road again. From Derby, Broome on direction to Port Hedland .Not a quick find .TFTC# 17'179

A nice easy find after two other DNFs this morning. The container is cracked and the log book has been wet but is ok now. Thanks for bringing me here.SL TFTC
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia. We spent four nights in the north-west, staying at De Grey River near Port Hedland, Point Samson, Dampier and SW of Karratha to target a selection of caches in the general area. Thanks for the cache kathieb!
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. We camped at DeGrey River last night then continued to make our way south to Port Hedland and beyond, finding a few caches of interest along the way.A quick find here at this interesting spot. Thanks kathieb for the cache.
In Port Headland for the weekend and managed to find some time in the afternoon to collect a few of the caches around town before catching our flight back to Sydney via Perth in the morning. With the cache in hand we signed the log then replaced as found. Thanks for the cache kathieb. The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football
Wasnt to hard to find has some water damage and container is starting to break but was fun with lots of visits
Couple nights in PH. Looking about and grabbing a few caches. Great history. Tftc
Our first cache in Port Hedland. History and cache, a good combination. TFTC katheib.
We're out today on a tour of Port Hedland by geocache. This was a quick find unlike the nearby well. After wandering around for about 15 minutes, we decided to give up and head off. Then we spotted the well... How embarrassing.
Thanks for find #4513

Accidentally found it! I'm here driving buses from Port Haven to the port, had driven past this point of interest several times already. Checked it out then spied a plastic container! How good! It's hidden a bit better now in same spot.
Spending couple days in Port Headland. I would have driven past without a geocache, tftc!
On my way to Perth via Broome with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
A quick stop with a great view of the trains.

Well, that was an interesting use of a local feature for a hide . Only after I logged did I realise there were two logs. I signed the older one. TFTC kathieb.
Cool little historical place that we would've missed if not for this cache!
Was a pretty easy fine we were at the pretty pool one first and struggled but was not what we were expecting younger siblings loved it with the joy of finding it. For first time geocaching we had a lot of fun and loved spending quality time as a family can’t wait for the next ones- from Leeds family
On our 2nd tour of WA now slowly heading north on our way home to Cairns. Did your Well, Well, Well today. 9 March 2022 9:22 am Tyfc kathieb total caches now 4441 .
Cleared out some of the rubbish & oversized swaps so that it would actually close properly. Took the TB to move on. TFTC kathieb
So we sold up, packed up quit our jobs and moved our lives into a caravan to set off on a lap year, very soon into the trip we realised it was going to be much long than a year.
We are 10 months in now and planning to stop and work for six months while we wait out the wet season.
Although I haven’t been working during the past 10 months I’ve found myself busier than expected, looking at rocks, trees and all the sparkly wonderful things we have to see in our beautiful backyard. I tried really hard to keep up with Geocaching logs but I’ve fallen behind again!
I am very sorry for this generic log, it’s the only way I can catch up.
Thanks for being one of the caches we found along the way.

A wonderful piece of Port Hedland history which looks rather unattended, such a shame. We have past here many times over the years we lived in the Pilbara but have never stopped. Thanks for placing a geocache here.
Found this geo on the way to this mornings job. Luckily I was early so I had time to run to Woolies and get a new container for it. No sistema's in stock so I've replaced it with a decor and placed a new log book inside in its own plastic bag. I did leave the mint tin in there with the old log book too. This was another interesting stop that I've driven by before and not even noticed. TFTC
I struggled to get good GPS signal. The area is in the open, it should have been easier. Maybe I expect too much from GPS.
The container is in pretty bad condition. The log book was too wet to sign it. I put the log book in an Eclipse mint tin. I didn't have time to wait for it to dry, sorry. Hopefully the next GeoCacher can do something about it.

Working in Hedland for a while, so couldn’t resist the opportunity to grab this drive-by when i had a spare moment . The container has seen better days having a very broken lid, and if i had known would have replaced the sistema with a new one.

Well, well, well. After being flooded in and stuck in Marble Bar we were finally set free and now for the journey home to Baldivis and plenty of caches as we go. Stopping to grab some fuel before we left we took a quick detour to hunt down your cache. We made a nice quick find once at gz and soon had your log signed and cache returned to its place of hiding. The container could do with replacing, it has seen better days. I love a cache with some history attached. Time to hit the road. TFTC kathieb.
Heading home with axell33 after visiting family in Marble Bar, we have had an extended adventure with our trip going from 6 days to 13 days after being rained in from storms and unable to get out across the rivers. We grabbed this one and enjoyed its little piece in history. The rocks were so hot after baking in the sun! Like the water hole, this cache has a nice longevity too. Such an important spot for so many people and animals! Thanks for the cache and greetings from Baldivis.
Nice hide here. Some maintenance will be needed soon. Container broken and bag ripped. Nice spot though TFTC
DNF - looking around and we found a slithery friend, which killed any desire to keep looking
Thanks for the interesting stop though!
