22 June 2024 3:17pmNumber three for today. We parked where we thought was close by - we later realised there was probably a much better location to get here. From the direction we came, I certainly wouldn't want to be doing this as a night cache!!!Then, when we got close by we started to head in but we're faced with thorns in every possible direction we tried to move - and not just from the one plant! We encountered a cactus, acacia, lantana and some other stuff I've not seen before. We made a cautious retreat to the path and headed further down to find another possible way in. Slightly less thorns this way and not quite as dense so we proceeded and were very happy to be rewarded with a quick find with plenty of swaps available (we didn't bring any so left them for the next person). Thanks for a fun little adventure and a good hide.Favourite point for this one, the adventure and for leading us to the park close by.
With a couple of caches on the radar this afternoon to get me close to completing a challenge cache Im working on I headed west on an overcast day in South East Queensland.I dropped the wife off at QPAC and made my way to the parking spot and quickly arrived at ground zero. I worked my way to the caches location and soon had the log in hand. Signed and dated and returned safely for the next cacher to find. I was soon on my way to the next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found by like minded individauls.Cheers
Actually found it this time!Did not know where to go but followed the path and found my way in! Dumped all of my SWAG in, and moving a TB on. Nice one, thanks for the cache!Coolabah OUT!!!
Out collecting caches in Kenmore today and trying to get some exercise too. I parked at Rafting Ground Park and walked around. It was a pleasant walk despite the midday January heat. Once I got close I realised there was a pretty solid wall around the gz and I could not see an easy way in so I began to push through. Is there any plant here that is not spiky? It took me about 15 minutes to go the last 10m. Once I was through to a clearing, I sat down on a log to check if there was a hint. Haha, I knew straight away where it was after that. Cache signed and rehidden, I looked around for an easier way out and found one, of course. Isn’t that always the way? Back on the path and feeling very happy to have had a bushy bashing adventure on an urban caching day. TFTC!
There was a bit of to-ing & fro-ing to find the best point to enter to avoid the dense vegetation. Eventually got in & made the find. TB dropped. TFTC
After work i decided to pick up a couple of caches to continue my streak of finding 1 cache a day. Today is 101 days in a row. I read some previous logs and the last one mentioned that the paths were mainly concrete so i had my road bike with me only to find that the paths are more suitable to a mountain bike. i ended up walking up some steps and chained me bike up to continue to find this cache. Once at GZ it was a quickish find. Love this walk/ride around here. Thankyou for taking me here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
A pleasant walk on an easy path, much of it concrete. Not what I was expecting. Coordinates spot on to this lovely little spot. Left a tb. Tftc
Walked past about a billion water tanks and got to within 20m of GZ. I was reluctant to leave the path because everything was wet but found a reasonable way in. Thanks for the cache
An honour to find fungus first this arvo.
All is well with the cache.
Thank you for placing this geocache Swellerfungus

We were visiting the park to have a picnic lunch and enjoy an excellent Brisbane Festival 'Street Serenade' performance by the QSO. Afterwards we had a bit of spare time so took the chance to track down a couple of caches there too. This one took a bit of walking but took us to some nice areas of the park - thanks for the cache
According to our trail map there is a public entrance to this park not too far from GZ so we headed there. We spoke to a local bloke in his yard who pointed out the path - right there between the fences. Not obvious at all. Anyway it was all downhill from there but not far to GZ.
Skirted around some thorny bushes no probs and soon had the cache. Love an ammo can.
Took the TB to move along. All is well here.

My chosen point of entry has to be one of the best disguised public paths I’ve every come across...
A nice walk in followed by a lite bush bash... replaced the snap lock bag, left some American coin and Frappuccino CacheShadow Volunteer Tag to carry on...

After a nice walk through a very quiet and peaceful park, I headed up this way to find Fungus's first cache.
I love an ammo tin in the bush, with the log signed I replaced all as found.
Thanks Swellerfungus for the cache, all is well with it.

29/02/2020 Leap Day TC Cache Bonanza- Cache 4 of 4
Out and about today to grab our 2020 Leap Day Souvenir and tick off a few puzzle caches and previous DNF's.
Mr Chappy and Mr. 3 Y/O popped passed this way (tired GeoSon on shoulders by this point) after sadly encountering the detritus of a possibly muggled cache. We hoped from the logs on this one that we'd find something in better shape. And we weren't disappointed!
After a quick squint and a scan, we discovered what we sought. A strong cache in excellent condition. Everything inside was as dry as a bone and we were extra glad to discover some TB's to move on to the Royal Riverside TB Hotel for further adventures. GeoSon spent a lot of time poring over all the loot as Daddy signed and replaced the log.
Thankyou Swellerfungus for this well-maintained cache and being such an asset to this community.

Came by to scatter dead grandpa's ashes.
Cache is all hokey dokey but is developing a geotrail.

We found this one a few weeks ago and must've forgottento log it! I was solving some puzzles around and saw that it wasn't a smiley face :/
A great sized cache and nicely hidden in bushland connecting Kenmore and brookefield. Thanks for the hide!

I looked at the trails maps to see where we should park and and I noticed the dreaded path to nowhere. When ever you see a trail that doesn’t end near a cache you can only guess that one of following scenarios apply:
1. The path actually ends and there is a bush-bash at the end
2. Some council worker ran out of cement
3. The cartographer ran out of ink
4. Someone just started building a path hoping it would lead to the Wizard of Oz
We followed the cement path until it turned into any other bush path. There were some prickly pants to contend with but once the path of least resistance was discovered it was a quick find. tftc

Talk about pouring rain! What some people endure to find a cache. Great cache a bit off the beaten track! Thanks
Once I found where the hint was located I started looking around for possibilities. Then through the brush I spotted a likely hiding spot. Sure enough when I reached the spot, there was the awesome cache I was looking for. Believe it or not, this is the first ammo can I’ve found, so a FP here from us TFTC
Out creating smileys with wombles, 1MinnieMoo, 1GiantPanda and Mrs Slow Puncture.
Watch out for the face eating cicadas around here!

Nice to find a larger cache here. We were almost going to make this one harder then it needed to be, but common sense prevailed.
I'd never been here before, quite an impressive area and these tracks are awesome.

Sunday. New Year's Eve. Hi Simon!
Following the path to get to this cache was Wombles&Co, NyssaFlutterby and 1MinnieMoo. We were on a mission to get some caches in the area which were going to complete 1MinnieMoo’s D/T grid. What a great area!
This was the 1st of 5 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Swellerfungus***, for showing us this place.

Out here today for a major mission with a troublesome crew today, and once mission was complete we had a glance at what other caches were nearby that we could add on to our day, especially as we were ahead of or expected time so still had some daylight left.
So on we marched ignoring the fact the mozzies could've either carried us away or become twice the size after their feast. Then we got to about 30 metres out, stopped and looked. Hmmm it's up there.
Let's just see if this path.... oh good it does. Yes let's take that a little closer to GZ instead, huh? Fancy that, the easy way!
About 15 metres to go I decided to head off track. NyssaFlutterby followed, and soon after 1GiantPanda, but the other two thought they could go a little further first. As I approached I immediately saw the cache - it is quite visible in its home. Nyssa took a seat and then had to fend off a face-eating cicada that flew at her
The others joined and we signed the log before replacing as found.
Thanks for the cache Swellerfungus.

Very clever hiding place and good clue. Hope you do more geocaches. From all of us!
Came by this way on my morning walk to drop off a Deadly Duck. All good at the primal mushroom this morning.
Nice easy find, not sure why hadn't found this one last time we cached in the area. Nice to find such a big cache. TFTC!

Phew! Much more of an adventure than I expected. And I went off the track when my GPS hit 23m away and bush bashed. But the twist and turns of paths had me lost. And WAY too many thorns at around 5m from where GPS said GZ was. In the end the cache was 12m from GZ according to my phone GPS. Argh! Took two of the trackables for my efforts!
Took a short stroll up the hill to drop off the last of my trackables. All fine here.
Wow...what a hike. I made it harder than it needed to be.
My gps was bouncing all over the place, and i soon decided tao go by geo-sense.
That worked, my gps had me 14.7 metres away.
So many thorns everywhere.
Lucky i was wearing suitable attire for this bush bash.
Now is there an easier way out.

We had been to the nearby park many times but never went that far. Thanks for showing me this part SF. The search took longer than it should and I was really about to give up when I spotted something about 10m from where my phone told me it should be. Yep, there it was. TFTC
Nice to get off the beaten track. A little bit of Monday after school caching. Nice spot.
After being muggled out twice on a cache not too far away, I decided that it was time to turn this little green box into a smiley. My phone showed a track that would take me to the cache, but when I arrived at the entrance point it showed, there wasnt one. So I drove a bit further around and found another entrance. As I wandered along, I began to think that I could have found another way, but decided that this walk would do me good. I soon found myself at a familiar spot and then took the unfamiliar route that led towards this cache. It is such a pretty walk through this area. Then my phone told me it was time to bush bash. So, off I went to GZ. There, I searched and searched without luck. I expanded my search, still without luck. I decided to take a seat and read a few logs logs. As I approached my chosen spot to sit, I spotted something worth further investigation. The cache was there! Eighteen metres from where my phone said it should have been. Gotta love caching with my iphone some days. :s I added my name to the log, rehid the cache and then headed back to the car. TFTC
I've been getting the littlest one into some walking. (I've even got him the mini Camelbak which is just too cute). Today's walk was from EiInDemHimmel to Split Rock, so on the way past we checked up on Fungus First and dropped off a travel bug.
All good at Mushroom Prime, we dropped the shark and an orange stamp for the next junior cacher.
Cheers SF!

I wanted an awesome cache for my 1236 milestone so I came here especially. Nah not really....
Oskar didn't sleep long enough at lunch today so we knew he was going to be hard work if we stayed indoors for the rest of the afternoon. We decided to visit this park for a walk and for the playground. Only then did I do a search for caches and found your first. But then we found ourselves on the wrong side of the creek and I gave up on finding it today.
A little while later we found a bridge and were soon on the right path again. I ran ahead and soon found the geo trail and then the cache. A lovely walk and heaps of fun in the playground. A great afternoon. TFTC.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Out and about this afternoon along with catscatscats22 and this one was next up on the list for us We pulled up in the carpark and crossed the bridge before headed off towards GZ. After a quick search of the area, we soon spotted a likely hiding spot and had the cache in hand and added our name to the logbook

Somehow the radar missed this one - haven't been in this area since the time a Hawmorfords cache (decode the flashing light emitting diodes) was reported and confiscated by the constabulary as a suspected bomb. A pity that was.
Anyway, had a delightful amble along the creek. I didn't even know this track was here. Found the cache no trouble, and a REAL cache, too! None of these micro containers here.
No swaps today, forgot to bring them with me. TFTC, Swellerfungus.

I've wandered in this area previously (pre-premium) and thought today would be a good day to grab this cache. With the showers around i didn't really want to venture too far afield.
Initially i overshot the GZ, but after realising i headed in and found the cache without too many issues. Everything all good with this one. No TB as listed in the inventory, though i did see a ladybug eraser in there with a mission but no trackable ID (so left it in place).
After my mission i was completed i decided to do a little more exploring around this area. Maybe it would have been an idea to stay indoors out of the wet, as after i got home i managed to find a tick on the back of my neck.
Thanks for this one Swellerfungus, it's a great location.

Tough Mothers withstood the thorns to get to the container. Parkland areas are well worth a look.
This afternoon we took a walk around this park and found a few caches on the way.
I had been taking a look for another nearby cache that turned into a DNF, when I pinpointed this cache as the next or one I was going for today anyway. I had spotted a potential access from not far away from where I was but figured, maybe it might be a little bit not right, as it really was not marked on the map as such.
Anyway I found an entry point to another nearby cache and there was this really nice path which looked like a good option to approach from. Seems that I made a much better choice here a nice path, with a good amount of shade, made for an enjoyable walk.
I soon found that there was something of an uphill near the end, but that was not to challenging really and soon enough I spotted an area that look like a good spot for a cache. Sure enough there it was sitting there ready to be found. I retrieved the log and added my name before replacing as found and heading back towards the car.

Oh dear... this was a slight comedy of errors today. But I didn't get close enough to the cache to log a DNF, so just a note for today.
Was going past this park and decided that it was a good spot to stop, seeing as there are 4 caches listed here. Hmm... closer look... tricky multi (don't have time for that), one is a series (not the day for that), two left. Ok, I can deal with that. So I trudge off following my compass towards this cache... lovely open path for a while, then lose the track... which way to go? Picked one direction, yep, looks good as per compass needle. Ok, found bush. That's ok, there's a lovely little goat track through here. Maybe not the best way to go in thongs.... but only 100m away, so keep pushing through. Uh oh, it's getting more jungle-y underfoot... hmm.... really really hoping there are no snakes around! And then.... the creek. Oops. Hadn't looked at satellite view before I came here. Although it was a slightly warm day, it wasn't really warm enough for me to consider jumping in that creek.
Alright, plan B. Look at the satellite, that looks like a bridge I can get across. Pick up another cache on the way back to the carpark, so the walk wasn't a complete waste.... Get back, and that "bridge" on the satellite is actually just a big pipe going across the creek. Hmm... does it show how obsessed I am that for one moment I wondered whether I could walk across the pipe??? (Don't worry, I didn't....).
At that point I gave up, and decided that I would have to plan this one better next time... And possibly wear better shoes!

Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga2 at 3:50pm. It was quite a walk in to GZ to find this cache after a full day of caching. The cache is in good condition and well hidden. TFTC
Followed the path and luckily got on the right track. Little orange arrow was pointing everywhere but soon found what I was after. TFTC!
An easy find - finding the right track was the hardest part but the photo from previous logger was a good hint.
After finding a good way to access a nearby cache I was able to proceed along a well formed path and trail to GZ. I hunted in a few spots for no luck and read somelogs which indicated the cache was a short distance away. I was able to then find the cache a short time later. Unfortunately it appears that this cache may have been tampered with. There are no trackables inside despite 4 being listed and a GCA moveable cache that was supposed to be hidden underneath the cache I found sitting out in the open about 5m away from the cache where it appears to have been thrown. I would say it is no longer safe to leave trackables here. Thanks for the cache.
