Our first multi! found rather easily, the cache has been wet though so the log book is a bit damaged but still signable, we've put it back upside down to try and reduce more damage.

#5954 (2 of 5 today)
Haven’t been up this way for a while, so decided to head “Up The (Old) Windsor Road” for some finds today.
Decided to try for two more caches by **ack son of hack** and pick up a few other nearby.
In the end I found both of those caches but came up short on one. Still, got five and was back home well before the rain decided to hit. Good thing too as the last cache was a 2 kilometre round trip - on foot.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
I must admit I’ve avoided this cache for a few reasons. The lesser reason was the difficulty of the waypoint at the published coordinates, the other the tragedy upon tragedy that this cache represents. But this is a memorial cache, and is here to keep memories alive. And as the father of three 20 something sons, this does resonate with me.
And it here meant to be found!
As expected, I had trouble at the first waypoint. In fact I didn’t find it after a 30 minute search. Considered going for a PAF, but decided to go for the nearby Traditional and then see what’s what.
Well, I DNFed the Trad. Grrr.
Having now seen the area I used the info in the listing, my cache senses and another available piece of info to narrow GZ down to three areas. Yeah, right.
So many possibilities in the first area but nothing spotted. The second area seemed even more likely but was also cacheless.
So on to area three and after a few minutes spotted something camo-like. And it was. GOTCHA!
Made the grab and opened it to see I was indeed the first finder in just over 12 months.
Completed signing duties and replaced.
The cache could use a clean up, but it was bone dry inside, and the log was only vaguely damp.
This gets a favourite from me for the find and the remembrance.
Thanks **acko**, and RIP with your beautiful son Aiden.

Made our way to WP1 and found the required information to locate Gz. Parked in the empty car park and then walked over to to Gz. Once near GZ found the cache muggled and left on the ground. Signed the log book and took a guess to where the cache belongs. The gps was jumping around and could not get it to settle. Thank you to those who are looking after this cache.
We may have struggled a bit with WP1 but recently been talking about this cache and had a bit of intel on where to find this information. With the numbers for the next part loaded into our GPS we were off to find GZ. There were lots of muggle vehicles in the carpark and some were walking down to the river to swim, as it is such a hot day. We wandered along to where the co-ordinates took us and the find was quickly made. Log was signed, all was replaced before we headed back to the air conditioned geo vehicle. Thank you to ack son of hack for a cache in memory of a much loved son.
We were heading out to do some caches and were going to start in Windsor, but we were diverted down to the Yarramundi due to roadworks, so we decided whilst here we'd do this multi. The first was a little nasty. Hubby was searching in the spot but failed to see it. As I turned from watching horses galloping towards us I spotted it!! Yeah, onto the next one. This one was found quickly, but we thought if the river floods this ones going to wash away! TFTC and giving us a good start to what turned out to be a lovely day
I was here a couple of years ago, but today I finally made the find...with a little help from a PAF. Thanx for looking after this cache in the absence of its creator.
Out with WaywardWoman this morning. I asked if since we were out this way, sort of, we could have a look. Headed to WP1. Wow that was a hard one. Searched around for ages in and out the trees/bushes. Eventually WW spotted the sneaky little container. With WP2 co-ords in hand we drove in to the car park. My GPS was jumping all over the place. Looked in obvious spots and not so obvious spots. Eventually widened the search and finally I spotted it. Signed log and returned as found TFTC
Had a crack at this finally today, WP1 i found evidence of the original and the replacement Waypoint. However the paper in the tube was badly damaged. Lucky I was able to work some magic and replace the paper. Onto the final location, I believe the cache has gone! Either floated away during the last lot of flooding that occurred or it was cleaned up by a conservation crew as the area has been deweeded.
Found it on a sunny New Years Day while picnicking in the area. After a bit of searching at WP1 and reading previous logs we found the bison tube hidden by ris768 (thanks for that). At GZ we followed the cachers trail and found the goods. TFTC
A day out with MM's Geoauntie and having found a trad in the park we thought we'd have a go at this multi. After a bit of a scramble and search around at WP1, Geosis looked back at some older logs and the conversation went something like:
"What does it mean an insect in a cocoon?"
"This log says something about a black bison tube......."
"Oh, you mean this one?"
We wrote down the GZ coords and headed back to within 50 m of where we had just had lunch! Followed the geotrail into the cache and soon had it signed and replaced.
TFTC ack son of hack.
Having previously tried for this cache a couple of time and not finding WP1 I resorted to a previous finder for details on GZ. He was more than happy to share the coordinates making this more like a traditional for me by skipping WP1.
Anyway a fine day in the holiday period I expected the area to be busy and wasn't disappointed. On the way to GZ I walked around a large family gathering using a number of Gazebo's. 30 mtrs behind them I made my way off the mown area getting cover from a little bit of bush.
GZ was intact and the log book was dry. After signing the log replace to it's hidey hole. tftc
I noticed a signature in the book post the last finder which suggests a muggle may have found it but left in place after signing the log book.

Was in North Richmond with JJCC today, so we returned for another look for Aidan Our beautiful son. On our previous visit we couldn't find WP1 so our efforts were thwarted. In the meantime, gathering some additional information we contacted a previous finder and were lucky enough to be given the coordinates for GZ, this effectively being able to bypass WP1.
Before proceeding to GZ we stopped at WP1 for another check to verify and again were unsuccessful. Searching all along the fence line and within the trees, no WP1 container was found. Undefeated on this visit, we drove the car down to the parking area and walked the rest of the way towards GZ. Initially our GPSr was heading in one direction, but then swung around and we headed into the thicker growth. The wandering dew has really taken hold of the undergrowth in this area, but we soon noticed a fallen object sticking out and surmised this as a potential hide position. Getting down on hands and knees proved the correct approach as the cache was sneakily positioned off the ground and we soon had the cache in hand.
There are several swaps in the cache but we took nothing and left nothing. We both signed the log and replaced as found before taking a quick leisurely stroll back to the car.
Both cache container and log are in good condition. TFTC ack son of hack

Out today in North Richmond with Team Merlin, to complete the cache Aidan Our beautiful son.
With aid of a PAF we were able to obtain the coordinates of the cache as were had trouble finding WP1.
At WP1 we again checked for the required information for the final coordinates. With no luck we continued on with the details we were given. Parking close to the coordinates given we set off on foot to the towards the GZ. We spied a likely hide location amongst the under growth and we soon had the cache in hand. We signed the log and returned as found. Log and cache container in good condition.

Great day out for caching - enjoyed the travelling in Richmond area. I will bring my grandsons to the little beach one day Thanks for the caches around here.
As these were some simple park & grabs and some simple stroll in good track & grabs, I'm just going to copy & paste the same log text

Wow very sad about your son Aidan. Loved this area so peaceful and lovely beach area... Signed the log with sevabo. Thanks ack son of hack.
I had a difficult time at wpt1 until the penny finally dropped, then it was off to a long search at GZ. Man I made that hard!
Found the cache scattered in the trad. Put it back together and replaced where I think it might go. Nice way for a memorial. Tftc tnln

Having heard of the CO's passing I decided I wanted to find one of his caches and this one had long been on my to do list. I struggled at GZ and ended up phoning 2 PAFs. While still on the phone with the 2nd PAF Bisygisy shows up to find a munzee. Fortunately he had found this cache previously and confirmed that WP1 was indeed missing. He had the coords and I had a spare bison tube so we did some maintenance and replaced WP1. We then headed to GZ which had really grown over and again Bisygisy came to the rescue to help me with the location. SL #1442 on streak day #695 TFTC. So sorry that you lost your beautiful son and that life was just not the same for you. I hope you have now have peace and are reunited with Aiden. RIP Colin. My condolences to your wife, children and grandchildren.
Made a (Write Note) comment awhile back as I was in the area, Thank you for maintaining it.
Pulled over Infront of the entry gate, how rural meets an oasis, so green inside the park. Walked along neighbouring fence line and spotted container for WP1 coords straight away.
Drove to GZ, under enclosed tree line canopy down towards the carpark, you do notice the temperature drop.
GZ- Struggled to locate it after the recent rains. Mother Nature claiming back what belong to nature. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us.

Being in the area for a scout course I looked at clearing out the area when I saw this. A fitting memorial to your son and a way for others to appreciate the area. TFTC
After completing Rivers End we noticed this cache was quite close. I remember when this cache was originally placed last year. So it was time to reflect again. May your son rest in peace. TFTC.
The team's first multi-cache. We were about ready to give up on WP1 when we spotted it. Enjoyed the adventure TFTC.
What a great cache and tribute to an obviously much loved son.
I'm glad to have been able to make a find here today on a great summers day. A short stroll past the hordes of people here today had me a GZ and a peaceful find a soon made. Dropped 2 TBs
Thanks Acko

We've been keeping an eye on this one, first waiting for it to be reactivated, then for some free time to find it. It was so nice out here today, sunny with a beautiful cool breeze. That probably explains why it was so busy. We had to freeze a few times at WP1 as people drove in and out, not wanting to draw attention to ourselves. But then, we probably looked funny to anyone who DID notice the two strange ladies playing statues in the scrub. Perhaps they thought we'd wandered off from the nearby hospital?
At any rate, the cache was located after a bit of searching, log signed, and a travel bug picked up. Thank you for sharing Aidan's story with us, and thank you for the cache. RIP Aidan.

I was so sorry to read about the loss of your son. He sounds like a wonderful young man, and I'm glad that you thought of placing this memorial cache for him and have shared so many memories of your times with him.
This was our first cache of the morning, and we had the place to ourselves as we found the waypoint & the cache.
I picked up the jeep TB, have spent lots of time driving around in one just like that (except ours was blue!).

Ack, so sorry to hear about the recent loss of one of your sons, never an easy thing to go through.
Loved WP1 and WP2 was safe and sound.
WOW, the river and area here looks like somebody nuked the area, amazing what a flood or two can do to change the landscape.
Maybe you can find the time to come up to the Bluies event next month!
Cheers

#1862- The day this cache was published, I sat reading the notes with tears streaming down my face. I'm told that I'm a very emotional person and I know this to be true, but I can think of nothing worse than what you have been through. Certainly, our two boys are such a light in my life that I hope I never survive either of them. Despite knowing what happened from a note on another of your caches, this was so tragic and a parents worst nightmare.
I had intended to go out there earlier than this, but with the flooding and work commitments, it wasn't to be. So today the family went out there after school, getting off early enough to fit this in before dark. Like you and Aidan,NickoHeap and Garks, our two wonderful boys came caching today too. I've been feeling very 'cache deficient', so the upcoming holidays will be a chance to rectify this situation. Thank you for a simple multi in memory of Aidan and our comiserations. My thoughts are with you all. Take care.

At first we missed WP1, but then I spotted it. GZ was an easy find. Sorry for your loss.
I had a rare day to myself today and I knew this cache was somewhere at Yarramundi, so I just drove down. I parked and then realised it was in Navua Reserve, so I drove the extra 12 kilometres to save my shoes from getting wet crossing the river.
I found the waypoint easily and then drove into the reserve for an easy find. I noticed that a memorial has been set up near the corner of the fence in the car park, so I wandered over to it before leaving, thinking that it might have something to do with this cache. It doesn't. It's for someone's mother.
I've got two great sons of my own. I can't imagine what the CO has gone through. Best wishes, and thanks.

A very moving cache, and we're sorry to hear such tragic news. We were out and about in the area today looking for spots to try our luck at fishing and we'd heard that where the Hawkesbury/Nepean & Grose Rivers meet is a top spot. This reserve looked like the best place to try from but we decided against it due to the debris from the flood damage. It was nice to find this cache here instead though. Great camo at WP1 & it took a while to spot it.
The last time we were here was a few years ago for lunch & a bit of caching with the Webguys, Spindoctors & Usat31 (but on the other side of the Grose river). It was much, much warmer that day!
Thanks,
The Hancock Clan

Very sorry to hear the news of your sons’ passing. Yes the North Richmond beach is a wonderful spot to bring the family, my daughter, son-in-law and their children often come here to play.
Thank you for sharing your family with the broader caching family.
Took the TB and will pass it on soon, left a couple of pathtags.
