I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
The bench that had the previous information has been replaced, so we will need some time to redo the multi
The area is fenced off and I didn't see anything that might have the required information on it.
I popped down here a few years ago and got the information for the final, but didn't have time to work out the Co-ords and find the final. Today I headed down to get the information again and I am pretty sure I remember some of the information being on an old bench (I could be wrong it was 3 years ago) today I could not find that bench. The whole area has been refurbished and most things here are new.
Quiet a interesting multi - you have to hunt around for the data.

Once again teamed up with McCuthen Cache Clan for an excursion into the "Land of the Northern Jafa" to see what we could drum up in the way of cache finds. Our more recent attempts to locate caches have been excellent but usually before the first hour was out we were wet to the skin (and remained that way for the remainder of the day. Today we were hoping for better weather, and apart from one heavy shower managed to acheive our goal.
Setting off from Mr McC's at 4am we were working to be home at a reasonable hour (according to our respective wives), and we even managed this, along with locating 62 caches for the day, so all in a success for two southerners. Signed as "MCD" or variation there of.
I will apologise now for the "copy and paste" logs but yes we did have a great day out and enjoyed ourselves and a big thank you to all the cache owners that put in the effort to keep the game (obsession) going for the rest of us.
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

Out on a late night cache run, starting with an event and ending with an event. We signrd the log as HOAC. Thanks for placing this cache and making our night enjoyable
We did the nearby trad and then decided to have a go at the multi since multis are the focus of this week's promotion for souvenirs. It was fascinating to come down here and see that this little area was built by one man and his singular vision. Hard to relate to, but amazing really.
We wandered around and worked out what we needed to do to get the coordinates, but shot ourselves in the foot by first misreading a date, then by manually calculating the equation (we later saw sense and used an online calculator) and then I didn't help myself by not being able to spell. Sigh. In the end on the fourth or fifth go we finally got a tick on the geochecker and off we went, right back to where we had just left.
Got to GZ, and once we waited for the muggles to clear out I could duck in to where I thought the cache was, and sure enough I was right. The container was taking on a bit of water so I drained that out and signed the log. All good here, thanks for the cache.

Pretty quick to find all the information and a nice way to explore not only Frank's Beach but more of the surrounds too, was quite muddy under foot today at both the information sites and gz, however the cache was in good condition and all is well here, thank you
I'd visited the beach back in April and collected the info at the time while hunting some caches out that way. After a nudge from the CO (I was 1 number out on the south coord despite a couple of attempts at geocheck, doh...), this was solved and left for another day. However today after a FTF not far back up the road, I decided to have another go at the final for this neat little multi. My previous attempt at the final during a weekend was a complete failure mostly due to muggles, dogs, council workers and rain....
However with a better idea now of where it probably wasn't hidden, I expanded my search and went a bit off grid before quickly spotting something from a better angle. Had to reach in quite far, and eventually felt the cache. Quickly logged before clambering back out the way I came. Thanks for the fun tour of the beach and a cool multi.

Wow, Frank's story is amazing, what an incredible man he was and the people of Beachhaven are very lucky to benefit from his vision. We had no problems figuring out E co-ords but S were a little harder to find, then calculate. We eventually got the green tick after a couple of wrong entries then it was off to GZ, a place we had passed by a few hours before! We were initially drawn to a hint item but came up empty handed, then looked around a little more and Aiden29 spied another spot and sure enough, that was where the cache was. Thanks for the history lesson and cache
Gosh, such interesting history about Frank and the area. We had a little trouble with the south coords, trying to get geochecker to work. A little recalculation and we got the tick. Oh dear, GZ was back where we had come from earlier. We were initially stumped by the obvious hint item, but after coming up empty handed we expanded our search area. I spotted the slightly less obvious and obscured item where the cache was well hidden. Thank you for this lovely little multi and bringing us to this beach that I had no idea existed.
Out caching in the area with Merlot58 and Aiden29. We had never visited this lovely secluded beach before. As we read up on the history of Frank and his family, we realised that we remembered the event of Adrian's drowning off the Manukau bar as one of us had a close association with his mate who also drowned. At exactly the same time we were doing this cache, an identical event was playing out on the Kaipara bar where unfortunately the Francie went down with the loss of 8 lives.
My little girl and I gathered the information for this one a few weeks ago when we visited Frank's Beach.
I decided to drop by to complete the formalities on my way home from work this evening. It was a bit more tricky than I expected - starting to get dark when I arrived, I looked far and wide in all the wrong places as darkness fell. Giving up and on my way back to the car, I spotted one more match for the clue... and there it was!

What an amazing story! Well worth a cache! We collected all Informations and than had a little walk to the final. Thanks for showing this interesting place ans greetings from austria!
Oleeee a Multi today!! Such a nice story and a beautiful spot! Thanks for showing! Greetings from Austria
Found the info some time ago and managed to collect the cache on a visit today. Tftc
Wow , this is such an amazing story of one man's amazing determination !
Thank you so much for telling us this history and bringing us here today KirsTim !
Was in area trying to finish some Beachhaven Caches so added this to the list !

In an attempt to clean up a bit more the shore's caches Mr P thought it was time to complete the find on this multi - and there it was... lovely. T4tc
Our 3rd time at trying to complete this multi with earlier attempts being thwarted by rain and a large number of muggles enjoying themselves at the beach. We have been down the end of this road to the boat ramp before but never into this reserve until we discovered Geocaching. Lovely spot and great to learn the history behind its creation. Final location a little surprise as Kiwi had been eyeing up this area for a new hide. Gets a favorite point from us.
I had a few minutes after the opening of the new Beach Haven Gardens civic space, so thought I'd have another look for this elusive cache. CO had confirmed I was near the right spot but it took a while checking all of the stumps in the vicinity. I startled a woman and her two dogs as I emerged from the scrub after scrambling back up a slope. She laughed and I said that I was "looking for something". Luckily she didn't quiz me. Then I spotted a large stump that I hadn't noticed last time I was here, and there was the cache! Still in good condition.
Grabbed the info I needed when I was at Larkings Landing yesterday with the family and today visited GZ for the cache. However, couldn't find it. Pretty sure we were in the right place. Could CO please check that it is still there, as it has been several months since it was last found. Thanks!
Out for the day with Vamber collecting a few caches on the Shore.
After an initial calculation error, we soon got the green tick.

Out and about with KiwifruitsNZ in the Shore, gathering some cache finds for the day.
Once we gathered all the information we needed, and got our calculations correct, we soon made the quick drive to grab the cache. After initially scouting the wrong hint item, we figured out where we needed to be, and the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the nice multi, and sharing Frank's Beach with us!

Out and about after work this afternoon making use of the fine albeit cold weather today for some cache detection. After collecting a DNF here previously, while the final was MIA, I was keen to revisit and complete the formalities on this one. The COs had sent through the updated coordinates so it was straight to the final today. Caches are much easier to find when the are actually in place! Cheers for the cache placement and the maintenance efforts!
Cache had gone missing, so now replaced. If you had a DNF after it was last found, you can message for the new coords.
After finding the nearby trad I thought I would find the final of this multi after already collecting the requisite information. I was confident in my east cords but my south were a good approx. After a good half an hour of searching I was soaked from the vegetation and unable to locate the final. Back at home I worked out the south coordinates exactly and checked things in the checker and got the green tick. Not very different from my rough calculations. Maybe the CO could check on this one? I suspect it has been over a year since the last find...
Hunted around for a while, found the other cache nearby, but no luck here. Definitely been a while since the last find - is it still here?
Interesting history.
No luck at the final.
Maybe the CO can check it out.

Very interesting to read about the local history here. A wander around the beach that Frank built soon gave us the necessary information, and we headed off to the final. We found several examples of the hint item at GZ, but it took quite a bit of searching to pin down the cache. We were relieved to finally have it in our hands just before dark. Thanks for a fun multi. A favourite for the history and the location.
Several months ago I was teaching my daughter brownie pack about geocaching, down at Frank's beach. While setting up the temporary caches for them to find, I had sort out the necessary info.
Have had plenty of caches around work in Albany to keep me going for awhile, but thought I do one closer to home today.
Great to finally get this one found and changed to a smiley. TFTC

A good bit of history/local knowledge, easy to find clues and a good location for the final. Just how I like my multis!! Thanks very much, going to give this one a favourite for the above reasons. Cheers
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We were doing a bit of caching on the other side of the harbour today. We had heard the story of Frank's beach earlier in the year when we took a boat trip up to Riverhead, so it was nice to finally visit it. After finding the nearby trad, we then focussed on the multi and soon worked out the co-ordinates for the final. We then drove to the final and the cache was found after a short search of the area. Thanks for the multi!

Decided to give my co-ords ago after having a look on google maps. Had a good look around then spied something like the clue, then was nearly going to give up when I decided to look in one more spot, and no one more surprised than me when I found it. YAY!! Thanks for the history, I remember Frank pottering around the beach, when I was a child. He's left a great legacy there. SL. TFTC.
Nice to visit an area from my childhood again. Can't say I've got anywhere near the final as my co-ords meant I needed to drive to another location and didn't have the car gps or the means to check whether my co-ords were right before trying to locate the GZ. Will email owner with the co-ords I got to see if they are right before proceeding any further.
11673… Remember finding a cache that Navi built… not far from required information to solve the multi. Nice spots for both waypoints, Thanks for the multi and cache.
Great little history tour. Found it and dropped a TB. Next to find should come with camera.
Nice beach in Beach Haven with a real New Zealand story . Thanks for sharing this knowledge, TFTC
After the initial calculation led me to a car park I realized that I needed to re-check my numbers, and sure enough I had made a silly error. (maths was never my strong point) So today, after work with daylight failing, I made the find. Thanks KirsTim, the little beach is a great spot.
Re-worked ny numbers and found my silly mistake, I'd subtracted an extra month, but still arrived at my new GZ which was a spot I had searched last attempt. With confidence in the numbers looked a little harder this time and soon spotted the cache.

I had to take the Minister of Home Affairs to her accountant this afternoon and decided to pick up a few of the local caches while waiting.
After a bit of a search to collect all the information and admiring the feat of Frank and his dinghy it was for the final.
Thanks for the cache.
Well done on your first cache hide. Look forward to more!
A nice beach during summer and even better because of the history behind it as well documented on the cache page. A bit of a puzzle and multi wrapped in 1.
SL took nothing left nothing (no sign of TB) TFTC

Found all the info rather quickly, and was sitting down working out the final coordinates when a boy fell out of a tree a short distance away. Plenty of help quickly on hand including his family, ambulance called, so off to the final. Arrived at my GZ and spotted a clue, always a good sign, but could see no cache, although there was a munzee. Not overly confident of my S coordinate i walked the line of my east coordinate and found a couple more of the clue, but still no cache. I'll re crunch my numbers and see if I made a silly mistake.
We have visited this beach in the past (relating to another cache, but can't say anymore here) and never noticed the seats before. Sat and gathered the info while also watching a local rowing out to his boat. Information soon obtained and off to the final location for a nicely placed cache. Thanks
It was one of those days when we got to the end of it and realised a geocache needed finding. So we went out for a wee trip to the beach in the crisp cool night air. Got the east co-ordinates easily enough. Then went for a wander to the end of the beach. Plenty of picnic tables and BBQs - must be a popular place in summer. On our way back met up with FunkyMunkyZone and Slieschke for a three-way first-to-find. They too didn't spot the S co-ordinates, but a recheck soon had it for us all. So off to the final. A bit of hunting required there, but Mr Jacksonz eventually uncovered it. Huzzah. Very clever calculation for the final S coordinates, Thanks for an interesting adventure.

I met up with sleischke at one of the new Greenhithe caches tonight, so we decided to head on down to have a go at this one. We were momentarily perplexed when we got to the first waypoint, but it was not long before we were figuring it out. In the dark, AAA took the longest for us and by the time we got that one, we had run into Jacksonz, who were already in the area before we got there. All of a sudden the info for AAA jumped out at us (and once we had later found the cache, we were all impressed by how you got that to work out!) Once we had the coords figured, we headed off together for the final where we all joined in for a group search. Mr Jacksonz eventually put his hand on it, where I'm sure I couple of us had poorly checked already! Never to mind, we got there for a joint FTF. FTF #1371 TFTC!!!
Joint FTF with Jacksonz and funkymunkyzone!
Funkymunkyzone and I met at another published cache and decided to knock this one off together. He followed me and my mobile phone driving directions sent us in an unnecessary loop where a U-turn would have sufficed making the trip longer than necessary.
Found BB and C easily enough and then AAA after some closer inspection of information in the area. Calculated AAA with the help of an online tool although Mr Jacksonz managed to make a pretty good guess!
Headed off to GZ and spent a bit searching before Mr Jacksonz managed to uncover the goods.
A great fun hide for your first cache!
Thanks for my first FTF multicache!

Wow. Pleased to see our Professor Paul's Travel Bug is still safe and sound in New Zealand, all the way from South Africa, and in a "sort of shipwreck cache"! Even more remarkable that the real living Professor Paul lives some few hundred metres away in Beachhaven Road... The coincidence is just astounding - what are the chances?
Thanks for placing the cache, and congrats on your first
