Logs
Found while out doing some cache maintenance with South-West.
Lovely chimney- even better view of Lake Colac and local livestock.
Quick find, although log is soaked and bag is torn. Managed to scratch our names on the log an replaced as found. Tried to fold the bag to avoid water getting in through the holes. TFTC

There was water in cache, like enough that I could pour it out. The water was in the bag and the log was drenched. There's a big slit in the bag about the length of the log book.
I did manage to get our name in, albeit faintly.

A day off work today meant a road trip from Ballarat with master 4 to collect some caches in and around Colac. A quick find he by the geokid and we were soon on our way again. Many thanks
With the afternoon free I set out to grab a few Earth Caches and trads around Colac. I thought this would be a quick find but had to look like I was taking photos because of the steady stream of cars making their way along the, what I thought was a quiet road. Once the opportunity arose I made a quick find. Signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the Cache H_3

I was now well on my home from Warrnambool but I had to make a slight detour to collect a couple more in Colac to end the day of caching.
Is indeed we do know now what you are, not a bad looking structure either.
At GZ there wasnt many places it could be but the grass was very long, so once I was there I was able to make a quick find.
Thanks to Krankitkiwi for placing this cache and to H_3 for keeping this one going.

Needing some photos of Lake Corangamite for my blog, I decided to head up the highway today to snap some pics in between showers and to grab some caches along the way. This was my first stop for the day. I love these relics of the 19th century and have spent quite a bit of time researching some of them (although not this one).
Managed to make a quick find with a few vehicles coming and going opposite.
Thanks H_3 for keeping this one going !

An easy find though the muggle across the road seemed very interested in what we were doing
What better way to spend the day with geoDog out caching in the 4WD. Perfect weather to have a good go at caking not just the 4WD in mud but the dog too.
Fantastic cache spots by the way, Ive enjoyed collecting smileys for a change. And what better way to anoy the caching owner than to put the same description on every cache... Thanks to H_3

5th find for today on the 3rd day of our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide via the great ocean road. We will of spent 9 days travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide with many of those days being in the vicinity of the great ocean road using earth caches to guide us through this geological wonderland.
Today we are doing the harvest trail and heading up to Colac to see the salt pans. One of which murdered my ankle as I tempted to climb down the basalt rocks onto the dry pan. Owwww... was limping for 2 days but fought through the pain to obtain more caches and my first FTF.
Log book wet due to lid not having seal. I have turned cache container upside down to stop rain from finding its way in and pooling at bottomofcontainer

Today was a road trip day to the west of Victoria and back to grab some caches for an LGA Challenge cache I am slowly working on. Headed out from home at 5:30 am so it was pretty chilly early on but after that it was great. I was also grabbing a few puzzles for a puzzle challenge I am also working on.
This was a nice easy find on a deserted good friday but the log is so wet and being kept so by the plastic back that my pen only made a dent in the mush instead of writing.
Thanks krankitkiwi for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

How do you fill in a long weekend[?]
Head to Geelong with Mogni and Brisal5 for an event and a few days caching!
All up, I found 141 caches , attended 1 event and had 6 DNFs
We did a few series and enjoyed them, we met Bushfire and enjoyed learning about his considerable knowledge of Geelong's caches and we met Team Autumn and several other interstate teams while having a blast during the Geelong-Opoly 2015 event! [^]
All in all, a fantastic weekend.
It was dark, it was wet and I saw a pole holding up power wires, then I turned on my torch and saw something very large
Oh and a smaller cache!

Heading to Geelong with Locus Cache and Mogni for an event on Saturday. Just had to stop and do some caches along the way. At this time of night by torchlight and surrounded by long wet grass and in a slight drizzle...knowing what you are, was secondary to just how wet my pants were getting and how far from Geelong we still were! My answer off course is a cache, with my name in it. Now get me to Geelong so I can get out of my wet pants! Thanks krakitkiwi...me thinks I would have enjoyed this more during the day!
A quick stop on our way past.... Sent Brisal5 out to make the grab.... and get his pants wet....
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks for this one, nice quick find with Geodad this afternoon. Big chimney. Thanks krankitkiwi.

As I was only 75 smilies from 2000, and 2 days left of the Year, I decided to hit the "This way to the Otways" trail, the Tiger Line trail and a few others that looked like quick grabs to get the big numbers before the new year.
A 14hour solo round trip with only me, ute, GPSr and a selection of music to keep my sanity.
I left home just before 7.30am and got back home almost at 9.30pm and had travelled 628ks
Now I was heading home I realised it was in the zone of a possible 100 finds for the day (only being 10 off that was)
So a quick check of the GPSr and I had selected a number of caches for my trip home.

I spent the day traveling the western part of the state finding caches to help complete a challenge and this was one of them. I haven't been through Colac for a long time and really enjoyed cruising about finding some caches here. A quick park and sign. Thanks krankitkiwi.
Found the cache as well as the pen we dropped here (the latter took longer).
This is indeed a beautiful chimney. Thank for the info!

Easy drive by. Thanks for the info on the chimney. The log was wet & difficult to write on. On placed it with lid to the bottom to reduce it getting wetter, but needs attention from the CO. TFTC krankitkiwi.

Reading previous comments referring to local business, went in search of this cache this evening. Easy find but cache and log book very wet. Could not turn pages of log, signed and replaced.
A nice drive by but I felt a bit self conscious in the long grass opposite the business. Thanks to krankitkiwi for the chase.
We also wondered what the chimney was for and it was only when logging the cache and reading the description that we found out. Wouldn't want to own the eyesore next to it. Imagine what it would cost to tear that down with all the cement sheet and possible asbestos in it.
Couldn't quite cover our search from the muggle across the road standing at the door of his business, due to the dip in the road verge but I guess he has got used to people pulling up in this strange location.
Thanks, a quick find.

Thanks, a quick find.
Replaced log, please open wee bag carefully so it doesn't break so it keeps the water out. Happy hunting
This road was a lot busier than I anticipated this morning. Once I got a break in the traffic, I crossed the road to make the find. I was watched by a few cows, but I know they won't tell any tales. TFTC krankitkiwi.
It was well hidden from view but a bit of poking around and there it was. Log book was damp. Thanks for bringing us here.
A quick park next to GZ and quick retrieval and a quick pic with the locals in the paddock. Log a little damp but still useable.
Thanks Krankitkiwi for the cache

Found this cache today on a major caching adventure to find 50 caches in 1 day that were all at least 1km apart from each other to meet the requirements for a NZ challenge cache that I am doing presently. This was one of the caches that I found and that helped me successfully reach that goal. Thanks a lot to dbelco, krankitkiwi and na'wal and all other cache owners for hiding the caches that helped me reach this goal. This one was the first cache of the day and it was a great one to start off with once I found the road I needed to be on. Signed log today but didn't swap anything.
Thanks for the cache krankitkiwi.

This was our 1st cache find in a caching run of 16 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
[Blue]
The sun was shining today, and it was definitely too good to waste doing some tasks around the caravan, so we spent a very pleasurable day 'caching with Phetlern.
The guy working over the road was interested in us for a moment - then his phone rang.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent. (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape, but covered in bird poo.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks krankitkiwi for the hunt today.

Cache still there but log book a little damp. Number 2 for me and junior
Getting the hang of this now and will log it as found (as we did find it and sign log) Won't clutter the log with another entry on what is a fairly easy find.
Will be a little more cautious with maintenance reports in future.

I flew into Melbourne, rented a vehicle and am driving to Oz Mega in Murray Bridge. Of course I am trying to find some caches along the way.
This is my fourth find in Australia. Thanks for the cache. This cache is my find number four (4) for the day, and find number nineteen thousand three hundred eighty five (19385) overall.
May all your days bring you more smiles than frowns . May your year 2014 be better than your year 2013 was.

Found at 5.43pm enroute to home after diverting to here from Forrest where we had finished the "Road to Otways" series. We came back this way when all these new caches were popping up. Bogonghay was quick to call the magic words on this one. Thanks for another of your hides today.

Suscoe was requiring a find today for our 366 grid project and so a trip to Colac was the order of the day.
An early breakie, a spot of chrissie shopping and then on the road out here.
All quiet as the local business owner opened up the gate and so a short wait before pouncing on this cache.
Log signed and returned.
This was number one of nine finds for the morning.
We are seeing more and more closed and run down businesses as we travel around the state. It is sort of sad really to think there was lots more employment back in the day.
Thanks to krankitkiwi for showing us this spot.

Nice easy find and nice quiet this time of night low traffic . Good to finally know what this place is . Thanks .
Great story and I concur with earlier logs. Thanks for the hide krankitkiwi. A fleeting visit to Colac tonight and a cache to fill my calendar.
This will be the last hunt today and I have achieved a couple of milestones this week by completing my 366 day caching challenge and passing 3000 finds today. It has taken me nine years to finally get to this figure and now look forward to the next 1000 but time may prevent this happening but I will try. I truly love caching, hiding and helping others where I can.
I have just read the logs on this cache and wish I had read them before as I carry a number of tools that may have retrieved this guy, so next time that I am in the area I will give it a try.
A big thanks to krankitkiwi for placing six of my finds today and you now are in my top twenty hiders with 24 hides, well done.

Third time lucky! A quick find now thank you. The log was a bit damp so I replaced the container with the lid facing down to see if that makes a difference. TFTC
PS I think that this factory was used as a flax mill during WW2 amongst its many incarnations. They tried to make it into an artists studio in the early 1980's (after being empty for a while) but that didn't last long. The Murnanes then set it up as a timber mill until the logging licenses in the Otways were closed down a few years ago.

Travelling up from the Great Ocean Road through Colac to home, picking off a few on the way.
A windy and showery day's travelling with Bettyboo3747.
Second time here! I saw it had been replaced so I thought we should nip out here and grab it.
It is a great chimney.
Thanks, Robmc.
