A quick find here after chatting to one of the locals out for a walk. All good with the cache TFTC
I'll be heading back in July after 8 years. But coming back as England is full of Kiwis and Ozzie's.
Well done Earnie and very fitting there was a bird chirping away as I signed the log favorite for the whole experience
You had us at the title of the cache. A lonely cache as we are the first to find since the cache was checked and replaced in Feb 2021 - 8 months. Great container, quickly found. A favourite point.
Day 2 of StreetWalkerNZ and my long weekend in and around Oamaru. After a long day, polishing off the remaining Mighty Oaks, plus biking some more of the A2O trail, we decided to find a few more caches in Oamaru before dark.
A bit of a dusty spot to search, but SW soon found the cache. TFTC.

After dropping daughter of for the first day of term 3 at school thought I’d get a couple of caches this morning for the mystery at the museum challenge. Had a few come over and check out what I was doing. TFTC
I brought my bike down with me on the trip to Omamaru to do some of the bike trails and today I did lots of them parking the car and then biking back and forward so made a big day but very enjoyable saw lots of neat stuff too.
The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

The rain eased off in the early evening, and we decided to head out to collect a last few Oamaru caches before we return home to Tauranga tomorrow.
We would like to extend a huge THANKS to all the cache owners for providing so many good quality caches for us to hunt for ... we have had a wonderful time here, and the scenery in this area is AWESOME!

The Geofest was such a fun weekend but it was over too soon. Jess.daphne and I went on the caching trail for our final day and this was one of our finds. We signed the log as Jeje. Thanks so much for placing this cache!
Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

Found whilst here for the geofest race with flipnz and RowenaD, thanks for all the geocaches everyone.
thanks for the placement, we have been loved travelling and visiting the roads of oamaru and the many caches each CO has taken the time to place, thank you for taking the time to place and maintain them.
There sure will be and I'm going there in around 18 months so I could send you a postcard from the mother land. Cherrs
3rd of our 6 Day Adventure to and around Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0).
After dropping off our results for 'the Race' and rubbish for the CITO we had a few hours to kill before the Quiz tonight so decided to venture out a little further to help boost our numbers for the day. A nice quick find here and all nice and dry. A nice tribute to a fellow cacher. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies

Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
Nice spot.
Cache 26 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache erninz.

A long days caching (Mad Mission?) with TheWanglers and 8ManAfter..revelin a bit of the Geofest Event in Oamaru. We signed our logs 'T8T' cos were dynamite...and 'in a hurry'...LOL! Picked up by TW & 8man at 6am...and we had our bikes loaded for a bit of A2O action during the day. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We stopped by the event first and then we stopped to town to grab some breakfast and a packed lunch and then headed out to hit some trails. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Grabbed some tea in town then headed for home. Got home just on 12am knocking out 620km and just over 100 cache finds for each of us. A great day with great company!
After biking the nearby part of the cycle trail we loaded the bikes back up and ducked up here....cheers.

#2,966: Binge Smiley!
What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 7 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".

This cache was one of 350 found on a short trip back to New Zealand, which was principally organised so that I could attend my Great Grandmother's 100th birthday.
I have a great time and enjoyed a great variety of caches, most of which were new (ie published in the past couple of years ).
Thanks for all the great caches.

This cache was one of approx. 350 found on a 5 day road trip with Moneydork who was on a brief visit to New Zealand.
We enjoyed a variety of caches in an area that stretched between Christchurch Dunedin and Pukaki.
Thanks to the many people who have hidden and maintained the caches.

Wandered down Park Lane to GZ, saluted the Queen and signed the visitors book at Windsor Castle. nice one erninz
That took longer as expected and the GPS was not a help. Found just before we wanted to give up.
We are staying at Rakaia Gorge this week, and we decided to spend a day travelling south so we could complete 2 Auckland challenge caches. For the 'So Far Away Challenge' we needed to find 10 caches that are 1000km or more from home. And for our Full Geocaching Licence we needed to find 50 caches in a day that are at least 1km apart. We have also been wanting to visit Moeraki Boulders (which also happens to be 1001 kms from home), so we had to time our trip around the tides. The 8.30am low tide meant we had to leave very early to travel 220kms from Rakaia Gorge to Moeraki , then find at least 10 caches further south before caching our way back north.
We had a very enjoyable day exploring further south than we have travelled before, clocking up close to 500kms, finding 69 caches along the way, and achieving both the challenge cache goals we had set.
At There will always be an England we found the cache in the second copse of trees we looked at.
Thanks for your part in helping make our day so much fun.

Nice stroll along gravel road and relatively quick find. Just had to figure out which clump of trees in the "copse". TFTC.
Out for a trip to Oamaru to escape the foul weather we've been having in Dunedin in recent weeks. Quick find. About an hour after finding this we came across a "Best of British" geocoin in a cache in Kakanui. Pity we hadn't been doing caches the other way round as it would have been most appropriate to drop it into this cache. TFTC.
We enjoyed the day caching in this area

So many caches done to remember all, but got a kick out of all that we found (0ver 600 in 8 days)

Found as part of a great day in and around Oamaru. Still reckon this is the best caching area I have ever encountered. Original standard set by Bitsprayer, but now a few others adding to the story. Many thanks to all!
