Hi TheWanglers
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Like the previous cacher, couldn't even locate the stumps. Decided pretty quickly to move on. Might be good if CO could check/confirm cache still here.
KrystalKath, Tama and I are visiting the Hurunui for the weekend. We stopped here on the way, but no hope of finding this cache. I couldn't even find the stump(s)!
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 3 Picton to Waikari 36 caches found including 1 of the targets. I searched for some time. At one stage even jumping the fence. The long grass made it difficult to spot any tree stump. I eventually I spotted something that looks like the mower had hid it so there was not much left of it. Thank you for the placement.

Ethness has obviously led a sheltered life... I love battered apple rings (as my lack of a waistline will attest). TFTC.
Lots of bramble and long grass around but we found the cache. Haven’t ever had apple rings battered and deep fried. TFTC
Found without a problem.Demainiac and myself had a few hours chasing geo!s.Thanks for the cach.
Found while on way back from Hanmer after replacing a log book in one of our caches. Soggy wet. Needs replacement container Hello Mrs! TFTC
Day 2 of my Canterbury Weekend. Nice weather quiet roads and lots of caches to find. What more could you want. This took me ages to find. well hidden. TFTC
Hard to find but got there. T F T C The Wanglers, nearly time to head to destination - Amberley!
A real quick roadtrip weekend 'down the line' to Chch and surrounds for us this weekend. mrs capperz is on her own 2 week roadie, so it's just nightowl19 and I for the long haul, 800kms, puzzles and trads, a couple of badge upgrades on Statto project-gc, and a few take-away establishments visited to maintain the caching machine. A good weekend which as usual is over too soon, but still a good couple of days away. I had a meal to go to on Friday night so was not on the road until the relatively late time of 0800 on Saturday morning, and back home again just 36 short hours later on Sunday evening. Treble figure haul over those 2 days and plenty of back road sights and experiences of parts of Canterbury not travelled before. Managed a couple of earth caches, a load of apples (enough for cider!), some childrens names and even mustered some errant horses (on the loose from Kaimanawa?}

Aw not much left of the tree now, found the stump by walking back and forth.
Thanks very much!
Thanks very much!
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are on a 4 day exploration around Kaikoura. Our journey today takes us to Waikari and back. We are up early and move Zara to a sand pit to play with a dump truck and digger, while we run away with Toby.
The apple series. Its got to be an apple series. The Seagnoid counts down to zone GZ but no tree in sight, but I stop. We search and reread the cache notes and yes this is a bygone apple tree. We were not quite stumped here for a Snag and tag. Cheers. Thought there might be a recipe for Apple rings on the cache page - but no. Oh well. Onwards.

Ahh - at last - the start of the apple series! I was a little disappointed at GZ, expecting these to be hidden at apple trees, like another series I have worked, just north of ... of... Christchurch? Dunedin?
But then we found the hide. Okay, that makes sense, disappointment relieved!
It's a four-day weekend!! Taybeedragon and I headed down to Kaikoura, that destination chosen mainly because I have some unfinished business down that way. And on top of that, like everyone else, we wanted to do some rubber-necking, to check out the changes in the route south. Apparently at least two more years work before the road is declared finished. Yesterday was urban caching. Today: Rural.

Last apple for the day, this had us stumped for a while. Initially we were on the wrong side of the fence and trampling round some pretty long grass. Eventually made the find just as we were about to give up. Found cache exposed, so inserted into crack in stump as much as I could and covered with litter. Looks like it was knocked about a bit by a mower. TFTC again TheWanglers.
Today was travelling back home to Blenheim after an enjoyable extended weekend in Chch catching up with family and friends, shopping, visiting the A&P show and a bit of caching. And eating way too much....
The target today was a little loop from Waikari to Medbury, a road neither me or Jo have ventured down. Found all caches targeted, so thanks all COs (esp. TheWanglers) and sorry for this cut and paste bit.

Nearly gave up on this, I think the stumps have become somewhat overgrown in more recent times! But persistence pays...tftc
Diverted to here late this afternoon on the way to Hanmer. Found the cache quite quickly, it's getting a bit overgrown. The log is also very wet although I was still able to sign it with my "wet paper" pen. TFTC!
on our holiday trip through new zealand we are picking op some caches.
this is one of them. thanks a lot for making us enjoy our hobby, even far away.
TFTC.

I had forgotten about this series until I saw this cache, remember finding quite a few on a previous trip to the South Island. TFTC
Quick find on what will be a slow trip to Nelson with SH1 being closed because of the earthquakes of 14.11.16 Tftc
I was looking at these caches thinking I'd done them and found quinellas logs back in October 2015- logging a VERY late find.
Really should have listened to other peoples notes about not crossing the fence. Took a lot longer then we should have here and drew plenty of attention. Tried to dry as best we could. Thanks
Thought we were going to be fried here as it took us much longer to find this than it should've as we followed our eyes and not the GPS. TFTC #9018
Mrs Biggles and I are heading back to Nelson from Christchurch today. We made a bit of a detour out on some very pleasant back roads on the way to find a few caches. Took a bit of feeling about to find the cache. Last one for us today. Time to head on home now. TFTC, Biggles.
Apple Rings battered & deep fried (North Canty) was transferred from Hello Mrs to user TheWanglers
Yeah --- I have found my first cache. I think I may have started something that will drive my wife crazy
Found after a little searching, no need to cross over the fence. Paper is a bit wet. TFTC
Came down here hoping to find a cache about racecourse and got a history in apples instead
The tree has started to regrow, and is sprouting up thickly. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Found it even in the dark. Fantastic find number 26 for our adventure, will be back another day for the rest of the Apple trail
Ahhhh...back on the apple series. Found with close looking. Stump is sprouting!
Thanks
Thanks
Making our way North towards home after the Christchurch Mega with tmann421.
The stump is still there and so is the cache! A nice quick find here by tmann and really enjoyed this series.

TFTC Hello Mrs
Didn't expect to find this one after the last two DNF's here but found the film canister in seconds right at co-ords and as hint suggested. Log a bit damp but could sign easily enough.
Lots of names in log so must be the original container.
Hint item is quite low! TFTC

Found without the description as it is out of cell phone coverage. I will have to read about it soon Tftc.
On way from Motueka to Christchurch. Straightforward find. Another minute for the 400 minute challenge. Thanks for the cache.
Quick park and grab. Might be worth tidying up the log sheets. TFTC! Have been in Hanmer for work, returning to Wellington today.
Found this one after a little trouble. We didn't listen to the GPS and were searching elsewhere for a while. A change of tactic and the cache was soon in hand! TFTC
11.45: On the way to Lake Taylor just off SH7. As so many times during our journey: another fast find at roadside. No problem at all: everything matches the description.
Weather: overcast, 10°C;
Wheelchair: on the road only, keep an eye on the traffic;
State: logbook full.
Thank you!

25th of 30 finds (a personal high) in North Canterbury today, between 10.15am and 8.22pm (and clocking up 136.4 kms between first and last), enjoying a number of back country roads at a leisurely pace and taking lots of photos along the way.
Logging this five weeks after the actual find. Reasonably straightforward. #647. TFTC.

Quickly found with the grandchildren today on our way back to Chch - weather is deteriorating! TFTC
nice to grab this one as must have been missed out from my last "Apple raid trip"
For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We took the Lewis Pass route on the way up, and encountered all kinds of silly weather, including snow and hail. We did consider turning around and following the highway, but it ended up being ok – we just had to drop a few caches as there was no way of getting there in the knee high snow…
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Thought it was gone at first, but then spied it in the open
Consec caching day # 699

Great wee cache, went up the road on the other side of the river first but soon got sorted, TFTC
Bad weather stopped us doing this part of the apple loop last trip. Bad weather meant we could do it today as we headed south through the Lewis rather than the planned Kaikoura route. This was the first of a few more apple caches in the bag today.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On my way to Christchurch for Easter. Having read previous log i was expecting it to be difficult but spotted it immediately. Im not the first to sign the log today. TFTC

Easter started early, off to Hanmer in the rain! Picked up a few caches on the way. Hmm no productive apple tree here! Could only be one place, and there it was. Thanks for the hide.
Now home and review of previous logs I may have been a little hasty in logging a needs maintenance for this one. Thanks Hello Mrs for your caches.
This cache may be difficult to find as it is a bit different to others in the apple series. Please do not log a needs maintenance log for a DNF.
Can this pls be checked as per previous dnf comments. No success today with two sets caching eyes.
Tree stumps have been removed and a newish looking fence installed. May need checking.
While I was looking for something a little more substantial, (not sure what that was in hindsight ?) Big Fuzzy soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.
4 days, 1600 KM's, 0ver 300 caches found, a whirlwind of a road trip,great fun.
4 days of cheap motels, washing back greasy cheeseburgers with ice cool 7 Up, of flat tires, great scenery, good weather, good company, riding shot gun, shared driving, speed tickets, mars bars, bottled water, photo ops and finding caches .
Good to get back and get this one - a apple tree trys to grow

On my second Apple cache run in the Waikari area. I didn't know there was a racecourse here. Locals were hard at work on a working bee, mowing the track and tidying it up. Almost overlooked this cache but found it in the end. Cheeky hide. That's apple cache number five found today. Thanks for the cache.
