Although I did not find any cache, thanks for taking me here (away from the Great Vic Bike Ride). The place looks like it has been trashed now and nothing like the pics. But it does still bring back images of what it must have once looked like as a communal rather than a community garden. Well, that is what it reminded me of. 1960's maybe 70's at a guess. Still a nice spot though. Even took home a few lemons from a sad looking tree but that made the visit all the better, TFTC.
The cache has been destroyed and needs updating. The cache outside has been smashed and the actual cache is missing
Thugs have trashed the entire reserve. Remains of the housing the cache was in. Actual Caches is gone.
After checking into the nearby caravan park we headed out to find some nearby caches and this was one we found. An interesting area amongst the houses. TFTC
Had this one in hand fairly quick before the rain started again.
Good hide and camo. Signed and replaced. TNLN TFTC.

Visiting Bairnsdale with our club, we have had a fairly full and interesting week. However, we have also managed to pop out on our own to search for some caches. This afternoon we looked for four with three successes. This was the first find at 2.25 pm. What a great hidden spot, the community around here must be fond of it. Loved the couches and pizza oven(?). Appropriate hide also. Thank you kimmatmoo for taking us there. A T B travelling with us visited, TNSL. A Fav!
After my work meetings in Bairnsdale were done for the day. I had time to find a few caches there and on the drive back to Melbourne. What a neat little reserve and some interesting features here indeed. A quick find for the cache as the hint was very helpful. TFTC, Biggles.

What a gem! We loved the colorful lounge suite feature in this amazing little garden - see image. The cache hide complimented the whole effect - a favourite from us.
This is one of the caches we were able to find while staying in Bairnsdale to celebrate a very special family birthday.
Our thanks to kimmatmoo for bringing us to this location.

Loved this cache. Due to previous notes I approached with caution and a long stick.. I don't do spiders.. But all was well. Took a little army man for my 3yr old Geokid to enjoy and left some traditional Aussie money
Great little spot, would be a ripper with an open fire and a few friends. Took a few loops to find the entrance which is just off Hadfield rd.
Found it with my girlfriend (commented below). After 10+years of going there I thought i knew this reserve like the back of my hand.... Not anymore. Might be best to use a stick to open it so you dont get bitten.
Nice easy find don't know about the massive caterpillars and dead spider that fell out on me! Never knew about this community garden. Tftc!
This place is awesome, pity it's a bit neglected atm. Quick find. Thanks for bringing us here.
This little reserve appears to be the product of a disturbed mind.. just weird, the sort of place that reminds me that I may just be sane after all.. thanks..!!
Staying at our holiday house in Metung while having a week off work so I can go caching. Found this on a beautiful winters day with the sun shinning, I picked the right week to take off work. Found at 9:30pm. Log book corner has been burnt but still ok. Sl thanks kimmatmoo for the cache. Adding a fav point.
Quick stop on the way home from shopping with jody1470 an geo kid nice location
Found it with outnabout86. It looks like the hairy guardian has left the building. A quick find. Tnln. Thanks to Kimatmoo for the cache
Yay - found this pretty reserve and cache today. Thanks kimmatmoo for setting this on up. I love the cache guardian. It's big and hairy and living inside the bigger container. It is certainly right at home so I didn't disturb it, just removed the smaller container from around it and let it be. After I'd signed the log, I found getting the smaller container back into the bigger container tricky without having the big, hairy guardian chase me.

Found 9:32:00 AM, during an Easter long weekend expedition to Barnesdale to visit family.
TNLN, thanks kimmatmoo.

What a great little spot this is and one that i would love to have my own home back onto. We had no problems finding our way in, and apart from a little of the sawfly larvae mentioned in previous logs, found the cache in pretty good nick.
TFTC.

I can see why you would enjoy spending time here. It's lovely, though seems not to be used so much nowadays. Found at 9:34am with Harrowang to the rousing calls of the cockies. Took 2 rings. Left Damsel fly. SL TFTC
After staying in a caravan park in Bairnsdale with MarknDee we checked for nearby caches before leaving. This one came up on the radar, but we needed a friendly local to point us to the entry. The clever cache was located quickly and upon opening we discovered a lizard and a spider had made it their home overnight. With them dispatched it was time to examine the contents and sign the log book. SL at 9.34am Took one of the many rings and left a couple of crickets to keep the local wildlife company! #2794 TFTC kimmatmoo
Out with lagavullin3 grabbing some of the newer local caches today and this was next. Thankfully he was navigating as it would have been difficult to find the entrance to this hidden little park without his eyes watching! Once parked it was a short walk to GZ where the well built cache was spotted and signed (and more sawfly larvae poo was removed - must gather quickly at this time of year!) Thanks to kimmatmoo for this one.
Dropped down tonight and found it full of sawfly larvae poo (thankfully not mice) all fixed again
this one is in a great deal of distress
it looks like mice have made there home here of something

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
It seems that some rather large leaches or maybe slugs have made a home in the cache disguise. Mold surrounds the sistema and the leaches lurk behind it. Other than that we really enjoyed the hide. Very well done!
Giving it a fav point.
Thanks for the fun kimmatmoo!

We had to get our skates on as we'd been doing too much caching & not enough driving. We were destined to stop somewhere around the Inverloch area tonight with LOTS of caches in between, so we elected to do just one in Bairnsdale. Sort of at random, but did we pick well! What a wonderful little park & so off the tourist route. This is why we love caching - it brings you to the special "local knowledge" spots. Some really artistic work has gone on here - & we're not talking about the cache which is something of a work of art in itself. Well done kimmatmoo & thanks for sharing your inside info.
What a great spot. Loved the chairs and oven! A quick find die to accurate co ords. TFTC d done in my lunch break
Opened it up and out fell the cache along with a lovely big spider! Ahhh. So we left a spider friend for him
Found it but it has been attack by vandals. I put everything back how it should be but it is not attached anymore. Need some maintenance.
Thank you for the maintenance log has now been maintained hopefully te fix is a bit tougher as it appears someone may be squatting in the location
Bit of a struggle to find the park access, but nice easy cache on the inside! Ps- hadfield reserve, just by the petrol stn!
Nice cute hide, but took us a while to find how to get to the gardens - access from the side street opposite the petrol station!
Cute gardens, may have picked myself a lemon from the lemon tree. TFTC

Wow, this is a pretty little spot, no wonder that you like it here. The cache was found easily, but the wire that was holding it up has broken. It is OK as it is though, thanks kimmatmoo.
Mr. Coffee found this nicely hidden cache while staying in Bairnsdale for the cake and coffee event.
Thanks Kimmatoo for the hide,
Regards The Coffee's.

Suscoe's 7th find of 14 for this morning as out trip to Bairnsdale was quickly coming to a close.
Like others we did a lap before finding the access.
A quick find once inside, this must have been quite a pretty place back in the day.
The cache container seems to have lost its spot where it was originally and it may need a bit of relocating.
Thanks to kimmatmoo for showing us this place.

Very near little hide. Could be a great little reserve with some more love. Tnln Tftc
Thanks. KMT lived close by all my life and never been here .unusual and fascinating.
We missed the entrance to this on the first time around, but got there in the end. An interesting little garden. It look like it was once well loved. We speculated how it came to be a community garden; did someone bequeath it to the council? A hidden space, thanks for showing it to us. The cache has been visited by some randoms, although all is still intact, apart from the log book which shows some signs of trying to be incinerated.
We spent the day in Bairnsdale today doing as many caches as we could before we headed off towards Sale. This was one of the caches we were able to find in conjunction with caching friends LazzaL. A unique location and a fav point alloc. Thanks to kimmatmoo.
In Bairnsdale with friends Liz & Bruce trying to get as many done today as possible before moving on to Maffra. Thanks to kimmatmoo
A very interesting and unusual reserve for a first cache. Well done and thanks for the effort.
had been viewing this one for awhile. Finally got there with Just Jesse after a big walk on the rail trail
We were caching with Daynaduc this pm when we found this very well constructed cache. After a little effort we had the cache opened as instructed and soon had the log book signed and replaced. The mozzies were very attentive whilst we were opening the cache etc.! What an interesting small community garden this is.
TFTC kimmatmoo and for bringing us to this lovely garden so we could enjoy it.

Holy guacamole! This little reserve was amazing! At first, I had no idea how to access a cache that seemed to be in the middle of a group of houses. After approaching it from a few directions, I found the entrance, and was completely entranced! I'm going to take the boys to visit on our way home. Gets a fave point from me.

For the school holidays, I put GeoSons on a train then bus to Orbost, to stay with their grandfather. Today, I geocached my way across from Melbourne, picking up a few that were right on the highway. Grandpa picked up the geocaching bug when he came to visit a few months ago. I arrived in Orbost to find that he had taken the boys to find one today, and wants to pick up the rest of the ones in town tomorrow! TFTC

Found by Mary & David at 1050. Wouldn't have known that this quirky park was there if not for the sign out by the street. Spotted the hide as we arrived at GZ. The outer container was crawling with caterpillars and piled high with their droppings. We evicted them and cleaned it out in case the next cacher has that phobia (does it have a name?). Our thanks to kimmatmoo.
DNF @ 23:30 with LouiseAnn and -nirgal-.
We had a few attempts to get to GZ, but as we still had many more kms to go before getting back to Melbourne, we gave up without making it to GZ.
Thanks anyway kimmatmoo.

Time for geo family to get out and have some fun , even if the weather was trying to dissuade us [:(!]. Didn't even know this place existed, its just a shame that all that seems to be growing here now are weeds.
