The tracks at Mt Louisa are being upgraded, with work commencing this week.
https://www.townsville.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0019/62137/Mount-Louisa-Factsheet-web.pdf
Given that the CO doesn’t appear to have logged in for over 2 years and the poor state of most of the series (NM logs and DNF’s, despite other cachers trying to maintain) I think archiving the series is the appropriate action so once the work is complete others can place new hides around the new trails.

This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Ok second attempt this week to hit the 5 peaks series. Hit the hill at a much cooler time.
Last cache of the series and noooooooo.........a DNF!
I will return.

After a good leg workout, we looked under & around GZ for a good while not coming up with any goods.
After a good leg workout, we looked under & around GZ for a good while not coming up with any goods.
We have been wanting to try this series on a couple of previous visits to Townsville but have finally managed to make the time. We were very pleased to have a fairly stiff, cooling breeze to keep us comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our hike.....thank goodness for satellite technology to show us the best way to go to reach each GZ
....and again, like the previous hide we had no luck near the second gate
Thanks anyway Team Jeddell

Have dropped off. Not quite where i found it but within the group of rocks on the trail 10m off the road.
Have found what was left of the cache. Have extracted the log in case it had a decent history, but looks like it was freshly replaced. Will locate a suitable container and replace shortly with the existing log. The show must go on...
Nice placement but the container has been in a fire so I was unable to sign the log. TFTC along this route but some do need repair/replacement.
With muggler mate in tow parked geo mobile nearby and made our way to our first cache of the morning. Dropped in fresh log and zip bag. Onwards and upwards we go. TFTC.
Have been waiting to this hike and grab these caches for a while. Today was the day, I grabbed a muggle friend and set out! I really enjoyed this hike and am amazed that I've never thought of hiking it before. Thanks for placing these caches and showing me this place
This container was nice and dry, TFTC!

We had parked our vehicle close by so this was an easy walk to and find. As the previous finders have commented, water has turned the log into mush. We didn't have a spare log with us, but we drained water ever moisture we could and added a fresh length of paper.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
Hooray !!
I have made it back to suburbia
I never thought I would be so happy about that !! [:o]
And with this cache found,
I could drag me tired and weary bones back to me campsite,
which was a very long two or three kilometres away
I will feel better after that first cold beer !!
TFTC and a fun day out [^]

Fast find. Wanted to drop a traveler but it was too big for the container. Log is in poor shape and foul use some TLC.

Great find. A bit in the wild. Gps was very accurate. A lot of constructions around
Found using a stick and with a little flick the cache was found. Cache in good order. TNLN TFTC
Walked the 5peaks this morning and were disappointed with the condition of this trail. We had 4 DNF and 2 had been totally smashed. Some parts of the track was muddy but manageable, part of the track was very over grown. Our biggest hurdle today was the heat. Sorry to tell as it is but with a bit of cache maintenance this would make a great series. TFTC
Set off at 11:30 in an attempt to grab all the caches in the 5 peaks trail and the other couple along the way, got back to the car at in just under 3 hours with 3 DNF and 17 Finds. The start of the trail was very wet and the last part was a little overgrown bit I loved the challenge and the chance to kill a few hours while waiting for my plane.
Finally a cache that I can sign properly after the last few wet ones. Thanks Team Jeddell

Found it, terrain rating 1 would suit this one, looking forward to finding the rest which I'm sure will have applicable terrain ratings after looking at map! Sl tftc
Not to sure about the terrain rating but I'll accept it. Shall have to return for the rest of the series. TFTC
[Fun one, after 5 minutes of looking of looking in the wrong place.] Maybe you should change the hint to "In the rock", not "In the rocks", as we spent ages looking in the rock wall, only to hear the call of a geo-Dad say that he'd found it. [TFTF Team Jeddell! TNLN. Find #11.]
With the Geokids at an acting course Geo-dad had originally harboured ambitions of the whole 5 peaks trail but the plan changed to getting 25 different d x t combinations in 1 day, so we ended up just sampling this trail and doing some recon (trying to find the right street from Rats Rocks..) Quick find, SL TFTC Team Jeddell, we may be back someday.
The daily log
Cannot stop myself from doing a daily log. This was an easy one, there are still some low hanging caches to be logged but sometime I will have to do the rest of the 5 peaks trek.
Thanks for the cache

[Blue]# 12535[/Blue] Found on our 2015 Winter escape trip to Qld.
Another perfect winter day for a drive around while at Townsville again.
I managed to find a few of the 5 peaks caches without much exersion.
I loved the T rating on this one, much easier than I expected.
Cheers from Wagga Wagga in the Riverina, NSW.

Today was the day that I finally set out to conquer the Mt Louisa caches that have been a blot on my map of Townsville for so long. I teamed up with new to caching but super keen cacher Frullet to add some smilies. It was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon. This was cache #16 out of 20 for the day.
A quick find.
Thanks Team Jeddell for the cache.

1571 - Off on an early morning walk to grab a couple of caches with a golfing mate, we were on our way walking up the track to Mt Louisa. After the previous cache it was a short hard trek straight up and this seemed like one of the steepest bits we had to travel. Having reached GZ it was a relief to stop the ascent and search for the cache which I spotted quickly at 6:53am. Thanks for the cache and the series Team Jeddell, it was a reward for the early morning exercise up Mt Louisa.

To the two owners of the caches up on the Louisa range, the 5 peaks series and the Numnut, Panorama & Billy goat caches: an excellent set of caches, great views, great locations!! I found all and completed the lot in 3 and a half hours. I started early at 7 am, 20℃ already, by the time I had finished it was 30! Excellent time, THANKS!
Cache found quickly and in good condition.
Signed log, left nothing.

On our trip trough Australia with the hole family we looked also for some caches. They often showed us places we would never had discovered. Thanks a lot to all the people who care about this lovely hobby .
That was a easy one, but I didnt know, if I am allowed to enter the prohibited area!?
Greetings from switzerland .

teamed up with RobS72 today as that trail of caches has been starring us in the face for a long time but the heat was murderous and we nearly gave up but we made it to the end. superb team effort and a great day out with ROb.
Jackylegs44 and myself decided a few weeks back, that we'd team up and tackle the 5 Peaks Power Trail located on Mount Louisa. For both of us, Mount Louisa is basically the last bastion of caches left in the Townsville area to find. So today was the day that we converted them to faces.
While I was relaxing, Troy got to work and quickly located the prize.
Took and left nothing. Log signed. The cache container and contents were found to be in excellent condition. Finding this cache has now given me a total find count of 1293.

The bottom of the hill is in sight now. It is really hot, so I was thankful of the shade at GZ. Having run out of water a couple of caches ago, I was dreaming about a cold drink being left in this cache for me. The cache took a bit of digging to retrieve from under the rock. I'm not a fan of sticking my hand under rocks..... Didn't find a cold drink so it was off down the hill to the next one.
Thanks for the cache, Team Jeddell

Both Cat and Bear decided to grab some caches today. We decided to grab some of the easy 5 peak ones. With the hot weather and Cat with blisters we were not going to climb a mountain today. 1st from 5 finds today.

All up 8km over 2 hours 40 minutes for us. Found this cache at 11:42:00 AM. Took a bit of a hunt before we poked far enough in to spot it. Must be getting hungry and the brain cells weren't firing as fast . Thanks Team Jeddell
Another day caching in Townsville, before we start our journey west.
Decided to do the 5 peaks series this morning and others in the area, before it got too hot.

North Qld 2013. Day 10, the second full day in Townsville. I was not up for the whole walk, so I was happy to get the ones I could drive to. The sign here is pretty clear, but no problems accessing the cache. Thanks.

Found this after work. The forbidden zone is after GZ so all good. I assume the track to the right avoids the RAAF land. Dropped off a TB.
Thanks!

Second for the morning. Another great hide, signed the log on the way up the hill. TNLNSL.
I came by in the rain this morning for a quick reccie - was thinking about doing the lower caches first. This one appears to be past a sign which says something along the lines of "RAAF No Trespassing" so I'm not sure what the go is here. There's no fence or gate though. If you were coming from the top you probably wouldn't notice it.
# 851 Knew it would already be claimed, but as this is our 900th cache (including GCA) we just had to get one more.
