A quick stop here with muggle mum and we walked up the track to GZ. Oh dear! Looks like this has been hit by lightning as the burn marks go most of the way up.
The cache is here but it has melted and the logbook is, well, sort of glued to the hard blob that was the container [:V] So I didn't sign the logbook but did take a photo as evidence should the CO require it.
On we rolled in Sooty the cachemobile...

The Sandy Shortcut Sistema has suffered serious scorching.
The cache is nothing more than a solidified lump of melted plastic with a scorched logbook stuck to the top of it

I wandered along the bitumen, Sandy Shortcut this morning
And sure enough at the half way point I found what the clue suggested
The point of interest has had some further blackening since the cache was hidden [:o]
I found the cache sitting in plain view and signed the logbook
Butt the cache really, really, really needs a new container

We found the geocache but it has been burnt in a fire, and will probably be ruined by the next rainfall .
Well we visited the brother and told him of our adventures in Geocaching for the day and he was interested soooo off we went Night caching. Seems to be the thing for August as we try to log one each day. There was me (GOM), Geojinx, brother, niece and nephew treking through the night. The local knowledge was great as we walked straight to it. The finer details were done by the hand held GPS and we found it. Pencil is no good log book is a little damp but ok. TFTC
Walked well past this one as had it confused with another and thought we were looking for a foot bridge.
Wasn't paying any attention to GPS and then suddenly Mr Beetle looked and realised that we were well past the co-ords.
Backtracked for a quick find thanks to Mr Beetle getting the clue. Thanks, first for the day.

Found at 11:05 AM GAFF1. We thought that this was just going to be a narrow goat track, but it is quite a wide and well made trail. Lots of birds singing to cheer us up!
Thanks earthly65.
Thanks earthly65.
A beautiful, sunny day and day three of 31 days of geocaching encouraged us to take the drive up to Sandy Beach.
The cache is located along a path that is adjacent to a small creek and a wetland full of Melaleucas and frogs . The cache is an easy find especially with the help of the clever hint. We left a geocoin that we had found in Croatia.
After finding the cache we went for a walk on the beach and had a Paddle Pop at the General Store. Thanks to earthly65 for motivating the morning's entertainment.
