Nice easy find and the logbook nice and dry. A water activity race thing has been set up and looks like it could be a lot of fun on a nice day. TFTC
Out with Baird to climb everest, seems a good track to do it on, great day out! Tftc, going for our top day out!
Sadly it would appear that the cache was sabotaged. Logbook replaced. If it happens again the cache will be archived.
A lot of swans with their young on the water today. Thanks for bringing us to this spot. TFTC!
Taking my sister's dogs for a walk and noticed that there was a cache here. Found easily. Thanks for the cache
Located today – thank you so much for placing. This is a very nice spot however because sending dogs to swim here. There is a lot of bird poo in the water.
In a few hours the country will change to to Covid19 Alert Level 2 so the cache has been enabled in readiness. Stay safe. Use hand sanitizer.
Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I am doing my bit to slow the spread. I will not be accepting any Found logs on any of my geocaches for the period of the Level 4 Alert.
Please do not embarrass yourself, your hobby and your country by thinking that geocaching is essential - it is not.
Stay home. Stay safe.

Staying north of the Waimak for a couple of days of March madness.
The Passchendaele Trail complete so time to find a few around Kaiapoi.
I knew that I was close to the cache when all the ducks suddenly took flight.
Another nice shiny new logbook.

Was a beautiful afternoon and I had a delivery to make nearby so decided to spend the late afternoon wandering Kaiapoi cacheing. I don't know who got the bigger fright as I neared GZ the ducks or me? Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining the cache.
On the way home to Nelson with Sir Belac, he spotted it quickly. Left a TB. Thanks BaldEd

I had an appointment in Kaiapoi this afternoon and arrived in town with time to spare. I didn't need to be reminded what a terrific time filler geocaching is and this cache served this purpose perfectly. I enjoyed the short walk to the cache site where I was assisted by some friendly birds. It didn't take me at all long to track down the nicely hidden cache.
Had to leave this one to the ducks tonight, after all the rain last few days it was very damp underfoot on the approach.
I woke up way too early this morning, so what to do? Find some caches of course! At this point, I totally gave up on trying to keep my feet dry! The whole area was soaked, and talk about water being close! Cool spot, TFTC!!

Searched at 3 cabbages around GZ, but couldn't find the cache under any of them. Accidentally found a nest with some birdies in it that gave me a fright. When you are unaware of what you are gonna see, at first the birdies nestled together in the nest look like some evil extraterrestrial abomination.

Last cache of the day as we returned to our nearby car after a great walk along the stop bank. This one took a few minutes to track down. Log book was sodden and unable to be signed unfortunately so photo attached. Tftc!

Cache number 192. I had heard this area was hit hard by the quakes but didn't realise how bad. TFTC
What a lovely place for a cache so sad people lost their homes in an idyllic setting
It was good to see a bit of sunshine today after yesterdays drizzle and we made a plan to visit Kaiapoi and Pines Beach to find a few multis plus some solved puzzles and whatever trads were nearby.
This was the first of many BaldEd caches today, not unexpected as I suppose this is BE territory . Pretty sure we haven't been to the immediate area since the earthquakes so it was sad to see the red zone. Spot on co-ords meant a quick find. Great to be on the board for today with our first find. TFTC.

#12883. Today the pond was a refuge for a number of birds (ducks and Canada geese among them). Quick find by Troodles. TFTC.
Afternoon walk on a sunny winter's day. Miss 4 was very happy to stop at the small playground on the way back to Grandma's house after finding the cache - thanks!
Lovely spot to hide a cache! Nice and easy to find without needing to be too stealthy. Quack, quack quack, quack (TFTC in duck langauge).
Came down on a most frosty morning, so with cold fingers it took a bit of effort to open the cache. Did not even know this park existed - would have been a lovely place before the quakes I'm sure
A fun road trip with tmann421 enjoying the sights and collecting some caches.
A quick find here. TFTC

Nabbed this after missing out on F2F at The Landing. Be nice if people logged F2F when they do it! Anyhow good to get this one. Tftc
Pleased to find a few more caches in Kaiapoi today, this one is my 700th find! Found easily with Injeanious TFTC!
One last stop on the way home. It was very quiet in the park and we had no problem locating the cache. I bet this is really nice spot in summer. Tftc.
I had an hour to kill so decided to scoop up a few Kaiapoi caches. This was the second find but to start with I didn't think I'd be able to get it because there was an ECan truck parked behind a stand of trees nearby. I'm not sure if they were hiding out for a quiet smoko or what but just as I took my coffee over to a nearby table they started up the truck and drove off. I waited for them to leave then along came some muggle, except as they got closer I realised that they weren't muggles at all! It was the cache owner Bald Ed showing his granddaughter the ropes. I let her find our target then added my name to the log. TFTC
Having wandered about grabbing a few caches, this was to be the last for evening at this nice spot. Followed the GPSr to GZ where a short search followed and the cache was located - TNLNSL.
Again found it rather eerie wandering around down here knowing the history and that hundreds of family homes once existed here. Was odd to see one older home surrounded by empty sections and how abruptly the damage stopped between properties. Thanks for the placement BaldEd.

A lovely evening after a very long day at work perfectly finished with a lakeside stroll to this cache. Tftc
Not sure why this cache had been on my too lazy list for as long as it has... almost missed it today... wondering why it was so hard... then found it lying out in the open... must have knocked it while searching... replaced carefully. TFTC (2647)
Found today while on holiday in Kiapoi. Phone ran out of battery so visited all the aforementioned trees. Left a diamond.
BaldEd had asked me to accompany him on a bike trip to sign off a few new caches along the Waimak River. First up we passed a few of his and others caches so that I got a few more smilies.
Cheers for the cache.

Day Three of the Christchurch Mega, so we had some time to kill before our flight out this evening, back to Auckland. Quickly found this one after a walk through the reserve. It was nice to meet you, BaldEd soon after finding this cache to learn about what this area looked like before the devastating earthquake. Thanks for sharing.

This was one of many caches found while over here to attend the Christchurch Mega Event. Just took some time to log it. SL TFTC.

Long time dream came true and we could visit New Zealand. NZ Mega was our maingoal and we had time to find others too. We travelled together with Veke68, Katsukka and tanjuli (+husband) and had great time. We used TVVK Fin (that is tanjuli, vipema, Veke68 <3 Katsukka) in mostly logbooks to save space.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Finland.

The Christchurch mega took us (=tanjuli with husband, vipema, Veke68 & Katsukka = TVVK-FIN in the logbooks) to NZ. Had a great time and found a lot of caches + saw so many interesting/beautiful places.
Thank you!!!!!
Thank you!!!!!
Out and about at the Chch Mega 2015, its 7.30am and this is the 3rd visit this cache has had today! Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap. TFTC! Blenheim Bear

[green] Well, today is the big day. One od the big days, 12 cache types in one day day. But everyone is still asleep! So Edvern and I decided to go out and get some local caches first. And this area is really weird. It seems ... empty. A brand new subdivision, all waiting to be built on. Met InfoFerret at the road end and we walk to and found the cache together.
A quick find just out of view of some nearby muggles. Sad memories of the earth quakes driving through the empty red zone. TFTC
Time to get me webbed feet on and go for a waddle along the banks of the river
I reached the end of the road and headed across the grasslands to the lake.
There I found ducks and even a couple of black swans for good measure
I found the cache too !!

First day in New Zealand with Vipema, Tanjuli and Katsukka and many nice caches and of course Mega Event.
We usually logged only TVVK FIN to save space in the logbook.
Greetings from Finland.
Thanks!

Nice little hide, I scared some ducks away as I approached the cache. Weird to see the blocked off house lots in this area..

Geotooter and I travelled across the ditch to attend the Christchurch Mega Event. One of the things I really enjoy about Mega Events is meeting so many wonderful people. It is a chance to catch up with those I already know and to make a whole bunch of new friends. I even managed to catch up with Renelm, a cacher I met while in Copenhagen earlier this year. Fantastic! We also enjoyed tripping around discovering new locations and finding some caches along the way and this was one of them. Thanks to the CO for placing this hide and adding to my global geocaching experience. Cheers.

Here for NZ MEGA. An early morning start with the Seagnoid, found around 7.30 am. Sobering to realise that there used to be a lot of housing around here. Thanks BaldEd.
Nice big lake - would have stayed longer but it was starting to get cold, time to head home (well back to the hotel!), thanks for the cache.
Mega trip to NZ with vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka, day 1. I am sure there were ducks, but I admired more black swans. Ours are white. Thanks for the fun and greetings from Finland.
Been a while since I've been here, the housing around has changed a bit. Cheers
During my walk from the car I was thinking of the Picnic table as GZ but on getting closer I knew I was wrong and began to doubt a find, however the cache was found quite quickly. Several ducks and a swan were seen in the river close to the tree. SL - no swaps today. Thanks to BaldEd for the cache.
