Found while out and about with Isis58 and NZ_B who pointed out that this was still here. Thanks wascox#14191
Out and about with NZ_B, targeting highly favourited caches for the Wheel of Challenges. This was across the road from a live cache, so the work of a moment to get this one as well. Cache still in OK condition, log certainly signabke. Tftc!
In the area today chasing a FTF and the team decided to have a quick look to see if this one was still present. And it was!
The log is now very full with all of our names. Replaced as found. TFTC

I am spending this weekend in the Wairarapa, in the company of some great caching friends. Having driven over yesterday after work, and spending a wonderful evening of relaxing, drinking, and talking complete nonsense (as you do), a few of us were talking further nonsense (who mentioned Hollandaise Sauce???) until we were suddenly snapped to attention by our collective phones all going ping! 2 new caches, and just down the road. Excellent chance for a FTF outside of my regular region, which is always extra satisfying.
Having made that find, one of our party remembered finding another cache (this one) nearby, and a quick hunt came up trumps.
Great to find an unexpected lonely cache, 1455 days since it's last find.
Thanks for putting this cache out all those years ago.

Thanks for putting this cache out all those years ago.
With the end of the year closing in fast, I had a few specific caches in the Wairarapa that had been on my 'do them this year' list for some time. Also, some of them would likely require assistance. When the option to join forces with some other Geocachers for a weekend over this way came up, I took the opportunity. What ensued was a Saturday of fun, gathering caches, flat batteries, phones dropped in lakes and ladders up trees. Sadly I couldn't stay for the whole weekend, but did manage to get done the ones I needed, and a few more as well. This was one of the caches I found.
As we were nearby finding an active cache, we also took a look here for this archived one. It was still there, and the log book intact and signable.
Thanks to the CO for placing this cache.
I enjoy every cache I find, and it is only with CO's placing them that this wonderful game continues.

Found in a group on a fun weekend in the Wairarapa. I understand this was 1451 days lonely!
Found while finding a new cache just across the road. It was a bit of a surprise to the rest of the team when I decided to wander over here!
Time for another Twig Tour, this time to the Wairarapa. 10 wellie cachers are over here for the weekend having fun in the sun, chasing targeted caches and all others around them. Cache still here. TFTC
A quick park and grab as we work our way along the road

Forgot to say, log is full and seems like it has been for a while. Adding another shhet would be useless.
Out picking up caches today to fulfil a personal challenge.
Having a nice bike ride. Nice hide.
Cheers for the cache.

There's so many lovely old homesteads and villas around Greytown. Nice quick find here. Good idea for a cache but unfortunately the camo is becoming a bit unstuck. Now we see that this road leads to the trail - if we'd known that before we may have altered our plan a little. TFTC # 12,830
The description makes interesting reading, it’s the kind of thing I love learning about. I love these historic houses, the Wairarapa seems to have its fair share of them. Thanks for the cool cache .
I love these old historical houses etc
A half day at the conference so i could nip away and travel down to greytown to locate a few more caches in this area/ a total of seven which i located 3 dnf or did not attempts once i saw what had to be done. and another half hearted attempt at one of the history multis which i did not complete. I did have added a few more caches to the souvenirs buit i am only aiming at 50 + knowing i will not get to 100.
Thank you for these caches behind greytown -to the CO who put them here.

No problems here, the coordinates were spot on. An unusual "logbook" but this is a wascox cache after all.
A lovely old house, a pity I forgot to take a photo. The cache itself was an easy find, with the GPS pointing me in the right direction. TFTC
Just like the "Pride and Prejudice" cache, our previous visit was a disaster but the flash Garmin GPS we now have pointed us to the opposite side of the road from last time. The cache still tested our mettle and the only barrier to us finding it was that we overlooked it twice even though it was obviously out of place. Cache is not quite attractive as it once was.
On a caching foray with EthNZ into the Wairarapa today - No 4 in the race to 50 in a day. A previous DNF Avenged! TFTC.
Out for a day around the Greytown area to catch up on quite a few caches that have sprung up in the last little while. Not too bad a day for it, and a good chance to get the mtb out on the river trail. Good to have fozzmiester along for the day too.

#510 finally got around to coming back here after a long search initially. Was a quick find today. Tftc.
A couple of hours to spare before a social engagement in Carterton this afternoon so decided to collect a few caches on the way.
Unfortunately couldn't find it but will try again if someone else finds it after our lame attempt.

One of the many caches we found on our campervan journey from Lower Hutt to Tauranga. A mighty and enjoyable journey through many great and iconic parts of the north island. Many thanks to the many CO's for the great cache placements and for bringing us to new places. Sorry for the generic log.
On another day, this could have taken a while to find but I got lucky and went straight to it.
Found while collecting a few caches on "take it easy" weekend in the Wairarapa. TFTC
Last year, I was at Totaranui for some nights...we had the campgound for us alone I must admit it was July when we were there KiwiExplorer got it pretty fast and singed us in.

Out on a short weekend road trip with CacheMike. We parked and I searched the obvious place. No not there. Or there. Oh hold on perhaps it was back there. Yep. Nice one.
Thanks wascox for the cache.

Thanks for the great day of caching will be back sometime to finish off any I have missed. nice to meet you today also. keep up the great work.
Started out about 10 am this morning on the bikes with a heap of cached saved from when we were down here last, thanks to all the cos and Wilcox for the time and effort put into some of the ones we came across, after roughly 20km we managed 19. Lovely day and now sitting back enjoying a well earned beer. Tftc I have added paracord key chains to the ones I could.
Another quick find, with Paua. Had to look twice as we nearly missed this one. TFTC.

After a fair scratch around and no find 12 months ago it was a relief to spot this one TFTC
Got muggled here by the cottage owners (but they were both very friendly). Will have to return.
Found with tmann421 and Just-Lookin on a sunny day of caching in the Wairarapa. TFTC
Spent the weekend in the Wairararapa collecting caches and finishing on the Sunday with a hike up to Blue Range Hutt from Kiriwhakapapa. Great weather and a great weekend where I teamed up with tmann421 and Princess-Emily. Lots of fun and enjoyed the variety of caches in the area.
A bit of a search and then I though ... I wonder ... and it was!

#844 Almost got caught in the act by a muggle - thought we were looking for watercress. TFTC
Took the day off work to go exploring the geocaches in Greytown. Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball and the drizzle and rain made for some less than ideal geocaching. Nevermind, still had a good time and really enjoyed some very well thought out geocaches.
Overlooked the cache on my first search. After searching else where for a while, I came back to the original spot and made the find. TFTC.

Cache # 2,044 - Found this today on a lovely day through the Wairarapa with Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter. Easy find, but believe that the cache container has seen better days. TNLNSL. TFTC!
#1283 Found during a 24 hour caching raid in the Wairarapa with Nic-jay- seeing how many we could find in 24 hours. Ska spied the cache while Nic-jay was searching a bit further afield. Neat hide although it's starting to look a bit worse for wear. TFTC!
Found while on a 24 hour caching adventure with Skaga through parts of the Waiarapa.
I went for a wee wander as both the GPS and myself felt that it was time to give Skaga a fair go at locating this cache first! She may tell it a different way. TFTC

Found on a >41 hour non-stop geo roadtrip from Wellington to Auckland via Cape Palliser and a whole bunch of skinny winding Wairarapa roads, in the esteemed company of slieschke, mike-miss and cretti. We picked up our rental car, dubbed the Idiot Box, and assumed our new identity as Team CRT, shortly after 8am at Wellington Airport and headed north.
We first headed to Porirua Harbour to take on the resident Kiwi geo art trail before heading over to the southern Wairarapa and Cape Palliser where we visited the light house at about midnight and tried our best to avoid seals while searching for a few caches along the southern most shore line of the North Island.
We headed up past Greytown and Carterton, focussing on caching areas west of SH2 this trip. There were some highlight caches, particularly around Carterton (I think) and some way up in the hills looking over the whole area from Masterton to Martinborough.
It was daylight again by the time we hit Masterton and we decided to hit fast forward and skip a planned area (will just have to come back again!) and shot through to Palmerston North where we got back into the swing of things.
We took the back-road up to Mangaweka, discovering some really fanstastic little places along the way, like a picnic area and waterfall way down in a canyon, and then we continued via Taihape, across and up through Owhango, to get some really old caches, and then north through Te Awamutu and back to Auckland to drop off the Idiot Box at the airport.
And of course, despite it then being after 1am on Monday morning, and raining kinda heavily, slieschke and I couldn't resist driving over to the North Shore for an FTF on a cache published earlier in the evening.
Thanks to all the cache owners along the way, even if we couldn't find your cache - all part of the adventure! Sorry for the copy/paste log, but just too many caches to remember *all* of them individually.
Another good one and another "guys did you check this... it's the cache" moment. Nice one. TFTC!!!

Found in the company of Cretti, funkymunkyzone and mike-miss on a crazy Wellington to Auckland road trip in the idiot box. We traveled via the Kiwi GeoTrail in Porirua, the Wairarapa including Cape Palliser, the Manawatu, and back to Auckland via the western side of the Central Plateau. Signed as Team CRT. Despite very little sleep the weekend was a blast!
Clever.
Thanks!
Clever.
Thanks!
A plan was hatched for yet another extreme, fly down, drive back caching weekend from Wellington to Auckland. This time, Cretti and slieschke joined in on what turned out to be another epic road trip with myself and funkymunkyzone (our third trip this year).
We all met up at Wellington Saturday morning as i ended up being on an earlier flight to the rest of the crew. Jumped in our rental which happened to be a Ssangyong SUV this time round and headed straight to Porirua Harbour to hit the Kiwi GeoTrail. From there on, we zig zagged our way through Wiararapa to Cape Palliser, back up through Martinborough, Masterton, Ekatahuna, Pahiatua, Palmerston North, Taihape, Te Awamutu and back home to Auckland in the early hours of Monday morning.
To save time and log space, we signed the logs as "Team CRT" travelling in the idiot box for the weekend. Lots of laughs were had over our 1500km+ / 41 hour road trip which consisted mainly of narrow gravel roads, some of which had spectacular scenery and views. Sorry for the copy/paste logs as its now all abit of a blur having only a few short naps in between. Many thanks to all the cache owners who have placed caches for us to find on another epic little adventure. TFTC!

Queen's Birthday weekend and a start to winter caching, time spent in the Wairarapa. Now how could you beat that? Try finding some caches too!
Nice to have this one snared. A tricky location and trickier hide.
Straightforward find, much as we would expect; cache in order, log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

I took two likely lads out today for another day in the Wairarapa. Today was a little shorter than other recent days, however enjoyable nevertheless.

GPS wasn't stable, maybe due to the dense cloud, so my search was rather wide, but eventually got my hands on the cache which I had actually seen early on in the search. Great to see history interpreted on signs in the area. Thanks for the clever hide.
Managed to wangle most of a weekend in the Wairarapa. Knew it was coming up for a while so had put in a bit of an effort solving some puzzles. Had a great couple of days and wound up with about 300 finds. Hardly scratched the surface really - I'll be back!
