Bit disappointed not to find this one after reading the previous logs. Also did not see any cows!
Nice easy find, but surprisingly well-used road. I took SO many pictures of the REALLY interesting cows! For that reason, the presentation was a bit frustrating as it's hard to be in stealth mode when the ground around your ankles is littered with you-know-what's. In the UK, we call them Babushka Dolls (probably 'cos it's easier to pronounce than Matryosha!). Otherwise, clever and fun! Something a little unusual and unexpected in rural 'Rapa. TFTC wascox
Was looking in the wrong spot to start with but soon found the cache further along. Made our way into the logbook to sign our names. Found with mswilby. Thanks for the cache, wascox#6041 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next Mega Event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
**19,706**Had to detour a little back to this cache - had missed it on a previous visit and was determined to turn this frown upside down. Can't believe we didn't find it last time. A fun cache find. TFTC
Out and about early enjoying the Greytown environment. Such a lovely day to be enjoying the weather here. We are attending Wairarapa Walking Festival event later today so decided to also have a stay over and do some caching as well. Nice that we could incorporate another activity here. We parked opposite cache location and soon had the cache in hand. Was nice to retreat to the car to be able to retrieve the log & sign etc. Cache returned after signing before a group of muggles arrived via bikes.
Second attempt at this one, this time with JustlookingOO, who found it pretty quickly. Cant believe I missed it last time!
Out and about with NZ_B. Spent some time hunting through the undergrowth before finding this nice big container... Lots of fun to open and extract the log within, then to replace everything as found. Log nice and dry. Tftc!
Wow. Found it after a good long look! About 10 m from GPS location! Have fun finding it!
Walked away without finding it. Though, on a positive note, we can say it was well hidden. =]
A rainy Sunday morning in Greytown.
GPS was perfect but the road was super busy, and a guy in a ute turned around, came back and gave us a talking to. How said some geocachers had been jumping in his paddock - which is unnecessary and not okay.
Our first and last geocaching of the day - we just didn't really feel up it after that experience. It's just not a fun cache - there's no way to be stealthy while on a straight road with nowhere to hide.

I had a bit of a muddle trying to navigate these roads, but I finally found myself in the right place for this find. A cursory search of some likely spots turned up an exciting-looking container, and I took it back to my car for an enjoyable opening session.
Safely put back afterwards, stealthily avoiding cars. Tftc!

Not sure what took longer... Finding the cache, or finding the log within the cache!
A friendly local passing by on a bicycle confirmed I was in the general area of the "geolocation thingy"

Mum is helping me log all my caches that I haven't logged yet.Found with Mum (LL113) and Dad (GNARwhal) and one of my sisters (Gabzter13).
An impromptu weekend caching trip to the Wairarapa with GeoHubby, Miss 15 and Miss 9!
While the family made haste collecting pine cones on the side of the road I hunted high and low. Eventually I went back and read some previous logs, which ended up leading me straight to the right point of attack, as the posted coords are a bit off.
Brilliant cache! Loved this one!
Had to reconstruct the cache in record time due to approaching muggles. Would love to know exactly have fast it actually was!

A bit of a scrabble and stretch to reach this one, but well worth it. Loved the hide. The log is still very full
Took a little time to find the then found it,then found it,then found it And one time or was it two got to sign the log thanks Wascox you have made our stay in greytown worth while. Thanks for the fun TFTC
Day 1 Cache 7 of my mad mission to the Wairarapa for the 100-10-7 Challenge. Wet and rainy day today but cachers must carry on. The lovely Ethness has joined me as driver for the day. Spent a while searching for this, into the wet bushes a few times, but duly found. Its not often you get to say you had fun opening the cache. TFTC.
What a cool cache idea. GPS was off a wee bit. KTG used a few logs down as more of a clue/hint where to look while I had my head in the bush. TFTC
Log was full so wr have have signed and left a new log in place.

A very cute hide - and I had actually thought of doing this kind of hide before. We enjoyed the artwork on the containers too. Thanks to previous finders for the tip about the GPS and to for diving into the hedge. KTG
Came for a bike ride along here this afternoon, and after reading the last log, I was quickly able to locate. A fun piece to do, log signed and replaced, TFTC
Tricky to find, I suspect these trees have grown since the cache was first hidden. Now I did have a car slow down and ask if I was ok! friendly folk, nothing to see here people
So I went around 13m from the co-ords, and just dived in, and after a short search found the cache.
Then the fun bit, luckily I have learnt a few matching skills, and I soon had the log signed, and everything reassembled.
Cool idea, can see why the favourites. Thanks for the hide wascox

Wow what an adventure trying to find this Cache. We had two attempts on the same day trying to find it. We looked through other posts to see if there were hints. As I was about to log a DNF hubby drove a bit further on (10-13 m) from GZ coordinates and stopped. Following some clues from other posts quickly located the large Cache.
The hedge is solid! Took a few minutes and a different vantage point to spot the large cache. Enjoyed the ‘Russian’ container, particularly being recycled. Thanks wascox!
That’s a real neat one, we enjoyed pulling it apart and putting it back together
Heading through the Wairarapa today and finding a couple of caches along the way, this was one of them. My second visit here. First time it was dark, and somehow my torch just never landed on the cache. This time, no trouble with the initial find, other than avoiding the millions of bees that appear to really like the flower of the hedgerow. Log was signed in due course and everything reassembled for the next finder. TFTC.
Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! Over the barbed fence we reach! Good fun, reminded me of one I had as a kid, maybe 20-ish of them in 1? TFTC!!
Out caching with Hinemoana... I'm tempted to post a photo of her as she searched, although that might not be appreciated? Fun to open - finding the log inside required almost as much work as finding the giant container in the first place, and that was a new twist!
This was a bit challenging for my shorter arms but with the help of Jo9ty we were able to retrieve this cache. Tftc
Took a while to find and then retrieve but hard to miss! Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
soon spotted container ,than opening was interesting at about 3am in morning
finally log book
thanks for the fun cache

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Easter weekend is upon us. We’ve been looking forward to this holiday - it’s a chance to take a big swipe at the PWGT2 caches. We’re also keen to pick off some interesting hides and avenge one or two previous DNFs...
Fatigue was beginning to set in. The mechanics of this cache were very nicely executed, but we just wanted to be done... A great caching idea - Thanks wascox and TFTC.

Quick to find but needed long arms to grab. Stressful trying to open and close before cars passed by. TFTC!
It's Valentine's Day today.
What should a good Husband do?
* Spend it with his @WonderfulWifey?
* Or go away on a 'date' with two of her three other 'Husbands'?
The date won out (sorry darling!) and BoardGamesHusband, StaycationHusband, and RealHusband convened for an assault on archived Skindo caches in the Wairarapa (plus a couple of PWGT and other randoms thrown in for good measure - like this one!).
To try to claw back some W.A.F. points, we did take SkyCraneKid (FKA. EtherMaster) along for the trip. Not sure if it was sufficient though...?
I really enjoyed this cache, and it is very deserving of its FP haul.
In fact, have another - your 50th!
> log signed as TECatS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)

We drove past this cache, as our objective was primarily skindo caches (and archived ones in preference). But then someone said this had a wheelie bin full of favourites, so on hte way back we stoppeed here.
Yep, I like large caches, as I think geocaching should be a family friendly activity, and to ecourage the youngsters something bigger than a micro is better. So this gets a favourite. And a path tag. Congratualtions! 50 favourites!
Teamed up with Etherlord and Ether Master from the Etherlord Clan and TwigNZ, for a raid in Skindo land. We arranged to meet in Masterton, swapped into one car and headed south. The aim was to get the 5 PWGTs south of here, and to collect Skindo's achived caches, especially puzzles, along the way. although we did get a few others as we were "just passing".
But time conspired against us. Or maybe it was skindo himself, as we only got 50 caches, and only as far south as Greytown. We have made a tentative plan to be back in a couple of months to to come back and work this area again.
All logs signed as TECATS - TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid.

Having been over here in the Wairarapa only a few weeks ago, I wasn't expecting to be here again so soon. But the chance to have a whole day out caching with friends was too good to miss. Between us we hatched a plan to get as many archived Skindo caches as we could, and any others we were going to be driving right past. My main roles today were as driver and searcher, whilst happily leaving the navigation to the others who were able to use their GPSRs and programs other than the official app to see the caches I couldn't.
My apologies for the generic logging, but anything notable will be commented upon. For convenience all logsheets today were signed TECATS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and The Seagnoid) regardless of whether any 1 of us may have already have found a cache on a previous trip.
We were attracted to this Trad due to the number of FP's it has attained. Once at GZ it was a reasonably quick find, and then the fun of opening it. If nothing else this was a good chance to learn something new, as I've always known these things as Babushka Dolls and so having consulted uncle Google I am now aware of the subtle difference between Babushka and Matryoshka. Finding no issues with this one, the log was quickly signed and the whole thing was replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

On a trip to the Wairarapa with Flowerydaze and doing some caches and this one was on the list. Almost gave up on this one when Flowerydaze spotted something unusual and as everybody has said how could we miss it. A great fun cache deserves a FP. TFTC wascox
Spending a few days in the Wairarapa with Talla64 and finding a few caches. We'd searched for ages for this one and Talla was ready to give up, but then I spotted it. I did wonder how on earth we'd missed it in the first place! Thanks for a fun cache wascox.
Found while exploring Greytown. We had to wait for a couple of muggles to pass gz before starting our search. After a short search we found the decent sized cache.thanks for a fun cache
Got lucky here and found it in the first place we looked. Didn't want to linger here too long as it seemed like an odd spot to be parked at, so made quick work of signing the log and replaced the cache.
Many thanks for a great cache and the fun find. Fave point added

This was the third day of a trip with my Muggle wife down to Greytown. I got the entire day to do some Geocaching, so I headed to this area to get a few more. Great containers. TFTC.

Most amusing. Left some trinkets. Took nothing. Cache all safe and back in place TFTC
No joy for me here today. The hedge has been trimmed which made me wonder whether it was definitely still here. Will come back again sometime.
Looked for over thirty minutes in the pouring rain, got very wet but got no success! Rodney
Super klasse gemacht. Nachdem kaari74 schon aufgeben wollte diese"kleine" Dose dann doch gefunden. TFTC
Although we knew what to expect, this was still a fun cache to find, and gets a favourite from us. It did take a wee while to find, until we took the hint more literally, as for us it was about 9 metres southeast of the coordinates, at S41 04.456 E175 26.674. TFTC
Started to panic as it took a few minutes to find this one but then managed to see it and voila, how could we not see this! So good to find such a large container. Thanks wascox, another good one.
Finally it's WENZ Mega Weekend!!
Very cool hide. Had to use our eyes as the gps was moving about a bit!
Up from the big smoke of Invercargill to play with downsouthinv, and meet plenty of other likewise catchers and create new memories!!
