Needid a little stop after the Taihape road, and this one server well. At least we had mobile coverage again. Anyways, thanks a lot.
I dont know what walking on the moon would be like, but I know Ive been very close to experiencing it after a big night on the beers. I can only assume that at times I just float in zero gravity to bed. I definitely dont remember walking on the ground. The area around the hide reminds me of the clouds I usually walk on when Im headed for bed after a session on the sherbets. The ground was spongey and we were bouncing with each step.I thought that I would jump back on to the road using the natural bounce. Note to self: there is no bounce on the bitumen. tftc

23 October 2023 10:36 TFTC MorganEd for placing this cache, number 13067 for me. Heading into the hills for a couple of hours, no problems with the find today.
Thanks for the cache here, and really enjoyed the description
So sad to see how many rural schools are left neglected like this
Cleared a bunch of rubbish from the cache, including food rubbish worst trade I've seen yet c'mon team, keep it green?

Quick find whilst passing by. Thanks for the opportunity to stretch the legs.
Found with Pink Camo Girl.

Headed out for an evening of caching along the Taihape road. Sadly it wasn’t my most successful outing as I had 4 finds and 4 DNF. Still I did get two swims in this boiling weather so pleased to have got out. Sad to see this country school go. Cache all fine. Thanks for the smiley.
Small diversion to here and parked just along a bit. Soon had the cache in hand and a CO signature pathtag, nice one thanks.
On the road at a good time today and with no real target to meet at the far end except for sometime after lunch it was a leisurely admiring view. Still some snow lying in places along the way and some good clear day views too.
The weekend is here and for a change I've got a four-dayer planned with a trip across from Taupo to Napier to have a couple of nights in Havelock North and local area, followed by a trip back across the Napier-Taihape Road to stay at our daughters for a day before watching the football on Monday and then Coming Home, he's coming home, capperz is coming home (football didn't as it turned out! Well done to Italy.
A few nice caches found, not huge numbers so quality rather than quantity. A few more of the PWGT caches as well as some others here and there, thanks to all COs.

Found with Mrs Crockpot whilst driving the Gentle Annie back home to Auckland. Taking the long way home...
As we went on our journey from home to Taihape then on through the gentel Annie to Napier then explored Napier area before heading home again.
All good here and we had lunch just across the road

Travelling with okayness from Ohakune to Hastings today with a few stops along the way. Quick find here & didn't notice the blackberry although we did have to wait for some muggles across the road. TFTC
Area getting a lot of blackberry, but cache still in good condition. School closed (hopefully just for the holidays) so not many people around. TFTC
I stopped, but then it was a constant stream of people coming and going to the school grounds, so I gave up...
On a short trip to HB with tmann421 to hunt some caches
Wonderful quiet area and quickly located the container

First one for the month. I said to myself, noe this weekend. U couldn't resist. TFTC
On a drive to see some snow and picking up afew caches on the way. thanks for bringing us here
A quick easy find once we got there. Our GPS tried to navigate us directly from Pheasant Spot to this cache, but as the road deteriorated, we decided this might not be a wise option, so returned to the main road. TFTC
A quick find with TregearP, who is also known as 'PCW'- pine cone wanderer as she loves collecting pine cones for a fire. This was her sort of location! All in good order, TNLNSL, TFTC.
You had me at pine cone collecting although there weren't many around but logged the cache and all in good order. TFTC
Third find of the morning as I head to some local reserves for some caches. Thank you for placing this cache.
Another find on the great north summer roadtrip with the Banians- a week of travel from Wellington to Auckland via Napier, Wairoa, that secluded road between Wairoa and Rotorua, and almost the Coromandel peninsula.
Yet another school that has faced the executioner's axe and lost. Very unfortunate, a sign of rural decay. Quick find however, TFTC

Found on our road trip to Auckland for a wedding, taking some back roads. Day 2 Taihape to Napier.
Not much happening here today, sent Redants to find the cache while I got the car turned around. SL TFTC.

Another fun find on our caching adventures today. Spotted a dead sheep at gz as we approached so the kids waited in the car for this find. Even though there were no muggles around we managed to fill up the boot of the car with pinecones. TFTC!
Found by the pine. There was a poor dead sheep very close nearby so signed the log quickly and moves on to our next adventure. TFTC
Pretty quick find, thank goodness because the wind was freezing! They are felling and trimming trees around here so hopefully this cache doesn't get disturbed. Thanks for another great cache Paula
Up this way for an Event this evening, time to do some caches up Taihape Road. Thanks for the cache.
The geokids had a nice time here, collecting pinecones and having a play at the old school.
Thanks for bringing us here, what a shame these small country schools are having to close.
What a lovely spot this would have been when the school was open. Found while travelling the Gentle Annie with DIMwits - Mrs DIMwits was first to find this one. TFTC!
While we were on the gentle annie road, we were able to find this cache. Too bad that the school was closed. TFTC
11.11 am. Super day but a bit windy. Pine cones down all around. Sawa bunny watching us. Tftc. Left a path tag.
Shot of gentle annie to grab this one. Took santa badge and left 6/15 taranaki tag. Tftc sl.

We found this cache during our holiday in NZ. We would like to thank all cache owners for showing all beautiful places.
Really enjoyed my drive out into the countryside, thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache MorganEd
WE GOT TO GZ AND THERE WAS A COUPLE OF TRUCKS PARKED UP AND THE DRIVERS WERE HAVING A YARN. WE CARRIED ON TO THE NEXT CACHE AND CALLED IN ON OUR RETURN, THE COAST WAS CLEAR SO WE HAD THE CACHE FOUND AND LOGGED IN QUICK TIME. TFTC
What it does not say on the cache page listing is that the old school here is not a country club, complete with bar and great company. Well worth the drive out but check first that someone's bothered to open up first!!
Quick find. Quiet wee place but had to leave in a bit of a hurry when we saw some cattle being herded down the road towards us, best to stay in front of them. SL Out - a mini salt n pepper shaker (will be great for short tramping excursions) In - a bendy pencil and a novelty hi-lighter TFTC
Nice spot, couldn't stay for long as the cattle were comming up the road (fast) TFTC found with angelndemon
Thought it looked like a school. Nice to be able to break up the drive to Taihape with some caching.
Many thanks
Many thanks
A couple of farmers were chatting at the corner but we soon realised we were heading well out of their sight. Just finishing off the quick search when we heard a lot of scuffling going on up the road and suddenly we're being muggled by a herd of calves! Fortunately they were very eager to be somewhere else and not at all interested in what we were up to. Signed another FTF and with excitement mounting, we headed on up the hills towards Taihape, entering undiscovered territory. TFTC.
