Out in the area training CrackerGirl in a bit of 4WD and took the opportunity to do some cache maintenance as well. The cache was still here unfortunately someone has stolen the ammo box, but the inner container was still intact and all good to be found.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Team Crackers for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

we are learning:as a geocacher, all journeys take a lot longerwe were due in traralgon midday on friday to help set up for a friend's weddingsoof coursewe left melbourne thursday afternoon to make the most of the journeycamped by the waterfall last nightsqueezing in a little hike this morningjust your usual roadtrip kinda stuffwe left the humble hatchback at the track junctiontook the rollercoaster road on footearning the climb in mud and sweatenjoying the peace of the forestthanks for the treasurewe imagine this would be good fun in a four-wheel drivewe suspect our hatchback portable couldn't handle itbut that's finewe are always happy to walk
As much as I wanted to drive up this track it was decided that we will just walk it l mean how hard could it be geez the ole saying that goes I'm getting to old for this shit came to mind but we made it to GZ and found this cache quite quickly and another one ticked off the grid 9 to go thanks to tiz13 for encouraging me to do this cache and TFTC
So today's final mission had arrived and the discussion was had wether to attempt to drive in now that the 4WD tracks were open or wether to hike in. Having hiked the other series, I knew what I was in for and was prepared for the hard slog up the hill. I'm not sure what Kashbound thoughts were but we decided to walk in 1km we estimated would take about 30 minutes, AWITP
It was a hard slog....and after awhile it became evident that driving up would have been risky. Eventually we made it to GZ and we were greeted by the 3 motorcycle lads we had said hello too two hours ago. They commented on it being a nice day for a walk then as we approached GZ one called out "Your warm" lol oh you know what we are doing?
It turns out they didn't know but had accidentally found the cache (possibly while taking a slash) and had all signed it.
So I explained to them what it was and showed them the GC app. Maybe 3 new recruits, they certainly looked like an adventurous group that would love these bush caches. We added our names to the log before moving on to what was supposed to be our last cache for the day.

Found today whilst in the area for Amateur Radio.
The track is closed until November, but is very slippery and cut up.
Hopefully by opening time it has dries out and is not such a mess.

Not one to really keep track of what caches I’ve done , Hunter keeps reminding me I need to log this cache and looking at the map I do recall this location , it was freshly graded and a good spot in the old days when I used to be a real Bogan 4wder in my trusty Hilux

I was planning on caching somewhere this morning, but I still hadn't decided where when I got a text from Smokey Bear. I was instantly in, and didn't even know what I was in for. When he suggested the first 4x4 series and maybe a few others that we both maintain found, I thought it was perfect, especially not owning a 4WD.
Had a great time finding caches and visiting areas in the Bunyip State Forest that I haven't been too. Such a lovely area, and looks like a number of these roads had been maintained recently. 7 finds and only 1 DNF, and worked out the entry points for a few other geocaches.
Smokey found this about 10 meters away from me while I was standing at the coordinates according to my GPSr. Walking towards him, I could clearly see it from 8 meters away, right next to the path and extremely obvious to everyone. This became more obvious when we opened the log and saw a whole heap of non-geocacher's names.
Later when I checked the coordinates, they were spot on. The geocache was hidden better than when we found it in same location.
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers

Myself and a couple of mates thought we would enjoy an afternoon out in the 4x4 and one of us found a container with pad, pen, little tag like thing and a small item that I have no idea about.
We said hello in the pad and I took the tag like thing to research it and are now learning all about this geo cache stuff which none of us had ever heard of before.
Log story short, I can't wait to head out to find more.
Thanks for the introduction to this.
Not sure if we should have taken the tag or not, but all good, will be heading back in the next couple of weekends and will rectify the situation.

This cache has been on our radar for a while and today was the day for our walk. The track was in good condition after recent rain and today’s good weather had brought out a few motor bike riders and 4x4’s in the area. We expected the road to be steep but we were pleasantly surprised by the conditions for walking and how we managed it. The cache needed some airing out so we sat for a while and enjoyed the glimpses of the view between the forest regrowth.
Thanks for the great location and providing the terrain rating we needed nearby to home. We left our path tag. Fav from us.

Dad was out solo this morning. Had the foolish notion to chase a T5 or two for an AHomburg Challenge, but without ladder or yak all he could do was ride Shanks’ pony up the hill.
Departed the suburbs in the wee hours, arrived at base of the 4wd track just on dawn to find the gate firmly locked. Ahh well, the corolla probably would’ve struggled anyway.
Sticky squelchy mud dogged every step and often ended up slipping back down the hill, making the first km the toughest I’ve done in a while. Strangely though I loved every minute of it, listening to the birds calling.
Located a little too easily - the foliage has been chopped back so the cache was standing out proud. A little wet inside and the logbook had gone missing, so signed an address book instead.
Thanks heaps for bringing me out for a great morning’s adventure.

I am so glad that after walking up this massive hill was able to find this cache. I have been up here once before but I must have been a lot fitter because I am stuffed. Thanks for bringing me up here again, I so much love it out here.
We have been told this area is still out of bounds.
We will check it as soon as we can get in.

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Team Crackersfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Found with Geoturtle37, The Tritonz, beckNmonts and micaparamedic. We had been eyeing off these caches for some time, so when we received an invite to join a small but intrepid band for the day we were all over it. The CO was set to join us as well, but a postponement due to rain unfortunately threw a spanner in that plan. The rain stayed away this time around and a great time was had by all rumbling around the Bunyip area. We tackled all but one track in our vehicles, that one was deemed too risky by unanimous vote. There was a bit of slipping here and there, but only one winch recovery required and everyone stayed shiny side up so that is just part of the fun. Thanks Team Crackers for bringing us out here for a great day out. We look forward to hitting the trail and sharing a cold one over a tall tale down the track somewhere.
We had spotted these series quite some time ago but didn't feel that we had enough experience to attempt them on our own. So when we got an invite to join in with others, we were very pleased. Unfortunately, due to the weather, it was called off.
Then we were told that another date had been set so it was on again. We had been watching the weather, and although it didn't seem to bad, we weren't sure if it would be called off again. It wasn't, YAY. We met up with two other vehicles at a fuel stop, struggled our way through Friday afternoon traffic and road words and were soon on the road to adventure. It was a shame that the 4th vehicle couldn't make it (but I'm sure the CO has done these tracks more than once.)
There were some awesome views and great tracks. There was only one that was undriveable, (in everyone's opinion) although an alternate route was chosen for another cache. Considering that there had apparently been rain only a couple of days earlier, we were lucky with the tracks. We only found one of them to be a little slippery but no worries.
A winch was needed in one place but nothing major and no damage or harm done so really doesn't count.
I had a fantastic afternoon out so a huge thank you to our awesome travelling companions for the invite and another huge thanks to the CO's for placing these caches.
Really hope that we can get out to do some more.

In the company of beckNmonts, micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 in 3 capable 4WD's we finally knocked off these 2 4x4 series with little mishap. Mr. Weatherman had predicted much rain but beckNmonts convinced us that he was wrong as all previous days predictions had failed to produce said 50mm of rain that was supposed to hit Melbourne in a big way. Taking her word for it and lets face it, not wanting to have to cancel once again, we met up at a local servo and then made our way in convoy to enjoy a wonderful adventure with great mates testing our skills in the Bunyip State Park. The small amount of rain that had been through here on the Wednesday made one track slippery in spots but we managed to avoid most of it and still claim the hides. Good hints made for easy finds and our team names were all added to the logbooks held captive in their ammo can prisons.
Luckily choosing summer to tackle these 4x4's, Annie was extremely gentle with us as we approached anti clockwise. Parts of the track were damp due to lack of sunlight accessing that side of the mountain but nothing our tyres could not handle.
Thanks very much Team Crackers for the effort put into both series, for us and others to enjoy.

With rain forecast I was concerned that we would again, have to postpone our quest of these caches. However, I managed to convince people that there was not as much rain this way as the news was making out. So we met at the agreed time, minus just one of the parties... the co, of course! (I’m pretty sure they will know they were missing prior to reading my log). We managed to find all the caches, and didn’t have any car mishaps. A slight winching incident, but where there is no damage done, there is no issue, IMO! Thanks so much for placing this series Team Crackers, I had a great time finding the caches today.

Once upon a time I roamed these hills many, many times on my 2 wheeled machine and I knew this spot well, I was able to find all the 4X4 series on said machine back in 2010 which included version 1 of this cache but I haven't been up this way for some time now so when the first was archived and the second was published, it has been sitting here without a smiley face for me for some time.
Today that changed as I headed out with biggles1024 as he was wanting this one for the D/T grid and I was just wanting to find it so that there were all done once again so it made this one a priority.
We arrived at an open gate, Mark pointed the outback at the incline and headed on up, slowly but surely we made our way along the track and the top was in sight.
Once at the top the car was parked and we travelled on foot the rest of the way which was only a few metres to GZ.
Our GPSr's were pointing to an area which had one large tree so we thought that was maybe where it was but we were wrong, after making our way in there, there was no cache to be found, we started looking around this area and at the same time wondering how recent was it that the bulldozer had carved a path through here and down the side of the hill, no sure why but it did, it wasn't until I looked on the right side of the bulldozer track that the cache was eventually found, bulldozer missed it by that much.

**Find #3401**
**Traditional Cache Find #2302**
I headed out early with SteMicMitSar to find some unloved caches, perform some cache maintenance and also find a cache that would contribute to my P81. This was to be my main prize of the day, a D2.5/T5.0 which I needed to fill a square on my P81. The gate at the start of the track was open and I decided to see if my Subie Outback could make the climb. Going very slowly over the erosion mitigation mounds was key and I only went a little too fast over one of them. We kept climbing higher and higher until we emerged at the summit. Sure beats walking. Our indicated GZ was no where near any object that matched the hint and in fact, it took almost 15 minutes of searching before Steve came up trumps with the cache. We thought at one stage that the hide and cache might have fallen prey to a bulldozer, but everything is OK. Now for the trip down the hill.

What was to have been a quick weekend trip to Melbourne to accompany leafotwind on his 3,000th cache find (since I had also recently completed the Victorian Premiers whereigo ) became an 8 day trip because there was a CITO [^] at Traralgon the next day which then led to Mallacoota and the Snowy Mountain Highway [^] since I couldn't legally use the Great Alpine Road as I didn't have snow chains because the boring freeway back to Melbourne and then back to Shepparton didn't sound like fun
The first day, I met my sister in Bendigo as she waited for her semi to be unloaded and reloaded, so we went op shopping in the meantime[:X] From there it was off to Melbourne and the group find of the Victorian Premiers whereigo which had taken me to many spots in Victoria [^] Then the group slogged our way up a slippery, muddy slope [|)][xx(] to get a couple of simple drive by 4 x 4 caches (when the tracks are open) before caching on into the night
I made a find on a previous DNF at Moe then it was off to Clean Up a Creek at Traralgon [^] followed by finding some bloody good caches (both containers and reasons for placement) around the area with leafotwind, NoWorries andAlphaDeltaIndigo [:X], chatting to Crisp image as the group found Wherever I Lay My Hat before Rex and I left the group, walking in the Crinigan Road Bushland Reserve at dusk[^], seeing a huge Dr21 dredger once used for coal mining and now placed at Morwell, finding a tiny grave in the middle of a shopping area , finding my 1st 3D printed cache container and then it was off to the Lakes Entrance area and wandering out on the peninsula[^]
Seeing old RAAF airfields and radio bunkers, seeing tiny country towns and meeting some great people (including an almost muggle woman and her children in Mallacoota where she had previously looked for 1 cache and who may now get into geocaching properly [^]), seeing the sun rise while surrounded by kangaroos and standing on the eastern coast of Vic and chatting with Rollmatrix throughout my time in Mallacoota and Genoa
Spending a few hours chatting with a lovely truckie, Michael [:X], who was on a wood chip run to Canberra as we traversed the countryside in the dark (after I had apologised for slowing down his fully laden rig as Harry crawled his way up a hill ) then I pulled into Cooma for a break and an EC and also found a cache, Southern Cloud, about the aircraft accident and then accidentally ended up at another memorial cache, Southern Comfort, Southern Cloud or Southern Storm, later on in the trip
Seeing brumbies amongst the snow along the edge of the road at night in the mountains in NSW [^], seeing a thermal pool early in the morning with steam rising from it in the cold air and water plants growing up from the sandy bottom [^], seeing the grave of the alleged Man from Snowy River while finding the multi The Man from Snowy River - HCPPP [^] and then chatting to SciFiRulz who I managed to sneak in a quick visit with before heading home and finding The Highest Railway Station on the way
Over the 8 days there was 9 DNFs (although I did manage to find a few on my 2nd attempts ), 1 CITO event attended and a total of 111 cache finds including 3 FTFs
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Out this way for an adventure AND a celebration. This time it was to celebrate leafotwind's 3000th find milestone. It was a day planned over the last few weeks and a perfect day it was. Winter yes, sunny, also yes. What better day to spend with a few caching buddies. There was of course leafotwind as well as AlphaDeltaIndigo, nirgalagrin, Locus Cache and also we had n0w0rries +Wife as well as 3 geomutts.
Gates were shut, not that I could get my geomobile up here anyway. We had to do it the hard way! Wow, Annie really is not so gentle, she makes life hard for all of us. Heart rate maxed out by the time we reached the top at 180. Well, that was fun, with quite a bit of technical stuff, I really did not want a slide Once at the top and after a short break, the cache was soon in hand. Wow, a long time between finds for this one.
Many thanks to Team Crackers for the cache. TNLN.

Be careful what you wish for...
I wanted a good workout today, and when n0w0rries led us to the gate after a drive through the forests, well, there it was in front of us.
Even if that gate hadn't been locked, there's no way we would have driven more than the first hundred metres before having to shift to shanks' pony.
This was not just a physical challenge (though certainly that: I made the mistake of looking at my watch at one point and seeing my heart rate above 170), but also a tactical one, picking the best line up through the deep ruts and slippery slopes. Not so bad that I needed the trekking poles, but close in a couple of spots.
First to crest the hill, I waited for ahomburg, not far behind to catch up before we started the search. The vagaries of GPS signals meant I went slightly one way, and he found what the hint described in the other, for another year and a half of love.
Team Crackers, that's a cracker of a hill. I can safely state that I was gentler on Annie than she was on me. Thanks for the challenge.

On a mission to celebrate leafotwind's 3000th cache with the finale to an epic chase around the state, I found myself riding shotgun in locus cache's infamous Harry, in convoy with the milestone achiever (of course), ahomburg, n0w0rries +Wife, AlphaDeltaIndigo, and sundry canines.
Half of the time, I wouldn't have been able to tell you where I was, but we celebrated in style, with a tree climb or two, a huge workout up Gentle Annie and some fantastic caches on the 4X4 tracks and forest roads east of Cockatoo.

The second main target for the day after celebrating my 3000th find at The Victorian Premiers Challenge. We were here specifically so that n0w0rries could tick off July for a T5 challenge cache he was working on. The fact that the rest of us could do the same didn't hurt, nor did the unlove for the NSW challenge requiring 50 years of it!
I remember walking up the 4wd to Another Thompson View. That walk was the standout worst that I've undertaken after starting to geocache. Although this one beat it for sheer length it was done in the company of geobuddies which made it infinitely easier. Great to have another T5 under the belt. Each and every terrain star was earnt on this one as well as it's nearby companion. Those bloody locked gates!

After LOTW's 3k celebration... The aim was to find a T5 geocache for n0w0rries' challenge. This was the target cache. Reaching the closest end to the geocache, we found gates locked. So all of us prepped to walk 1000m on a 4wd track. For some of us, the hike was easy; for some, it was medium and for some, it was tough. My thighs were sore from a workout at the gym yesterday, so today walking uphill was making my thighs scream in pain! Some rough muddy patches here, not sure if I would bring a 4wd (if I owned one) on to these tracks.
We all got there in the end and had a celebratory hi5! Logbook stamped, jackets off, I tried to cool down, but someone said, there's a geocache less than 400m from here! Did you say, "Just one more"? Yeah let's do it!
More on that cache on its own log.
On the way down from this cache, I was feeling the pain in my knees, but I feel proud that I didn't stop too many times!

Forgot to add a photo of the view from the top of the hill! Got 3 things to cherish after hard work: a geocaching memory with geobuddies, a smiley face and a view!
Found after the leafotwind # 3,000 milestone gathering.
With +Wife, nirgalagrin, locus cache, ahomburg & AlphaDeltaIndigo and of course leafotwind.
Of course the gate was locked, not that it would have made any difference. The track up to the trig has seen better days. No doubt the four wheel drivers and trail bike riders had fun wrecking this one. Aside from that, there were quite a few fallen trees to contend with. I started at a fair pace but by the tim I stopped to catch my breath I wasn't even half way up. Never mind. Persistence pays off and the peak was finally reached.
What a view.
Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here Team Crackers, I'm sure it would have been much easier in a 4wd, once upon a time.

Today tackled the 4x4 series 1 & 2 and enjoyed the journey to this cache. We would not like to tackle this one in the wet, but no dramas reaching GZ today. We enjoyed this series challeging our Geo 4x4. We had great views from here and picked up a TP as well. Cache and contents are in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

My interest having been piqued by the first cache in the series I drove around and parked my 2WD at the Forest Rd/Bunyip Rd junction and strolled up the hill to this one. This really is a rather high mount and the views at the summit were quite impressive. This might even have been my highest altitude find so far [Edit: I checked; it was!], having rarely sought caches beyond metropolitan Melbourne. Also striking at the top was an abandoned and destroyed sedan, across from the trig point. Kinda impressive that it made it up there (Maybe it was dragged!) I was initially unsuccessful in my attempts to find the cache. I decided to reset my brain at The Rocky Bit and had more success upon returning. Again a very well hidden cache here. Thanks Team Crackers!
So overgrown and after a lengthy look we nearly walked away. Decided on one more look and Walla! Found it! Tyftc.
Being very gentle on Annie we walked up to find this little
fellow. Arrived at where we needed to search and after
talking to a couple of bikers the cache was located in a spot
that is getting a little overgrown ,finally TheGGGs got the prize.
Thanks Team Crackers FTC.

Picked up kmps on this beautiful morning and drove out through Neerim past Pedersen Wier in the magnificient Aussi Bush.
Plenty of Wallabies feeding on the side of the road.
Once we reached the start of the Gentle Annie Track, we decided to walk to the top.
What a great walk it is and a very good hide.
A bit busy with motorbikes out here today.

Finally catching up on some logs now that our laptop is home from the computer doctor!
Out for a day drive with hubby, nothing planned, nowhere to be... After driving up through Jindavick hubby was itching for some 4WD-ing.. A quick search had us heading for this series. The tracks were amazing, although a little hair raising in parts... Hubby handled them all with confidence while I held on for dear life! The kids giggled and laughed the whole drive.

Found 2:12:00 PM, whilst out with Muzza on our December caching expedition, to Bunyip State forest. A 4WD expedition this time, so the Wrangler could do what it does best
TNLN, thanks Team Crackers (F=17447 H=129).

Out and about with Biggles Bear #1 in the 4WD, we decided to take advantage of its capabilities and headed for the Bunyip State Forest to do both 4x4 series there. On advice from the CO, we attempted the second series first, then the first series in reverse order, although things didn't go as planned. Depite using the clue, we still had a lot of difficulty finding this one. However, once found, it was a case of "how did we miss that?".
My thanks to Team Crackers for the cache.
My thanks to Team Crackers for the cache.
Found it. We came to this part of the Bunyip on a very wet and windy winters day to seek out a T5 for a 15 year souvenir. Whilst at some times of the year this would be an easy drive up in our ever reliable, go most places geotruck (76P10C), this was not a day from that time of the year!
With seasonal track closures in place we knew that this was to be a hike in, so parking our ride at the Gap we trekked in from the eastern side. Now, both of us are reasonably fit, and normally a 400 metre climb over a smidgin more than a Km would be a reasonable workout but certainly not in the "I'm gunna die" category, that was until we discovered the state of the track.
Start Rant No.1:[:(!]
Message to all, seasonal closures are not in place to keep you out, you are welcome to walk or ride a push bike behind the gates. Seasonal closures are there to protect the tracks from damage when they don't get a chance to dry out and harden up in the wetter months.
What happens if you try to ride your trailbike or drive your 4x4 on these tracks when they are in this fragile state, YOU STUFF THEM UP! By chopping up the surface and turning them into muddy slop, the winter and spring rains washes away the surface leaving bloody great ruts and generally buggering up the whole affair for everybody else until the parks or forestry crews can get in and spend a crapload of our money (taxes) to fix the tracks up. Pretty sure nobody likes paying more tax just so inconsiderate bums can get their rides dirty.
End Rant No.1.
So we plodded onwards and upwards, though the mud and rain, setting small goals like "lets get to that tree"and "lets just get past this next run off" before finally reaching the summit. After catching our breath and letting the burning sensation leave our poor calf muscles, we began our search and after seeking out several likely hides we were soon starting to doubt this cache was still here.
Start Rant No. 2:[:(!]
Why is it that people can not stop leaving rubbish everywhere they go? Surely their vehicle or backpack has enough room to take the empty chip packet or drink can back out with them! I mean it fitted in there on the way in, it didn't get bigger as they ate or drank what was in it!
Lets face it, the scumbags who dump truckloads of crap in the bush are just d#$@heads who should be made to eat what they dump, but most of the rubbish we see in the bush is from people being just plain lazy. Its not that hard, if you drop something or it falls out of the door of your car PICK IT UP! If you don't it ends up having to be being cleaned up by the parks or forestry crews who have got better things to spend our money (yes, taxes again) on. Pretty sure nobody likes paying more tax just so inconsiderate bums can be lazy.
End Rant No. 2
With nothing else to go on, we went back over a few earlier logs and soon resumed our search with an improved plan of attack that soon had the cache in hand. We love to find big ammo cans full of swag, and we're sure our collective 4 would have loved this one if they weren't stuck at school...suckers!
Our journey back to the car was more of the same wet, sloppy plod just with less pain and the pleasure of knowing that we did this taking nothing but photo's and leaving nothing but a signature and some muddy footprints.
Thanks for the adventure Team Crackers, we hope to bring our team back to get the rest of this little series once the weather fines up...

A great day out and a bit of wildlife around. Once finding the right tracks in to the area the beginning was no real issue although there were a few puddles around. Once at GZ we pushed in the bush and got to the right spot and made the find. We completed the signing duties and great to see an ammo can. TFTC
We continued up and got to a steep hill that was deeply rutted which with some damp parts meant we would not get up so double back and picked up the rest of the first series in reverse being Homeward bound (quick find), Annie (certainly well cover log - how did we miss such a large log to start with) and The Rocky Bit (quick find). All logs signs and caches re hid. TFTC

Why is it that every camping location which is accessible by 4WD looks like a tip while the hike-in campsite are normally in a fairly clean condition? Anyway. While my iPhone was pointing me to the big standing tree I had a bit of a look around and found the cache with the hint >> don't trust iPhones. I guess that's what the owner of the phone thought I found further down on the track. It wasn't in any condition to point anywhere anymore.
Thanks and cheers

Well after a great Lunch this was the last cache for the day & after much searching the cache was found but not where the GPSr's were pointing to where it should be so after the cache was found there was a new set of coords taken whilst the log was being signed, then we set off to have a play around some of the tracks & we had a ball of a time.

Great series of caches, reasonably easy drive in dry weather. Had a good hunt for this one, but although the gps seemed to be working more accurately than usual couldn't spot it. Great view though. For en even better view follow a path someone has made down through the forest in a northerly direction (if you follow the caches as directed and park to the left of the trig marker, keep going left and down hill).

Had a magnificent day out in Bunyip Forrest. The main aim was to pick up a few of the 4X4 series (on foot) as well as explore some interesting features I had spotted from satellite imagery (as possible places to hide some new caches).
The original one of these had been on my watch-list almost from the moment I started caching. Was in the area today doing a few others but this was really the one that I came for today. Every way I looked at this it looked like a hard walk to it. Turns out it wasn't as bad as I had expected. It is a really beautiful walk in, but you can't enjoy the views too much, you need to watch where you step coz it is REALLY MUDDY! I slipped over a bit but over all had a ball. Its a real sense of achievement to reach the summit and find the cache.
Thanks Team Crackers for placing this cache here, definitely worth a favourite point!

A great spot made even better by the pair of wedge tailed eagles surfing the wind. Dropped off TB.
Annie was a little slippery today offering the Chief a slight heart flutter and lots of fun! Cache found after the ascent and that means there is a descent coming up because we all know what goes up must come down! Low range here we come! Thanks Team Crackers, having a ball!
Out for a bit of fun geocaching with Earthbound Chief and Co. We decided to head towards Bunyip State Forest and a bit of 4x4 excitement. Cache was not so easily located today as we were put off by the incinerated log out in the open. We did find it though. Loved the comment in the log book. TFTC
I was away 4wd'ing with the Toyota Land Cruiser Club of Victoria this weekend. Otherwise i would have seen this listing and been straight out of the door to head up there and grab it.
If anyone wants another car to go 4wd'ing and caching with them. Then give me a buzz. If i am free i'll be up for it.
Also i remember years ago when i had my old 4'by. Dicko took me up around the area of this cache and we slipped around a lot. Great fun up there.

Found in the company of Alansee, maccamob, Mr. Coffee, Rabbitto, Pprass and Team Crackers, on a little 4WD adventure. The dozer sure made life easier, Annie is a lot easier than last time. Thanks Spook for the cache and driving us around.
Found by Mary & David, in company with Team Crackers, Alansee, Rebel Acts, pprass, Rabbitto and The Coffees, at 1145. We'd visited Gentle Annie a couple of times before, back in 2005, looking for the "Jedi's Challenge" cache. The first time we were able to drive up, but had a DNF. Second time the seasonal closure gate was closed, so we walked up! The track today seemed a lot easier than we remembered, and the area at the top had totally changed, with the trig point that had been in the bush now surrounded by the loop in the track. Did a quick survey of the track we planned to use to the next cache and it, too, seemed greatly improved. Our thanks to Team Crackers.
We found this cache today at 11:45am as the 8th of 18 on our 4x4-2 Bunyip Tour in company of Pprass, Maccamob, Team Crackers, The Coffee Clan, Alansee and Rebel Acts. Wow, our third cache find up the top of this hill and every time, we have come up from a different direction. The first time on Jedi's Challenge in 2006, I walked up the hill from a lower track to the south on a straight uphill track that is now probably overgrown. Last trip in 2008 (can I believe that it's almost 5 years?), we came up from the west in a convoy and I remember much winching up that day and exiting to the east was more a muddy slide than a drive down. Today an almost dry and graded track the ascent from the west was a doddle in comparison and the mostly graded track downhill to the west not bypasses all those rocky parts that caused the winched to be rolled out last trip. Still the company was just as great as the last trip and although windy, it was great to be up here once again. Sorry to see the old cache go but a great excuse for another find. Crickey, did the bulldozer even have a crack at the survey marker? Thanks from D & HA B-A.
Done today in the company of Team Crackers, Maccamob, Rebel Acts, Rabbitto, pprass, and Mr Coffee. I dare say that I can claim a joint FTF on this one although it was by total default! Only my 13th ever. The 'dozer driver must have been having a good time on this lot. And that bush certainly knows how to re-generate.
Found at 12.55 pm in the company of Alansee, maccamob, Mr. Coffee, Rabbitto, Rebel Acts and Team Crackers.
Gosh - fires, bulldozers, muggles - how many ways can a cache be muggled We find it amazing that a bulldozer driver would ever notice what eventually became a piece of junk and look inside it - but it was very nice that he did,
It suddenly became a bit windy up here so it was decided to have lunch at a lower level. The Gentle Annie track that we came up on was nothing like it was in 2008 - even the drop off on one side looked tame this time.
Thanks Team Crackers for replacing the cache.

The Last time we came through here we got a FTF and it was a lot different in the tracks and vegetation, wow how things change in just a short time.
Today we ventured out in the company of Team Crackers, Alansee, Maccamob, Rebel Acts, Rabbitto and Pprass in a venture and seek and no ding trip. The weather was good and the Dozer driver helped us in getting to the cache in good time.
Fortunately my transmission held up to the punishment on this stage as well and another FTF group assault was found and logged.
Our sincere thanks to Team Crackers for this cache and thanks to everyone else for a fun day, and wow I am logging a cache the day after finding it.
