Site visit today. That homeless camp, while concealed behind lots of bushes is just too close to the current GZ. We've had trouble with our previous hides needing to replace the muggled container every few months. For us, the site is no longer viable as a hiding site, therefore we are archiving it.
Thank you to everyone who found the cache and learned a little more about early Surfers Paradise history.

currently a homeless person living at gz, not a suitable location for a cache at this point in time
First one to find it in the new location. Found it really easily, hint was good

With the old hiding spot bust thanks to frequent muggling. We've found a new spot which we think will work. You should be less obvious retrieving and returning the cache.

GZ has been moved to a 'safer spot'. Hint have been updated.
This is a great spot to sit and enjoy the views.

Missing again.
Seems to go missing too many times in this particular spot lately, have located a new GZ for it but need to modify a container.

With the 'stay in your postcode' restrictions eased we took the opportunity for a cache maintenance run and checked on this cache. In checking the hollow, we discovered the container missing, and instead a piece of paper with the name Sophia.
Since I had a spare container, I left it in place of Sophia's note. No sign of the ants as reported. Maybe they were out enjoying the sunshine too.

Up from Melbourne for a holiday at Broadbeach... awake really early because there’s no Daylight Saving so I thought I wouldn’t waste the time and went out caching.
I have found the few caches there are to find in Broadbeach on previous holidays so I headed up this way.
A nice easy find... just look for the ants!
Thanks **petan** for this cache and the history lesson.

Came here in dark on my way back to the hotel, use my iPhone for torch and found a lot of small lizards on the tree. Also many ants everywhere on tree and cache. A quick find here. Thanks petan for placing the cache.
I had to wait a little for a break in the Muggle traffic, but found it fairly easily. TFTC
At bit busier now. Works going on in the park, but far enough away this morning for me to be just out of sight. A nice quick find, but long extraction trying to avoid the ant invasion.
Interesting tree supports nearby.

Called in to check on the cache and it was missing. I had a spare so was able to replace it straight away. New container is a film container.
Please make sure the container is well covered with leaf litter etc,

We don't get down to the southern realms as often as we should so today was a day for a little exploring & smilie collecting around the South Coast regions.
A nice quick find.
The ants weren't happy at all.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
I had also found a coconut, partly dehusked, sitting in the fork of a tree ...
Wondering why it was there I turned to see a man with a wiry old dog looking at me.
It turned out the coconut was the dog's favourite chew-toy & several other trees in the park had tennis balls perched in them which the dog also liked to play with.
Whenever they found a lost ball or somethingelse the dog liked it would be placed in a tree for his next visit.
So far the coconut was his favourite! LOL ...

We found this on our day out today on the bicycles. It was perfect weather for a cycle from the Gold Coast to Burleigh heads with some detours along the way to collect a few geocaches. There was someone sitting on the ground very close to GZ, however with their earbuds in and a brown paper bag with a bottle in it, I don’t think they looked up even once.
We signed the log and then were back on our bicycles.
Thanks petan

Thank you, Petan.
Found 11/09/2019 - RustyMcTruck
Wishing you Peace & Happiness, too.
Be careful though coz there’s a nest of ants guarding it.
Cheers

Girlfriend was in Town, because her mum, wasn't well, got a couple of cache while in the area tftc.
Down on the Gold Coast for lunch today. Made a short stop off here to grab this one on our way back again. Nice spot here too. TFTC
Waiting what seemed like forever for the group sitting at the picnic table nearest GZ to leave - lucky we had brought snacks and drinks and considered this an opportune morning tea break. Left a new container in the same position. Should be good to be found.
Please use a little stealth when finding and rehiding the cache. Hopefully this will give it a little better longevity.
First Qld cache because close to our hotel. Found clue but sadly no cache after a good poke around.
15:25 was the time we found and logged nice tradi on a besutiful spot. Thanks you Co.

2nd find for the day with Giraffe 13. Bit of a walk from the last cache - G’Day from Downunder. But a lovely day for it. Quick find for my Giraffe friend Thanks for the cache.
Walked around close to GZ but finally went back to where we started to re-look . Good clues
Went for a walk before dinner to find the cache. At GZ, met a German lady who told me all about the flying foxes in the tree. It was great! The cache has a brand new log and a pencil too! TFTC and greetings from Canada!
Yep, it was missing.
Yep, I brought a replacement with me

First time back here in three years so thought I’d find something close to the hotel. Couldn’t get much closer! Tftc.
Enjoying the sun before the thunderstorm hits. First cache of the Gold Coast! Brought a pen for once to sign the log. TFTC
After attending the event in Barcaldine we are travelling this way to get home but in a convoluted way. We will spend a bit of time around the Gold Coast and hinterland first. Nice one. Thankyou petan for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area

With an event to attend at Broadbeach in the afternoon, I spent the day caching my way down there from Brisvegas, nabbing some solved puzzles and anything interesting along the way.
I got a bit of a weird vibe in the carpark near by, it seems that people are sleeping in their cars here, and at the table near GZ there were loads of empty soda bulbs where kids have been chroming. So I made the grab, took some pics and got out if there quick smart. Lovely spot though, nice views.

This traditional cache makes find number 5,577. Thanks for placing and maintaining it **petan**.
