Based in Hasting so hired a bike today to check out some of the local tracks plus a bit of a geocache raid big day out, someone said the temp was 28 today sure felt like it. No luck here first cache of the day and first DNF
I was hoping to get out a replace this cache today, but with the very strong winds, I will have to delay it a little longer. Sorry for the delay.
Day Four of the KiwiFruitsNZ/Vamber Xmas road trip saw us head again to collect some caches to meet the requirements for our GIO Licences, and enjoy a great lunch at Black Barn Winery.
Our fourth DNF for the day, though we suspect this one is missing as not only is the cache AWOL but so is the view!

Day four of our geo-cacation with KiwifruitsNZ saw us tackling caches around the Hawke's Bay, and also an enjoyable New Year's Eve lunch at the Black Barn Bistro!
It appears that some work has been put into restoring this area, and the cache has nowhere left to be hidden or found!

We didn't really look properly for this cache, as there appear to have been extensive earthworks carried out, and there wasn't really anywhere to look. We met KiwifruitsNZ and vamber again as we left, and they had fared no better.
Wasn't sure were to look ( Apart from the view ....) .... Luckily Ric spotted it !!!!
Spending a couple of days on Napier and Hastings with the main aim being to get CANZ.
Mr S retrieved this one while Mrs S was taking in the view. There were several people out at the mouth fishing and whitebaiting and another two of three where the cache was but they weren't taking any notice of Mr S. Not sure if they even saw him, they were too busy with their nets. Hope they caught something because it was windy and cold and the sea was pretty wild.
Thanks timbermills for another smilie.

Cool little cache, thanks. Lovely day for a walk and my first time in this area. Going to take my family back for a visit next week.
Found while on a walk with the kids, had to muck about for a while and wait for several lots of muggles to leave the area. Tftc
#5633. Enjoyed the view at the starting point. Seemed a popular place today. Quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Came here a couple of days only to discover it was out of action. Saw that it has been re-enabled so went to redo. Quickly found with good views of the river mouth. TFTC
I had truly forgotten just how wonderful this area is, it truly is a hidden gem in the Hawkes Bay area.

Did not find, though GPS giving pretty good signals today. May need a check on in case the storm damage has allowed it to be muggled. Great walk on a lovely day though. Will try again.
This was the first time our family looked for a cache. We didn't find it, but it was a beautiful day.
I think Netty and I spent more time enjoying the view on a beautiful day than searching for the cache. We hadn't conducted a thorough search by the time a large group of muggles arrived so we moved on to the next cache.
Quick find. Cache is quite exposed due to recent storm erosion at the end of the trail.
A gorgeous day for some caching. The sun is shinning, hardly a cloud in the sky and beautiful blue water. Thanks for bringing us to this great lil spot. A quick find with bang on co ords .

After having stayed overnight in the park closeby we went this time for a walk with the doggies.
The wind is blowing so hard, that a bicycle would end up on the other end. For doggies this was their paradise. Running in and out the water....Great
heee... we recognized this type of cache immediately...a check....yes it is another one from timbermills....thanks for putting so many caches out for us to find.
Unfortunately this one was lying on the floor, next to the tree. Wont' know how long it will stay like that.

Easy find as was wedged in tree as attachment is broken, could do with some camo though. TFTC
Found it together with San Tus. Happy New Year and greetings from Germany. TFTC
4:00pm | Quick find due to poor camouflage. Anyway cache is there, whole logbook is nicely dry, hope that will stay there for a long time. TFTC!
Rather windy today. Found easily, no one else around apart from a few whitebaiters out at the mouth. TFTC.
5646. A quick and easy find on a lovely cycle/walkway. Did this one right under the nose of a whitebaiter. Thanks for the cache and the exercise. Rodney and Iris.
NICE EASY FIND. WE ENJOYED LOOKING FOR THESE CACHES AROUND HAUMOANA, ALTHOUGH WE WERE NOT COMPLETELY SUCCESSFUL AND WE HAVE TO REVISIT THE ROUNDABOUT (MUGGLES EVERYWHERE TODAY) IT WAS A NICE DAY OUT. TFTC
Mrs B spotted this one near the end of our geocaching walk: we had to give it a miss at the start of the walk as there was a muggle with a quad bike getting stuck in the mud very close to GZ. TFTC
Located in the dark before heading back for the night after an evening of caching up on Te Mata Peak

Quick and easy find. The surf was pounding today but we were on the calmer side of things here. Nice wee spot. TFTC
not quite manawatu but a lot of work has happened here to make this now a beautiful and inviting place to visit
Some how my pen carrying friend forgot the pen, so muggins got outvoted to nip back to the car to get one. Lovely little spot and such a lot of work has been done in the area since I can to seek sanctuary too! BTW, how do you lose a vote 1-1!!
It is a very nice place indeed, so we spent some time here, even if it took only very short to spot the cache and sign the log.

A quick find just before the heavens opened up again, so we abandoned the rest for today & made a dash for the car. TFTC
We were soaking in the view, also soaking in the rain! River was well up because of blocked outlet to sea. I like your containers, thanks.
