Day out with my girls, a walk, bit of caching, then lunch and shopping. My 3rd today and 3rd in the kiwi series. Loving this series.
Ended up being a bit of a park n find, but scary place to stop. Easy find when we were able to pull over. And what a day for finding! Tftc!
Nice and dry log found, but do feel pretty conspicuous loitering on that side of the road.
Day caching in Wellington and Mana/Paremata area. #13 Puzzles completed back home in Sydney, some with assistance from the CO. TFTC RogerW1nz
#337.Early finish and a straightforward find for this cache. Parked on side with hazards on and managed to attact a couple of helpful muggles thinking I had car issues. Once I advised I was okay and thanked them. I signed log and placed cache back as I found.Another Kiwi marked off.TFTC.
Wohoo! Another smile on this trail. Many thanks for maintenance etc- all good here
I like these hints as search area is narrowed down. Out for a day's caching to get more of the kiwi painted with yellow smilies. Thanks for maintaining this series.
Nice quick find. Enjoying collecting some of the Kiwi while getting a bit of exercise in for the geokids. Tftc
After a big day cache collecting around Wellington we got back here about 4PM. Our aim is now to collect as many kiwi puzzles before the sun goes down, basically our last opportunity before heading north tomorrow. Some DNFs but this was not one of them. Thanks to all the COs for adopting and maintaining their part of this series.
The rain has stopped. Thought I would nip away from school while I can for a bit of caching! TFTC
Another day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF, JACSTeam and I headed south to Wellington. Lots of rainy caching but still some awesome caches and spectacular locations. Thanks to all COs!!
Day 7: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging, or space saving depending on the log size and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.
Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list - some of the very old caches in and around Wellington and trying to complete Kiwi Geo-art. We are also picking up a few challenges (will check qualifying once home).
Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.
I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

Yeeted myself across the road again for this one, nightmare dodging traffic on the day I went, but made it in the end. Gotta say, doesn't look half suspicious fossiking about that side of the road for a cache, but I made it in the end. Tftc.
Last day of school holidays, thought we’d grab a few more of the kiwi before heading for a swim.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Busy road to be crossing for a cache find. However found and logged. Another smiley face on the kiwi
I'm on a geocaching roadie from Whangarei to Dunedin. I've had lots of puzzles solved for such a long time so geoarts were the main target of the trip.
Now it's time to start writing the massive backlog of logs which is taking a while.
In Palmy area I wanted the shield series and the 20/20 geoart. Then Wairarapa was stickman (which we ran out of time for), the new M geoart and some archived skindo challenges. Wellington was finishing off the kiwi geoart. Nelson I had a few challenges I wanted before heading to Christchurch. It was family time there and perhaps the smile series but time ran out again. Off to Dunedin for the airplane geoart. Then it was time to fly home to say goodbye to my son heading to Denmark.
My friend Supernanny came along on the trip but today she spent with family. I teamed up with 0B80B8 - a fellow team G0LD mate from Whangarei.
This puzzle series I started years ago. Some I solved in September 2015. I collected some at the Wellington Mega in 2018 but time was against me as well as roadworks on Gray's Rd. I had to resolve some as the puzzles as hides had changed since I started solving them. Parking here was a tad dodgy but we dashed over and made a quick and easy find. I really appreciate the effort to keep this Geoart going, TFTC

Was down from Northland for a few days visiting daughter who has moved into a new flat in Porirua. The weather wasn't that flash on arrival day, but the following days were quite nice, so managed to get in a little caching.
The Kiwi Geotrail puzzles were nearby and I had made a point of solving them all in the last month, so they were the prime target today. As luck would have it, fellow Team G0LD member Lis was driving through Porirua today, on her way to the South Island and she still had a few Kiwis left to find, so we teamed up for a few hours, to see if we could knock the series off.
On a roll now, with no DNFs for quite a while. Emboldened by our last parking effort, we tried the same tactic here for another quick find. TFTC

After a false start with a DNF on the nearby cache, this one was a straightforward and easy one and we were on our way. TFTC
Grabbing a few more of the trail today with the studly . A nice straightforward find here, which was good as it was chilly and the grass was wet. TFTC. KTG
Out on the Kiwi GeoTrail again with my beautiful KTG. Only a few more to go before completing the whole series. All good with the cache. Log nice and dry. TFTC
Good thing Hayzz loves me, my inability to stay on task had us walk past this not once but twice
Time to visit a few more of these caches with the ultimate goal to find a golden kiwi. Found the existing container but log was saturated and pages falling out. I happened to have a spare container from the CO so easy upgrade here today. Now has twice the protection and new log. TFTC RogerW1nz.
This one was easy today, nice quick find here, enjoying solving these puzzles, cheers
Found out with TharntheHalken on a KiwiGT blitz. Going around in reverse order. Quick find on a busy road. Log quite wet, but signableTftc!
Have spent last week solving these puzzles with just 6 unsolved. Spending the weekend in Whitby so decided to start collecting as many as I can today. Ended up walking round the whole loop. Noted this one hasn’t been found for 9 months so pleased to get my hands on it. Log all fine. Thanks for the smiley.

Started solving the kiwi puzzles today. Worked out a few to enable us to find a small number on today’s Sunday walk with the geohound. Then drove to Grays Road to locate a couple more. This one was a quick find. #3447. TFTC.
Ticked off another half dozen of these today! Had to be a bit careful with this one because of all the traffic, but there were gaps. Luckily it was a nice quick find. TFTC.
Log book replaced, obviously. Having to enter this log to get rid of the flag that appears in my cache owner dashboard.
I have lost my notebook! When I go on a geotrip I record my finds and notes in a notebook or, as in the case of this big circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki that Taybeedragon and I did over Christmas, in three notebooks. And I have lost notebook number 3 - 29th December onward. Luckily I enter the caches as found on the GPS (helps with avoiding backtracking) so I am using my GPS log to identify which caches I found/DNFed. Alas, however, no cache notes. So it is now March - and I am relying on memory. A fickle thing, memory. I suspect most will have no notes above. Sorry, folks. I mean, I can see the final on the map, and sometimes that sparks a memory, but mostly - no.
Many thanks for a great geoart. I have been saving this for when I can do the whole lot in one day.

Running around Pahatahanui Inlet today to capture a family of Kiwis roaming around here. Captured Kiwi #57. Cheers
Thanks to The Seagnoid for his puzzle solving abilities.
Day 23 - Saturday, 4 January 2020. Wellington. It the Kiwi series at Paramata today thats been on The Seagnoids 'must do' list for some time. Then The Seagnoid ships out. Sadly our 3 week holiday to Taranaki is over today.
Seen heaps, done heaps. Loved it. The Kiwi series is our finale. Cheers

Out and about with RedEcho this afternoon solving the Kiwi Geo Trail. Quick finds for the most part and some that had us scratching our heads wondering where it could be. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Out and about with MightyMicra for 3rd afternoon in a row after solving all of the Kiwi Geo Trail puzzles between us. Quick finds for the most part with a very competitive spirit between us; some had us scratching our heads for a while but got all of today's batch of 12 in 3 hours. TFTC.
This one had a man in a car directly outside it as I walked past the first time, but he was gone on my way back, so I could quickly cross and grab. Last one for this part of the road! Tftc.
Today is the 14th day of our journey to the south island. I had planned to complete the Kiwi Geotrail before we head to Wellington to take the ferry to the south island. Having arrived near the Lake yesterday I was able to pick up seven of the series on our way to the campsite after visiting Rivendell and eating dinner in the Upper Hut area. We spent the night at the edge of the lake and after eating breakfast I started to collect the Kiwi Caches at around 9:30am.
I mannaged to find 55 caches today, 54 of which to complete the Kiwi. It took me a total of 10 1/2 hours to complete the trail at 8:00pm in a rather slow pace.
This was # 11 of 55 caches today.
This was one of the first puzzles I had solved in this series. Initialy I had no luck finding the cache so I tried again on the way back to the car after picking up 2 others down the road. To my surprise a quick find at the 2nd attempt. Tftc.

We had great fun solving these. This one we managed to find a pull over and grabbed it quickly.
# 1561 Team GST has assembled again (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ), for another caching mission. Mission for today was to finally finish the Porirua Kiwi, something I had solved about 5 years ago and have slowly worked towards finishing. Today would bring an end to that work. All up I found 28 caches today, and only 1 DNF, so unfortunately the kiwi is still unfinished but a sight closer than it was. We did the loop clockwise, and I feared for my life with some of the parking places and road crossings but all and all, it is well achievable to visit all 61 kiwis in the space of 7 or so hours. Thanks to the creators and maintainers of this series, it is a fantastic piece of geoart that still brings people to the region!
All good inside here.
All good inside here.
Team GST (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ) got together again for another caching trip. This time with a focus on finding all the Porirua Kiwi GeoTrail. We had a lovely drive around the area over 7-8 hours in which I found 70 caches. The parking at times was quite tricky and crossing the busy road was even worse but we all ended the day mostly unharmed (except for a few scratches from gorse).
I started solving all the kiwi caches only 2 weeks before our trip. Fortunately most of them were quite straight forward and the information that was required was almost immediately obvious.
#17 of 70 today. Container and log sheet were all good here and it was a quick find.

I had a lot of fun, and a small amount of frustration, solving this series. I solved most of them about 5 or 6 months ago but don't often get down to Porirua these days in spite of formerly living in Whitby a long while back.
I had thought that I might get a chance to try to search for some around the time of the WENZ Mega, but it just never happened. And then some of the caches got archived! So before any more could disappear before I found them I decided that a planned visit to Welly CBD to meet some friends was the perfect opportunity to grab some. Having planned which few I would try for, time allowing, I even made notes of the co-ords for the archived ones, which was a good thing as I even found one of them!
So today I set off early to allow myself as much time as possible to get these. Parking was a bit hit and miss, with some of the locations being a few hundred metres away from a safe parking spot but no big problem thanks to the glorious weather I enjoyed throughout the morning.
This one was my sixth find for the day and a very easy one to find. But when opened I discovered that the logsheet was completely filled. So it was back to the car to get a replacement logbook which was placed alongside the filled one in the cache and replaced as found.
To the original CO for placing this series, and for the current CO for the maintenance,
thanks for the cache.

Find # 192. Easily solved but the bigger puzzle was where to park! Managed by sheer luck to park right next to it. TFTC!
Today was the last official day of the Mega.
Plans were to collect as many puzzle caches that we had solved in the area plus anything else that came along.
Most of the puzzles were road side witch was extremely busy so parking in some cases were peoples driveways and balancing on road edges and some we didn't go for as they were to difficult to get to. Another day and we have to return.
Al in all a very successful day. SLTFTC

thanks to the original placer and the cachers who have taken over maintainence of the trail.

WENZ Mega Weekend is finally here... Our big focus for today will be to clear out the Kiwi Geo Art trail around the Pauatahanui Basin. We are expecting some challenges here - narrow roads and lots of muggles. With Gap (of Fap and Gap), NZFlossy, and McJandals...
Sunday: We were a little more relaxed today, since there were no pressures to be at certain places on time... Onto the Kiwi Geo Trail. We enjoyed solving each of the puzzles in this series. Each one provided just the right amount of challenge. What a great variety of authentic kiwiana puzzles...
We managed to find most of the Kiwis in their hides. Some were in a lot better condition than others, and we can imagine how challenging it might be to maintain some of them. We found the speed and flow of traffic, and tight parking made things difficult at times. We learnt to be resourceful and resilient as the day drew on. In all, thanks to each of the COs for your input into this series... Apologies for the cut and paste logs. TFTP and TFTC.

Attending the mega with TeamBOP. Great time to catch up with other cachers and visit Wellington lLots of fun and laughs while finding lots of great caches Thanks to all the COs for providing all the caches and the work that goes into them. Sorry for the generic logs will try to add to them once back home Thanks
Talking with TheWanglers, an age ago it seems; that if WENZ made Mega we should look at taking a daytrip up from Christchurch to visit.....It did; and as it worked out - we could. So here we are. Early morning flight in, and a late afternoon flight out. A day trip full of fun, caches, dodgy parking...and more fun.
Quickly cornered and signed. Cheers.

Solved this series a while ago, many of the puzzles were reasonably straightforward but a few required a bit more work to get the right answer. We came down this weekend to attend the MEGA nearby so planned to spend a few hours on the Sunday in this area to pickup this series. That proved a little more challenging than first thought as we had plenty of other distractions in Upper Hutt and there is a lot more walking involved to grab some of these caches than we had anticipated. We ended up getting around half of them on the Northern side of the harbour (some of which proved to be difficult to find places to park on the side of a busy road) before we had to get back to the airport. Thanks for this interesting series.
There was very little space to park along this stretch of road so stopped at a small beach area down the road and walked back to these 3 caches. Road was quite busy but made my way along the small side strip without problem to all of them.

Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, Philip Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
21st of the kiwi geoart puzzle day with gely57. The kiwi slang for these buildings is so creative. Another one we had missed initially and then we fixed our mistake. TFTC.
Worked out the co-ords with Teahan Family and as we are both over for the MEGA event we tried to complete the series today. Some caches were found in very good condition (being looked after by SAROC) and some that are in need of attention with wet logs and rusty containers. Really enjoyed the series, thanks CO.
I am on a solo geocaching trip. I flew in from Christchurch yesterday. My focus today was my visit to the Dutch Embassy yo renew my passport. Once that was done it was back to geocaching. Concentrating on the Geo art and anything else that grabbed my attention.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

We decided earlier in the week we were going to head towards Wellington instead of the Napier Hastings areas as previously decided to get some caches and get numbers up to be able to collect the Hidden creatures souvonairs. last weekend we got 32 so we need another 68. this is cache number 2 for the day, cache was a nice quick find here today we signed te log and placed it back exactly where we found it. Still not much traffic and muggles so far a great time to cache on such a busy road. Thank you for the puzzle and placing a cache here. we have been meaning to get these caches for a while so today was the day. TFTC now onto finding number 3 cache for the day.
Enjoyed the puzzle and finding the cache was straightforward, although I did have to come back to this one as a police car was parked up close by!
Not very nice biking along this stretch of road, but managed a find, so happy. TFTC
Quick find building up caches for our 100, 10, 7 Challenge. Signed as B&D for expediency. Thanks Cherrys Rule!
A quick easy find in the obvious place but I had to proceed with caution to access it as I had walked round after the event.
TFTC.

its fantastic caching weather!
hubby offered to be my driver, I was thankful as it made him parking while I walked back to get the caches, busy road and are looking forward to doing the rest. thanks for the placement.

Last weekend I had a road trip with CNAH. Feilding to Plimmerton to Ohariu Valley to Makara to Taita/Upper Hutt and back to Plimmerton. We drove past several of these caches over the weekend but the traffic was very heavy and there was no great places to stop. However, determined to not go home without them we returned on the Sunday morning and parked up and decided to walk around the roadside to get them. Having lived my childhood in this area it was unreal to experience the heavy traffic around here. However, this was quickly found and logged and all good. TFTC
#4374. I needed a few caches today for a challenge series I am doing. Hopefully this will be my last round of night caching this winter. Not a fan of night-caching. A necessary evil in my view. Parked close by. Not much traffic this stage of the night. Soon spied with my torch an area worth closer inspection. Missed the cache on the first check but spotted it soon after as there were limited options available for this type of hiding spot. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache gasbottle.
I took family members to Wellington Airport for a late afternoon flight, & found ten of the Kiwi GeoTrail puzzle caches on my way back to Palmerston North. Thanks for the cache, & for the puzzle.
I noticed that the remaining caches in the Kiwi geotrail that I was yet to find were all recently enabled so made it a mission today to pick them up to complete the Kiwi. A short walk from the previous find and a quick find. TFTC
#2589 Making the most of a beautiful Wellington day and clearing up some of the Kiwi Geotrail with bijouxtoo. TFTC!
After a LONG and boring whole days travel just to get to the North Island we were ready to get stuck into this trail that I had solved over 3 and a half years ago now and the first day of our Mega roadtrip. After checking in to our accommodation and grabbing a quick dinner we didnt have much light left and the days travel hit us harder that we thought it would so we didnt get as many done as I would have liked. Most were signed g7+M in purple.
A nice quick find in the dark. Thanks for taking over the cache and keeping it alive

Bit more space here. Left Havelock North at 5am this morning picking up jordiporsche on the way. An overnight stay in welly to grab as many caches as we can including all the kiwi geo art puzzle's. Log signed as b&p.Tftc XboomstickX - adopted by gasbottle. Find # 3180
The school teacher in the car is teaching the others how to count in te reo. Solved these a while ago but had a chance to come and find them in the school holidays. TFTC

Accessed this by walking along the shoreline as the tide was going out. When I got to the right spot I darted across the road and quickly found the cache. Sat on the side of the road in the grass to write this. Now back over to the shore to continue around the inlet.
Found during a morning's caching searching out some previously solved "Kiwi GeoTrail" caches.
This is a very busy road. Found cache. Took longer to return between muggle traffic and kayaker a. TFTC
There's little that passes for parking along this road, so I resorted to HiViz vest and walking the shoulder - not fun
That said, this cache was a nice easy find, so I could move along quickly.

Day #3 geocaching in NZ/ and first day of two spent in Wellington + surroundings, in good company (=vipema, Veke68 & Katsukka = VVK-FIN in the logbooks, most of the time). Had a great time and found a lot of caches + saw so many interesting/beautiful places.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!
Long time dream came true and we could visit New Zealand. NZ Mega was our maingoal and we had time to find others too. We travelled together with Veke68 and Katsukka and had great time. We used VVK Fin (that is vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka) in mostly logbooks to save space.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Finland.
Thanks for the cache.
