Environment changed. Not able to fit a replacement in between other geocaches in the area
Sorry, slipped the net. Am away this week back after Labour Weekend. Will have another go then.
Introduced my 5 year olds school friend to caching, they enjoyed the walk - this was our second of four found along the walkway. It's been awhile since I've been out and this one eluded me somewhat, found in the end. Like others have said the log is soaking wet. I've added a strip of paper and a plastic bag - hopefully this will keep it dry. It might be worth a visit to change containers SL TFTC
Container soon found while out doing this part of the walkway today.
Log extreemly wet, tried the best I could to sign, looks more like a red smudge than my name.
Sorry no spare logs with me

I have lost my notebook! When I go on a geotrip I record my finds and notes in a notebook or, as in the case of this big circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki that Taybeedragon and I did over Christmas, in three notebooks. And I have lost notebook number 3 - 29th December onward. Luckily I enter the caches as found on the GPS (helps with avoiding backtracking) so I am using my GPS log to identify which caches I found/DNFed. Alas, however, no cache notes. So it is now March - and I am relying on memory. A fickle thing, memory. I suspect most will have no notes above. Sorry, folks. I mean, I can see the final on the map, and sometimes that sparks a memory, but mostly - no.
Many thanks for a great geoart. I have been saving this for when I can do the whole lot in one day.

Running around Pahatahanui Inlet today to capture a family of Kiwis roaming around here. Got Kiwi #48 tagged. Cheers
Thanks to The Seagnoid for his puzzle solving abilities.
Day 23 - Saturday, 4 January 2020. Wellington. It the Kiwi series at Paramata today thats been on The Seagnoids 'must do' list for some time. Then The Seagnoid ships out. Sadly our 3 week holiday to Taranaki is over today.
Seen heaps, done heaps. Loved it. The Kiwi series is our finale. Cheers

Another great afternoon with MightyMicra pitting his wits and new Garmin against my old cell phone, still about 60/40 in my favour. Very high muggle area had to be careful. It took a while to find this one and it became a "dohh" moment as it was no longer hidden, I thought it was some plastic rubbish. The log is sodden wet and cannot be written on. I have added some more paper and hid the container in the most likely original spot. TFTC.
Another great day out with RedEcho finding caches round this side of the inlet. Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches.
Number 3 of the series, and the third nice and easy find.
When you update a puzzle cache page with the solved coordinates, it displays on the map at its actual location. Then when you find the cache it goes back to its virtual coordinates - so that means the kiwi is starting to reappear! Can't wait...
Thanks to the hider and adopters and everyone else involved with this puzzle and series!

Well trying to look for this one between muggles but Niteowlnz came through with the find TFTC
Another found a small sample of the trail before heading to the ferry -- thanks for the cache
Today is the 14th day of our journey to the south island. I had planned to complete the Kiwi Geotrail before we head to Wellington to take the ferry to the south island. Having arrived near the Lake yesterday I was able to pick up seven of the series on our way to the campsite after visiting Rivendell and eating dinner in the Upper Hut area. We spent the night at the edge of the lake and after eating breakfast I started to collect the Kiwi Caches at around 9:30am.
I mannaged to find 55 caches today, 54 of which to complete the Kiwi. It took me a total of 10 1/2 hours to complete the trail at 8:00pm in a rather slow pace.
This was # 18 of 55 caches today.
Another puzzle that was solve a few weeks ago. We parked the car and entered the walkway midway walking to one side and then the other picking up 6 of the Kiwi caches along the way. This one was a quick find once a lot of muggle walked past. Very bussy walkway today. Tftc.

# 1558 Team GST has assembled again (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ), for another caching mission. Mission for today was to finally finish the Porirua Kiwi, something I had solved about 5 years ago and have slowly worked towards finishing. Today would bring an end to that work. All up I found 28 caches today, and only 1 DNF, so unfortunately the kiwi is still unfinished but a sight closer than it was. We did the loop clockwise, and I feared for my life with some of the parking places and road crossings but all and all, it is well achievable to visit all 61 kiwis in the space of 7 or so hours. Thanks to the creators and maintainers of this series, it is a fantastic piece of geoart that still brings people to the region!
This one i had a DNF on previously, and looking back, i cannot see any record of it, and it seems that either i thought that both JimmyNZ and I were blind at that time as it had been found just a couple of days prior... and it was a time in my life i was more embarrassed about DNF than I am not... now i advertise my blindness with PRIDE! Anyway today, i was honoured that it was me that found the suspicious rock which was hiding the cache... surely it cant have been THAT obvious last time... although it probably was... happy to have found it though.

I was out and about today as part of Team GST (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ), working our way around the Pauatahanua Inlet finding all the Porirua Kiwi GeoTrail series of puzzle caches, plus a few selected others along the way.
In spite of the recent bad weather, we were lucky enough to have mainly sunshine today although the blowing southerly certainly left the air very fresh at times. I had already found a few of this series, as had Gr33nslime, but for the sake of ease whilst logging, all logs today were signed 'Team GST' regardless of whether we had found them before or not.
This one was quickly found by Gr33nslime, who was left wondering why she DNF'd it previously. All was fine with this container and the logsheet, so it was signed quickly and replaced exactly as found before we headed onto the next .
Thanks for the Puzzle, and the cache. A great way to help me celebrate 2 years of caching.

Team GST (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ) got together again for another caching trip. This time with a focus on finding all the Porirua Kiwi GeoTrail. We had a lovely drive around the area over 7-8 hours in which I found 70 caches. The parking at times was quite tricky and crossing the busy road was even worse but we all ended the day mostly unharmed (except for a few scratches from gorse).
I started solving all the kiwi caches only 2 weeks before our trip. Fortunately most of them were quite straight forward and the information that was required was almost immediately obvious.
#11 of 70 today. A quick find here by Gr33nslime.

A nice quick find here. I'm wondering if there are two caches here because it wasn't a new log and there was no silica as described in the previous log ( but the last finders haven't logged on line yet) . Had a look for another one so I could replace #49 as I think it must be missing but had to abandon that when a group of women stopped for a long talk on the track below. TFTC # 13,735
We were staying in Upper Hutt for the week over Easter break and hoped today was finally the day we finished off the Kiwi Geo Trail. Our first go was in Oct 2013 and we did roughly 1/3, we did some more in Oct 2016 and finally wanted to finish it today. Mum fell over on the path on the way to this one and being tough as old boots she insisted we carried on. She cut her lip and the side of her face and got a nasty deep scrape on her glasses (that had to be replaced) aswell as some cuts and taking abit of skin of her forearm. The older generation sure is tough. Had thatve been me we wouldve been outer there and called it quits for the day. After abit of a sit we continued on here. It wasnt it the first few places I looked so Mum came up and stepped in doggie poos just as I said fount it. It just wasnt her day. Thanks to both the original owner and now the adoptive owner for the effort involved in placing and creating this series for all of us to enjoy.
Found. GPS was bouncing around in this location a bit, made for an interesting search. "Over here! No, over here!" Got there in the end.
Find # 214. Log was very wet but dry right where we needed to sign it. Have replaced with new paper and a silica gel packet to help it stay dry. Found with Aros71. TFTC!
Kiwi GeoTrail Wha Tekau ma Waru (Porirua) was transferred from CaligulaNZ to user SAROC
Took a nice walk this afternoon with my sisters to try get them out of the house. This one was a nice quick clamber after trying to get up slightly further along. Tftc!
Today was the last official day of the Mega.
Plans were to collect as many puzzle caches that we had solved in the area plus anything else that came along.
Most of the puzzles were road side witch was extremely busy so parking in some cases were peoples driveways and balancing on road edges and some we didn't go for as they were to difficult to get to. Another day and we have to return.
Al in all a very successful day. SLTFTC

WENZ Mega Weekend is finally here... Our big focus for today will be to clear out the Kiwi Geo Art trail around the Pauatahanui Basin. We are expecting some challenges here - narrow roads and lots of muggles. With Gap (of Fap and Gap), NZFlossy, and McJandals...
Sunday: We were a little more relaxed today, since there were no pressures to be at certain places on time... Onto the Kiwi Geo Trail. We enjoyed solving each of the puzzles in this series. Each one provided just the right amount of challenge. What a great variety of authentic kiwiana puzzles...
We managed to find most of the Kiwis in their hides. Some were in a lot better condition than others, and we can imagine how challenging it might be to maintain some of them. We found the speed and flow of traffic, and tight parking made things difficult at times. We learnt to be resourceful and resilient as the day drew on. In all, thanks to each of the COs for your input into this series... Apologies for the cut and paste logs. TFTP and TFTC.

Caching the GeoArt trail with purdiepurdie & warfi; we are still at the early part of our trail.
Thanks for maintaining these caches, CaligulaNZ.

Solved this series a while ago, many of the puzzles were reasonably straightforward but a few required a bit more work to get the right answer. We came down this weekend to attend the MEGA nearby so planned to spend a few hours on the Sunday in this area to pickup this series. That proved a little more challenging than first thought as we had plenty of other distractions in Upper Hutt and there is a lot more walking involved to grab some of these caches than we had anticipated. We ended up getting around half of them on the Northern side of the harbour (some of which proved to be difficult to find places to park on the side of a busy road) before we had to get back to the airport. Thanks for this interesting series.
We parked at a small beach area we walked the nice track along this area to all 5 caches - got a lot more exercise than I bargained for along this section of the series. All good at this cache.

Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, Philip Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
Attending the mega with TeamBOP. Great time to catch up with other cachers and visit Wellington lLots of fun and laughs while finding lots of great caches Thanks to all the COs for providing all the caches and the work that goes into them. Sorry for the generic logs will try to add to them once back home Thanks
Nanzie and I solved all of the trail in preparation for the Mega trip, now its time to see how many we can find. Thanks for the trail

13th of the kiwi geoart puzzle day with gely57. Ah, the mighty all blacks - it's a religion of mine! We parked the car and did some walking for these ones in the series. TFTC.
Worked out the co-ords with Teahan Family and as we are both over for the MEGA event we tried to complete the series today. Some caches were found in very good condition (being looked after by SAROC) and some that are in need of attention with wet logs and rusty containers. Really enjoyed the series, thanks CO.
I am on a solo geocaching trip. I flew in from Christchurch yesterday. My focus today was my visit to the Dutch Embassy yo renew my passport. Once that was done it was back to geocaching. Concentrating on the Geo art and anything else that grabbed my attention.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

Enjoyed the puzzle and finding the cache was straightforward, cache and log very wet, but still able to sign
Another beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon to be caching in Wellington. Time to continue with the Kiwi. A quick find. All safe and dry here. TFTC.
Well that was a bit of a search. Not where the GPS was indicating. A bit of geo nose involved in this one. Now completed the series. What fun it was. Not all in one day I have to admit but done. Thanks for the series and the fun. All good here. TFTC
Not sure how we missed this a month ago - b found almost instantly today! TFTC
Nice straight forward find here today. Always enjoy the stroll along here. Lucky today to see a seal along the way. Cache all good. TFTC
Had a quick look, but a few muggles with geodogs meant my search was not complete. I will return!
Found with GLAD-NZ and NZREF. Solved sometime ago but managed to get out to find a few. TFTC
Last time we tried for this one, our GPS insisted it was just below the high tide mark! Today was a different story and a quick find.
Last success on this track today. It was also turn around point. Mrs SoBad was at GZ when someone appeared along the track. Decided it was more discrete to stay there - which it might have been if her dog had not baounded over to see her. SoBad said something vague and the owner of the dog looked quite happy.
Thanks to the CO and to Caligula for adopting this cache.

Today is the day to head back down South to catch the ferry back to the Mainland, but first there are some formalities to take care of at the end of this recent course. With all that taken care of by 10 this morning, and having a G P S bursting with potential stop-offs down the line I set out with all sorts of different plots and plans. As it was I grabbed a handful of traditionals and a smattering of kiwi art puzzles in Porirua harbor (which was rather brown today) I probably ended up driving past numerous other unsolved caches there but that's for another day, or not.
A pleasant few caches and arrived at the ferry in plenty of time for a sleep in the car as the afternoon sun belied the coolness of the Southerly blow.
T F T Cs from all the COs.

#2598 Making the most of a beautiful Wellington day and clearing up some of the Kiwi Geotrail with bijouxtoo. Safely hidden away. TFTC!
A nice quick find. Left Havelock North at 5am this morning picking up jordiporsche on the way. An overnight stay in welly to grab as many caches as we can including all the kiwi geo art puzzle's. Log signed as b&p.Tftc XboomstickX. Find # 3173
A quick find today on my second search for this one. I realised today that I had been searching in the wrong spot last time, but today my GPS took me straight to it. Came here with Team Geocacher Mr. T. convinced that in the rain there would be no muggles around. How wrong could we be! Lots of dog walkers out despite the rain. Tftc. Nice path to walk along.
Short consideration of possible hides while waiting for muggles. Quick find after that. Highly annoying muggle cyclist kept going back and forth but I was hiding in the bushes. Nothing creepy about that.
An appropriate day to do this with the Rugby Test on in town this evening.
DNf'ed it last time, though it was missing at the time I had actually been looking in the wrong place!- GPS was more helpful today and the updated hint helped.
A few muggles but not as busy as at the previous cache I did on this trail today.
TFTC.

Slowly working through our solved kiwi puzzles. We had collected others in this area but this was disabled last time. We took the opportunity to collect today. TFTC
Found during a morning's caching searching out some previously solved "Kiwi GeoTrail" caches. Cache very snug in its hiding place.
#2400. I solved a cluster of these kiwi geotrail puzzles over the weekend so I had some available for my next burst of night-caching. Needed three caches tonight so headed north to Porirua and onto the trail again. A pleasant stroll in the dark to the GZ with my headlamp. Did see one muggle out for a night stroll after completing this cache. The GPS was pointing to an area that seemed unsuited for hiding a cache but checked there briefly without success. Then headed over to check the more likely hiding spots nearby and found the cache in the second place I looked. Nicely hidden. Signed the well sealed logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks for the puzzle which took a bit of effort but was quickly solved once I had the right weblink. Thanks for the cache. Cheers GSEL
sorry people, thought I had sorted this one - obviously still missing. Should be over this way in the next week or three.
My second visit to search out this one, last time I came with team geocacher Mr. T and this time on my own. Widened the search area and had a really good look round. No muggles to disturb me. No luck unfortunately, Oh dear.
Took another look today, despite quite heavy muggle traffic (almost as bad as Lambton Quay but not as bad as it will be there this week!) I managed to catch enough of a lull to do a better search but still no luck.
However I did manage to have some fun, as I was hanging around GZ I was able to nicely disguise the reason for my presence as a dog indicated quite strongly with body language and a few barks that it wanted me to throw its ball for me to retrieve, and the owner consented to me doing so! Once that mission was owner the dog went away happy with the owner so on with the search. However I had to be careful not to be observed by the canoeists on the water!

Had trouble with this one, quite a few passing muggles and where the GPS was pointing suggested somewhere difficult to search.
Will have to come back to this one and I don't mind that as I enjoyed the walk. The buildings south of here are interesting to look at, they have done some nice things with what are often just functional.

Day #3 geocaching in NZ/ and first day of two spent in Wellington + surroundings, in good company (=vipema, Veke68 & Katsukka = VVK-FIN in the logbooks, most of the time). Had a great time and found a lot of caches + saw so many interesting/beautiful places.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!
Long time dream came true and we could visit New Zealand. NZ Mega was our maingoal and we had time to find others too. We travelled together with Veke68 and Katsukka and had great time. We used VVK Fin (that is vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka) in mostly logbooks to save space.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Finland.

Needed a lunch time leg stretch so off to grab another couple of the geokiwi. Quick hunt and find. Thanks for the cache.
I had solved these back in June 2013 and had signed off 12 of them in November 2013. I am now on my way south and have stopped off in the Ngatitoa Domain for a couple of nights before catching the ferry. So it is time to sign off a few more with this and a 18 others on a 8.3km return walk.
Cheers for the cache and series of puzzles.
Cheers for the cache and series of puzzles.
We had solved this fun series of puzzles back in 2013 in preparation for a trip south in September of that year. As it happened we chose to spend longer in the Wairapapa and never made it over the hill to Wellington. The following September (2014) we made a fleeting visit to Wellington, while staying at Turangi. We concentrated on picking up some other puzzles and ran out of time to tackle the geotrail. This September we are back and have made the Kiwi Trail our first port of call.
We decided to drive the trail clock-wise starting on the northern shore just after daybreak. The driver was not looking forward to finding parking spots at each cache, but as it turned out this was less of an issue than feared - thanks to good preparation by the navigator, and to starting the trail early on a weekend day. In all we found 58 of the 61 caches and had a great day. Thanks to those who have taken on this series to keep it alive.
This one had us searching for a while - there were lots of possible hint spots here. Felt a bit odd lurking in the bushes while people walked past. Relieved to finally sight the cache when we extended our search a little.

Firstly, apologies for the generic logs for this series. We were on a long weekend with Pagenz and a hit list of 302 solved puzzles. This art series was a high priority and the puzzles had been solved some time ago. Conscious of safety first when geocaching meant some back tracking as we didn't know the area and wanted to ensure we were safe with our parking. Managed to find some safe places and then walk to a few at a time. Some required emailing the now current owners for confirmation but overall we did pretty well. Thank you to those cachers that adopted this series so it can be maintained. TFTC
Out and about with Team Welsh on a weekend away... lots of fun collecting all the caches in this series. T4tc
Very busy walkway today - just about everyone had a dog (or two) so we were feeling a bit of the odd ones out. Quick find - tftc
Kiwi GeoTrail Wha Tekau ma Waru (Porirua) was transferred from XboomstickX to user CaligulaNZ
this one took much longer than the others today to find. It was pointing in the inlet but eventually found just as about to give up. Logic conquers, not in the water! found on return trip of walk. TFTC and series
Over the Paekakariki Hill Road and a zoom around the Porirua Harbour collecting the Kiwi GeoTrail Caches and anything else that happened to get in the way! A lovely day in this part of the world (my Dunedin based scalp turned a little red!) and a really enjoyable caching experience. Thanks.
Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 16: [red]Wellington[/red]
Yesterday we managed our first geo art: [navy]Zealandia Power Trail[/navy] [:X]
Today the next geo art was the mission of our day: [teal]KiwiGeotrail[/teal]
Solving all these riddles was not always that easy...also was it not always so easy for us to find a parking space
But in the end we could find in almost 8 hours all the caches of this cache series
I would like to thank 'XboomstickX' for this nice geocaching art ,

Together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3BC8B][red]'Dev46'[/navy][/url][/red] I was on a 'sightseeing-tour' through lovely [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green]
During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]
Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches

Quick find. Lots of muggles around but they didn't have any idea what we were doing.
Find #2187. 5.45am start on the bike to complete the kiwi in a day. The journey went very smoothly and didn't take as long as expected. Another scrabble around in the undergrowth between muggles - although I think they've gone home for lunch. SL TFTC
Out on the trail today to knock off some more of the bird.
First time on this walkway. Very pleasant although there were lots of muggles out and about so I had to time my search and finds with caution.

Yet another cache that I didn't log after the Christmas Drive-by event. I'm really not a rugby fan but once I'd found the correct website (there are several, but one was particularly helpful as it had all the information I needed in one comprehensive table) I was well on my way! I'd like to be clever and use some rugby terminology in my log report, but sadly, nothing comes to mind. Scrum? Try? Penalty? Off-side? TFTC!
Mrs Biggles and I had a planned weekend in the Wellington area and were intending to go to the event near here today. At the event it turned out that 2Bulbars was intending to go and find a few more of these afterwards so I decided to tag along and do some more of these together. Thanks for all the effort with the puzzles and the caches. TFTC, Biggles.
Cache # 2,066 - 10:30 pm - My 61st and final Kiwi GeoTrail cache! Had a DNF earlier in the day, so resorted to a tried and true technique to get my cache of the day - grab a GeoTrail one, as they are always spot on on the coordinates. This one involved a bit of walking, though, and would not have happened if the forecast thunderstorms were rolling through the area. Instead it was a beautiful night for a stroll, and found the cache with relative ease. Also discovered a cute mouse and a very dark-coloured hedgehog on the way.
The GeoTrail was instrumental in helping me get to 100 days of caching for a nearby challenge. It has continued to help as that streak has grown - today is day # 536, and I owe a lot of that streak to this series. Thank you. Giving this a favourite to celebrate the end of this chapter. Thank you for a lot of good memories over the last 18 months.

Decided it was time to do some more of this series. Not too many to go. Had time before the Earthcache event so davejey and I came on the train to link up with little blue hen and her geomobile who was returning from babysitting duties in Wellington. Davejey sneaked in and nabbed this one while the chicken and I chatted to two nice women being taken for a walk by a griffin. They had tried to geocache in Hamilton but hadn't managed much in the way of success. May have re-inspired them. TFTCSL
Today, Banian and I went on a trip around the Pauatahanui inlet to try finish off the Kiwi Geotrail. TFTC
We have been a bit slack on the caching recently, and have had the last solved but unfound geotrail caches loaded on the GPS for quite a while now, so decided to tidy up a few more today. A bit cold along the path but still a few dog walkers about. SL TFTC.
A quick find - but a pill bottle rather than an eclipse tin. Confused about whether I had mixed up coordinates with another in the series. Didn't spot an eclipse tin at all.
TFTC!
