Didn't find with NZDi. While all and sundry are in Christchurch at the NZ Mega Event, NZDi and I are having a little geocaching weekend of our own. Yesterday we travelled the length of the Awatere Valley up as far as the Molesworth Cobb Cottage and picked up all the caches we didn't already have with the exception of three of GH6710's caches up the Mt Altimarloch Road for NZDi. We even managed to score a F T F up the Medway which must 'annoy' Marchwood as he was up there the day before when it was listed.
Today we came over with our MTBs and rode around Rabbit Island picking off caches here and there with mixed success. This cache ended up on the negative side of the ledger today probably due to the recent logging operations.
The attached image shows what GZ looks like today, so I would be interested to here the CO's comments on the viability of the cache.
Maybe next time

After staying the night at Edward Baigent Domain in Wakefield. We decided to go do some local caches and then try a wherigo. After that we were heading to Motueka. We found some more caches and then headed out to Rabbit Island. We found some more caches and then completed another wherigo. Such fun. The old fashioned names and terms gave us a chuckle. This was nice and close. We walked out to get a view of the sea from here. Beautiful views.
After just finishing the wherigo nearby then a short stroll to the lovely beach then a wee wonder to this cache. Enjoying our time on rabbit island. Cheers for the cache.
While Master B was taking part in the 6 hour BreakOut Bike Ride elsewhere on Rabbit Island, I took to my bike for a bit of a CacheOut Bike Ride around some of the extremities of Rabbit Island we rarely get to...
My last find for the day as I was now back right beside the Bike Ride route and with riders passing frequently I needed to time my grab well. The tree cover led me a merry dance for a few minutes and there were a few places to be looking in, but find it I did and when there was a gap in the bike traffic. Phew.
Thanks

What a lovely day to be bike riding looking for caches, after a quick look around with paddle chicks help found the cache. Thanks FTC Bum
This afternoon I set off on a cyclocache ride from Richmond to Rabbit Island and back signing solved Nelson mystery caches out of my unfound list. This was the fourteenth stop and although it isn't a mystery cache, I just couldn't leave it unsigned. . Reminded me of the Rabbits Revenge cache near Kaiapoi. TFTC.
Found it during my trip from south of South Island to north of South Island.
Thanks for this cache!:)

A caching trip to Nelson for the Seagnoid and I, G H 6 7 1 0 has a splitting........wood job to do for a friend so had to call off late yesterday. tS and I decided that caching Rabbit Island by bicycle, culminating in the event later in the day would be just the job. Due to a few big days this week I didn't get round to sorting out 2 M T Bs for us so I had to borrow one from work and t S had to use his road bike, skinny tyres and all.
A nice day weather wise with the sun shining proudly and nary a wisp of wind, almost perfect caching weather and after 6 hours cycling we'd found quite a few of Rabbit Island's caches, yay
Along the track to try for any or more of the four caches along this little track. Nice and easy find here and on we go towards the event.

[green] There is an event on at Rabbit Island, so Capperz and I thought this is a good opportunity to cache out the island. Couldn't quite do it, but got pretty close. Our start time got delayed as there was a hiccup with bicycles. I ended up having to use my road bike, skinny tyres and all. Wasn't a problem most of the way, but it sure was for some parts! Got greeted by a fantail here. Nice!
We just about biked past this cache, so had to back track a little. Unlike the previous 2 caches we had found on this track, there was just one place to hide a cache, and even though it was well tucked away, it was a quick find. TFTC.
On a bit of a bike ride from Richmond to Rabbit Island, and almost Mapua (if we had made the ferry). Thanks for the hide.
Found on a trip from Nelson to Rabbit Island on a beautiful summer day. Cache found in the open, but replaced where we think it belongs. Tftc!
A free night before Waitangi Day and so a trip to Rabbit Island before gates closed at 9 pm to clear up some caches in this area. Nice quick find. TFTC
Some of these roads are confusing, TFTC. http://www.geocaching.com/images/icons/icon_smile_cool.gif
An enjoyable walk around the island today and we enjoyed finding a few caches. TFTC
Enjoyed the walk to here with my father in law this afternoon. GPS spinning in circles but he soon found the likely hiding spot. Off to the Sprig now for a Christmas Eve pint.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

Went bush walking since its now raining teaching my cuzzy war geo caching is. Thanks
Nice easy find and our final for the day at rabbit island. Thanks for bringing us here where we would usually never go. TFTC!
We had to walk to this cache. Piggy-backed my Gson. The Gkids enjoyed the forest and hunting for the cache.
Jr Juicy's geosenses had him bee-lining to this cache before I was even aware we'd reached a GZ!
Picked up the Strawberry TB .. Thanks for another fun hunt b&w

Quick find while out on MTB, area still roped off but only short distance to GZ, soon had cache in hand. Left TB that I picked up last weekend on the start of the Heaphy Track.
Nice brisk ride on the geocycle. The cache was intact but lying in the open for some strange reason. Hmmm...... Log signed and cache returned back where it should be. All good. TFTC!!
Quick found on a still day after all this rain we have had it was good to get out and about. thanks.
First of my non law abiding caches today. Had just completed my first circle of searching when bullertrout arrived. Thank goodness for him because he found it where I had previously looked. Just goes to show that a Mothers' look is more than it takes sometimes. Good to hear about all his recent exploits in the Western Isle. TFTC #4791
Arrived at cache site to see isis58 searching.Helped with the search and soon had it in hand
The closure of lots of tracks up this end of the island had us rethinking our approach to this one. We're getting to know our way around this part of the world pretty well. We had a great ride today. Thanks for the cache.
Caching with Sidewaze. It was interesting and magical biking through the forest today - the weather has encouraged the growth of various fungi from the tiny to enormous, colourful to drab. TFTC
Called by today for a quick grab. Left a coin that's been in my swag too long.

SoBad persuaded Mrs SoBad to brave the bike on a trip around the Island today. Certainly brought back memories of the last closure of the picnic areas... The road /track was closed close to the cache as the area is to be logged until September. We picked up the 2 trackables in case the cache becomes less accessible.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A pleasant walk to GZ to blow the cobwebs while the rain held off. Dropped TB. TFTC
Another cache on Rabbit Is is the perfect excuse for a walk before the forecast rain, not that we ever need an excuse to walk here. Left a TB. TFTC.
FTF I was out on the Moturoa Forest Track on my bike yesterday so today I headed off on Shank's Pony instead. A very nice short walk it was direct to the cache. Checked a couple of things and then reached just a little bit further and found it. TFTC, Biggles.
