This is the barber pole of Gary Chimino Hair, a barbershop on the OMI History Walk of San Francisco. "OMI" stands for the combined Oceanside, Merced Heights, and Ingleside neighborhoods in the area.
We found this while attending a christening down the block. Nice bonus! Thank you for the cache

While some shopes have closed their doors in favour of unisex salons, many are doing as good or better than before the change in the hair industry. These establishments are more than just a place to get a haircut, they provide a social function as well. A chance to sit back, have some conversation about anything from sports, cars, or politics.
This shope is located just a few short blocks from our house and has been in business for at least 25 years. When Edd bought it, he changed the name and got rid of the salon name which was added a few years ago. Business is booked two to three ahead.

[^] A very small barber pole located in Don's Barber Shop in the Richard Bolling Federal Building in Kansas City, Missouri. Attached pix has my GPSr hanging on coat rack, with Don taking a break reading a newspaper! Thanks for the fun Locationless Cache!

Located in down town Galesburg IL.
This Barber Poll sits in front of my favorite barber's shop. As I under stand it the poll is older than he and I combined and he's in his 70's. He tells me it's a hand me down from his uncle who taught him the trade.
The pole is too heavy to be simply stolen so it plans to be there for some time. This only leaves me with the looming threat of the old guy retiring

Found this barber's pole on High Street in Ellsworth, Maine. Home of the $8 haircut!
Here is another barber pole in Livermore, CA. just off East Ave. I didn't know that Livermore had more than one barber pole in existance. Thanks for the cache.
We were next door at the Sherman Kendall Beauty school getting the treatment by my sister, who is a student there. Looked outside, and what do we see? They were closed for the holdiay, though. Inside looked just like you imagine it should. Kinda retro, even.

Found this on 31st and Garnett almost next door to my dry cleaners. I am really going to miss the locationless series. I had more fun coming across all those unique locationless and learned so much. Hadn't really considered or thought about how many of so many old standard items that are obsolete nowadays.
This barber shop pole is in Pekin, Illinois. The guy who owns it is named Roy. He has been there for over 35 years.

A barber pole located just down the street from me in Toledo, Ohio. Thanks for the history lesson on the poles! TFTC
This one, found in Pine Beach NJ, won't be around much longer, since the entire plaza is going to be moving in February. It's a bit fogged over, but it still spins.
this was actually kind of hard for me since I haven't been to a barber shop in over 10 yrs. LOL
A barber shop has been on this site for many many years, and until a few years ago it still had its original barber pole on display outside. Well, it did until someone decided to smash it to bits in a drunken haze. The new owner has decided to paint replacements, rather like the barbers of old, than place electric revolving ones.
I have also added a photo of my friend who recreates a 17th century Barber-surgeon, the old title of the barbers as they were a kind of jack of all trades. You should see his barber staff on the left.

This pole has recently been relocated (it used to be across the street...hehe) at Joseph's Styling and Day Spa in Arcade New York.
Joe of Joseph's Styling has been in business in Arcade for many many years (since before I can remember) and recently moved and upgraded to a larger facility (it's always good to see a long time local business grow and succeed).
So good for you Joe! Thanks for keeping the old (the barbershop pole) with the new!
Szuchie.

This is my hairdresser since years.
But I only noticed two days ago that there was a barberpole there, entitling me to log this cache!
Westland Shopping Center, Anderlecht, Brussels region, Belgium.
The gps coordinates were taken upstairs, at the entry just above.

Spotted this Barber Pole on the way to another. Decided to stop at this one in Highland Hts Ohio.
Found this one today on accident. I was pulling out of a resturant in Keller, TX and my wife shouted, "Hey, there's a barber shop... you should get your hair cut!" I looked and what did I see? Yes, a Barber Pole. I took a picture, grabbed the coords and gave my wife a kiss... she thought it was all pretty silly.
Found this Barber Pole in North Omaha, Ne. It looks like it has seen better days.
If my count is correct, this is the 9th log for Jerry's Barber Shop, all in different locations. This one is along Rt. 16 in Greencastle, PA. Did you know that in Pennsylvania, in order to pass inspection, a barber shop is required to display a barber pole? Prices for haircuts may not be visible from the window and a straight razor and strop must be present in the shop. Glass poles cost around $500. Antique and classic poles may run over $2000. That's a lot of shorn locks! #95
I used to get my hair cut here right after I got out of the military. Now I don't have enough hair to worry about a barber cutting it, my wife takes care of it. This shop is located just outside of the Navy Coastal Systems Station in Panama City Beach, FL.
This is my local Barber Shop in Carlton, Nottingham, England. Could only get a side on view due to the sun reflecting of the shop window. Sunny in November is unheard of in England, TFTC. Ken x
Found a Barber Pole at a shop in Huntsville, Alabama. The shop, The Barbers, is in a small strip mall located at the corner of Whitesburg Drive and Airport Road. TFTC!
This is the third barbor pole I found in the ElmGrove area of Wheeling WV this pole is a smaller versions on the ones I have seen here.
We have known about this Barbers pole for many years as we only live a few kilometres away. Finally today I had both the GPS and Camera at hand. The Pole is located ib Berwick a suburb south east of Melbounre Australia.

Bill's Barber Shop in Morrisville, North Carolina displays this barber's pole.
Curt's Barber Shop, Englewood, CO. Found this one on a caching day with TLH - we both had Veterans Day off.
This is in Grand Ledge MI, about 10 min from Lansing were I go to school. This one even spins, oooh, fancy!
Bobcaygeon Ontario Canada Who would have thought a barber pole would be that hard to find? We looked and looked, but it was just by accident that I spotted this one on the way to work. An old house had been converted to a hair cutting shop and, sure enough, they have a barber pole out front.
We went over to do this one while we were experiencing a long wait at the doctor's office.
Thank you for the opportunity!!

This one is on Arch Avenue in downtown Waynesboro, Virginia. Just a short one, but it will do! Luckily, darling son didn't need a haircut because it was closed!
This is a newer Barber Shop in Virginia Beach, VA. Good to see this new shop with an old touch.
Been Waiting to do this one for a while. Located on 5th street in downtown Courtenay, British Columbia.

A little more of a homemade version of the classic barber pole. But a barber pole none the less. It is located in Johnsonville, NC which is near Ft Bragg which explains the boot shine part on the sign. TFTC
This Barber shop is located in Kingsville Ontario. The barber did a fine job of cutting my hair and my mom was real happy..

SilverDime on the square of Richville, Ohio USA at Doug's Barber shop.

This is the Corner Barber Shop located in the Elm Grove section of Wheeling,West Virginia. My wife and I get our hair cut here. This shop is just off the National Road
There are a plethora of barbershops in Austin, Texas near The University of Texas at Austin. Only one can be found with an old-style barber pole: The Haircut Store on San Jacinto. Many students walk by this pole daily on their way to and from campus and their expensive North Campus houses and apartments.
This barber pole is located outside Bob's Barbershop on the Main Street in Enderby, B. C., Canada. The downtown in this community is only 1 block long. Although Enderby has a population of about 8,000 (including outlying area) it calls itself a city. It also has one of the last remaining drive-in movie theatres, which are few and far between, and operates from spring to fall.
Sams Barber Shop. Found this one in Newberg, Oregon while hitting a few local caches nearby.
The Top Notch Barber Shop in Smokey Point, WA is where my husband has gotten his hair cut since he was knee high to a grasshopper. If you're ever in the area stop in and say "Hi!" to Karen.
That one comes from Bowen street in Sherbrooke, Québec. Didn't get a haircut though. I need them less and less now
Here are two barber shops - side by side, each with their poles out.

This was an unusual barber pole. Instead of the red and white (or red, white and blue stripped barber poles common in Japan) this barber pole has a stylized women with her hair making the design around the pole. Since it appeared to be a women's barber pole I decided that this wasn't the right stop for me !. -40-
This is a bit faded, but at the edge of the sign is a revolving barbershop pole.
This barber pole is at MacInnis' Barber Shop in Antigonish.

This one is right by our house, after a couple of benchmarks and a three part multi we captured this one before it got to dark. We didn't realize how few of these are left.
A quaint little Barber shop in California very close to LAX airport. We were there on holiday from New Zealand doing a bit of shopping.

If you are in the area, stop by and say hello to Mike. He is the barber at this establishment in Akron, Michigan, USA. He is my barber.
My wife and I have been caching since 2002 but lately her interest has been perked by the waning to waymarking locationless caches. We had had lunch while doing some extensive cache maintanance hiking. The place was Bear Creek for smoked beef and pork! While there we were upon another locationless (Cigar Store Indian - GC997C) while eating! We came back and got it after idle caching conversation in the truck.
The gist of our barber pole is a little private barber in the center of our southern Maryland village.
We forgot to take the name down but travel by it a lot.
It resides across from near the Post Office in Great Mills Maryland
Coordinates of this pole is at N38 14.222 & W 076 29.902
Thanks for a "jump out at ya locationless"! Picture is attached to our log.
