Given the length of time since last find and 2 DNF in that time, appreciate a cache check.
Thanks

I was in the area today with the main goal of searching for the unloved M7 Light Horse Interchange and some of this CO's streak challenge caches. And of course bike was the best mode of transport. From the recommended parking spot, got to GZ quickly. Found exactly 3 hint objects with one being clearly the closest to the posted coords. Removed all of the built up grass clippings and searched and sweated. Searched broken light nearby as well as a bit further away in case it had been flung by a mower or workman. Still nothing. Given the D/T rating, I'd be very surprised if my search didn't uncover it. Time for a CO check.

#3152- I have had this one on my To Do list for quite some time, but never seemed to have the time to stop and achieve it. Today I had a lunch date not far away, but managed to get away from home early, so decided to kill two birds with one stone- grab the cache and get up my step count.
I parked on the Great Western highway as suggested and followed the path- all fine till I turned off at the bike only gate. Had a cyclist swear at me for being there illegally- at least that was it- he didn't stop and continue to make a deal of it luckily. Quick find at GZ and I was off back to the car. Thanks

#348 - Garmin eTrex 30

This was the only find for today. I parked at the suggested parking spot but having been in the same area before, I simply took the first walking path. I walked around to the top but then realised the walking path didn't continue. I walked back down and realised there was another walking path just ahead of this one (the noted 'Western Path'). I made the long walk, looking out for the noted gate. I came across one gate and opened it but then realised there was no pedestrian access and it was too far away from GZ to be the noted gate. I kept walking, finally came across the noted gate and opened it. I continued walking down the path and came across GZ. The hint came in handy and I soon found the cache which was still hidden quite well from the previous finder. SLTNLN. TFTC.

#1777 (3 of 12 today)

Decided to clear out a pocket of unfound caches west of the Prospect reservoir. Thought I could start with a long walk to grab 7 of them, but that proved problematical and ended with 2 DNFs anyway.
Then drove to other nearby caches - at least I found all of them.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Walked away from this cache from my last find, to get on the shared walking/cycle path. Of course, I walked past an entrance that didn't show up on my map (at S33 48.047 E150 51.173) - would have saved me 800 metres, but I'd have had to cross Wallgrove Road with no lights...

Finally reached the "Cycle Only" section and,,, kept walking. Interestingly on the main path I was passed my a number of bikes. On this path I saw none.

At GZ it was a quick find - the cache was about 75% uncovered, so I spotted it from a distance. All good though, so I completed signing duties and replaced. Then rehid under a bit more cover.

Now to walk all the way back, and more!

Wow! This was a tough cache to get to. One of the more entertaining morning walks I've done. Decided since I was staying nearby, to try walking to this one from the accommodation. May have been a mistake. There is no easy way in from that direction. I did make it, after jumping several barbed wire fences, fording at least 2 creeks (pretty much dry anyway), scrambling up and down numerous embankments, wading through waist high grass and afterwards had to walk back along the side of the freeway. But I got there and found the well hidden cache in a few minutes. Thanks for an entertaining morning adventure, but I don't think I'll be doing it again for a while!

Wanted to get this one for a while just means a 50klm bike ride. Lnsl

These type of caches is making this to be one of the most expensive hobbies of mine to date.
First I bought a small kayak for the river caches, ive scratched my car in mountain firetrail power trail caches, and now I have bought myself a mountain bike for those longer bushwalk trail caches. This cache also qualifies.
Bikes only past this point... doesn't that meet the t5 guideline that if specialty equipment is needed... wheelchairs not applicable?
Anyway after my rant it felt good to be back on a bike after over 15 years. My old one was too rusty to move so now I have to go for more rides to make the most of it.
Also after I had everything I needed for the ride I took off through the gate with bicycles only on it. The wrong one!
I ended up turning off the M7 on the next exit after the light horse and made my way back via the M7 office. Onpy then did I see the gate referred to. At gz with cih I reapised I left my pen behind. I inscribed my mark with a coloured rock.
Thanks for the cache.

Not for the first time in my caching career I'm the first DNF log. I'm sure its there but it just eluded me! No excuses!

I did it on the bike which was great fun all the same. I'll return with a fresh set of legs and eyes another time. Thanks!

Arrived at GZ, took advice from the hint and came up with nothing. Expanded my search and still came up with nothing. The evening ride was nice though, not many people on the path tonight.

On a ride with Altaire we detoured to find this. I've never been so close to so many loud trucks. Eventually found it right where the clue said.

First I have to say that the CN's are great but I did all the wrong things here arriving from a DNF on 60 Days of Caching so arrived along Wallgrove Road and the GPS told me to turn right along a road which I think goes back to the M4. I did not find the suggested parking area but then as I live in Geelong this is way off my normal beaten tracks.
I use this interchange many times a year but the first time the car has broken down right where I needed it to so quickly grabbed the cache, signed the log and beat a hasty retreat back to the car which started immediately, so I was away before the law arrived to ask some awkward questions.
Thanks again Morley196 for placing another cache for us to find.

updated the description, and upped the terrain, It is stated in both the attributes and the description you need to walk some to get this via a constructed concrete walkway , if you chose not to take the walkway don't blame me for the difficulty.

The whole structure if this cache needs to be changed. A t1.5 doesn't require you to walk kilometres jump fences and through long grass. Please add some more info or if their are other ways in, maybe it should be changed to a puzzle cache.

Thought that was a location for a fleet wood Mack film clip.
Not one to respect anything to do with war I read the description for further information and can say that the last paragraph is one of the saddest things I have read.

After driving by this one many a time, finally today was the day. I saw a previous log which gave me some help in finding a place to park. Parked. made my way across the road and onto the cycleway. Jogged and walked up and over until I found the NO ENTRY sign and gate, Hmmm...But I need to go that way. So I did! Walked down and to GZ. Made the find soon after, SL and replaced again. Then went back over the 2 fences and to the car. Glad to finally knock this one off. Thanx Morley, TFTC.

Well without geocachers tool no.31 (fold up bike) would of been an extra 30 mins.
Parked car at Morley's red flag with GPS showing 885m, unfolded bike and off I went. Rode 300m down a dead end, BIG U turn and this time rode past car under M7. Knowing of the hint, rode onto the first patch of ground, looked at GPS and again wrong turn, backed again ,spotted the Parramatta cycle turn off which led me to GZ. Quick find once here, SL Thanks Morley for my daily exercise so now I can sweat in the car.

Did the walk from the parking spot after picking up Hollingsworth. Made it harder than it should have been due to signal strength and blinkers but got it in the end

Parked at the parking spot, and walked all the way to GZ, Find was easy, then had to walk all the way back. TFTC.

5/08/13. 7:38 AM. Cache #810. Current streak: 330 days. I was already parked at the parking waypoint for this one, having just found Hollingsworth, and a puzzle cache before that. A bit of a walk, but it was a nice morning for the exercise. It was interesting reading the sign about halfway down describing what all of the elements of the sculpture parade represented (reproduced in Morley196's cache description); ironically just across Wallgrove Road from the animal quarantine. A little bit further to the GZ location - it was fascinating watching all of the different flyovers and unders from a walking pace. Cache was found easily, signed, then made my way back. TFTC }:)

Lest we forget.

Before attempting this one I checked on Google Maps as the maze of footpaths, cycleways and overpasses looked a little confusing. I determined the correct route and early this morning parked at the recommended spot and made my way south. There were quite a few cyclists out and about.

As I was on foot I baulked when I saw the sign at the turnoff to GZ from the main cycleway. However, not to be deterred, I opened the gate, strode boldly through and soon had CIH.

Despite the proximity of all that traffic, it was by no means an unpleasant stroll and I found the historical context provided by the interpretive signage very interesting.

It’s a remarkable location, thanks Morley196.

Toriaz and I were out for a ride today, and since this one was close we decided to get off the road and go look for this. We managed to get to the right place easily and found the cache straight away. Thanks, Morley

I might have taken longer to find the right spot without bikerbuddy, because I wouldn't have thought about going that way at first.

After we found this one, I looked to see how far the next one was along the M7, but it turned out to be a bit too far out of our way.

Thanks Morley, will get back for the others later Smile

Rode my pushie from Quakers Hill parkway along M7 bike track to get to this one, passing many Lycra cladded riders going the other way and having a lot more overtake me going the same way. Arrived a GZ and took in the hint and soon had cache in hand. Started feeling the affects of being a little unfit and a lot of Carbon monoxide here. So it was back on the bike for the short ride back to QH. Thanks Morley for a great place and cache.
Cheers

Parked on the north side of the Great Western Hwy, just east of the M7. Walked the cycleway, missed the pool gate! Came back for a quick find. Thanks.

28-May-13
Decided it was time to do this cache, parked my car at the suggested waypoint and headed up the path for my long walk. Encountered a gate very early on, surely thus is not the way otherwise I want a 5 star terrain if I'm to walk on the M7! PAF who confirmed I took the wrong entrance, had a chat and missed a call from the CO as I had tried to ring him also about the path I was about to take. Walked past the gate I was suppose to use, doubled back the 10 metres, ignored the bike only signs and walked right up to GZ. SL #855 on streak day #327 TFTC

I took a short walk from the old Wonderland site and after a loop over GZ I was down at the right level.

Once I followed the GPS not my guesses I made an easy find. Even if I had to sign the log with a stick!?!

Was on the return leg of an M7 ride, and stopped off at his one.

Very easy to gain access via a pushbike. Just head through the gate on the northern side of the interchange and coast downhill to GZ.

Quick and easy find. Signed log in the 2TF spot, had a drink and was on my way.

Thanks for another Morley.

Yay FTF was a bit of an epic journey taking the wrong bike routes on several occasions even took a short cut across the M7 which I don't recommend nice walk though and thank you Morley 196 for the lesson it was a very big part of the Australian History and well worth remembering!!
