Failure to answer emails to N.M's and countless DNF's. Are we going to reinstate a container at GZ?

18-Jul-15
Continued from "Round about Oatley". Really spent too much time here until I realised there's a very high chance it's not here.
Even though there is a doggy find, it hasn't been found for over a year.
Needs a cache check or needs archiving.

10-Jul-15
Any chance of this one being replaced please?

17-Sep-14
Searched a long time. Didn't find. Didn't see rubbish, boardwalk being repaired by workman. Melelina suggested we leave.

17-Sep-14
This should have been an easy find, and indeed I think I know where it was probably hidden. Think it's gone.

I came to attempt this cache last month but being accompanied by my sister with a broken rib who was also on the upside of recovering from pneumonia the step access from Jinna Ave was a little too daunting. So finally geotoddler and attached geobump decided we'd give this cache ago today. Thank goodness for the hint! The GPS on my android is useless so by the time I reached the boardwalk I had 517m to the cache....hmmmmm... I almost gave up and just as I was getting ready to head home (much to geotoddler's disappointment) I put my thinking cap up and cache finally in hand! TFTC and the lovely walk out in the summer on such a breezy winters day Smile

We really like boardwalks through mangroves. If you take your time and keep your eyes and ears open all sorts of birds and critters can usually be espied. It was quite cool and shady in this area of our walk though so we did not tarry. Nifty hide and the clue helped us here to a quick find.

18-Jun-14
I'd never been as far as this board walk. Altaire and I stood about contemplating where this could by whilst a muggle and a dog passed us. The most obvious spot was checked and the cache lay in Sir Altaires hand. Nice spot here.

18-May-14
Nice, took me a little while to find it

11-May-14
Nice hide. Took the kids some time to digest the hint.

01-May-14
Wonderful hide & worth a fav point from me,

Good find by my boy, liked the hide.

Found on a nice stroll from the Scout Hall in Glen St (Landlubbers cache) via the roundabout at the end of Oatley Park, returning alond the western side. A recommended circuit with a few caches to be found along the way. I really appreciate the great wet lands / ponding works and the mangrove boardwalk. With the Mrs & Geo-mutts in company, I was just narrowing down the final co-ords at GZ and the Mrs says, "There it is". It reminds me of when you are playing solitaire and someone walks past and says, "black Jack on the red Queen, right there." Yeah, thanks! Oh well, there is no "I" in ......... whatever, I'll claim it. Lovely stroll along hidden paths. Thanks for bringing me back here beaverfox. Used to see a lot of foxes in these parts. No beavers, tho....................

Found it on a beautiful afternoon walk around the park. I was glad to find a pencil inside the container as I didn't have one with me.

17-Mar-14
Enjoyed a nice walk here from "Swamp Wallaby's Playground". Spent a while looking in the more obvious places and then spotted the hide. When I replaced it, it fell all the way down and I had to stick my arm right in to get it back! Luckily nothing bit me! Anyway, I retrieved the cache, bent the wire back into place, and replaced the leaves so all's good again Smile
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

15-Mar-14
scouts had fun

15-Mar-14
I took a small group of scouts on a caching morning today, (which partly completes the scout technology badge) and they found 10 caches around Oatley park.
I only needed to find 3 of them, as I had found all the others previously.
This was the second of the three. The most recent log noted that this needs maintenance, but luckily one of the scouts has thin enough arms, and he was just able to reach the cache container and retreive it.
I plugged the space with a leafy branch, and we reset the cache in the leaves, rather than out of reach again.
Maintenance is still advised, but for now the cache is findable.

TFTC!
Originally we were looking at another spot, as the phone GPS wasn't accurate. Then Percita commented on how it would be a good place to hide a cache in a certain area, turns out thats where it was.

25-Nov-13
Our phones really didn't like those mangroves, so luckily beaverfox and I clearly think alike!
Very clever cache and a nice hide, TFTC Smile

26-Oct-13
Found with "The Neighbs".

Have been twice and could not find it. We had a good look both times. Wondering if it has gone missing? We are new at this though Smile

15-Jun-13
Oh it was found yesterday. Ok will head back again some time

13-Jun-13
I remember coming here in the past for another cache that was nearby. I liked the hiding spot, thanks beaverfox.

25-May-13
I was a little slow to notice the new caches in the area so I missed out on FTF but I had a great late afternoon nonetheless. Nice hide this one, and also a spot I had never visited before so two ticks. Surprisingly, two young boys walked passed as my sister and I were signing the log... I hope they forget all about what the saw and don't come back to muggle it!

25-May-13
Smile I got out of bed this morning when nicksmyname woke me up and told me that there was a new cache hidden near Hurstville golf course so I got up got dressed and strapped myself into the car. We got about 200m from the cache so we walked along the track and eventually got to the GZ. We searched for about 5 minutes when I called out 'hey whats that ...' turned out it was the cache and I was FTF!!!!!

25-May-13
I loved the short bushwalk to the GZ. Reception was a bit erratic due to tree coverage, but there weren't too many places it could be so the cache was soon in hand. TFTC.

24-May-13
FTF with Katsumar! When this came up yesterday afternoon I was sure it would be picked up quickly, but when I got home it was surprisingly still unfound.
First thing this morning I checked again. Still not found. Then all I had to do was wait for Katsumar to wake up and off we went.
This corner of the park was a bit spooky when we arrived. Plenty of mist and mangroves.
Katsumar spotted this first. His eagle eye struck again. Very excited to find a blank log.
Thanks for the South American bead. We left a frog behind. Pretty sure he would love this spot.
Nice cache, beaverfox.
