This area has become very overgrown and it is no longer possible to enter by what used to be the intended route.
Was walking Lost Lochie along the creek trail. Log book was a little damp, signed a repace cache.
Thanks gc8 for the walk

Headed out early with Funsize Manor to beat the expected heat. An easy find. TFTC
Quite enjoyed this one, I walked here from the other nearby cache. Spotted a kangaroo poking it's head out of the long grass on the way to the cache.
Accurate coordinates soon had me at the cache's hidey hole but I missed it the first time as it was very well hidden! However I spotted it the second time around. Unfortunately the cache seems to have gotten wet at some point and the inside is damp and mouldy...the owner may need to perform some maintenance on the cache.

[red]My humble apologies for the late log...[/red]
After living away from home for 6 months, I have managed to find all my caching associated paperwork / notes & photo's so I can (finally) log all my finds... Found this cache home after visiting family in Yarra Glen ...
My sincerest thanks to all the cache owners for their hides & all the effort gone into them & I'm sorry for the generic log... I have seen many beautiful area's that I would not of seen or experience if not for your hides...
Thanks for bringing me here and for the cache...

#8 of 15 caches found today on a Hurstbridge - St Andrews - Eltham bike ride. EuDes spotted a likely hiding spot as we approached the GZ and sure enough retrieved the good sized cache. A nice peaceful spot on the banks and as we left the cache EuDes pointed out a roo heading off int the bush. Thanks gc8.
Having been muggled at the bridge cache, we proceeded here to our turnaround point hoping that the muggles had moved on by the time we returned (they had ). This was a quick find at 14:55 at a pleasantly serene spot.
TNLNSL. Thanks gc8.

Lovely spot by river. A sport we'd never had visited otherwise.

Here in the company of quiet1_au and GJMMelb first on bikes, but now on foot. I'd tried to move a piece of bark with my foot, but it would not move so I was sure there was not going to be a cache hidden behind. Q then moved it and found the cache. Yes, this was a "girl's look", youi were right. That's why I bring my team, so we can actually find the cache. TFTC
After copping some flack for a slightly tardy start to the morning (having had trouble finding all of my cycling gear then needing petrol too) I at least managed to even the score a bit when lochb dismissed the hiding place with a perfunctory toe nudge only for me pull out the cache from that spot! (The opposite ever happens - no, never!... ) hehehe TFTC
Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au. We continued walking from a nearby cache down a small track which soon disappeared. There were not too many spots here so Q decided to carefully inspect a place and found the cache as described below. Thanks gc8

Taking a more direct route than the creek path, I made my way from Short Park Adventure to here. What a great view of the creek. I was really hoping to see a platypus from up here, but no such luck. A nice hide. No swaps were made.
That leaves one more for me to find. Thanks gc8.

Found it quickly but unfortunately forgot a pen so we were unable to hand write a log.
It didn't take long to find thanks to my sister who had already found it. Bad news there was no pen in the box so we couldn't write our names in.
Long, tiring but eventful and successful day draws to an end. Nice wade through long grass...whistling as we walked to disturb any nearby friends. Nothing sighted and the hide was found fairly quickly. Cheers for the cache catch!
Last cache for us today. Normally i hate to read other logs in cause of warnings i dont want to know about...yep snakes! It got me pretty nervous reading this warning as cache info...eeek! Ive let hubby walk first and follwed his footsteps. Kept asking him to keep singing a song lol. I did had a quick peek at the creek which looked stunning. Especially the land slides. Lots of bunnies everywhere and saw even more on our way back...cute! We found the cache....not sure if that was the best place to put it since its on top of a rabbit hole! Took the butterfly token and left a new token. Thank you for the cache!
Caching by bike today with the young daughter. We had a great time riding along this section of the Diamond Creek with plenty of caches to find. Most of them by the 6 yo! .
Geez there sure is a lot of worry about snakes in the previous logs isn't there? Maybe it's the Autumn weather or the fact that I grew up near here and played in paddocks like this as a kid but I was more worried about tripping in a rabbit hole.
Cheers gc8, thanks for the fun.

Was an awesome search! Took about 10 mins. Great spot but be careful of wild life. Lots of kangaroos as well as snakes
Found with Noelle 04. An easy find. After a trudge through inhospitable terrain. Not one for the kiddies. Unless covered from head to foot with protective clothing and with a responsible adult. TFTC.
19/1/2014 11.40. Finally a couple of cool days and no bushfire threat, time for a walk and some geocaching. Another place we've never been despite living in the district. TFTC
Nice hide. Quite a hike though. I found it best to go closer to the creek, less tall grass. Tftc
A pleasant walk along from nearby cache until the last 100 metres, where a little bush bashing and stamping of feet had us at GZ. A quick find in a pretty spot. The return was much easier (we had entered the hard way) Thanks gc8
1.30pm Out and about with echidna44 for the day. We did do not these in order that was advised but it was a nice day for a walk, but the last couple of hundred metres we a bit of a worry. Tried to keep to the water edge for a while but then decided the long grass was an easier option. Once we got to GZ it was a very easy find. We took the tall grass option on the way back which was a lot easier option and had no problems in getting back to the trail.
Thanks for the cache teamG-

A nice walk along the river here although that last 100m or so was taken carefully - making plenty of ground noise! A nice quick find once there thanks gc8.
Found it after a nice walk along the Diamond Creek (so named after a cow of that name who managed to get stuck in it!). After doing some caches in almost manicured environments recently it was good to have to do a bit of a bush bash to get to a GZ . Left a fairy and took a small brass elephant. Thanks for the cache.
A tricky one to get to, involving pushing through a few weeds easy find once I got there though. Tnln Tftc!
As luck would have it My good mate Trailrunning was on Holiday so we decided to do a day time run to find a few caches, it was a great day out, the sun was actually out and the weather warm today.
I was out with my good caching buddy Rebel Acts today in between his work commitments. In just over five hours I collected over 30 caches and Eric a few more. A great sunny day to be out caching. Thanks.

Out on a caching run today heading towards the "31st on the 31st" event with Ahomburg and on the way picked up a number of caches. Fantastic weather for caching today, not a cloud in the sky.
A nice hide after a nice walk into GZ. Thanks for bringing me here today.

Date: 31 August 2013
Time: 9:35am
Find # 3121
Streak: 31 Days
Well, the weekend is here again, time to head out with my geocaching running mate, sedgwickdave to find some caches and to attend the event for the final day of the 31 days of August challenge. Wow, what a fantastic day, despite it technically being winter still, spring has definitely sprung, with a beautiful 20+ degree day and not a cloud in the sky!!.
We parked the car in the nearby court and went for a bit of a walk in the area. We got to GZ and saw some suspiciously placed pieces of wood. A nice sized container.
Thanks to gc8 for the cache. TNLN

The last of the four, we did walk to this one as the drizzle had stopped. A good walk along the creek, and cache not too hard to find. Thanks OzArtek for taking care of it, we put it back as we found it. Thanks gc8 for a very nice caching adventure. Walking back I was surprised to see a very familiar sight on the other side of the creek, but from a different angle. I then realised how even in this pretty spot I was still smack in the middle of Diamond Creek.

Noticed this one was a bit too noticeable (not that people would walk past it), so sort of semi-hid it to keep muggles away. Still obvious to the the Geocacher though. Very nice area out here and so peaceful. Thanks gc8, really enjoyed doing this series.
Thanks for a nice cache. Forgot to log this one the other day but overall a nice cache. Thanks GC8 for this cache
Ah completely forgot to log this find earlier, been too busy, really loving all these new caches nearby
Found @ 16:40hrs.
Started the short walk from Cuscombe Dve where my navigator lodged me.
A nice easy find after the short walk watching out for unwanted natural hazards as suggested.
Thanks gc8.

Still following Baluke around it seems. Nice walk to this one; reckon it would be infested with snakes in the summer.....plenty of those little burrow holes where they disappear for a sleep in winter! A good time to go get this one now...

Routine check on my caches this morning. Found this one in good condition, well hidden away. It was nice to see some kangaroos across the creek.
I had some children with me who had never seen this hide before so I let them find it. Logging this visit on their behalf.
16:48
After a couple of new finds, I still had some time to play, so took the short drive out to the three hides close together in Diamond Creek.
Third and last find in the area, and a nice simple grab after the short walk. It's a shame I've gotta go home and cook dinner; I could happily keep going the rest of the day, and half the night...
Thanks for a fun trio of caches, gc8.

Found this sunny afternoon. SL. TNLN. Hopefully this cache doesn't get washed away the next time the river is full. TFTC.
Gathered this one to mark my longest yet streak of days geocaching. I enlisted the help of a Diamond Creek native to get within a quarter of a mile, then once we got to 200 feet the GPSr started feeling a bit sick. I used my senses and found it quite easily, but it took my companion some time longer. Cheers!
The path was surprisingly trafficked and we wondered if we were in a queue but the muggles melted away once we off the beaten track and over the fields. The GPSr put us right on the cache at 15:40. TNLN
Made hard work of this one! Just wandered off in the direction I thought it would be for some reason, then looked at the GPS and realised I was heading away from it. Took a short cut back only to discover I was on the wrong side of the creek! Took a deep breath ,went back to the beginning and started again....... Was a lovely day for a walk though and I did need the exercise so not a complete loss. Plus I got a smiley
Last find for the afternoon, we were both happy (young geo daughter and myself) as she was able to have swaps with each cache and I was just as happy to find the caches. This one was a nice easy walk in and a quick find and log sign. Thanks gc8 for the caches around town as we have never really been off the main road before. Just another reason that geocaching gets us to look around and at things that we never would of stopped at!
STF @ 1:23 PM.
Having missed the FTF at the nearby new Rabbit Way, I set off for this cache expecting the same outcome... I couldn't see any closer points of entry to this cache so I walked in from Gipson Street where I had parked to find Rabbit Way. After a pleasant stroll in the sun, I arrived at GZ. The cache was nicely hidden but easy enough to find. Extracting the log book I discovered things to be as I expected. After all, if I could walk from one new cache to the next, I had every expectation that Josiey would have done the same.
Thanks to Gc8 for another cache and for putting Trackables in them. I picked up this one too.

I had just found the COs other new cache and thought I had time to drop by here too. I arrived pretty quickly and immediately became concerned that I might be on the wrong side of the creek but thankfully I wasn't. I walked along, gaining some prickly things on my work clothes (but, hell, who cares?) and pretty soon was zeroing in on what looked to be a pretty good GZ. Found the cache and was very excited to claim my 2nd *FTF* in about 15 minutes. Took the wonderful FTF prize, which I might frame and hang on my wall. Thanks gc8 for a very pleasant lunchtime exeunt from the usual boring work day.
