Grrrr one Fernleigh Track DNF for the day. I had a stick with me for general protection with all the muggles and dogs and gangs of youths whizzing past - used it to poke around at the corner post but came up empty here.
We're sure we found the hiding spot for this one, but unfortunately didn't find the cache.
The rain held off, and it seemed as if the storm cell had passed over just north of us.
It was great to be walking on a day that was cloudy and not too hot under the direct sun.
As we walked, we also marvelled and reflected on the work that had been done to create this original Rail Trail. There has been a lot of cutting into the rocks in order to create the Trail, and this would have been such hard work at the time. One can still see marks in the rocks where the drilling has been done.
Logged signed with OlMaLol.
Thanks colleda

I accidentally posted I put the traceable I left here somewhere else. The traceable I left here is AZCNY3. No doubt the person who finds it will log their find properly.

Looks like landcare have been working at GZ. Have placed a new container close by until work is completed.
Cache is indeed gone. It looks like the area may be targeted by council for some area beautification. Will wait and see what happens before replacing.
A DNF for us today... found a potential hidey hole and a green geocache sticker nearby so thinking this one may have been muggled
Took a bit of searching, missed it the first look over. Soon found it when we opwned our eyes. Tftc
I saw 2 other cachers looking for this one when I arrived. It was a quick social distance chat and we were on our separate ways. Thanks for the cache
Bike riding on a beautiful Saturday trying to escape coronavirus craziness. This was a quick find in between other cyclists zooming past. TFTC colleda

We are travelling up from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Redhead, for a short weekend getaway at the Redhead Beach Holiday Park, and grabbing a few roadside “park & grab” caches enroute. On Sunday we will be attending the Geocaching NSW “Newcastle Expedition - Memorial Park” Event at Stockton, then zigzagging our way back down to Redhead in an attempt to log 7 unique cache types (Event, Traditional, Multi, Mystery, Letterbox, Virtual, and EarthCache) on that same day, and gathering any other conveniently located caches along the way. This was the 7th of 12 finds for the day (day #1), and the 7th of 52 finds for the weekend.
After grabbing a few caches enroute we had now arrived at Redhead, and noticed this one at the far end of the street we were about to turn into (to get to the shops) so ducked down for a quick look. Walked up to the Fernleigh Track and made a super quick find in the first place we looked. TNLNSL, discovered a TB, then replaced as found.
We will be stopping at various sections of the Fernleigh Track throughout the weekend, including a walk through the Fernleigh Tunnel, so will no doubt be visiting more of this extensive cache series over the next couple of days. TFTC colleda.

In an attempt to find all the geocaches along the Fernleigh Track, I Strapped on my helmet and jumped on the mountain bike, and off we go. Parked the car at Dudley and headed south, but Colledas hides can prove rather tricky, and I must look suspicious to other riders with some of the looks that I was getting. Tftc, visited TBs and dropped a TB to continue its travels.
Tried to do #10 but couldn't get to it so went to this one instead. 7 of 8. Yes.
We had to revisit the area for another camping weekend and log a few more caches after the OZGeoMuster Mega weekend. It was a great bit of fun and still enjoying the area,
Grabbed this on whilst cycling the Fernleigh Track, Thanks colleda.
(Smashed by Mozzies on several parts of the track).

Weed spraying has killed off all the surrounding vegetation leaving the hide somewhat exposed but cache is still ok.
During the oz muster weekend I rode my mountain bike while picking up caches along the way on Fernleigh Track from Belmont to the tunnel and back,The ride was great and I had alot of fun on here.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing your caches along this trail and providing a top day out.
I found alot of caches on my ride so I apologize for my repeated logs.

Day 3 of Oz Geomuster and we are exploring some of the cache trails along cycleways. Thank you to the cache owners who have taken the time to place and maintain these sites.
A diversion from the OZGM trail for a while to complete the Fernleigh Track series with Darksidedan and BlueIris. TFTC colleda
Easiest cache find on the trail as yet.
General notes: Huge day caching from Morissett to Newcastle with Froggycache and Blue Iris. An early rise to get a good start on the Fernliegh series, and to enjoy the easy flat walk from 20 to 0. Walked through subtropical forest to open eucalypts and marshland. Spent some time finding each cache and even found one that baffled many! Would highly recommend this series (but byo mozzie repellant!). Thanks for the series - we had a ball! TFTC

had a really fun time with my great dad BRYZEE it was a really great place TFTC
Dropped in on the way to have lunch at the beach at Redhead. Must try the Fernleigh Track at some stage, but by bike rather walking. Looks like it would be a mammoth task, geocaching the whole of the track.
Thanks for this cache, colleda. Took nothing, left nothing, signed the log and let the trackable rest.

I'm in town visiting family for Christmas and decided I would walk off all my Christmas food by finding some newcastle caches. TFTC
Not sure I've come across a 1 difficulty before. This was the last one in the series for us today. Will hopefully get back to do the rest next time we are in Aus. TFTC
Cycling my way north along the track. After a little bit of head-scratching I spotted the hide. Thanks for the series.
Found whilst walking the Fernleigh Track from Adamstown to Belmont, with my service dog in tow! TFTC
Stealth mode engaged! Took a few minutes and muggles were whizzing by, but not too long to have CIH grabbed TB to keep moving TFTCSL
Been a while since the kids have been interested in caching so came out today with bikes/scooters. Quick find. TFTC
After having little luck with some other redhead caches, decided to do some more of fernleigh bc why not. Easy find. Tftc!!! #1059
Today my wife (spy79) and I decided to ride the Fernleigh track. Spy79 had done the track before but never while hunting geocaches along the way.
We really enjoyed this series only missed 3 of the (well...) 21.
We'll return with other riding geocachers another day.
TFTC and the fantastic day out.

Contactpete and I decided to go for a bike ride and get the Fernleigh track series. It was due to pour with rain but we thought we would give it a go. Well the day was bright blue sunny skies and we had a great ride.
This cache was good and Pete came up trumps on this one. I grabbed some baby powder out of this one. I will put it to good use! Thanks!
