Found by The Empire + HIn the cool morning light, we arrived at the Pink Lakes in Murray-Sunset National Park, the sun casting a soft glow over the landscape. Having visited the salt lakes near Dimboola before, I was curious to see how these compared. Instantly, they felt more captivating, not just because of the vibrant pink hue, but also due to the remnants of old salt mining equipment scattered nearby, adding a sense of history to the surreal scenery. As we continued our drive around the Pink Lakes, the scenery shifted from vibrant salt flats to low scrubland, dotted with native flora. While rounding a bend, we spotted a few stumpy tail lizards basking on the warm gravel road. Their stocky bodies and short, blunt tails stood out against the sandy terrain. We slowed down to get a better look, careful not to disturb them as they lazily crossed the path. Thanks for the cache Are we there yet!.-M
Stopped here for a chat but none to be seen at this time of the day. All good here Tftc
What a windy day to be out geocaching, no chats flying about today so it nearly had us stumped but we worked it out!
Nice easy find in a stunning location. Always amazes me how beautiful these lakes are. Thanks for the cache.
Day 7 of my holidays today I left Murray Sunset National Park after a wet night and I made my way south. I made it as far as Donald where I set camp up for the night. I managed to find 27 caches today and 2 DNF's today.A quick find on my way out of the National Park.TFTC Are we there yet!
Found It!A quick find here upon arriving at the pink lakes. Then went for a drive around to the other side.TFTC
I found this cache as I was heading back home to Adelaide after the Capital Geobash Mega event over Easter.I was travelling solo again and took somewhat of a zig-zag route, following caches of interest. My main focus was on the non-Traditional cache types, although I did find a few others opportunistically. After a bit of rain the first day after leaving Canberra, its been pretty good weather the rest of the time. The cache and contents were found in good condition. Thanks Are we there yet! for the cache.
Date: March 2, 2024 Time: 5:51 PMFind #14858started heading home after the Mega in Adelaide and victor harbour parkrun via a few more caches.Massive thanks go to Are we there yet! for placing this one.

Quick find. replaced container log fine. First cache of Murray-sunset National park.Out with Mogni for a 3 day weekend, leaving friday morning and coming back sunday night. The plan was to go to Cowangie in Victoria and then head in to Murray-Sunset National Park then head on to Mildura and come back via Rufus River road ( in New South Wales ) to South Australia. Night 1 was in the Murray-Sunset National Park at Mopoke Hut camp ground and Night 2 at Mildura then going back to Adelaide. It must have rained recently in Murray-Sunset since the sand wasn't like fine power as expected and other sections of the National park had bypass tracks around the water filled ruts in the main track. Going around one of the bypass tracks i staked a tyre on the friday but didn't notice it to saturday morning. The stake went right beside the tread and the inside wall of the tyre, the stake was the size of my finger tip. Also turns out that i got a screw in my rear tyre thrusday night leaving work. There was alot of reinflating tyres this trip. The flora change in the national park was surprising but i figured that is due to weather or not the ground was sandy or muddy. When we got to Mildura we targeted the 2 multi's mogni wanted to do and of course they were the ones with 7 and 11 stages. After that we targeted the caches with high amount of favourite points and then left the next day via New South Wales so we could get the virtual at Lake Victoria and some of the older 2003 around the border track. A good weekend away 4x4ing.
Sir_spectre and I decided we needed to get away for a few days, so off to Murray Sunset NP and Mildura we went. Not a huge number of caches were found, but we had a great time exploring the NP. We fixed anything we could. Thanks to Are we there yet! from mogni
Driving around the lakes with [@trodectus](http://coord.info/PR8JTE0) , parked car and quickly had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. We were driving from Adelaide to Ouyen and decided to stop here, have a look at the lakes and do a few caches. We parked nearby, walked to GZ and soon had CIH. Log stamped and all replaced. The nearby lake is almost dry and was looking very dark, no pink colour at all. Nearby we saw a flock of blue bonnet parrots. TFTC.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.

Beautiful hide. We just didn't sign as there were too mummy spidies protecting the treasure. Thank you!!!loved this little spot.
After a good drive from Mildura we stopped and had a chat at this cache. Admiring the landscape and the well maintained tracks. The cache was found in good condition. Thanks for placing this here for us to find!
The_Tritonz, Team Crackers, Geoturtle37, Posums, McLookers, Tomstache, Gemma Sistema, Micaparamedic and I all set off for a fantastic day of driving and exploring. This was our first for the day. The cache was found by the time I made my way over to GZ. Thanks for the cache and the lesson.
After attending the fantastic Murray Adventure- Rocket Lake event this morning we joined forces with The Tritonz, Papi4056. Geotutrle37, Posum, McLookers, tomstouche, Gemma Sistema and micaparamedic for a day of 4wding fun and also picking up a few caches.
This was the first for us. After the recent rains the lake wasn't as pink as it normally is as it had a bit of a layer of mud over it. Fortunately we didn't have to go near the lake and being near the end of the queue of cars by the time we got there the cache had already been found and all that was left for us to do was add our name to the log.
Thanks Are we there yet for the cache and the history of the area.

Picked this cache up with the geofamily as we headed towards the nearby campground for the night. Excited to be in this part of the state! Thanks for the cache.
Heading into the Murray Sunset National Park for the adventure weekend and as I was able to sneak away early from work I was able to find a couple of caches before pitching camp for the night.
I’m not going to mention the 1-1/2hr delay on the Calder Hwy due to road works in 2 spots bringing traffic to a standstill down to one lane.
Thanks VicRoads for the great planning on a Friday afternoon on a long weekend for that Rant over.
I have been in this area before but that was pre caching days and it was great to come back up here for the weekend.
Found my way to Pioneer Drive and soon located this one.
The area looks great after all of the rain during the week and it will be interesting to see the state of the tracks in the area for the weekend.
Thanks Are we there yet TFTC.

This year our plan was to spend our "summer vaction" in Australia.
So arriving on the 7th November we took over the campervan and started our tour from Sydney to Adelaine. On that tour we found a lot of caches. This was one of it.
Thank's a lot to all CO's that placed and maintain the caches here in "Down Under".

Quick find while passing through with the Mount Gambier 4WD club... Managed to get 10 caches done over the long weekend as we drove around Murray Sunset NP and down the Border track.
FerociousFlea, Astronaut99, Goitsy and Tam and BJ were all along for the ride as well. Nice little spot... the lakes weren't as pink as I'd seen them in the past, but nice to see them again all the same.

It is so glary today and hot as well. I am on my way to Murrayville with harrowang (my grandparents), but we are stopping along the way at interesting things which usually have caches nearby. This was one of them and we signed the log at 2.31pm I took a butterfly magnet and left a penguin. It is really hot and dry out here, so I am glad we are not camping this holiday. TFTC Are we there yet! We still have quite a way to go!
We don't fancy camping out here in this hot (36degrees) and humid weather, but there was plenty of traffic heading off to do that. The Lakes were showing off their pink hues today, but hard to get a good photo because of the glare. SL with Ava from Beavar at 2.31pm Took: butterfly magnet Left: penguin and Just dropping in Orrsome Croc TB for a rest at Pink Lakes. #4293 TFTC Are we there yet!
Found this one during our travels around the area on our recent road trip. Love this area. TFTC.
Easy enough find, Geohubby spotted the location before we even stopped the vehicle. TFTC
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

My mum used to do a week long ride through this park every year with the Melbourne Trail Riders Club, who still do this ride. I hadn't been here in 20 years, and after a lot of research and safety planning, undertook a solo expedition here by myself to retrace Mum's steps, who passed away a few years ago.
Found this in the land of phone reception, a nice quick find on a gorgeous day.
Cheers for placing these!

One could drive to GZ but that wouldn't be as fun as parking at the lake view point and walking 600m or so. Tftc
A long weekend and another trip with the geo 'rents and geobro'. What a cool way to spend Easter
Headed for Albury for 2 nights and then Bendigo for 1 night and we took each day as the caches came. A turn here, a turn there, a dirt track here and there and miles and miles of bitumen [^]
LOL, I've just seen one of geobro's cache logs and it reads very much like mine
Although he forgot to mention that he not so kindly shared his viral germs with geomum and I! [xx(]
Today (day 4) I found 26 caches and had 2 DNFs
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
Geomum doesn't like sand so it took some convincing for us to get into here this evening but the tracks were all good and the caches were found

A lot of miles were covered, many sights seen, lots of laughs, mirth and merriment during the trip. Oh, we found a few caches along the way as well. Day 4 was going home day.

This was day 16 of our trip out of Sydney to the southern states of Victoria and Tasmania. We decided to go and look for the two caches available in this area as we were camping there for the night. It was a very quick and easy find. Sad to say there was no trackable to be found in the cache when we were there. TFTC.
Decided to take a short detour on our way south to have a look at the pink lakes - which were not that pink today. Another reason to this detour was of course to find the two available geocaches.
Spending the Xmas holidays at Murrayville found this cache while visiting the beautiful Pink Salt Lakes. sl thanks Are we there Yet, for the cache. there was No travel Bug in the cache.
Day 3.4 of my 2100+Km 4.4 day road trip.

This was one of the caches I found on my travels.
It was another great day for caching, with the first signs of summer in spring. (Bring it on.)
After staying in Ouyen over night, it was a new day and also there were caches to be found.
I soon had the cache in hand and the log was duly signed.
