Stopped for a quick search for this cache. GPS jumping around so there was lots of fence to choose from. Have to be honest that multiple DNFs over the last two years did reduce my enthusiasm to spend a long time searching. Would be good if the CO could confirm it’s still there.
On a trip to Rotorua today for the weekend left eanganui at 7.48am after doing a couple of itber caches first in tbe area. Cache was all good was a quick find. Thank you for placing a cache here we havnt been along this road before great views and a bit windy for me. Noe to vpntinue our jpuney.TFTC
This looked very familiar and we thought we might have found another cache here on a previous holiday in NZ. We read the information boards before searching for the cache. Thanks for the very helpful hint. Soon found. SL. TFTC.
As i was up in Whanganui for a couple of days i decided too check out a few caches i had not looked for, those i had failed at and some newer ones. I drove up here and soon had the cache in hand thanks to the hint although i went the long way in but shorter route out. It is nicely placed . and will get a fav point from e Thank you for this cache and another smiley face.
In Whanganui for the afternoon to find some more caches. Second time here, soon had cache in hand and return as found. Thanks mjmnz for the cache.
After a DNF when I last passed by here four years ago it is very satisfying to tick this one off. Found after an enjoyable day tramp around the Atene Skyline Walkway on a lovely Spring day. There were 17 in our group from the Manawatu Tramping and Skiing Club Thursday trampers. Just my carload stopped to look for this one so we had four people to hunt it down. My problem last time was looking behind the fence as instructed in the hint. This hint really needs to be updated. Knee height yes, but in front of the fence now. The coordinates are good but it still took a few minutes to find this tricky little hide. Yay!
So glad to finally make the find!!!
Once signed got back to the car and noticed I did have a spare log to replace the full one, only one the way home my blonde moment caught up with me that I hadn't signed the new log but rather the old log I now have, took photos of both sides and sent to Co, also attached in photo. Thanks for the placement.

Out with Red Roaming as we tour NZ, having a wonderful time on these Islands. another lovely sunny day. Log signed with our initials (DD & RR). apologies for my lateness in logging this cache.
We stopped here to stretch or legs and have some lunch and to look at the site in general. what a neat hide, which took a little bit of finding. MTFTC

Cache found after a rummage here and there, definitely no need to go behind the fence! Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer helping her celebrate having taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

Only just finished logging the 100+ caches from the weekend and am shattered. But now to start on the ones we desperately grabbed last Tuesday to qualify for the Skindo 250 finds in February! Thank god for working part-time. Coerced hubby to come and put the pedal to the floor. I should be at home getting ready for going to Wellington tomorrow for work. Never enough time! This took too long. Finally read back in the logs to see it had been moved. The hint should be updated. It is knee high and not being too far from the end we didn't get all scratched up in the bushes. We were stoked to find a 1.5 L bottle to use to get some water for a cache we had to pass over on the way here. TFTC
Team Welsh and I were quite determined to find this cache - and our persistance paid off. T4tc
GPS was all over the place and in the end we followed our instincts and the cache was soon located. TFTC
3.30pm. A quick find today. This is our third attempt here so it is good to have found it at last. Coords were spot on this time but the clues are a bit misleading. There was no need to go behind the structure. The height is more at knee high than waist. And if that is a bullet I wouldn't like to try and fire it!
But this deserves a favourite point for all the trouble it has caused us.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

I have placed a new cache in a slightly different spot. I would like coordinates if you find it as the cell ph ones were not too accurate. I will go out again and check when passing. Please read description as information has changed slightly.
Logged with GCDroid. No one else around so managed to have a decent look but nothing to be found this time.
We're fairly sure we failed to find a cache in this location some years ago, and unfortunately today was a repeat performance, although we did find two pens lying on the ground near where we expected the cache to be.

Took us some time to find this cache but after checking every square inch the gpsr told us to look and finding nothing I decided to check further round the back of the structure, we finally spotted the container neatly tucked away, the coord are slightly out but it isn't a problem if you're prepared to spend a little time actually thinking about it, the log is now full so needs replacing but other than that all is well, sl and raf, tftc . A little over 2 years ago when we drove this road last we reported a DNF here, so today was time for a re-look.
For a while we searched and searched, then saw something - we had been seriously over-thinking the hide. We found a pretty standard micro container - maybe if the owner has concerns over the number of disappointed customers, they may wish to add to the hint a bit with the container type, and height of the hide - but maybe the mystery is intentional.
Thanks for the hide, it highlights an interesting tourist stop that otherwise travellers could zoom past unaware, which is exactly what geocaching is all about.

Sorry didn't find this one today... will come back another time and look again.
A few muggles about but that didn't prevent me making a fairly extensive search with no result. No matter... Another day.

We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 2 - Wellington to Tongariro National Park
We left Wellington in the morning and drove up north, exploring some interesting spots on the way, mainly along the coast.
This one we didn't find
Thanks for the cache.

Quick stop on the journey home from the Central Plateau. Nice to get into some shade on a hot, still afternoon!
The Parapara - a roadway that holds many memories for me. So, happy to be cruising southward on SH 4 once again. A quick stop at the junction and across the road to inspect the information boards.
When I was a young lad I cycled as part of school group from Wanganui (it was without the 'h' in those days) up the River Road to Koroniti where we stayed. It was quite an adventure and an experience that is still easily remembered by me.
Mostly a straightforward find, as per coordinates and hint, but it did take a bit of eyeing out before I had cracked it.
Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Decided it was time to re attempt this one. Spotted the cache much easier this time.
Appreciated the colour variation, would have been tricky if they were the same.Even so I went back & forth several times.Cool hide, thankyou.
This one took a 2nd attempt, first time was a failure but got to have a read up, so yay learning!
This time Hyjynx and myself were more diligent and got the hidey spot sussed out.
Veiwing from different angles helped here, logging was done and off on our way we went.
Cheers for the placement mjmnz

Up from Wellington and today travelling from Taumaranui back to Palmerston North via Pipiriki, grabbed a couple of caches on the way. Took a while to find but I had the area to myself, cache owner must be very tall. SL TFTC.
TFTC! Was a bit higher up than the hint suggests but didn't take long to find
A weekend road trip of epic proportions. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I plan to carve our way through the Waikato, Manawatu-Wanganui and Taranaki Regions while collecting an assortment of caches for various challenges we are working on. Should be a fun excursion...
The iPhone gps was all over the place and took a while to settle. In the meantime, a couple of groups pulled into the information booth and disrupted our searching flow. Gap eventually spotted a barely perceptible cache clue to put this one to rest. TFTC.

Another weekend caching with Squirrel Nutcase, due to the kilometres we are travelling this time a over night stop in Stratford was needed. Number off D/T Ratings and old caches was our mission.

A quick find for this nicely hidden cache. Great spot for a cache which also provides river info for our caching travelers. TFTH.

Searched around for quite some time before getting a helpful hint from Tommygun9. Finally located it and signed the log book. I think I would have been still out there searching if not for the hint. FP for the hide.
Out on a caching expedition with SiderosNZ. This one had us all searching for a bit until Mrs G spotted something , and then it seemed so obvious! TFTC
A good hide, took a while to find but Megan from Geodatum noticed something to give it away, this one takes a bit of perseverance. TFTC
August dot day and hunting those elusive last couple of souvenirs and therefore achieve the seventh. On an afternoon caching trip with tommy gun 9, spud nz and hunter hillson and the weather was the usual story, four seasons in one day, or everywhere you go you always take the weather with you. Luckily the rain held off and we were able to find all of our successful cache finds in dry and pleasant weather, for Winter anyway.
Coming off the River Road and a few large fat rain drops briefly threatened but came to nothing. TG9 made the find of this well concealed cache and signing duties were gratefully made. I found the other cache previously here I think it was called Information Corner
T F T C mjmnz thanks for providing this welcome break on our journey today

We all looked in the likely spots before expanding the search area. As the rain threatened to finish the day off for us I decided to have a look where I thought it should be before yelling "OK, who checked this area?!" upon spotting the cache and then a telltail sign of it.
Nice hidding spot and very well done, if a little trickier than it needed to be out here.
Found with SpudNZ, Capperz and Hunterhilson.

A small group of us headed over to Wanganui and surrounding area for a few caches today. Hoping to add to our August souvenir challenge and to our D/T matrix. We started searching for this one just as a shower threatened. Took us a while to locate this one but got there in the end. Thanks for the cache and the smiley. Found with Capperz, Tommygun9 and Hunterhillson
Got here just as the heavens were opening up. Spent a bit of time searching for this one, must have passed it a few times before Tommygun finally spotted it the well hidden cache. Found with Tommygun, Spudnz and Capperz. Luckily the rain stopped just after this one so we were able to carry on with our Whanganui caching mission. TFTC!
Found this cache last week on Tuesday after my 4th visit. Forgot to log it in. Was a quik find after all. Tftc
Found this a couple weeks ago on the way to ohakune for the mardi gra! Had visited this cache before but was unable to find. A more decent search this time left us with the cache more or less directly in front of us where we had searched last time tftc:)
Headed south with C&D, for a full weekend of caching, with the first cache being found at 6.00pm Friday night and finishing with an Event in Hamilton at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon. Both of us had certain caches we were targeting for the Geo Licence series, as well as finding anything else we driving past, or near. All up we found 165 caches, travelled just over 1700kms and had around 5 hours sleep.
All in all it was an EPIC adventure, exploring in and around the Whanganui to Dannevirke area. We found some great caches along the way and saw some great sights. Thanks to everyone for placing all the caches.
Soon found this one once we got the GPS reading a low number. TFTC.

Heading south for a bit of a caching trip in the company of HKCB both of us endeavoring to know off a chunk of the requirements for the Geocaching License Series (different stages, different requirements for each of us), so what better excuse for a road trip.
Between 6.30pm Friday and 1,30pm Sunday I collected approx 140 caches (HKCB=155) and many of these needing to be a great distance from home, so little sleep, so much caching
Some figures for the trip were
1/. approx 1700 kms
2/. Caches mentioned above.
3/. some very memorable caches in Wanganui
4/. lots of laughter and lies
5/. 4 hours sleep
after a fruitless search up the road this one was next and soon found
thanks for the placement

After looking for over 40 mins I think this cache had been muggled. Only thing that correlated to the clue was a nail. That may have had the cache tied to it?
This one made us feel a little uneasy. Not the cache itself, but the actions of someone who turned up while we were there and who sat in their car watching my wife intently while she read the information on the boards. They eventually did a U-turn and headed away but the relief was short lived as they almost immediately returned and sat directly behind our car with their headlights on it. They continued to sit there until we had returned to our car.
OK, so it was nearly eleven at night and we were wandering round with torches. It's dark, what are we supposed to do? Still, I managed to find the container and sign the log. Thanks for the cache.
