On another mission for caches today, this time with ThatDarnBear as driver and UnicornLex to make sure I don't collect too much random stuff along the way Tftc
Today the Lolly Scramble series is my target. I'm with MacPacMum and while I find them she performs any maintenance required. Most are in excellent condition, with some needing fresh logs and baggys, and an odd few that need replacing altogether. It's great to have a power trail where all the caches are themed containers, and each one has had so much time, thought, and effort put into them. Thanks for keeping this trail going over 10 years MPM.An awesome cache. There is one similar in the North Island near Levin. Cache was visible when we arrived but made sure it was hidden again after signing. FP for this one.
Fence line a lot shorter than it used to be,but cache still there. Logbook replaced.

I've heard of these, I think, but not sure if I have tried. Probably similar to liquorice though, so wouldn't be my cup of lollie.
An interesting take on them at GZ ️️️
Kia ora! Paldies!
Thanks for the cache, M&Ms!

A quick easy find in an apt location, with the interpretation of the hint differing from our original thoughts. TFTC
Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip. Of course there were many other solved puzzles that we collected as well.
This was our Big Day out plan where we'd planned to get as many caches as we could. Unfortunately we just fell short of our target as we lost track of the exact number of finds. Good preparation and a fantastic team to work with made this an enjoyable and successful day. We'd completed the Fresh Breath, the Smurfs and the new Skelly series. This line up of lollies was our next target caches.
I am a great fan of lollies. This was such a cool little series all with nicely themed hides. Another really appropriate gz and hide. I don't like aniseed but liked the cache. Thanks for the effort to make them all fun

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei on Wednesday avo. Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list.
Today looked like being the best weather for our trip, despite a heavy thunderstorm overnight. We had a Big Day Out planned, with a perhaps optimistic target of finding 300 caches in one day. Working together well as a team, with a driver, a navigator and a jumper, we made good progress, but in the end, the bigger distances between caches, that we hadn't anticipated, meant we ended the day a bit short.
A fun day though certainly, and sincere thanks to the GeoArt & Trail CO's, and others, for placing and then maintaining such large numbers of caches so well. A testament to your dedication to Geocaching was the very low number of DNF's during the day. Apologies for the mostly generic logs, but be assured your efforts were truly appreciated.
I found this one in the appropriate hint location

Northland's Team Gold (0B80B8, Liz Crew, DaffyNZ) are in Christchurch for a few days collecting all our solved puzzles and other cache types as we drive past. This is our "Big Day Out" to collect as many caches as we can in a day. Sorry for the generic logs. Thanks for placing the cache. We are loving every cache we locate that adds to our tally for the day.
Found it. Nice camo. Soon located. TFTC

A quick trip to the area for a few more caches and some unfinished bissness.
So today we get the last of one geo art and start a new one .
Let's go have some fun .
First we in get some practice in and pick up a sweet treat or two or three .
After this lot I think I will be sick and need a dentist appointment.
Always loved a lolly scramble.
Now I'm getting hungry and I could do with a bag of lolly to snack on .
Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.
Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!
Thanks for the hide

We were camped up a few ks from this end of the road so mrs rattll decided to go for a bike ride and see how many of these lollies she could polish off.
I did about 48ks cycling and gobbled up about 28 yummy caches.
Thanks for putting this fun series here.
I used to love eating the aniseed wheels as a child

Typical. Spend a week down south with the family visiting the outlaws, and ChCh bakes. Get back .. about 40 caches shy of where I want to be for the year, and it rains. I guess I have a jacket... They say you don't have to be mad to Cache, but sometimes it helps.
Logbook full and wet. Cheers!

Headed off to collect the lolly scramble trail on a windy day in spring. I note that the pine trees are covered in pollen which was upsetting my hay fever so I did not collect all the caches in the series. I very much enjoyed the creativity that was put into these hides and all were very much in the theme. Found this one a lot quicker than I thought considering I had read the wrong hint from my list. A brilliant use of the existing "artwork". TFTC.
A trail of 'not chosen' caches! Never have they been so easy as these tonight!
Having landed just on dusk we lost light so quickly... omg it's never been so dark before anywhere! The local traffic was busy and fast, can only imagine the lack of anything to mess up your car like good and wombat here gives the confidence on the road!
The local people very friendly and helpful to check if we were okay, all explained and then off into the dark. So many cool original containers and logs. Most in okay condition a few quite wet.
Trip log: When cheap flights presented the opportunity to go to NZ with GreyHams, who was keen to get the 5 2000 caches and the web cam I was of course very keen to tag along. I didn't want to miss out on that... Equally as keen for those caches myself and the first chance to get the passport out in a long time and head overseas while we could. Covid Happenings of course did put the trip in doubt and a last minute effort from GreyHams to get the flights changed and it was looking like this might actually happen... until I arrived I truly didn't think it would!
The cache list was quite simple, the 5 2000 caches and the webcams. Of course we did look at others as we travelled, types, DT, not chosen which were in abundunce and caches of quality, if your cache made our list it had a quality we needed. Many thanks for your cache that helped guide us along our way.
Certainly it was a memorable time, barefoot 500 plus metres across a mud estuary of shells and crabs was more fun than it should be. As was pushing through wet thick high flax or tall wet grass across to the caches. But the most memorable would be the fog, the thickest, most relentless fog but it provided some stunning scenery at times and was just crazy.
I loved seeing all the chinese takeaways that did fish and chips, the perfect hedges and a deserved shout out to Indian Zaika for its great food! Certainly with the fog and rain it was an interesting trip and we got quite drenched at times, it hid a lot that NZ has to offer but 'it's a caching trip' after all so it ticked all the right boxes and was very enjoyable regardless. Huge thanks to GreyHams for letting me tag along while he did all the planning, booking, driving and sending in the answers for the caches... as always!

Trip log:
International travel!!...OMG it feels good. Grabbed some cheap flights and anxiously waited for some outbreak to derail the plan, but that amazingly didn't happen. Sure, I had to scramble and reroute our trip via Brisbane & Sydney as we were originally going through the plague pit...aka Melbourne, but we still made it.
Having done most of the North Island, it was good to finally have a crack at the South. 5 year 2000 caches and a webcam, thats a nice little haul. Sure, some of the year 2000 caches involved bush bashing....in the rain/fog/mist...but we got them all. We had lots of other little targets like getting all our types/sizes/DT, NZ in particular has so many 'Not Chosen' size caches, super rare back in Oz, so we made sure to get as many as possible. If you are reading this, its because this cache had a quality we were chasing.
As always, the Earthcaches and the Virtuals took us to some really cool places, the Steampunk HQ and the boulders being birthed at the beach being the highlights. My favourite cache though would have to be the one where we had to walk 500m over a mud flat, dodging shells and crabs with our bare feet.
This trip will be remembered as the 'fog trip' as we saw a lot of it, which meant we saw little else. Oh, that and how every Chinese takeaway also doubles as the fish & chip shop....its a thing!

Aniseed wheels were one of my favourites too, as a kid I remember trying to shove the big wheels we used to get in my mouth and try not to slobber when I talk - such were the good old days!! TFTC

Just couldn’t figure out this one... road workers nearby so decided to leave it for another day
Having a tiki tour around Canterbury and after lunch in Oxford had some fun caching for a few hours. Had fun doing about half the lolly scramble for the day...some were easy, some a took a little more searching. A few prickles got me and long grass + pine needles made me itch but a fun way to spend the afternoon. Tftc
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.
With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
We have another one of those punishing plans to cache until we drop - An early morning start with the hope that we'll finish at a reasonable time... From South Christchurch, we took Highway 1 and crossed the Waimakariri River into Northern Christchurch... We've been lucky to have great weather, and extended daylight hours have given us more time to cache. Unfortunately, the sun must set each day and it's become a race to squeeze in a few more finds. So, at this late afternoon hour, we chose to knock off the the remaining Lolly Scramble hides... Thanks M&Ms and TFTC.

After a big day yesterday collecting caches around the Mt Thomas tracks, we headed out in the car today to clear some roadside caches. We had a pretty successful day with 55 finds and just 2 DNF's. All finds were nice and quick and any specific notes will be mentioned below. Thanks to all CO's for your caches and sorry for copy and paste log but I had no internet at time to make detailed logs.

Great fun, out with Baird fmly, for lolly scramble adventure now in the sun! Pretty cool! Put back in place had fallen.
Great day lolly scrambling with C Boyd in the sunshine, although the clouds are darkening behind us. This one was fun.
Quick find with my little boy. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros).
While there were a few reasons why I should not have been out this morning, here I was! I clicked about the hint after I replaced the cache. TFTC!!
One of 21 caches located in the Swannanoa – West Eyreton area this afternoon. A dozen or so were part of M & M’s Lolly Scramble series. Thanks for all the effort that’s gone into so many of these. A reasonably quick find. #2467. TFTC.

A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 16 Glentunnel to Waikari 76 caches found. Decided to do this series. I enjoyed the work that has gone into this. With every container I smiled and thought about the memories it brought back. Thank you for the placement

As part of an eight hour maintenance run along the Lolly Scramble this cache has been checked.
Got it straight away. But gosh these lollies bring back mixed memories - of my dear dad who loved these but I couldn't stand them. A great hide. Thanks.

I did a number of caches in this series a few years ago but for some unexplicable reason about half didn't get loaded into my GPS. It was sure to be user error. Now I have tried to complete the series but I still didn't manage to get the ones at the west end of the road into the GPS = yet another visit.

Recent tree felling. The cache was on the ground. Looked at the fence and the "decorations". One had a definite spot for a cache, so that's where it went back. TFTC very good hide.
Arrived into the S.I today. Our 1st stop was to pick up our Juicy van & then hit the road towards the westcoast.
We chose the area of the lolly scramble to take us towards our destination. We stopped where we found it suitable with a car we were not used to.
We found such a variety of containers along this route, a nice war to start our trip.
It's so lovely & green & not having to worry about snakes sure is a big plus.
Thanks for placing this cache MandMCachers

As I drove to GZ I spotted a ladder leaning on a tree and thought - oh no surely not. And no it was not. It was an easy quick find at another creative site. This is probably my most enjoyable day caching yet, I really really enjoyed finding such an array of containers, many of which I have never seen before. I found myself imagining what I migt find at the next stop. This is definately a trail I will bring my grandkids to if I ever get to bring them to CHCH. Thanks so much for the enjoyment I have had today
Found in the open so placed near fence with some cover.
Quick find where all good at GZ. Thanks for another smilie.
Hoping to see you at the [Oamaru Geofest](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6M2V0_oamaru-geofest-2017) during Labour Weekend 21-22 October 2017. Let's all help this a successful event!

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.
Quick find where all good at GZ. Thanks for another smilie.

Wow what a day, started at 7.30 just as daylight was arriving and the misty rain had me worried, turned out to be a great day with a total of 120 caches not the goal I had set myself (next time we are here we will try the 270 in a day again) but still a great goal at 120, thank you for placing and maintaining the caches we found, sorry for the copy and paste logs we had many to find and only recorded if damage or logs replaced.
#3621. I had a work trip to Canterbury on the Thursday and Friday but decided to stay over on the weekend to fit in a couple of big caching days. I am working on the DGSC challenge and need some 50+ days for the bulk find elective. So Saturday and Sunday were earmarked for getting some big totals. Managed to locate about 130 caches over the weekend and about 150 over 4 days. Decided today I would do the lolly scramble series of caches along this road and any other caches encountered. It was a really enjoyable series with well themed containers. Once I got my eye in, the finds sped up as the day progressed. Certainly a very warm early autumn day (high of 29 degrees. There were muggles sitting in cars just inside the property. I looked at the ornaments hanging on the fence as a diversion and quickly grabbed the cache. It was sitting there quite exposed. Signed the log and replaced with slightly more cover on top. Thanks for the cache.
We are from Canada and visiting relatives In Christchurch for a few weeks. Started the lolly pop trail last week and we are finishing it today. Thanks to those who set up this trail. It has allowed us to check out an interesting area.
Out on a casual drive around exploring some more, and grabbing some caches on the way. Aiming to start the lolly scramble series on the return trip home. Apologies for the copy paste logs, COs please by no means think that this detracts from the find. I enjoyed my day out. Really enjoyed some of these containers, this series must have taken awhile to set up. Well done!
TFTC MandMCachers, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 25 find of 29 today, making this find #1399

In Christchurch on holidays visiting family who are also Geocaches and they mentioned this trail. So on our way back from Castle Hill today we decided to try and get some!! We have really enjoyed this series and the thought gone into it! We hope to be back in the future so we can do some more!! TFTC!!!
We were going to grab this yesterday but there were people nearby and I though better of jeopardising the hide. On return I noted on the cache page it was hidden with permission so probably would have been OK. Another "shortcut" long trip home and the cache was found. Love these caches so another favorite from me!
Had a couple of hours spare this afternoon and was in the area so came for a drive to find some of the caches along here. This one was a quick find, nicely done! Signed log, TFTC
