Q. Why do horses like to fart when they buck?
A. Because they can't achieve full horse power without applying the gas.

This morning we started caching at the junction of the Newell Highway and Pikedale Road and during the day, we gradually worked our way south into Palgrave Road, Loloma Road and Mount Janet Road. We started at about 8:45am and finished the caches on our list as the sun set. We enjoyed the variety of caches and the scenery along the way.

Initially we thought that cache would be missing as we saw horse hoof prints in the sand near GZ - we wondered if the Black Stallion had headed off, Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. Unfortunately the logbook was quite soggy but still signable. Thanks the cache maker for the cache and others you have placed in the area.

Yeehaw, time to get out on the dirt roads of Stanthorpe and pick up some caches. We have had our eyes on this power trail for some time and today is the day. Lots of long grass trodden through, boulders climbed, stabbed by sticks, slips and slides all the geo-caching fun

Along the way we managed to pick up a few letters we needed for animal names for another challenge cache we are trying to complete.

Thanks for all the caches out here on the dirt roads of Stanthorpe.

Tftc. This is a late log. Went on a caching trip back on August 28/29 2016. Did over 350 caches over the weekend and only managed to log the rest of it now. The girls took me out for a bday weekend caching. Found with chasing adventures and Thehinds of the Triple threat crew

27-Aug-16
A wonderful weekend away in Stanthorpe resulting in 374 finds, including 22 mystery (Stanthorpe Apple) and 1 Earthe cache. I hoped to log each individually as I usually would but the tyranny of time prevents me from continuing to try and achieve this goal. A big thank you to all the Stanthorpe CO's. We said many times we wish we had more consolidated trails in Brisbane. TFTC Smile

We set aside today to challenge ourselves to find at least 150 caches in a day. Before last Mega in Stanthorpe, we had cleared the middle section of the AS Series, so this challenge meant starting at the bottom, then later moving to the top section, then back down the highway towards Stanthorpe until our target was reached. Apologies for this generic log: unless noted below the caches were in good order and available for future hunters - in some cases this meant stopping awhile longer to replace a log, and/or clean out the cache.

(Replaced log book - with Diamon JS)

Found at 1:52pm on 8th December, 2015. TFTC.nd at 1:00pm on 8th December, 2015. TFTC.

I was spending the weekend in Warwick and decided that it was about time that I found a few more of the power trails around here. I had a couple of hours and headed out solo and found 32 in a couple of hours

The trouble is trying to remember individual caches when you do power trails.

Thanks for putting out these caches for our enjoyment.

This one took a while to locate.

Smilie #2980

At a bit of a loose end so we decided a day just north of Stanthorpe, to clear a few caches we had no signal for on our last few trips south, was in order. Smile
Apologies if some logs are a bit generic but we converted 95 to smilies today! Smile

A short search soon revealed the cache.
Cool container!
As I knelt down, & was adding our mark to the log, I felt a couple of sudden, sharp pains in the side of my right knee.
A bit like needles quickly piercing the skin.
Dare I look?
Will there be more?
Placed the cache back as I waited to see if there would be any more 'attacks'!
No, all good, now to have a look & see what had actually happened.
Thank goodness!
A piece of cactus clung to my trousers where the spikes had penetrated my knee as I knelt on them!
No snake here today folks.
Move along please. LOL ...
After removing the visible spikes, still sticking through my trousers into my knee, I realised there were more still in there.
As I couldn't roll the leg up it had to come down.
Standing, half undressed, by the side of a country road extracting cactus thorns from my knee was so much fun!
Fortunately I completed my manouverings, redressed & was on my way without any visitors. LOL ...

31 of 95 today! Smile

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.

Day eleven took us back north to do more of the trails. We ere joined by Rapidlywild and SpecimenX for the morning. After a creative drive to get to our starting point we powered through all of the remaining animals by lunch. Then it was back to town to head our different ways. Sold De Lune and I headed out to the Bald rock road to do the remaining caches out that way. Thanks.

Found it with Team FIN [kapeka & laalaa]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Greetings from Finland!

Found with richliink on day five of our Mega 2015 Stanthorpe adventure.
Today was the big day, the day of the CITO, the Flash Mob and the closing ceremony. Time to say goodbye for tomorrow we are on the road to Warwick. Thanks the cache maker for your cache, which added to our fun.

Today specimenX and myself had a goal, we wanted to finish the powertrails. We had organised to meet up with Sol De Lune and Albida who are also from Canberra and with the 4 of us loaded up at 8am, off we went in order to hit as many as possible.

We had managed to knock over just over 100 caches in just under 4 hours and soon after, we were in a position where SDL and ALB had found ones we were missing. So we were returned to the Mega site to jump in our geomobile and from there we went seperate ways. With the very first cache collected at 0850, the ver last cache collected at 2122 with a ~2 hour break, we managed 226 cache finds in a 10 hour caching period. This is our biggest daily achievement to date !!!

Some caches were easy, some a little more difficult, all in all, no DNF's to record Big Grin and the Stanthorpe powertrails are now officially COMPLETE Big Grin

The weather was nice to us today and the roads remained dry enough to get around without any issues.

Thanks the cache maker for placing this cache for us to make a find on Big GrinSmile

06-Apr-15
Up from Canberra and found with Rapidlywild on a two week geomission around the Gold Coast and, of course, for the MEGA Big GrinCoolBig GrinCool

Today's plan for us was to complete the powertrails we had left around Stanthorpe and to nab any randoms along the way. A plan was hatched with our fellow ACT geomates, Sol de Lune and Albida33, the night before to join them at 8am to see how many we could knock off.

With just over 100 caches nabbed in under 4 hours, we were up to the point where Sol and Albida had already found the ones we had yet to get. So with that we all returned to Mega GZ to freshen up, then RW and I continued on to knock over the remaining caches we had left to collect on the power trails.

All up we made 226 finds in 10hrs-not a bad effort I reckon and it made for our biggest day yet! Big GrinCoolBig Grin

Thanks to all of the CO's who placed the caches for us to find on a most enjoyable day. As a powertrail co-owner, I can appreciate the work involved in setting them up! Smile

Day five for us at Stanthorpe, attending the Mega event. The previous day was very wet and up until today we really had not got many numbers. Today we finish up the Stan puzzles (has taken us 3 days to find these, been taking it reaaaaaaal slow). Finally with a break in the wet weather, we tackle the trails finishing the day with 202 finds and no DNF's ??

I found this cache while visiting Australia from New Zealand and while staying in Stanthorpe for several days for the 2015 Mega Event. Today I joined forces with fellow kiwis Cats&Dragons, Alpenmilch80, Vamber and Yorkshirekiwi83 (signing our logs as "CAVVY" to save time and log space.) Our main focus of the day was the power trails between Stanthorpe and Warwick. We left Stanthorpe at dawn and drove straight to Warwick, then slowly made our way south again through the power trails. It was a long day out caching, where we found over 300 caches! Apologies for the copy and paste logs, but its hard to remember them all! TFTC!

Found as part of a group assault consisting of myself (DazR) Haveanez (Havez) , Mvyrmnd (Mvyr), MLRoberts73 (MLR) and Ariel_is_me (A.M.)

In all it was a great weekend catching up with some familiar faces over the course of the few days and have a few laughs and fun with the shenanigans of group cache hunting.
An enjoyable time was had by all in our small caching group travelling around the back roads here picking up the finds on the different series out this way.

Thanks for the effort in the creative hides and thought out descriptions for each of them.

Cheers.

Found on Day 2 of the Mega Event,
We had a group and we had a mission to find 200 in the day,
We started out signing the log book with our full names Mlroberts73 & Arielisme but not long after the first 25 or so we started to get writers cramps? so we shorted it after about the 40th we sign the log as A&M as the log books where getting full and we didn’t need to take up so much room with our full names..
Thanks for having us for a great weekend

Together with the New Zealand crew which included Cats&Dragons, vamber, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 (signed logs as CAVVY) we headed out early in the morning to get those power trails plastered with a lot of smiley’s.
