Logs
Spotted the cache's hiding spot straight away. After brushing away the webs I pulled out the cache (luckily I always pack gardening gloves). Unfortunately it was full to the top with water. I tipped it out and dried the container and contents with tissues. I replaced the soggy pencil with a new one and put in a new ziplock bag with 2 pieces of paper for people to sign. I put the old, slimy log in a new ziplock bag but the CO might want to take it away and dry it out.
Catching up on logging , Apologies for the delay in sending through the logs. An enjoyable find with no muggle issues. TFTC ryanandadam. [1832]
Didn't find it but coords led to the big whole in the ground and not sure how long that's been there
Read the previous logs so I knew what to look for. As I pulled up the residents opposite were looking at me suspiciously. Guessed where it might be but that magpie swooping and staring at me was giving me 2nd thoughts. Oh well! Dug my arm in and after poking around had CIH and several cuts over my arm! Hastily signed log and returned the cache. TFTC and Arnold Barrington Bear said one more for the day. #155
Lucky the brave boys were here to help the girls...no way were they putting their hands in there!!
This one took longer than expected as the gps took me 17m from the obvious place.
Looked and looked. But could not find, perhaps we are too scared to put our hands far enough in a hole!
Gps was a bit out. But given the name and hint it wasn't too hard. A little scary looking blindly in the spot. But done. Tftc.
Just when you think you can't go in any further there it is. Thanks for a cobwebby find!
I finally relented, and after using a torch to have a good look beforehand, I shoved my arm into the dark hole and just had to feel around blindly before finally my fingertips touched something that wasn't wood or dirt. At least it wasn't warm, or slimey, or move of its own accord, or have teeth, or a bite of some type!!!!
Alas, not a cache I enjoyed. TNLNSL TFTC

Finally found after several attempts, and being bitten by a suspected spider the last time. Look out for the scorpion nearby...
For the record the song in my head - "Hoodoo Gurus - What's My Team (NRL version)"
I came up to Maitland today to go the caravan and camping show. After getting bogged in the van twice within the past 12 months and both times being in situations where I was far from help and without reception I figured it was time to find something that could help me out. I do the majority of my caching alone so if I get bogged it's not as though I've got anyone who can help me out, especially out in the middle of a national park... I found a cool product called "Bog Out" which seemed to suit my needs and as luck would have it the guy selling the things had a stall at the show. So I decided to come up to ask him some questions and hopefully purchase one (which I did). It's always a nice sweetener also when you know you can grab some caches from a new area!!
By the time I got to this one it was night time. I couldn't however resist grabbing one more cache in the area so thought this would be a nice and easy one. I got out of the van and timed my searches in between cars going past. I'm sure I looked very suspicious to people driving past. What good reason does a person have to be walking around here at night searching?
My GPS led me to a hole in the ground, one of those water type holes with the metal lid that flips up. I tried to get it to flip up but it was jammed shut.. I checked the logs and found out someone else had found the cache recently, surely they couldn't have opened this up? I read some more of the logs for further clues and then there was mention of a tree.. Bingo!!
I headed over to the likely culprit and with the warnings of large spiders by previous finders, some who even said not to do this one at night, I was hesitant of blindly searching. The hole was much larger than expected!! I bet all kinds of crazy things live inside it!! I couldn't spot anything with the torch so decided to just reach in and hope not to get bitten. Luckily I put my hand on the cache and was able to rip it out quicksmart.. I signed my name away and then placed the cache back into position. A Cool cache which woukd be interesting to see properly in daylight..
TFTC cheers

found with aussieben" needs new log as waterlogged., would not recommend during night time due to collection of spiders (big massive man eating spiders). need a light to find it.
Replaced log and added a few items for swaps, you will need to be brave putting your hand inside the tree at night I suggest a touch to check before hand
Found this cache at 4.30pm while in Maitland for a Vintage car weekend. The co-ords of this are about 17mts off. So start and look as to where you might place a cache. The cache and contents were very wet. might need replacing/checking.
Thanks ryanandadam for the hide.

Found this one to be 15 metres out and the last log green street hooliga have not signed it as the previous cache we just found.
The cache was well hidden and took quite a bit to get to but we were relieved when we felt the little devil.
Thanks very much ryanandadam for the hunt.

TFTC nice and easy. ..again, co ords are off...but the title and hint will take you straight there.
Love the tree. Can only imagine, how many scouts have climbed this tree. Even has the old axe cut foot steps in it. Well the three other members search whilst I sat in the car, thinking it would be a quick grab, but no, they couldn't find it. Read the logs, just made it worse. After a while I got out of the car, took the torch from the youngest, and promptly found it. It was not deep, as per some of the logs. Scary still though, as what is hidden in those unseen nooks. TFTC 799 total I gave it a fav, cause I am an old scout and just love the thought of this tree.
*** I did forget to mention, that the cache was full of water, with two soaking logs. I thought Sistemas would be water tight, and also those little baggies. Anyway, I took out the logs, as they are unreadable anyway, (If you want them I have kept them) wiped out the container, replace the log with some new sheets of paper, in a new little ziplock. I also dropped a TB, one that I have had for far too long. It needs to go to caches that have some sort of five(5) associated with it. Cheers.

After atleast a 20 minute struggle and getting dirty and rolling around in the grass i finally got this one TFTC!
This hole is "DEEP" , was way out of arms length but with the tool beside the tree eventually managed to retrieve and then SL. Then mopped up the blood from trying to reach in.
Thanks ryanandadam for the tricky placement.
Thanks ryanandadam for the tricky placement.
Not sure if it was the GPS playing up, or if the co-ordinates were out. Either way, cache was found 17m away. My unbitten hands thank the previous caching family for not placing the cache right inside the hole. Log needs replacing as it is soaked. TFTC
As a Cub Scout Leader I couldn't resist this one in the town I grew up in.

Didn't just find it, but gut it out from the back of the hole with a tool and a stick. All the logs in the box were wet. Have put in a new bag with my log on new paper. Suggest you add a string to this one so that it can be retrieved better.
Was very worried there may be a snake hiding in the hole. This hiding place is a snake bite asking to happen. Be careful.

OK, the co-ords put me way out with this one, when I did find the hiding spot I spotted the cache, way out of reach in the deepest bowels of the tree, I used a stick to get it a few inches closer but gave up.
Merry Christmas to all...... We finish xmas lunch and everybody gone home... i'm bored at home and kick out drive for fun and few find caches... weather pretty cool... Thank DNF for me and my hand cant though hole tree.... will come back again other time .. thank
Wow, putting your hand into the dark and not knowing what you might find is very creepy. Log still very wet, grabbed a TB and will move along.
Found it today. GPS was a bit screwy and put me off, but once spotted GZ knew was on right track with some assistance of Gilmaster Jnr. Log book was saturated, but left an appropiate trackable.
Found it. In a very ominous place, needed a torch to make me feel better. Needs a bit of maintenance, as it was still wet on a hot day.
We were visiting friends in the Morpeth area, after checking out the markets in the morning we had time to find a few of the local caches.
Our silly GPS said we were 15m away from where we found the cache.
Thanks for placing this cache ryanandadam

I found the tree and the hole, but not the cache. And I wasn't going to blindly search around in such a deep and wide hole without being able to look in there first.
As a Venturer leader from Adelaide I had to find this cache while visiting East Maitland.
Found with my son and 3 week old grandson, who will hopefully one day join Joeys.
The cache was pretty wet and I only just managed to mark the very wet log. I didn't replace the log in the ziplock bag as the inside of that was wet and I thought it had a better chance of drying out without it.
Thanks for the cache ryanandadam

Found it with sesblocker after using a torch, a pair of gloves and a long stick. Signed the log and returned it, hopefully allowing for easier retrieval. TFTC!
Found this tricky one with The Neighbs. Had to use a few different tools to retrieve this one, but we got there in the end. TFTC!
