Nice puzzle finally solved with 3ferrets. Came to GZ along a nice little trail but after searching for 30mins couldn’t find a container or zip lock bag as mentioned in previous logs oh well. Will try again another day. Thanks Grub Fred! Lovely spot!
Found the spot... Followed geotrail. No cache or zip lock bag (refer to previous log) to be found.
Found at 2:19 PM GAFF?
I had the co-ords for this final of the series for 5 years and today in the company of the CO I finally went out to find the cache. However - big problem when we got to GZ - nothing there! It was a of another ammo box disappearing it seems.
Found a zip lock bag and put in a log sheet and the CO was happy for me to claim a find.
Thanks Grub Fred.
Feedback: Will you risk putting another ammo box out just to feed the muggle

I put what numbers I had together and had a likely GZ in a reserve some 600m from the trail,on arrival it just wasnt right, so I played around again with some numbers and found a much better looking GZ,now everything looked back on track and this time I found the cache...yippee !!
Thanks for the fun series

We are staying in the area for a few days and happily we were able to find this cache. A great series, fav point alloc. Thanks to Grub Fred for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Up from Sydney for a geocaching weekend away in Newcastle with the Toolbox series in our sights today. So happy to gather all the clues on this nice walk. Greta idea to double up in each container. We sat at the former Whitebridge station while Mr Gaztek did the deciphering. Yay! Headed back up the path to GZ and in to GZ just as a muggle biking family departed the area. Found the container which was very wet inside. Gave it the best cleanup we could with a dry tissue, tucked it back in place and walked away with big smiles. Loved the series and the clever hides. A favourite from us. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Waited a long time for muggles to leave the area before we could begin the hunt. Found the cache and the 100 ants living inside
Found it. Thanks - enjoyed our afternoon adventure. Forgot to bring a pen so didn't sign.
We had a great time on the tool box trail, toolbox was in a great hiding spot
Came here finally after completing the set to get the numbers and solving the puzzle, while may son was at training, but staring to get dark, I have been down here previously to look at the wildlife, and was abundant at dusk today, nice placement for a cache. Lucky I had may phone, as my GPS had this cache missing. I had trouble seeing inside the cache for lack of light. TFTC.
Enjoyed the whole series, and working on the puzzle, came back today to seek this one,
Thanks Grub Fred you are so lucky to have this bike trail, Thanks for your series, fav from me, cheers, Misty

After finding 5 of the 12 caches in the series, had worked out the sudoku for the cache. A nice spot for a cache. Managed to spot the cache pretty easily amongst the bushes. TFTC!!! #1046
Finally got a chance to make it back to this one. On our way to Newcastle Meet & Greet. My kids enjoyed the scooter ride each time we come to grab a few in this series. Thanks for the enjoyable series Grub Fred.
I didn't have all of the numbers but thought I'd give the puzzle a crack anyway, came up trumps (not the Donald type). Fave point for the series, the puzzle and the serene final location.
In the morning the weather will be good. So we want to tackle the Toolrunde and drive the Fernleigh Track with the bike. Here we could find all the containers well. Only one container we had to log a DNF. The coordinates were good and the hints very helpful. The bonus could also be determined. This gets a blue ribbon for the round.
Many thanks for the nice round of Moorhelmis from Germany

Good thing I'm alright at Sudoku with all the DNFs. Shame Muggles have destroyed them. Enjoyed the walk, nice work!! Found with Tack123

Solved the sudoku and completed the puzzle and found the location. Great spot. Good camo. Hard to get to...
Nice little serene spot with some feathered friends, found quite quickly, appreciate a nice big cache TFTC
Yippee we finally did it! And a great box of toys for the kids. Thanks for the series!
Well ... that's a "D'Oh!" moment! After finding all but one of the twelve clues in the Toolbox series, I assumed I didn't have sufficient data to reach this final puzzle cache. It was only after I got to the hotel and had time to collate all the clues that I realised CO has built in redundancy into the puzzle clues! A nice touch given even the best hidden caches can get muggled.
With the help of an Excel template, the final coords were determined in no time. Google Earth suggested there is nearby parking, so before the competition this morning, went off for this series final.
Cache is readily found and in good condition.
There seems to be an infestation of Deadly Ducks, so reduced the population by removing one. Also took TB/Aussie Slouch Hat.
Dropped in a pack of child-proof latches.
This has been a fun series (although I'd have much preferred doing it by cycle).
Thanks for the cache and the series, Grub Fred. Have another FP.

On the way to Glendale to watch a gymnastics competition. Took a geo-detour to visit some caches in Grub Fred territory. Tally for the day, 19 Finds/1 DNF. This was the fifteenth find for the day.
Unfortunately, the one DNF (screwed by the screwdriver) meant two missing clues to this Puzzle Final.
But I will be back.
An excellent series, Grub Fred. Here's an 'imminent' TFTC and series.

Finally found the finale and in the dark and rain no less! Dropped off some ducky friends for their start in the HQ Duck Dash!
Really nice series and love the ammo can at the end. Will certainly recommend it to friends. TFTC
Found all 12 on Sunday. Didn't think I'd get back to find this one. I completed the Sudoku when I got back to my room and decided to try after work. Found it straight away.
Thanks for a great series.
Thanks for a great series.
Out for the afternoon with Megron62 and Deheaps with
the aim of tackling this series.
What a great finish for a great series. Lovely and unexpected surprise in the final location.

Headed out to finish the Toolbox series today with Deheaps and Pannie2 and we did just that. We had previously completed only 3, but finished the rest, and then completed the puzzle and fount Toolboz too! – A couple took a little more thinking about than others. Thanks so much to the CO for fixing up the track yesterday – so we knew they were all there, so just a matter of sticking with it until we found it.. Very enjoyable series, weather held off for us. Some great swaps in this one! All done. SL. TFTC
Found while cycling the Fernleigh Track, TFTC. Great way to end this series, great novelty idea.

Absolutely awesome series Grub Fred! Thanks so much for bringing us here. We had a great day out caching and met some lovely feathered friends at GZ. I also found out that I'm really quite terrible at SUDUKO :O Signed log, left some swag. What a great end to a fun and amazing series Fav point from me
Solved and finally finish the toolbox series. We loved it so thank you very much Grub Fred
Awesome series started late afternoon. reached this one just after dark with jreece86
Found on the way home from work. I had enough numbers to solve the majority of the suduko and managed to force the couple of numbers i didn't have. I will slowly find the rest of the series on my way to or from work on the bike. TFTC
Had to come back to drop off my first TB

Great end to the series quick and easy find on a cold afternoon. Left behind a resistor
Gotcha !!! Enjoyed the series. A Fav. Point from me today. Visited TBs and GCs. TFTC
Tftc! Spent many hours over several days walking fernleigh with the geofamily. Thanks for the fun grub fred!
Headed into Newcastle, to tackle a few more caches in the area.
With a good variety of hides, we were kept busy for a few hours.
We had most of the clues, and Geo-wife made quick work of the Sudoku puzzle.
Sighted one trackable, took one and left two.
Many thanks for placing this series of caches, Grub Fred, for us and others to find.

After a long and rewarding walk the other day, I went back home and solved this puzzle. Even with a missing letter (A) and one cache unfound I was still able to get the co-ords. Today I took the quick option and drove to the cache. Thanks for a great series, I'm on to the Fernleigh series next!
Today we headed out just south of Newcastle to find some caches - this series was first on the agenda and ended up being the vast majority of what we found. We enjoyed the walk along the very popular trail, stopping for lunch just past the furthest cache, and spotting some ducks along the way.
All of the caches done, we stopped for lunch just off the trail and sat down with the puzzle. Copied down the sodoku and added in the clues collected along the way and it was soon solved. We headed on to the final, only to wonder where it could be ten metres off the track. We then realised the GPSr hadn't changed the coordinates when I plugged the new ones in... great. So I had to create a waypoint for the actual final which we went to, finding some cool ducks not far away. Geomum made the find, and we were glad to see a nice ammo tin.
Thanks Grub Fred for this cache and the series - for your effort here is a favourite.

This week I am slowly heading south. I am on my way to Sydney for a work function next Tuesday / Wednesday. So I am taking the rest of this week to slowly cache my way south.
Today I am caching in Newcastle with Grub Fred. ( He has kindly allowed me to stay at his place for a couple of nights while I am in town. )
After doing the tour of Greater Newcastle with Grub Fred it would be rude not to go find 1 or 2 or 3 or ... a few of his caches. So out with the 'geobike' and the spare in the shed (for me) and off for a fantastic arvo bike ride along this bikeway.
With all of the collected tools on board I am ready to open (any way possible ) the final of the series.
Oh hang on the CO is here ... might need to do this properly.
Thanks again for a fabulous couple of days.
Thanks for the cache.

I had mostly been avoiding this series due to its low one point five difficulty and terrain rating as I was trying to bring up my average ratings for a challenge cache or two. But overtime (and trying to continue a streak) I had ended up doing a fair few in this series and that had been enough (plus using some educated guesses) to work out the final location. I finally got around to finding this one tonight as I did not get a chance to go out cachin’ before. I found a path down between some houses and found GZ. I felt like a fool after reading the hint (but the coordinates are not perfect, but hard to change due to the puzzle) and soon found the cache. I signed the log and watched in the darkness as two people walked by (not creepy at all!). After putting the cache back I had a look at the water and some nearby ducks that I think I woke from their sleep and headed back home.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
8696 + 999 = 9695. Found during my visit to Newcastle this weekend.
I had a couple of hours up my sleeve before heading home to Canberra today. I decided a walk along the Fernleigh Track was the way to go ! My main aim was to complete the Toolbox Series. Having collected all the clues I sat in the shade and completed the Sudoku (glad I like them !!). The end results were an appropriate set of co-ords, so to GZ I went. I was quite happy to spot the cache straight away ! Signing duties completed I replaced the cache and headed off down the track again for a few more caches.
Thanks again Grub Fred !! Great fun ! A Favourite Point from Me !

Easily the best cache/series I've done so far. Had an absolute blast finding all the clues and then the final cache. TFTC
A wonderful hide for such a large container - hard to see until you are right on it. What a great series. Thanks Grub Fred. TFTC took squishy cow for my 2.5 y.o. Geokid (she loves it). Will return some swap karma elsewhere today (had nothing on me).
TFTC!!! We did this series a while ago but came by today to pick up the final cache! What a beautiful spot for the this one!! This series was so fun! Thanks so much for getting us up & about =)
This was a great series, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you. Loved the feathered welcome party (one hissed at me so beware!)
What a great series, some fun and unique cache containers....great fun by bike...we were lucky to be accompanied by the CO who furnished us with wheels to roll through the whole series before lunch....thanks GrubFred
Well we found the bench & table, not just around the bend like we first thought! Now to figure out the puzzle. Nah...got no idea! How about we read the logs. These logs sound familiar...I reckon we had a look at the spot 3 weeks ago when we did the 'Balls Out' series. Let's go & have a look...we might get lucky! & lucky we were! The glasses are still there & cache well camouflaged. SLTN Thanks for a great series Grub Fred. We thoroughly enjoyed our exercise with a purpose!
Took a seat on the Track to work out the sudoku and stopped on our return ride to find the cache. A lovely quiet spot....and who doesn't love a toolbox! Thanks Grub Fred for a fantastic series on one of the best bike tracks. We had a really enjoyable day caching and riding. And now for the other fun bit, riding all the way back.
Thanks so much for the great adventure "Grub Fred". A great series with lots of unique caches! Reasonably muggle free on weekdays!
Great series of Caches to get to this one. Nice to see that you allowed for Muggles in each individual cache. Well done Mr Grub Fred. TNLCC (Calling Card)
What a great series and fantastic spot for the last cache!
Rushed home to solve the puzzle after getting all but one of the Fernleigh caches.
Managed to solve the sudoku and bring up some likely coordinates.
Was watched the whole time by a duck. Made the find and enjoyed the lovely view and awesome cache contents as the sun set.
Never knew about this spot.
Definitely a favourite point. Thanks so much for the cache and the series!

Thirteenth on the Fernleigh Track today on what turned out to be a great day for the walk but sadly so many muggles on track today.
Love this spot, the kids loved the ducks, geese and rabbits. However the gander and a rabbit are a bit worse for wear, they have had some trouble lately.
Thanks for this series, very enjoyable with just the added amount of frustration to balance it out

Finally finished this series after a couple weeks. This was a really cool little spot although we did have a run in with a possum and her baby. I don't think she was a fan of caching.
after a few weeks we have finally finished the run with the help of team jäger im done
Had been looking forward to getting back to finish off this very enjoyable series. Hiccup along the way with my GPS being stolen with the final clues in it but thankfully grub was not to shabby and sent them to me again.
Swapped some bugs around in between being harassed but the feathered bird life.

After doing the sudoku last night I set of this morning to find the tool box.
Also saw a pair of glasses hanging in the tree nearby.
Loved the series and loved the track. Thanks Grub Fred for the effort put into it.

What a great cache trail..... Didn't take too long, brought 2 cars so we didn't have to walk all the way back...... Sat in the car to finish off the Sudoku puzzle and had the coordinates in no time..... Excellent spot for the hidden cache, saw some people there while we did the rest of the tools..... and loved the cache tin too, first one of them I've seen, and was super happy to check another trail off the list..... Favorite point from me.
OK, I had all the numbers and the sudoku was solved. GZ was in an area I had never really noticed and after a small battle with the undergrowth I finally held the toolbox. I really enjoyed this series with its variety of hides but especially the rides out and back, you can't go wrong with the Fernleigh track. Thanks for the work put into this series, definitely one of my favourites.
Yay finally found it. This was a great set of caches. Thank you so much for this and look forward to finding more of your caches.
Found the tools for this cache series last weekend and figured if finish it off today. Brought my geo sister (billsy88) with me for the hunt. A great geo series. TFTC.
Nice hide had fun with this power trail geo dog had a good old drink geo kids got swaps we left some swaps too tftc

This was an awesome series, very enjoyable on a beautiful day. Thanks for the inventive cache containers as well.
Thanks for the cache Grub Fred.
With freezing hands and faces, Cccritter7 and I set off on our great Geocaching adventure. We started with the Toolbox series on the Fernleigh Track, then found the Balls-Out series in the Kahibah Sports complex. After this, a few stand alone caches in Kahibah/Charlestown. We then zoomed down the Pacific Highway on our bikes. After a perilously steep hill in Windale, we searched for the 'Nature Bird' Series in Tingira Heights. It wasn't the greatest time to take these on, as there was some very muddy tracks. After a spot of lunch along the way, we completed the majority of the caches and came down to the shore of Lake Mac. We picked up the Billion Dollar Boardwalk Series, then went on a long ride along the beautiful Lake Mac, ending up at Mega Fun. We then headed to The Leaning Red Gum cache at Glendale. After that we enjoyed a McFlurry at Macca's, before setting off for the Glendale to Wallsend Power Trail. After completing this, we tiredly set off home, exhausted but tired after an awesome day of GeoCaching.

A fitting finale to a great series! The challenge got us outside on a day we probably would otherwise have stayed indoors.

Great Series TYVM...Some nice containers !
I was planning a kayaking adventure today until I awoke to a bitter westerly wind, then suddenly got an SMS and offer to go caching on two power trails, namely the Fernleigh Track and Toolbox Series with ALL7. DollDoll was keen to go too but had no serviceable bike, Last time we came here she died after 3km poor thing, so she'd never of made it today. Arriving at FT1, we quickly setup, I heaved out the MTN bike and then watched ALL7 un-fold her GOGOBIKE! - I haven't see one if these except in books 30yrs ago. Off we went, here's where the Garmin blew away my Android phone...by cache #3 I wanted to smash my phone again - damn trees! There's certainly some challenging caches along these trails, so TY colleda for bringing us here. This track is definitely one for the Bucket List. The diverse landscapes, and several new cache types made each stage a pleasant surprise, I kept wondering what would be next After completing the Toolbox series by Grub Fred , we headed way back to the cars in the dark holding flashlights lol It was also nice to just about roll the whole complete return journey, or atleast I did, the GoGoBike needed some air in the tyres. Well that's about it as a general log for all these, except to mention our bums are sore, and ALL7s knees are shot. [green] - Found It ... at 5:00 PM ... TFTC! - Grub Fred ... [/green] Total Finds now ... 630
