Came back today to complete a bit more of the Bush Ranger series and a few others along the way. I replaced the missing caches as I went to keep this series alive, I hope the CO doesn't mind. The weather gods were on my side and not a drop of rain, once I started caching. TFTH

#12863. Day 17 of our WA holiday and today was moving day. Robmc and I headed across to the Albany Highway and did some more of the Bushranger Series before starting the LGA Series at the top of South Crossman Road. We picked up 17 Bushrangers and noted that there is much burning off happening along the roadside. I fear that many caches may end up getting burnt once more.

Thanks for more interesting information on some of our infamous, lawless characters from the past.

Thanks Keego_and_Chil

Day Seventeen of our holiday in Western Oz.
Bettyboo3747 and I departed Rockingham on our way to Quindanning. We did a few more Australian Bushrangers and some of the LGA series.

We started where we left off a couple of days ago at George Melville, and worked our way down to Martin Cash where we started the LGA series.
A lot of the first half dozen caches had current burning off (it was still smoking today), but luckily on the opposite side of the road. By the time we reached a cache on the eastern side of the road, the burning had finished (about 50 meters before!)
A nice collection of caches, hides, and information.
Thanks, Robmc.

In Victoria there is a roadside slogan STOP – REVIVE – SURVIVE. We followed this advice today on the drive from Albany to Perth. This is one of the forty stops we made, learning and laughing along the way and adding our name to the log and collecting a smiley token! Smile We survived!

Thanks Keego_and_Chil for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

On a mission to try and find 300 caches for the month so a nice drive to Williams via Albany Highway picking up a gang of Bush Rangers and a few others was the order of the day. A great day with 58 finds, 2 dnf's and one drive by as it was too tricky to pull off the road. A big thanks to the CO's involved and sorry for the mostly generic logs.

TFTC Keego_and_Chil this is find # 1905 for us

Hi there Keego_and_Chil.

We found your cache **"Frank MacCallum - Australian Bushranger"** at 10:02:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15601).

We started the day off from Williams, our intention was to head north along the highway to reach "Civilisation" before turning back. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and learned a lot about early Australian criminal heroes along the way.

We found a wide variety of container types amongst our 37 caches (& 2 DNF's) today. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Spent the morning doing not much at all. Then hatched a last minute plan with Webbly WA to do some drivebys as it is a very warm day. It got warmer too! 41 degrees still at 4p.m. Ended up with over 40 eventually & no DNFs! We were like a well oiled machine...

Thanks to my navigator & to the CO.

My Challenge cache for December was 'Hidden Dates' tracking the last one down on the 23/12. For January I am Hunting down numbers to complete a 300 finds in a month challenge cache. Yesterdays came mostly from the periodic table. But with the hot forecast today and plans this morning was unsure what today would bring.
I was chatting to PommieParkin2 this morning and said ' Where shall I cache to today in this heat?' The reply 'Park n grabs, I'll come'. So we decided to tackle the Australian Bushrangers series.

Starting just after Lunch from Jarrahdale, PommieParkin2 drove while I navigated the trip to Williams and back. We ended up finishing our afternoon adventure at around 7pm. The temperature made it into the 40s and so did our cache numbers most of them bushrangers with the odd extra thrown in now and again. Luckily for us though, most were nice and quick park and grabs before retreating back to the coolness of the air conditioned car. The bonus was no DNFs which we were proud of and a huge thank you to the COs and others for maintaining all the caches.
Find #34 on the return journey. Glad these are quick finds with the temperatures still soaring. It means I spend more time in the drivers car navigating then I do in the heat searching. This bush ranger was definitely better off dead than alive for everyone's sake.

Oooh !! Here's a bushranger that I have heard of Smile
Possibly the nastiest of them all !!
Badder than the Kelly gang anyday [:o]

But only for a minute while I scribbled on one of its pages Smile

Out today with xPertCach3r caching our way to Williams and back. The plan was to finish off the Bushrangers and grab anything else close to the highway.

We had a great day with 54 finds and 1 DNF. Most caches were found quite quickly, and the weather was perfect.

Thanks to all the COs for their caches.

Cached my way down to Williams and back this morning to rack up the numbers on some Australian Bushrangers plus a few others. 46 finds and 1 DNF not a bad mornings 'work' I reckon.

Another easy find. Left the cash in the cache.

Keego_and_Chil I found your cache at 8:48am, this was the 17th of 46 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 2808. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Have been meaning to do part of this series for some time now, so today was the day. Had an early start to the day and it was a relatively quiet day for traffic on the highway. Most were easy to locate, a few caused a bit of head scratching and a couple were spoilt by the rubbish left lying around close by to the caches. A bonus today was the most caches found in one day since I commenced caching in 2008.

We are approaching our 1000th find, and have been wanting to attack the Bushranger Series. So as a joke (hint) I suggested to Hubby that we pull the seats out of the back of the Kia, pop in an air mattress and cache our way to Albany. Well Hubby accepted the challenge Smile - we also put solar fairy lights in the back so we had light while camping. It was a fun, laugh a minute, challenging little three day trip. I am copying and pasting most of my logs, with a little special mention here and there.

Thankyou all for placing these caches, we had a ball and were taken to places we would never have gone.

Took my mum down to Boddington for my grandsons 2nd Birthday and decided to stay overnight.
This meant that I could take my time driving back home, which meant that there was time to grab some caches along the way.
With my mother navigating (she is 73 and has never held a GPS) I tried reeeeeeaaaallllllyyyyy hard to be patient, and I managed to find 25, 0 DNFs and one we drove past too far to make a safe turn around.
Most caches were found quickly with just 2 that took me a few minutes more to find.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the caches and the information on the bushrangers.
Can't wait until I get around to finding the rest.

After camping in Williams last night with iluvtrekking, we were up bright and early to head towards Perth nabbing the assortment of bushrangers along the way. We were fortunate to catch all the culprits and a few others during the course of the day although hindered slightly by drizzle later in the afternoon. Thanks K & C for the excellent series and the effort put into the research behind each villain, we enjoyed reading their stories.

24-Nov-13
We camped overnight in Williams with richlink and took off early to tackle the bushrangers. We really enjoyed this fantastic series of caches and the intriguing tales of their exploits. Well done Keego & Chil, we had a great day.

22-Nov-13
I set off early this morning to try and finish the remainder of this series. I had some trouble with my GPS which consistently put me at least 5 metres from GZ for the majority of the morning. This made for a lot of searching; however, I did not have a DNF and found 50 today. Smile

Thanks for the series Keego and Chil. Big Grin The effort that you put into the caching community is applauded and I loved reading up about the Bushrangers.

07-Nov-13
Today, we took a drive to Williams to do some more of the Australian Bushrangers, and other in the area.
We did the caches on our left driving to & from Williams, (most of the time) to save running across the road.
Geo-wife read the history of each bushranger, which we enjoyed as we drove to each one.
Many thanks , Keego_and_Chil, for all the effort that has gone into putting this series together.

Getting everything logged from my recent trip to Western Australia. The first two weeks were slammed while I was on assignment but I managed to get out every day for a find or two. Got to visit some really remote places like Meekathara and Wiluna and got down to the beaches near Marybrooke and Naturaliste. For the few days I had to myself I hit the Wandoo, the Albany Hwy and the Southwest Hwy Series. So I covered a lot of ground and saw a lot of Western Australia. I had to get used to a lot of things, like driving on the left side of the road, give rather than yield, take away rather than take out and yes with a question mark is asking for conformation. Just goes to show we may speak the same language but words don't always mean the same thing. Sorry for the cut and paste nature of the logs but I have a lot to log and my sanity is important. Smile Thanks to all the locals for the hospitality I was shown while there and thanks to the CO's for the hides, the fun and another smiley on the map. See you on the trail, and cache on!

Well today was my big caching day to collect all the Australian Bushranger caches and whatever others I could grab as well along the way Big Grin.
And what a warm day it has become Sad

Muggle partner and I left home at 7.30am this morning so didn't arrive in Williams until around 9am and got straight into it there before the drive continued north [^].

We decided to do north and southbound caches in one hit and an easy find here thankfully Smile. Another Bushranger is finished

Kyzabra, Rudi63 and I set out on what turned out to be a 12 hour caching run ... departed Kyzabra's residence shortly after 5am and arrived back sometime after 5pm. 75+ logs were signed along the way. Had a few laughs along the way and swapped a few caching stories ... all up an epic and most enjoyable day's caching.

Our aim was to grab all of the 'Australian Bushranger' caches and as many others as we could along the way.

Kyzabra made the grab here. Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Keego & Chil. And thanks for a great series Smile.

Out for a day of caching with Kyzabra and Firnsy, the decision was made to cache down the Albany Highway. History lessons a plenty as we found the dedications to those Bushrangers that have dotted our relatively short history. We also managed to grab a few other caches along the way. Over 12 Hours on the road, but lots for smiley faces achieved.

Headed out on a day of caching today with Rudi63 and Firnsy. The bushranger series was our primary target and any nearby caches were on the way as well. 12 hours on the road returned 79 logs for me with only 1 DNF. All in all, a great days caching with great company.
Rudi kept us abreast with our history by reading the cache page before arriving at each GZ.

[:(!] After church we went for a Sunday drive to Williams with geogranddaughter, after a bite to eat we were on our way back home, we picked up some caches along the way, especially the Australian Bushranger Series and a few on the side and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and we walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes especially when there are three sets eyes searching.

This was our last one of the series , seems this was not a very nice bushranger to end on he was not a nice person by all account. However this has been a great interesting series much enjoyed by us thanks very much for all the effort which must have gone into putting it together.
A well deserved favourite point from us.

Shocking weather forecast for today, but we were hoping that most of it would be closer to the coast, so we headed inland instead. I was the driver, whilst Luna Maya was in the navigator's seat. Quick find here. Am leaving Luna to write more descriptive logs for this series, but I appreciate the effort that went into their placement. Thanks Keego and Chil

On the morning of our caching day out the weather forecast was gloomy - severe weather warning actually - wind, rain and storms Mistraluna and myself decided to go anyway and "see what happens" The plan was to make a start on the Australian Bushranger Series and "see how we go ". I now recall some talk about also caching in Boddington, but maybe I wasn't listening Well talk about plans going astray, this plan certainly did So the " Two Luna's" had a very big day out indeed. The weather was actually great, just a few showers here and there. I thought I was actually with Mary Poppins for a while - funny to see a pink umbrella in the bush We managed to find 49 of 50 caches in the series ( one DNF) plus some others in between !!! We loved the different locations and the good sized and sometimes humorous containers. So "see how we go" became - " We only have ten more rangers to find" - what should we do So we continued on, our caching venture turning into a ten hour marathon. What a great day, we had some memorable moments along the way ! Thanks so much for your company Mistraluna Keego and Chil, thanks so much for the caches and for a well done series - loved it. Logs signed of course. *Sorry for the generic log, will add more to different caches* Will also add some photos Big Grin

Despite the gloomy forecast (rain, thunderstorms and hail ) I decided to try to get all in the series today, I started at North Bannister and cached down to Williams leaving the closer one for the home run. All in all a great day with only two DNF's

Got up this morning and the wife says go and get the new caches that come out....I quickly loaded up 21 and dashed out the door not realizing I had left my phone at home and headed off. On my travels I saw a familiar 4x4 on the side of the road but my GPS wasn't showing any caches in this area Woe and behold its Chwiliwr and geo wife so I pulled over to say hello and to see what they are up to ...Chwiliwr asked have I got all 50 then I realized that I had left my phone at home and the geowife couldn't call me to inform me of the rest of them and I will now have to return tomorrow to complete the rest of the series......
All the caches were easy to find and parking was no problem at any of them...TFTC Keego and Chil
