Having spent 4 or 5 days in the Manawatu it is time to head for home. Just a few more local caches to pick up before we leave. We were mostly finding puzzle caches on this trip, but this one was so close we just had to find it too. It was not where we expected to find it, but after seeing that the magnet is missing we soon located it. Thanks.
Another partial day with D6NZ in Fielding looking to log some more solved puzzles and complete a couple more multis. Also picking up the odd traditional as we pass and as time allows.
This one was found on ground as the magnet has lost its effectiveness. The log was wet but the day was windy so it didn't take log to dry out.
Cheers.

Team up with Scoria today with the goal of heading off to Fielding to do some of the mystery caches that we had solved earlier , as well as doing some of the multi caches that are here. Also stoping by and looking for as many of the traditoinaly caches that we past by, as time would allow.
The glue holding the magnet to the cache has failed and needs to be reglued. The log was wet , so we sat down for a while until it had dried out.
The cache was a quick and easy find

This one took me a minute or 2 longer than it should have despite precise coords. It's not very magnetic so wasn't quite as per the hint, which had me off searching the length of the hint item. Anyway no worries, found it in the end! Just fown for dome racing before heading to the mega tomorrow night. TFTC
Time to log our little trip to the Mega in Turangi. Enroute we detoured via Feilding for the Yumfest dinner, a night cache and a bit of puzzle gathering. Of course there were traditionals, a few multis, some earthcaches and lots of coffee stops to endure. Most found with bkj97, Edvern or the crew we stayed with in Turangi. Now of course the task of logging them all becomes a necessity. My apologies for the "cut and paste" logs. I will add favourites where I think it was particularly memorable. Thanks to all the cache owners for giving us things to do on our journey. It seemed strange to drive back to the Kapiti Coast post Mega without stopping for any caches. Happy caching. TFTCSL
Heading towards the Mega. Thought it would be impolite not to grab a few on the way through. Thanks all for the hides.
I was out and about Fielding and its environs today signing off mainly solved puzzles and a few trads that got in the way.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Visiting Feilding with family during the school holidays. This one was quickly found, but watch for the nearby blackberry which gave three year old granddaughter an unpleasant surprise. This was a pleasant peaceful spot for an afternoon tea snack for the little girls and best of all the Overlander train came by and we got lots of waves from the passengers. Thanks marisa&kaleb
#8351. A short walk to Mahinui Street in Feilding. Did not see a train today. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Missed it on the first sweep as it was quite concealed. Did see a choo choo go past. tftc
Marissa&kaleb this was a nice easy one coming from you - I suspect one of your earlier caches. We were over in Napier last weekend and even found some of your cards in some caches there. You do get around in the caching world. TFTC.
#1886 As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

Visiting my friend in Feilding. .An easy find with my very own special search engine, my good friend Pamela . TFTC
Another one tracked down and located by my youngest, Had a feeling where it would be once car was parked, so gave up the GPSr once more to his little hands, and off he went.
Once at GZ and he fumbled for a bit, he was triumphant and logging ceremonial was commenced.
saw no one here during this time so was a nice extraction.
Cheers

Great to take the kids and dog out for some fresh air, nice walkway by the river. TFTC
Wandering around Feilding grabbing a few caches as I go and end up in another spot I have not seen before. A bit of damage on the riverbank from the recent floods. GPSr took me straight to the spot where the cache was quickly located and log signed. Thanks for the placement marisa&kaleb.
1st of the day. We were visiting family in Feilding and did a few caches before meeting up. This was an easy find in a quiet part of town. Geoson found it straight away. TFTC.
Rain, wind and no caches made for a dismal day in Friendly Feilding!
Thus I was very thankful to find this one today after a string of DNFs around the town. SL nice & dry

Quick find with Master Swiss. GPS co-ords a bit out. Easy on a public holidays. Intriguing all the car parks.
Came around here for the first time, and found this cache. Nice location on a sunny day. TFTC
Found the cache lying on the ground so signed the log and placed it where I am sure you intended since its magnetic. T4tc
My brother and I we searching for ages then my dad got bored, walked over and found it first time. Typical.
After looking in a totaly random spot we ended up at the right spot by the right beam lolz. Main sidekick aro was onto it. TFTC guys.
this was so frustrating for me, I was right on top of it and Mr +1 had to swoop in and ruin all my glory

Caching in paradise, a gorgeous spring day in the Manawatu.

Tip toed through the wet grass on a very cold day, so glad it was a nice quick find, & then a dash back to the warm car. Whimps eh! TFTC
Turned off the wrong street when heading to another cache - that happens when just a few days in a town. Then I saw that there is another cache in that area and it was an easy find. Thanks
While heading into Palmy for work i thought to grab a few caches along the way. This was the second of the day and a greatfully no muggles around
Thanks for the placement

Out for a bit of train spotting but no Choo Choo came past so was on track to find the cache instead, TFTC.
A quick find after work while taking our new GPS on it's maiden run. No trains to be seen though.
Nice easy find, the new GPS led me straight to it but it was in the first place I looked.
I actually walked past here to get a cache once blissfully unaware I had walked past a nice quick find.

A quick find on the way towards Feilding late this morning. No trains around today. The magnet on the container is pretty weak and is only just holding it in place. Signed log, TFTC
How many thing could go wrong here, first we were on the wrong side of the river then we were on the wrong side of the tracks many thanks
A very large modern choo choo working here today but nobody else around. Quickly found. TFTC
A quick find on our roundup of some of the new Feilding caches. Nice to boost our numbers with an easy find. thankz. TFTC
I have checked on the cache, glad I used water proof paper, cache is nice and dry a long with the log.
Hoped to photo one of the many trains we heard or saw today but timing was wrong. TFTC
After the wind and rain of Tuesday 21 st the 22nd of January was fine and clear. Jono S and I had decided that we needed a day in Feilding to start finding all the new caches and would need an early start.
I picked him up before 8 am and we were off on our day geocaching following a worked out route that tried to avoid doubling back.
We found 19 caches so of which were straight forward and others more of a challenge and took a bit of time. We didnt find three.

Arrived at this cache almost by default! Had input the co-ords incorrectly. (So much for making lists!) But nevertheless a great hide. Log a little damp but still workable.

Today was a Feilding Geocache Day! An early start in the company of MJMNZ we set off to “knock off” some of the many new caches appearing in and around Feilding; mostly with success!

Found with Karen during a de-mugglefication lesson.
Saw it as we approached so hid it slightly better after signing the log.
