OCW SurdiVisio as I like company in the bush. A bit off coordinates, yet a good find. Liked the ammo cache container, thanks

With my geosenses improved in the past two months, I came back here to convert my DNF to a Smiley. CIH in less than two minutes. With TBs Canadian Flag, Swiss Duck, Pittiplatsch and Corona Express Cruise Ship in tow

At GZ quick find. We signed it and replaced it.

#7853 (4 of 14 today - including 5 Adventure Labs)

Yet another day in April where my calendar finds are low, so headed up the Blue Mountains for some numbers.
Problem is, when up here quality over quantity always takes hold, and today was no exception. Did three bush caches in Warrimoo, one of which was unfound in almost 2 years - where is everyone?

The day ended badly, though with a DNF and a bad calc on a multi - still not sure where I went wrong there, but I'm confident some person's bedroom is not GZ.
On the bright side, I made my 100th Virtual find! HUZZAH!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
After finding *Florabella Forest* I decided I didn't want another like it today, so decided not to go for *Rise and what shine*. But that left two caches here I hopefully only have to walk to.

Picked this one to do first. Came in off The Mall and cleared so many webs on my walk to the cache. Managed not to take any wrong turns, either.

Started the search and at one point had a choice of direction... as usual I picked the wrong one.
Nothing found I went back the way I'd come and tried the other direction. Almost instant find! Typical.

Signed, replaced and off to a long unfound cache...

After the community event is was time to grab a few more caches in the area so headed over. We thought we had a puzzle solve near here too but realised we had fat fingered some digits and with light rain now falling didn't have the time to solve in the field. Nice to find an ammo can and we completed the signing duties and re hid, TFTC

07-Jul-20
Found this for a second time today, this time i had all the little Clift-hangers with me. Last time we parked at the end of the street called The Mall, however since then we have moved and where able to access from out backyard! Left some swaps for kids.

Took me quite a while. The gps had me looking in a few other spots before finding it. Great spot. Love the ammo cans. TFTC

This is find number: 3935
Streak Day: 1525

Found today with Snoopy1976, headed up here for our daily cache today and went in walking to this one. Once at GZ it was an easy find. Thanks

Thanks to bisygisy for placing and maintaining this cache.

Stunning day for a walk through the Bush and this was straight forward for kids to find. Made some swaps and listened as a steam train made its way to up the mountain. Toot toot! Tftc bisygisy

Cache description is very clear and up to date... thank you bisygisy!
Had a little fun figuring out where "The Mall" was... nice one... then on to find the cache. Enjoyed wandering the criss-crossing tracks to get to GZ. Coordinates are spot on.

23-Mar-19
Found it! Interesting walk in, pick up a stick for the spider webs. We took a left when we should have taken a right, but backtracked, kept on and found it after a little bit of poking around at GZ.

Just a note, The Mall is the name of a street, not the mall of shops. Might make more sense of the notes.

09-Aug-18
It is quite clearly indicated in the notes that access via the Antique Shop is now inaccessible due to a house being built on the spare block. The cache can be easily found by tracks from 'The Mall' near the primary school. The rating clearly does not need to be increased if you have chosen to do it as a bush bash rather than use tracks that exist in Open Street Maps. As always caution is advised as this area has a high number of black snakes in summer.

07-Aug-18
After finding King Midas's treasure I thought will I, won't I look for another cache and decided I'd try for another cache in Warrimoo instead of training it home immediately.
This is a very tiny quiet town and nothing except the newsagent was open. I couldn't see any mall, just a dirt area between the shops but decided that must be what was meant and headed down towards the bush which I could see.
From there the GPS said 130m. I couldn't see any tracks and didn't come across any on my trek. Basically it was a complete bush bash there and back to GZ so I think the T level should be higher.
Anyway the co-ordinates are excellent and I walked straight up to the cache. Walked? No more like scramble. I even leant on a reasonable sized tree which fell down with my touch. The trunk was about as thick as my thigh.
Signed the logbook and visited some TBs which I'd lugged along for the journey.

I'd be reluctant to do this one in summer because of the possibility of ticks and snakes and the heat as its quite a scramble. It'd be difficult in wet weather too.

In the area and took a walk in the bush to this one. Trails were a bit obscure in places but made it to GZ. A short search soon had the prize in hand. Replaced as found after signing the log. tftc

Wasn’t able to find this one, checked at least most of the nooks and crannies but couldn’t find anything. Nice view though

16-Feb-18
Tracks not easy to find, rating may need review or a track head logged? Bush bashed with geokids all the way to gz. Managed to find a better way back. Worth the effort. TFTC

Out with JJCC collecting several caches that fill in some missing holes in our finds by hidden date calendar as well as caches that fill in some missing positive attributes. Although this cache did not fulfill any of todays targets, we stopped by anyway to pick up this cache after parking the car at The Mall. Making our way down to GZ we disturbed a wallaby before noticing a pile of rocks which turned out to be a nice kids fort tucked away in the cave. Turning around and backtracking a little we came across the hide. With the cache in hand, we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache bisygisy.

The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust) & Vanlith The Youngling.

Tftc - snake heaven around this gully. Three blacks in ~700m . Tried to catch the last one with no success, too fast .....

14-Aug-17
We started at the end of The Mall (street) and after a short bushbash found a track and then zig zagged along various tracks to the cache. TFTC

06-Aug-17
Went out for an evening cache in the moonlight. Couldn't find any path so bush bashed the 150m by torch light. Found the cache easily enough and followed the path out. Thanks for the cache

05-Aug-17
Found in the dark on Saturday night with Daniel 2:22 after a productive day working in the back yard. Thought we had a track in, but soon turned into bush bashing by torchlight. Once at the cache location I realised I have been here before with a DNF, but after a short while Daniel 2:22 came up with the goods. I did find a very well established "kids playhouse" in a cave nearby. We found a track out and thought " this is easier" however just as we were going to exit to the road a man "hiding behind a shed" informed us we were on private property and could not exit via his driveway. So back across the creek and out the way we came in. Cache a little bare for such a good size. I did not have anything with me to leave.

24-May-17
With a calendar day to fill we decided on a cache close to home. Parked at the end of The Mall. With no distinct trail we headed to the end of the cleared area and headed in. MrT in the lead with the GPS and me following behind. Eventually we found a trail which made the walking easier. Looking around the cache was spotted by MrT. With log signed and returned as found we headed back along the trail. As what usually happens when out caching, the easier trail came out right near the front of the house. Although we did have to push our way out in to the open. Home for morning tea! TFTC

09-Feb-17
Initially we tried to find the path adjacent to the Antique shop but no sign of it. Went in from The Mall, certainly a confusing criss cross of tracks, very hot afternoon so relieved to find the cache quickly, then back to the car without getting lost. TFTC

8th and final find of the day. Overall I had a great time visiting the beautiful town of Warrimoo and the impressive northern half of Florabella Pass. This cache seemed elusive at first but with a little more sniffing into suspicious nooks I soon spotted the iconic container. TFTC!

10-Feb-16
Tylerw70 and I definitely took the hardest path to this cache. As we arrived at the antiques shop we couldn't find a path down so kept walking. After finding what we thought was an access route we decided to try and make our way in. After one hell of a bush bash we finally came upon a walking track and made our way to GZ. What an awesome cache! Thanks for placing this one.

I really enjoyed the walk to this cache.i haven't been down here for years.
All the locals once used these trails to easily get to the shop or train station and all us local kids would ride our mini bikes all through here.its really over grown in on some paths now ...aaahhhh so many memories

Second and final find for the day with NickCD. Followed the road and parked at the end of Mall st. All we had to do from there is follow the trails to the cache. In the end an easy find, nicely tucked away. TFTC.

I took my little brother out for his first bushwalk to get him out of the house these holidays. A perfect excuse to find a few geocaches.
This cache has the perfect name as our trek through the bush criss crossed several tracks and boulders. A good training ground to teach the young to look where they place their feet. Maybe they'll relate the obstacles in the bush with the toys they leave all over the house and pick them up!

#2,794

This was my fourth (& last) find for the day, but if I'd had any sense we would have come here first. Divergence was closer to where we parked, but doing it, then Rise & What Shine and then Quagmire meant a long walk past those caches back to this one and then another walk back the same tracks to the car. At least it's a nice area to walk in!

The cache itself was a quick find, thanks.

22-May-14
Nice to find an ammo box again, so many tracks in this area, even with them in the GPS, you gotta keep watch on where you need to turn and when.

One the way here we found the latest in high-tec caching transport.

14-May-14
Thankfully, I didnt need to Criss Cross to find this cache. I narrowed in to GZ where I got in position and found the cache in the first spot I looked. Somedays, you cant see them. Somedays you can. Today was a lucky one for me. Neat Hide. TFTC.

#2354- bikerbuddy had a free day on his calendar, so I suggested we take a bit of a break from the busy weekend and head out for a cache. The four of us headed down the now, very familiar track, parking the car beforehand near the antique shop on the highway. Easily found the track and followed it across the creek, before losing it again. Before long we were at GZ and cache was in hand. Nice to find one of three ammo tins on our little trip for today. Thanks

I've not only been fairly busy for the past few months, but my GPS was failing. I have turned the thing off and on so many times over the years, that it became criss and then cross and became due for a toss. In other words, I could no longer turn it on. For a while I had to rely upon the phone or the GPS of others I was with.

But the other day I got a replacement unit, brand new and cheap from the good people at Garmin who let me trade old faithful in. This cache was its maiden find. We had no trouble locating the spot. We broke a bottle of champagne on its casing, just to celebrate. Thanks

TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity. Took nothing left TB

Thanks to pjmpjm who demanded that I accompany him today, this one turned out to be a very nice cache in a very nice spot and well worth the little effort required to find it.
We soon had the cache in hand under the watchful eye of the CO.
Thanks for the nice cache.

Another rather hot outing down into the lower mountains, this time chasing two bisygisy caches in the familiar Warrimoo 'spaghetti wilderness' area! rogerw3 accompanied me, to make sure I was properly supervised, and proved as always to be a wise guide. His 'Flora' was in fact one of the first caches placed in this area, some years ago.

With the use of an OSM map, getting to GZ isn't too difficult. The network of trails around here can be confusing. Since the cache isn't too far from the recommended entry points, you can always bush bash a bit if you have to, but of course using the actual trails is always best for the upkeep of the native bushland.

Once we were at GZ (pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the CO) we made a fairly quick find in a likely place. You should take a bit of care with the younger geo-kids in places like this (as everywhere, really, in the Blue Mountains) because of some drop-offs from the rocky areas, but nevertheless this geocache makes quite a suitable family outing.

The generously-sized container was in good nick, nice and dry. TNLNSL.

Many thanks to bisygisy for the cache and for coming to meet us in the Warrimoo bush!

With the afternoon off, we set out to do some local caches.

Surprised this one went so long unnoticed by me.

Access to the area was easy, but we took the wrong track on several occasions. After a quick search of the GZ cache was in hand.

Found an interesting cave nearby as well.

I went down this track, crissed to that track and crossed over another. I only got a little lost and a little cross!?!

Eventually I was at a nice spot to stop and a clever hide. I took the easy way back, of course.
