Really?? There?? If only my GPS was playing nicer. After a bit of no luck, i tried again and thankfully took me to a much more useful area - mainly because it contained the cache. It seemed almost in celebration of the find a rabbit took off at top speed away from us. Thankfully the only buzzing around here was all the bees in the coreopsis. Thanks again. All in good condition.
After a brief time searching around we were able to find the hide. T4TC

A slower day today preparing for the trails tomorrow, we did some excellent caches today, 30 caches in 3 hours ,all fine finds, many thanx to all cache placers for the efforts put in, top stuff
Found at 4:15:00 PM, staying in Stanthorpe for a couple of days and grabbing a few caches before continuing on our way North to escape Wagga's winter. We started the Granite Belt Bike Trail this morning and soon realised that if we were going to have any chance of completing it in one day we would need a bit more horsepower so we swapped the bikes for the Geomobile.
Thanks Rainforest Cookie.
Thanks Rainforest Cookie.
An enjoyable visit and find on my first day of a return road trip from the Queensland MEGA.

When I first spied this series, I thought id walk or cycle it, turns out, its more of a driveable Trail...
Visiting QLD from Central Coast NSW, and attending the Stanthorpe MEGA EVENT for about a week. Camping at the showground, caching days done mainly with SpikeyMikey, meeting up with members of CCG, HAVOC, and others from all over Australia.
Many thanks to all responsible for a smooth operating event, my first Mega, and first visit to Stanthorpe. Plenty of reasons for a near future visit
Whilest it did rain and drizzle almost every day, I much preferred this over hot days, which is what I encounted on the Gold Coast return journey, as well as a repeated bout of coughing with the flu on the long drive home.
Great Puzzles, Power Trails, landscapes, History, Apples!, and company. Politeness and respect by all
Many Personal records smashed this weekend First MEGA, Finds per day, Altitude, etc

Arrived in Queensland early yesterday morning and headed straight out here to Stanthorpe. Oh so many caches and only such a short time for us to find as many as we can, whilst still taking time out to catch up and socialise with all the other geocachers who are in town for the big event. Headed down into NSW today , then crossed back over the border again into Queensland. No problems finding this one. Thanks again Rainforest Cookie

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.
Day six was fairly gloomy and wet, but we started by heading up to the Bald Rock area, even though it turned out to be too wet to attempt the climb. Then it was back to the main road and trail caching for the rest of the way to Stanthorpe. Thanks.

Day 72 of my trip to Brisbane.
Today, I'm having a bludge. I didn't sleep that well, with all the rain last night, so I slept in, had a small snack for brekky, and booked myself into the Barrel Room for lunch. After a some top tucker, it was time for the GeoSchnauzers and I to do a few caches. As it was cloudy and rainy, I took them to the lunch venue, and they sat in the car. We then drove back in the general direction of Stanthorpe. The rain is even clearing for me.
No 2 of 14 today. Thanks, Rainforest Cookie. This was another quick grab, in rocks but across a running gutter, so the GeoSchnauzers stayed in the car again.

Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.

much easier find this year, sad to see the kangaroos the only ones using the netting now though. Thought I was going to miss out again when I had to stop to let some steers be herded across the road into a new paddock but no the cache was at the next farm and took about 10 seconds.

Found this cache whilst out for the day with Captain Terror. He had already found these caches but was willing to take me around and grab the few I needed. We pulled up to this one and I jumped out to start searching. With a bit of guidance from the Captain I was able to walk straight over to the right area and have the cache in my hands within a few moments. I signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Still, if you are going to chase caches in the rain, the GBBT is a great series of caches to go after.

Out caching with ratdog12 and her friend. This one is all good. Pity all the stone fruit trees are gone now
This one was also found without any problems, we have been very lucky today as we have no muggles to worry about. TFTC
well I kinda figured I was in the right vicinity to find the cache but was muggled out by the fruit farms family doing a tour of their boundary fence. how unlucky can you get.
While having a chat them I asked why they had chopped down their fruit trees and what variety had they been. The mother responded that they had been stonefruit and the market had downturned so much that the crop had cost them too much money to continue to grow them. This is a story that is being repeated many times across Australia which doesn't stop it from being a sad state of affairs.
By then I had spent too much time hanging around an obscure rock pile to make another attempt at the cache and will have to come back another time.
Eat australian fruit!

COuld do with a flake about now - thought this one would be really hard but Geobuster found it real fast!
Back to Stanthorpe to have a crack at the granite Belt Bike trail. Had a good look at Google before I went and I still made a fundamental blunder. Explained later. Followed GPSr to the start of the Trail. I had a stop at the visitors information Centre to gather a number and I also had the brochure which I was able to down load from the internet.

Out and about bright and early today, we decided to tackle this series. We had a great drive out on the road, travelling around this great part of Queensland. We found the cache nice and easily, signed the logbook, and returned it to its spot.
TFTC Rainforest Cookie, a great series along some nice roads

Out doing an early morning run on this series, this was next on my hit list.
I parked about 70m from GZ for safety reasons and made my way to GZ. After a bit of an inspection of the area, I noticed a likely hide - and sure enough, a cache dwelled within. It was in good condition.

After passing the beautifully cared for peach orchards we arrived at GZ . . a location that can cause us some not so quick finds but not today.

A great series and this choc would have to be one of their best sellers, surely. A popular one! A great cache too. Thanks for placing this new series along here Rainforest Cookie, to bring our attention to this nicely laid bike trail by the local authorities. Good one! NINOSL.
A cold, wet and windy day out while I explored the bike trail by myself today. I had planned to ride my bike around, instead it got a ride in the boot for the afternoon. You can read the details of my travels through the series in my log for the final multi at http://coord.info/GLB5VPM6
Getting to this one was both exciting and boring. I got stuck behind a produce truck who was taking his time around the windy (in both senses/pronunciations of the word) road. But this made me look outside a bit more. Following the river, seeing glimpses of waterholes, vast farms and yet more of the general beauty of the Granite Belt which reminded me yet again why I love this area.
I parked across the road from this one as the side of the cache looked a bit boggy. Walked across and oh my! That is a lot of places to hunt. In my head I narrowed it down to 'over there' then to where the co-ords pointed a bit,, then stood back and looked for the one giveaway sign. Sure enough I spied that one thing that was a bit different and the cache was in the first place I looked. Signed and replaced all as found, like the others, in good condition.
Oh yes, I managed to guess this one (I think it was pretty easy though) And always fun in icecream aren't they? TFTC Rainforest Cookie
